Black Horiz. Bars on My Website Upload

Hi all,
I have a point and shoot that takes 720P (1280X720) video and they are saved to the SDHC Card as AVI files. I then save them to my desktop pc and import them into Adobe Premiere Elements 8 and arrange them on the timeline. My project settings are "NTSC-HDV-HDV720p 30". When I go to render and upload to my ftp directory on my web server, the final output has big black bars on the top and bottom of the video as if it were padding it for a regular NTSC 720X480 video file. The only way that I have been able to work around this is to go this route:
1: Share
2: Personal Computer
3: Adobe Flash Video
4: Select preset "NTSC Flash Video 8 700K"
5: Click the "Advanced" button
6: On the video tab, change the width and height to the aspect ratio that I am using such as 480 X 270
7: Click "OK" and save the preset to something meaningful
8: Click "Save"
9: Go find my FLV and upload it manually
Is there any way to save a preset to: Share, Online, My Website
Thanks...
Jeremy

Thanks for the G-Spot screen-cap. The HD 720p (1280x720) Preset should match, and the Square pixels matches in the PAR.
If you mean edit as in insert into the timeline and cutting a section here and adding an effect there and maybe even a nice little transition joining these two clips, then it already did that before I installed Morgan.
Then you had an MJPEG CODEC installed, though there can be differences between many of them. This happens on occassion, where say the Morgan will do better for one user, than the MainConcept, or the Lead.
All my footage is from one camera. There is nothing "dissimalar" about any of it.
This is my mistake. I obviously confused threads. There was another that I was working on, where the footage came from two different cameras, and one was an MJPEG CODEC. Sorry about that - my bad. Just ignore.
Looking at your next post with the screen-caps, it still looks like a mismatch between the footage and the Project Preset. However, based on what G-Spot reported, the use of an HD 720p Preset with that footage should take care of it. Your footage should fill the frame, and it does not. It almost looks like PAL footage in an NTSC Project, or similar mismatch. I'll go back and re-read all of the details, trying to keep my mind on one thread at a time.
Good luck,
Hunt

If it has to be a black bar. Make the bar using a Custom generator in Solids. Crop it to whatever size you want using the Crop function in the Viewer. Use the Transform function in the Viewer to position. You can keframe the crop and transform functions to animate the bar as needed.

  • Black vertical bar with lines on Macbook pro screen Appeared out of nowhere

I was working on my computer late at night. Like always.
I went to bed, and left the computer on in it's screen saver , as I always do.
When I woke up I had a black vertical bar on the screen about 1 1/2 inch thick with some flickering lines next to it.
here is what it looks like: http://www.talkcitee.com/ourspaceimages//2coolcode/2coolcode.jpg
I don't believe this to be a memory problem, I can take snapshots of the full screen, and I can hook up an external monitor with no problem. Also restarded PRAM plenty of times, etc.
But this black bar appeared out of nowhere. As if one way my screen decided it was going to blow out on me out of nowhere. I've had this MacBook for 2 years.
Question is, do you think the problem is:
    a) the screen
    b) connection / short problem to the screen inside the macbook
I hope it's B , because they told me it would cost $800 to replace the screen which is stupid cus I can get a new macbook pro for less than that.
I think there is a connectivity problem with the hardware , possibly a short, or something messed up with the wires or pins that link to the screen.
I noticed after repeatedly opening and closing the macbook, there were some changes in the small flickering lines next the big bar, and some of them turned solid black.
Has this happened to anybody else before?

Usually what happens is that over time the cable comes loose from the back. This happens because the enclosure within the hinge housing is quite tight and the LVDS cable has little room to move around. Because of the frequent opening and closing on the lid, the cable starts to move out of place try opening and closing it a few times and push it back very gently. You might see the line disappear or decrease slightly.

My first step would be to get rid of "Norton protection". Boot from your OS 10.6 disc, navigate through your hard drivve and trash anything that is Norton. Empty the trash.
Next, run Disk Utility and ask it to repair the hard drive.

This issue can be caused by a plugin or an extension that is not compatible with Firefox 3.6 and isn't working properly anymore.
A toolbar like the "ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker Plugin Stub for 32-bit Windows" and other toolbars like "Ask.com" or "My Web Search" can cause this issue.

If you are using FCP (mmmh what software are you using? I noticed that you are on W. XP) use BORIS vector shape filter from filters tab.
Alternatevely create a simple black rectangle in Photoshop, export it to FCP ( use composite mode to get rid of background if you get one) and rotate and resize it in FCP using motion tab tools

Do you have enabled auto-fill for the location bar?
You can check the pref browser.urlbar.autoFill on the <b>about:config</b> page.
You can also make the protocol visible.
You can set the pref <b>browser.urlbar.trimURLs</b> to <i>false</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page to see the http: protocol.

