Black or White MacBook replacement battery

IMac G5 Purchased November 2004   Mac OS X (10.3.4)   Now a MacBook too
I need a replacement battery for my 13 inch MacBook. It appears there are none available in the world in white. Is a black one the same they seem available. I could care alout the color.
Thanks, Steve

Mike,
Good point it will kill Apple to see us Zebra's. I just am so glad you answered me. I was not going to order a black one with the warning at the Apple Store. "The black battery is not compatable with a white MacBook". I am so happy to be able to have a spare battery when I am in Afghanistan next month.I will only use it for a short period of time but, it would be a disaster if it ran out of power. I will not plug my MacBook in their maybe 170 to 240 volt maybe 50 hertz power. I tried a made for their power electric razor( Do not use the Water near your face). The razor went on hifire and melted down. I can imagine what that power could do to my MacBook.Thank you so much for your help.
Steve

  • Black or White MacBook?

Hello, I was just trying to get some input on whether I should buy a Black or a White MacBook.
Which color looks better? I'm not wondering about the specs just how the color looks and wears...
    Thanks,
    Christian

My g/f has a white one and I have a black one..
Whites show dirt but black shows fingerprints...buy lots of iKlear if you get the black.
Black macbook squeaks/creaks a little bit but I'm "told" that it's the black coating on the plastics that can cause this. Most blackbooks I've seen/used share this noise but it's nothing to get bent over.
My g/f's whitebook is near silent (creaks a tiny bit) but is pretty rock solid.
My advice: Whatever you get, buy refurbished. I didn't but sincerely wish I did. She bought a 2Ghz Core Duo Whitebook w/ 512MB RAM and 60GB HDD, and it came w/ 1GB RAM and a 120GB HDD. Needless to say, she was VERY happy, and the machine is about 98% perfect (very slight scratch near battery compartment). This is 'our' experience so I'm not saying you'll get the same blessed machine, but the savings are definitely a bonus.

  • Black and White macbook batteries

The black macbook battery and the white macbook battery say they are incompatible when not used with the correct color. On the apple store website it says, "black battery ONLY WITH a black macbook".
my friend has an old battery she said she could give me, but its a white one. and i have a black macbook. Can i really not use it?

Huh? Why is that? When I bought my white MacBook I ordered an extra battery and the only one I could get was black and they sent it. It doesn't seem to have the same battery life as my white one. Hmmm...maybe I need to enquire about that.

  • Anyone else waiting for a Macbook replacement battery?

My battery packed up on the 6th August and I rang Apple Care on the 7th August. They said that they would send out a new battery. After waiting a week I rang them again and the person I spoke to couldn't understand why it hadn't been shipped to me as it was in stock. He said that he would re-submit the replacement battery order for me. A week latter it still hadn't arrived so I rang again and this time I was told that it was out of stock and wouldn't get supplies until latter this week (24th or 25th of August). However, I just looked in the online Apple store and it says that it they available for 24 hour shipping. Is anyone else waiting for a replacement battery in the UK?
    iMac G4 15" flat screen : MacBook 1.83 (Tiger)   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

It took me about 2-3 weeks for a replacement to be available from the apple reseller. from where i am the apple distributor is from singapore and apparently there have been a lot of warranty exchanges. initially they said 1 week but it eventually got mine in about 21/2 weeks. well i just got it lets see if it works and lasts!

  • Black vs. white macbook?

I plan on buying a macbook this month and my question is whether to go for the black or the white one. I personally like the look of the black one better however it seems like its easily scratched while the white glossy one seems more durable. If anyone has any advice let me know, i'm willing to pay the extra money for the black i just don't know if i would be making a mistake going for something that appears to scratch very easily, however that could be because i've only seen and used the one in the apple store which gets alot of traffic.

Overall, the black matte MacBook case is more durable than the white glossy ones in terms of scratching and bumps, but in terms of which one is easier to keep clean, the white one is. I personally love the black MacBook 10 times more than the white one.

  • New white macbook, no external display option !

I recently got my white macbook replaced with a new one. My old white macbook was great, once i pluged in my mini-vga adaptor to my macbook i hooked it up to my tv, when into display settings and set it appropriatly. Now i got a new white macbook. I plug my mini vga adaptor in, put it to the AV channel on my tv and nothing. And when i go into my macbooks display settings theres no arrangment feature! theres nothing for external displays at all ! Whats happened?!

I downloaded that - when i click on This Mac it simply says "This Mac Model Can Not Be Found, Please Check You Have The Most Up To Date Version Of Mactracker". Then when i search for updates it says i have the most up to date version. Bahumbug! Useless!
I've not been having a good relationship with technology lately at all! Obviously my adaptor is now useless, and unless I have a plasma/LCD TV or a new computer monitor, I'll have to deal with not having any ability to hook this up to my television. That was a feature I used on a regular basis.
Im getting more and more frustrated - I had the opportunity to buy the new Aluminum macbook but it didn't even have a firewire connection which i rely on for my home studio, so i settled for this lesser spec'd white macbook which now also can't do the TV-out function i used regularly. Brilliant.

I have 2010 macbook white 13 inch and need a replacement battery - where can i find the specs needed for the replacement?

The model 6,1 Late 2009 and the model 7,1 Mid 2010 use an A1331 battery. You can replace it yourself or have Apple do it for you for $129. If you need it quickly make sure you order it from a U. S. seller. Orders from China can take two or three weeks.

