Black screen on reboot - can only see mouse pointer

Installed a couple new apps yesterday and on reboot, I can no longer get my login screen. The workstation boots and I hear the windows login screen sound, but all I get is a black screen which I can see my mouse cursor on when I move it. I've tried powering
off and on a few times and still the same result. I'm unable to figure out how to get to Safe Mode in Windows 10. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I use iMovie almost everyday for Youtube videos. I have nothing in my imovie except the 5 clips that I'm editing now. I have all my media on an external hard drive and delete everything after I'm done with ( I empty all trash cans). My iMovie is now skipping when I try to edit and then the clips just go to a black screen and I can only hear the audio, this has been going on for a week and I don't know what to do?!? Any help?

Try Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM

There's a bug with the wallpaper. One thing that helps a bit, go to the photos app, find your pic, 'send' it to be wallpaper. You have a bit more control although not all the function you're used to.
No idea when or if Apple will fix it.

Home screen really big,can only see the center, cant move it or shrink it

iphone 4 been working just fine, went to turn it on today , pushed the button, turned on screen and the picture was blown up really big. could only see the center, could not slide or shrink so cant answer my phone or access the home page. Tried restarting with the power button, and tried resetting by holding down both buttons for 10 seconds....still the same.Any ideas?

to make shure this does not happen again go to settings, general, accessibility, and under zoom just turn that off

Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Black screen after waking from sleep, but mouse pointer visible

I'm not sure if this is the same as the many other posts on problems connecting the Mac Mini to an external monitor. In my case, after it wakes, there is no login menu - but the mouse pointer is visible and I can move it around the screen no problem.
At present, I have to power the Mac Mini down and back up again, which is unacceptable.
What's causing this and how can I fix it?

Yes, I have this problem too. I reported to Apple about 3 or 4 weeks ago. They said no one else ever reported it and said they would escalate it but they have never got back too me. It is a pain because my mini is a media center pc and hard to get to when this happens.
For now the work around I use is to unplug the mini dvi connecter and plug it back in; this fixes the issue until the next time it happens.
+My mini (2009 version) is connected using the mini-dvi connector to a Denon receiver (with a DVI->hdmi connector) which is then connected to a sony 1080p TV. This replaced an older mini (intel duo) which did not have this problem using the same setup.+

Hi and welcome to lenovo forum
by turning on your computer pressing the F8 key you get the
Advanced Boot Options menu lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting modes.
Some options, such as safe mode, start Windows in a limited state,
where only the bare essentials are started.
If a problem does not reappear when you start in safe mode,
you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers as possible causes.
1. Disconnect all external devices (printers, USB hubs, USB drives, etc...) and then boot up.
If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you discover the piece
of hardware causing the issue. Then get any updated drivers\software for the device.
2. Use the “Last known good configuration” from the Windows Advanced Options menu.
If this option resolves the issue then look for any updates or software installs that may have
caused the problem.

Try force closing the Camera app, followed by resetting your phone. Double=tap the home button, locate Camera in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button. Now reset your phone by holding the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

If you haven't already, you could force-quit Quicktime by using the menu option from the desktop (finder) and choose Quicktime.
Not sure what you have frozen on the screen, be it a failed movie, or some unusual screen shot. If you can find by date (created) you may be able to look for .mov or quicktime suffix name or other video file content to delete it.
And you may have to restart your computer and perhaps run repair disk permissions from Disk Utility's first aid on the hard disk drive in your computer.
Not sure if all that would help now, but it is something a few days late...!

My thumbnails have all disappeared. If I view events there is the same one for all 270 events and if I open an event I have clack thumbnails. I can only see the photo if I open it individually.

No. Quitefrankly I didn't know I could even use iPhoto on iPad, I just have the photos app that came on it. This is on my laptop. I don't particularly like iPhoto I use it essentially to take photos off my camera and store all the originals. I use Photoshop. To work on them and store them in Dropbox (don't get me started on iCloud!). As I said this is a problem that seemed to crop up overnight after backing up to my external HD.

The startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you can access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.

Your phone might be on Zoom somehow, try just the simple "gestures" fix
Double tap with 3 fingers on the screen, then drag down. That should at least zoom out. If that does not work, try scrolling through the screen, but using 3 fingers instead of 1.
From there you should be able to access Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom>OFF

If not, you should always do so*:

You never know when a hard drive or a directory might go bad. Having a bootable clone is a must.
That link also shows you some tools you can use to recover data.
If you aren't backed up, try buying those tools first, before attempting to repair the directory.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