  • Black Bars on Sides & Poor Upload to YouTube

    1. Open Premiere Elements 8.0.1 and set the project preset (new project dialog) = PAL AVCHD Full HD1080i25.
    2. In the program, Edit Menu/Preferences/General, have a check mark next to "Default Scale to Frame Size".
    3. Right click the Edit Mode Monitor, select Magnification, and have the set on "Fit".
    4.  Using Premiere Elements' Get Media/Files & Folders, import your  AVCHD 1920x 1080 16:9 video into the program. (You will see your video  in the Organizer.)
    5. Drag your video from the Organizer to the Timeline. Are you seeing a 4:3 version of it in the Edit Mode Monitor?
    6. If so, click on the Project Tab in the row below the active Organize (Blue) Tab to bring up the Project Media View.
    7. In the Project Media View, right click your video in the list to bring up the Interpret Footage dialog.
    8.  In the Interpret Footage dialog, under Pixel Aspect Raio, dot the  "Conform to:" and change the setting = Square Pixels (1.0). After you  click OK to that, see what your video now looks like in the Edit Mode  Monitor.
    Miscelleanous
    1. You can also use the Interpret Footage dialog for Frame Rate considerations.
    2.  Although the gspot read out does not give a reading for PAR (Pixel  Aspect Ratio), the PAR can be calculated from the SAR and DAR values  given since PAR = DAR/SAR and, in your case, 1.778/1.778 = 1.0. The DAR  is Display Aspect Ratio and the SAR is Storage Aspect Ratio.
    3.  What is the duration (seconds, minutes, hours) of the video that you  have been trying to use in Premiere Elements 8.0.1. You are working with  AVCHD which is a very resourve demanding format, and it appears that  you have 2 GB RAM installs that probably translates in much less  available and you do not say how much free hard drive space your  computer has. But, if the video in question is only of a few seconds  duration, we should be able to work through this pixel aspect ratio  issue.

  • Black bars appearing on website while browsing with iOS 6

I have a WP site and when I browse it using my iOS 6 iPhone it shows black bars at the bottom of each post.
Others using iOS 6 also have the same issue on my site but those using older iOS do not see the black bars...
Anyone else having this problem with Safari in iOS 6?
    Thanks

Yes I see this too. Using the WiFi hotspot does not have this problem but is a poor workaround. I also upgraded both devices to iOS 6, and tried resetting network settings on the hotspot device, to no avail. I filed a bug report at http://bugreporter.apple.com , you may wish to do the same.

  • Horizontal menu bar appears vertical after upload

    Hi,
I am new using Dreamweaver CS4 and have encontered a problem. I have made a nice looking (I think so) horizontal menu bar on my web project and it works/looks fine in the "LIve View" of DW. However on the web page after upload it looks like this:
    http://www.competenciagroup.com/ColombiaTravel/index.html#
It has changed from horizontal to vertical and all formats are gone. Anybody have a clue?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ivan

The Spry stylesheet cannot be found.
    The Spry CSS should be:
    http://www.competenciagroup.com/SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css
In your local working folder on your computer, is the Spry folder inside the working folder, or is it outside of that folder.  The Spry Assets folder should be inside the folder where all your other html/image files are.  The link in your html pages, shows that the Spry folder goes one level deeper than that.
The paths to both the spry css and the spry js file are wrong, you need to fix that and then upload the files again.
Hopefully you are working within a Defined Dreamweaver site - this is a very important first step before working on your site.
    Define a site:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/140/tn_14028.html
Via the File Panels window, move the spry folder into your working folder  *do not do it via windows explorer* it has to be done through Dreamweaver so that DW can correctly the file links.  If everything goes correctly, you should be asked whether you want to update any links, so yes.. and hopefully the links will be corrected.
Usually the link should look like this if the Spry folder is inside your working folder structure:
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    Your link however shows as:
    <link href="../../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
This means that the browser is trying to find the files one level down from where you website files are stored on the server.. and it's not there.

  • Clearing Spry Menu Bars within the website

How do I clear the spry menu bar values within a website. I am trying to create a horizontal spry menu bar on one page and then another horizontal one on another page. It keeps the same values everytime I create a new page. How do I clear the values for each page?
    Thanks!

I am redesigning the website in the test environment using a new page. While doing so I am redoing the spry menu bar. Thanks!
If you are editing locally it should not overwrite your remote file unless you have the option "Automatically upload files to server on save" checked off.  If that is the case you should uncheck that box.
If you want to further separate the old version from the new version, the only other method is to just create a new site.  Even if you start with a duplicate of the existing site.  Then you don't risk the chance of overwriting the existing files on the server.
