Black square clock with minute hand

I don't know what's going on with my phone!  Two days ago it slowed right down and there's a black clock popping up every time I press a key with a minute hand moving......I can't figure out what's going on....I tried deleting old texts and messages thinking that it's slowing down because of that.....but no luck!  Still super slow and the clock pops up every time I press a key.  Help is appreciated!

Hi sanderella4
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
That Clock  appears when our device undergo Low memory or if any applications run in the background. Perform a hard reboot by removing your battery while the device is powered on and after reboot see if that problem appears .
You can press the menu key for a few seconds  it will pop up a screen which will show all running programs in the background ,generally five will always there ( Home, BBM, Message,Phone , Browser ) you can see if any other apps. are running .if any application run it may also be the cause of the problem.
Always try to Close Applications Correctly - Avoid using the End key to close applications as this simply minimizes the application and leaves it running in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select the Close or Exit option to exit the application.Don't leave your Browser open on any active website when not in use.
In addition have you enabled Memory Cleaner on your device?  Options > Security > Memory Cleaner,  is it enabled ? If it is then disable it because  It is also responsible for device  freezing and clocking. Also go through those KB it might help you.

Have you cleaned up your computer using the finder to delete files recenbtly?
If you have not deleted the original photos in error then backup your iPhoto library, depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your database

  • TWO PROBLEMS:( BLACKBERRY CURVE 9300) 1) Unable to send/receive e-mails 2) black square with a minute hand whizzing round

    Hello,
    I have a BLACKBERRY CURVE 9300
i would be most grateful if someone could help me with persistent problems, which ive previously enlisted the help of T-mobile to resolve but to no avail.
    1) I am unable to send/ receive e-mails, this has been an ongoing problem which seems to sort itself out for a short while then returns, i have been asked  to remove e-mail accounts from device and re-boot, and as i say works for a short time then starts again.
    2) I have this annoying black square in the middle of the screen with like a second hand whizzing round which can sometimes last ages. I was told by t-mobile this was due to not doing regular device updates, i have since done this and as i type continue to see this symbol.
Any advice/suggestions would be gratefully received.
    Thankyou.

The spinning clock is usually an indicator of low memory. Make sure you are completely closing apps your aren't using by using the close or exit option in the menu instead of just backing out of the app with the escape key. Also check your memory after you have rebooted your device. If it is still low then you may have to delete apps you absolutely don't need or use to get memory back.
As for the email issue I am assuming you have a data plan since you have tried to fix the problem with Tmobile. If you haven't done so you may have to re-register your phone on the network and or log into Tmobile's BIS site to resend your service books.

  • Cairo-clock with black background, while xcompmgr is running

    Hi all
I'm using fvwm-crystal as wm, with xcompmgr as composite manager, and it works perfectly.  But when I start cairo-clock, there is a black square background, which I think will appear only when composite extension is disabled.
Have you guys ever experience this?

I believe for the transparent background to work the WM has to support ARGB visuals. Last I checked FVWM didn't do this correctly (it uses the root visual instead of the one requested by the window being drawn) and so no true-transparency is going to work without a patch. That said, a patch was posted to fvwm-workers awhile back that made this work but it broke several other things (proper drawing of window borders).

''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4.0+ Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Don't select anything right now, just use "'Start in Safe Mode"''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shift key) to open it again.''
'''''If it is good in the Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

  • IMAQ image with black squares

Hi. I'm using LabView to take a series of images with a camera. When I
preview the image in the camera's software it appears normal. I use
Labview/IMAQ and the VIs that came with the camera. The problem is that
the output TIFF files have this nasty black square checker pattern. I'm
making 8bit images. I there something I can change in IMAQ or the
output as TIFF that could explain this problem? Or is it likely
something in the third party VIs? I can explain more if need be.
    Thanks,
    -SHane

    Shane--
The first thing to check whether it is the 3rd party VI's or not.  You didn't even mention what kind of camera you are using, but whether you have a framebrabber or not, if you go to Measurement and Automation Explorer and try to do a snap there do you still see this behavior?  This is where you can directly interact with the driver to see what the software is interpreting from your camera.  Depending on what type of camera you have you may need a camera file.  You can check at www.ni.com/camera to see if we have one.  If not, you might check with the manufacturer, if they have VI's they might also have the camera file.  If you respond back please include what type of camera and framegrabber you are using.  Also, what type of video signal does the camera send out?  [If its is a standard you won't need the camera file]  Just let me know and we can work from there.

    Hi Sardini,
The GPU FAQ clearly talks that the GPU features cant work same as on the virtual drivers like the physcial machine which is why you see the redraw.
Feel free to read the link below which talks about the same.

Anyone else seeing this or have any idea ?

