Black Stainless Apple Watch Questions

Why is the Black Stainless Steel Watch only available at the highest tier? Why cant I purchase the black stainless steel watch with the sport band? Theoretically it should be the same price as the stainless steel that comes with the sport band? This makes no sense to me. Thoughts?

The people in the Apple Store won't be able to answer that either. I was there yesterday and asked the same question and the fellow I was talking to went in the back to see I guess the sales charts/info as to whether or not I could get the black Stainless Steel with another band and he said that according to the info they had, the answer was no. My reason was that I have three watches with metal link bands and wanted the sports band and one of the leather bands for the Apple Watch.

Apple is going to lose a lot of sales over forcing you to buy combinations you do not want. I went to the store to try one on. LOVED the space black stainless steel watch but the band that is attached to it is atrocious, bulky, heavy and uncomfortable. So, if I want this watch I have to waste $499 on a band I hate and buy an accessory band I do like. Well, I went in with every intention of ordering one. Now, eh, I'll just wear the comfortable one I have. Poor, poor choice to force bands on people. I have six iPhone six's in my family, I got to choose, seven MacBook pro's of varying sizes and age, four iPads of varying size and age, and the new 5K iMac. Now, the most personal item ever made is well, not very personal if I have to wear a bulky, uncomfortable band.

I have been browsing through the I-watch link and I didn't see much information regarding the security features the I-watch has connecting to the iPhone 6. How does the security feature work? Will the Apple Watch send an alarm if your iPhone 6 has been separated from you within a distance of 50-100 meters? "I could have left it on a train and I didn't realise until I noticed it wasn't in my bag when I got home". Does the Apple Watch connect with the app "Find iPhone"? If it does have an alarm feature, is it customisable? For example: It could be turned off and on at any time, distance settings before the alarm goes off? etc etc.
Also. I would like to ask if another feature would be available... Say that your friend is in a restaurant. I have no idea where the restaurant is!!! Could the Apple Watch detect where he is and instantly find me a route to his location? Not just by showing me a map, but also telling me where to walk in order to find him/her? If the watch doesn't provide such functionality, would it be able to connect it to my iPhone to do the job?

Black stainless steel case with black sport band?

I would like to order a Black Stainless Steel Apple Watch with a Black Sport Band but this option is not available for pre-order? The only band option available for pre order with the black stainless steel Apple watch case (not sport) is the Black Stainless Steel Band which I tried on and don't like. It's also way too expensive and I'd prefer to begin with the black Sport Band. Anyone know why this option is not being offered as Apple has billed the watch to be able to be compatible with most of the bands? Am I stuck ordering the silver stainless steel case with the black sport band that is available? Thanks for the help!

Apple Watch bands interchangeable

Sorry...I saw a note to put Apple Watch questions in the iPhone board, so I am.
I'm planning on buying the Apple Watch Sport. Are all the bands interchangeable or just the Watch Sport bands? I'm looking to get one of the leather bands but prefer space gray over stainless steel.

How do I exactly use Apple Watch with iPhone?

In iOS 8.2's Apple Watch app, the iPhone must be connected to Wifi or Cellular Data and Bluetooth. They must be connected to pair with the Watch. Lets say I've paired the Watch. If I disconnect the Wifi or Cellular Data, will the Apple Watch stop pairing?
How ow will I get phone calls and messages on the Watch?

Unfortunately no. I asked the same question when I went to the local Apple Store for my "try on" and as of now you would have to order the watch with the metal link band and the black sports band separately.

My skin allergy about stainless steels but I'd like to try to wear Apple Watch Sport, made form aluminum.
Is it suit for me? Do you test about any skin?

I find no mention of allergy to "Stainless Steel" but DO find lots of reference to allergy to the "NIckel Salts" that develop from low quality stainless steel - Nickel allergy has been pretty much put to bed in this thread > Is the Apple Watch Sport nickel free?
Conclusion of the allergy sufferer(s) was that the "surgical" quality of the Stainless Steel would likely be sufficient combined with smart wearing and cleaning practice.

Question about Apple Watch/iPhone and Car Audio/Bluetooth

I have a Toyota Vensa and when I get into my car, the iPhone properly connects with the car's Bluetooth for phone calls and audio. If I then receive a phone call - both the car/iPhone and Watch will ring.
But if I answer from the Watch, is there then a way to switch the call to the car's bluetooth system like there is is you answer with the iPhone?

If your iPhone is already auto-connecting itself to your bluetooth hands-free system in your car, you don't need to do all this work (and risk an accident while driving).
This is what the "handoff" feature is designed for:
If you answered on your watch, but really wanted it on your car's hands-free system, simply swipe the phone icon up on the iPhone's lock screen -- this will immediately transfer to the hands-free system! The phone icon will appear automatically on your iPhone's lock screen, whenever you are on a call on your Apple Watch.
Note: the "handoff" feature goes away if the iPhone is unlocked -- so if it's already unlocked, you just have to lock it again or you won't see the phone icon to swipe up. The iPhone doesn't require (or allow) you to unlock it for the audio call handoff to work.
The instructions DannyWoods posted work fine once the phone is unlocked, but again, I think it's more risky than just doing the swipe motion on the left side where the phone icon will be. And as long as your iPhone does automatically connect to the speakers anyway (which it will do if you have previously paired it with your bluetooth hands-free system in your car), then it will work instantly with no other hassle.
I wish there were an easier way, but at least it's down to one gesture (swipe up on iPhone). There really should be a button on the watch to let you transfer it (since it has that button in all other use-cases, but not with a call in progress). It's dumb that I have to reach into my pocket and pull out my phone to transfer it to the hands-free system, but that's how it is. :-(

Apple Watch Expected Delivery - Purchased at 12:10AM 4/10/15

I purchased my apple watch as soon as I possibly could this morning. The website was unresponsive for the first 10 minutes then finally I could place my order. My question is, is anyone going to receive their watch on the 24th. If so, what one did you order. I ordered the apple sport, 42mm in space gray with the black sports band and it says it will ship in 4-6 weeks. Is this just an error in their processing?
Please let me know your discoveries. Thanks

My guess is that if you didn't get into the Apple Store website for over 10 minutes, thousands got in and ordered before you did. Many people followed the tips & tricks and had very little to do when the watch was released for sale. They had already searched, discovered and decided upon their choice and had marked it as favored in their account. They had already logged their credit card into place in their account, as well as their billing & shipping address and then they activated 1 - click purchasing. All those folks had to do was 4 or 5 clicks when they got into the Apple Store website and their purchase was made and in the queue for the available stock.
The other big tip was to use the iOS Apple Store app on an iOS device; iPhone, iPad, iPod because they seem to connect to the Apple Store online more easily than the website in a browser on a Mac or PC. I connected with the Apple Store app on my iPad. I was connected by 12:03 am, clicked my account, clicked Favorites, clicked the price, it turned to Purchase, I clicked purchase, the order was presented for approval with my credit card, billing and shipping address pre-filled and I approved the sale. I was done between 12:04 - 12:05 and out of there.
Not the same watch as you, but the one that I wanted.