Here's installation instructions. You'll need a Tri Wing Y1 screwdriver in addition to the usual #00 Phillips screwdriver.

  • Where can I get a replacement battery for my 13 inch MacBook for a reasonable price?

I have been searching for a replacement battery for my 13 inch MacBook.  Does any one have any good recommendations on where to get one for a reasonable price?

You can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay. Every MacBook from 2006 through Mid 2009 except the Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 and 2010 White Unibodies use the same A1185 battery.

    hello,
where can I buy a replacement battery for macbook early 2008 edition (white). Thanks

  • HOW TO REPLACE HARD DRIVE WHITE MACBOOK EARLY 2009

I have a White MacBook Early 2009, I need suggestions. My Macbook is still running fine, but would like to know which Hard Drive I should purchase as replacement. Thinking of going 500GB if possible, I already downloaded the instructions. Just trying to get my ducks in order for when that time comes, hopefully not for a few more years.

For a new hard drive try Newegg.com
Regular SATA drives http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=380&name=Laptop-Hard-Dr ives&Order=PRICE  Use the list at the left for larger and faster drives.
    SSD drives
http://www.newegg.com/Internal-SSD/SubCategory/ID-636?Order=PRICE  Use the list at the left for larger and faster drives.
Or OWC for regular hard drives and SSDs  http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/
Here are instructions on replacing the hard drive in a MacBook with a removable battery. http://creativemac.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=45088
To transfer your current hard drive I like the applications Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. They make a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive. http://www.bombich.com/index.html or http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.
Here's a cheap SATA external hard drive case on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NexStar-2-5-Inch-External-Enclosure/dp/B002JQNXZC/r ef=pd_cp_pc_0
If you don’t have the tools to open up the MacBook OWC has a set for $5

  • Macbook pro screen has black and white squares

I have an older 2007 15" MacBook Pro. I turned it on one day and, although the computer made the same sounds it always does when it is booting up, the screen showed these very depressing black and white squares, and the rest of the pixes around these blocks (half black, half white)  were very scrambled.  A few days later the computer booted up completely normally, but now it is back to the crazy screen.
Does anyone know what this problem may be? I am currently in Thailand and am wondering if someone can help me figure out what problem this most likely is so I can decide how much an appropriate repair should cost.
    Thanks so much!

Hi if the device is a Macbook pro 15 inch mid 2010 model then there might be a chance of replacement of MLB for NVDIA graphic problem, please contact an apple authorised service provider for more details about this issue and you may get a free replacement programme for this MLB also all the best.....

  • White macbook boots to black screen?

I have a 2006 white macbook with the 2.0ghz core 2 duo processor. It boots well and runs fast most of the time, but sometimes after i press the power button instead of the screen becoming white with the apple logo etc. it just stays black. the fans run and i can hear activity within the laptop but the screen is black.
I usually hold down the power button and try to boot it up again. It works the second time generally, but sometimes I have to do that 3-5 times before it works and boots flawlessly to the desktop.
I have also tried re-seating the LCD cable via ifixit's guide, but it didn't help.
    thanks,
    camtechguy98

If you are in proximity of an Apple Store with Genius Bar, you could schedule
an appointment or reservation for a genius or specialist to look into the matter.
Depending on your location and global region, this may or may not be free
but is worthwhile to diagnose and test the Mac to discover what is wrong...
    http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
    http://www.apple.com/support/contact/
Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider
    Visit an Apple Retail Store
In several locations, the above may vary; in the US and Canada, [among other
regions, some Apple Stores may not] offer a diagnostic as a free service...
So depending on where you are you could check into this; the diagnostic test
and Genius bar is free even with an older Mac out of warranty in US/Canada.
If there is no Apple Store with Genius bar, you can check into seeing an AASP
or Authorized Apple Service Provider, where customary charges may apply.
These AASP locations may be able to repair older Macs the Apple Store is
unlikely to; so if you have vintage or obsolete gear, that's another matter out
side of the Genius. Specialist Independent repair services can also help.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Where can I buy a genuine apple replacement battery (A1309) for my Mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro?

Where can I buy a genuine apple replacement battery (A1309) for my Mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro? There are used batteries on ebay that don't appear genuine. There are some third-party knock offs. The apple store seems to believe they can replace it, but I have to make a reservation at the silly Genius Bar just to have them tell me how much it's gonna cost, not to mention then likely wait for them to order the battery and install it. I'm perfectly capable of installing it myself. I just need to know where I can order it?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Yeah, that's what I've finally decided. I was kidna super frustrated because the first apple store I called wouldn't even tell me a price or tell me if they could replace the battery without a Genius Bar appointment, and as I would have to take off work and drive acros town--and I don't have a car so I'd have to borrow one--that was pretty annoying. That call left me pricing linux laptops. I called another store to see if I'd have better luck, and the initial answer was the same, but the girl relented under some trying-to-be-nice-but-clearly-annoyed pressure, and she gave me the answers I needed: yes, they should have the battery in stock and it should be a same-day replacement that should cost $179.
It just *****, really, because there's so much about Apple that I used to love, and I'm watching it kinda melt away under their success in the mobile market. As a professional user, there's less and less reason to stick with them. Instead of being the best they can be, I feel like they're just trying to be flashier and just a little better than the other mediocre computer companies. Ugh. Anyway, now I'm ranting.