OK after a little digging I figured out the problem. The VLC plugin was causing a problem. Possible related to the security update. I removed the file
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/VLC Plugin.plugin
    And Everything now works.

  • Image shares screen with a black square

Recently, whenever I start to edit a screenshot, the following happens -
    1. I take a screen shot. I am using a PC with Windows 7 operating system. I am using Photoshop Elements v. 12.1.
    2. I go to "New" in file and "Image from Clipboard"
    3. The image is now displayed with a black square at the right. Please note - this is a recent problem. I strongly suspect I selected a button that caused this, but I have no idea what button. I would love to know if other people have encountered this problem and, if so, how did you fix it?

    Hi,
Do you have two monitors with the screen extended on to the second monitor?
How are you capturing the screen?
If you only want to capture the active window, then try using Alt + PrtScn
Since you are using Windows 7, you could use the Snipping Tool. That enables you to select part of the screen and copy it to the clipboard.

  • Blank screen with a black square and question mark went start up

    Hi,
When I try to start up my Macbook pro it will only go to a grey screen with a black square with a question mark inside. Please please help!!!!

Using the disk utility (on first aid tab, which it defaults to) will not erase anything.
Of course if the issue is as I suspect, it's a moot point.
I suspect your Hard Drive is not being recognized. If it is not, then neither disk utility nor the installer will be able to even read the hard drive to let you do anything to it.
Have your backups? You're looking at a replacement hard drive most likely.
    Some things to try:
    Reset the SMC
--disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery
--hold in the power button for 10 seconds
--reseat the battery and reconnect the power adapter
    Reset the PRAM
--press and release the power button
--immediately after releasing the power button, hold down appleoption+PR and keep them held down until you hear the start up chime twice (I like to do it until it dings a third time.)
--release the keys after the chimes
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is time to back up your data if you have not already done so.
If you have another mac, you may be able to retrieve the data yourself using firewire target disk mode:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
Now if the host computer does not recognize the target computer, you may be looking at paying an authorized service provider or apple store to retrieve the data for you.
Of course you can send in the computer without doing any data retrieval or backups, but keep in mind the repair center it gets shipped do does not do ANY backup or data transfer. They will replace the hard drive and make sure the new one works, but the new one will be empty.

  • Importing Black Squares?

    Hi,
I am importing photos from my iPhone 4 into iPhoto and it is only displaying black squares when I import them?  I tried to view them and esport them to flickr to see if this was just a display error in iPhoto, but they seem to be black.
I have tried re-importing them and a few other things, but nothing seems to work.
    Thoughts?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Black square covering picture (PIP)

Just spent over 1hr on technical support troubleshooting an error with a black screen covering the picture on one of my tvs with a standard box. Symptom: TV screen shows a large black square that covers most of the screen. After hitting the menu button on the tv, the black square would disappear but only momentarily. Also when initially turning on the tv the black screen is not present. The technician walked me through multiple resets in an effort to troubleshoot. After the last attempt, he instructed me to wait 30 minutes while a full reset of the box ran and by the way also check the status of closed caption. Resolution: After turning the closed caption option off the black square covering the picture disappeared. Issue resolved, it's a good thing that the closed caption option is a luxury and we do not have any deaf  members of our household.

Sounds like you had your Closed Caption decoder set to one of the TEXT modes.  This is normally not used for closed captioning, but it is sometimes used for extra information, such as TV schedules and what not (hence the large black square).
If you want to look at Closed Captioning, it is usually on CC1.  SOMETIMES CC2 is also used, for alternate languages.

  • Installing a program, added password, all i get is a black square that says REPORT BUG and Setting up,in the middle says procesing login, what can i do? thanks

I'm sorry.  Too old to understand this stuff.  I'm sure this seems real stupid to you.  But I have no idea how one
would "right click on the Original iPhoto Library" (I know, I know, 'as stated").
Do I right click on the symbol in the dock??  Or open it first and then, . .  I can't find a way to right click on the word iPhoto in the top bar.
Or should I open the program you had me download.  There I can find something called "original iPhoto library".
When I "right click" on that I get some options.  None of them are "original folders".  There's "reveal library in finder", and "dupilicate library and "sort libraries".  I have no idea if any of these are what you want, or if any of these might change something.
When I clicked on "reveal library in finder" earlier on it showed me the copy of the photo library that I made a while ago, sitting right where I know it is on my desktop.  And if I click on that symbol it shows me all the pictures again.  Just like in my regular iPhoto files - all the thumbs are there, but most can't be opened to full sized.
Are we making progress here?  I'm sure this is frustrating to you.  This is just pictures of family.  Even the thumbs are nice to look at.  But this is nothing critical - like work related or anything.
    Thanks.
