Blackballed !

Though I use the same procedure, since yesterday the newly scanned pics won't remain in the iLibrary.
They are duly imported there, I can " metadata " them.
I close iPhoto, and later when I open that iLibrary again, they have gone. Where ? I don't know !
There are over 2300 pics in that iLibrary, and I have other iLibraries.
Any good idea ?

If Beverly's suggestion doesn't do the trick try the following: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options. See that will resurrect the library.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

I want Apple to know that an App I purchased is a scam. How can I get this through to them?

I have contacted the iTunes support line but they keep telling me to contact the dveloper of the app.
The problem I reported on the iTunes "Report a Problem" link is that the app developer in question doesn't exist anymore as far as I can tell. If you search for "Lottosuite - Powerball & Mega Miliions" on the app store and then click on the link for the developer web site it attempts to take you to http://www.lottosuiteapp.com/ which Safari says doesn't exist. If you try to click on the Support link it takes you to http://www.broadbentapps.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi.
I don't want a refund (it was only 99¢ after all) but I don't want this developer to continue to rake in profits for an app that does not work and has no contact information available to the consumer. Apple states it isn't responsible for the quality of an app but I'm sure they would be upset if they realized they had a scam artist dealing through their App Store. Problem is no one will hear me out. They keep passing the buck and telling me to contact the developer. Duh, that is my problem man.
I have tried calling Apple but will not pay $29 to report a problem they should take care of themselves.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
This has become my mission and I will not rest until this developer becomes responsible for the apps it provides or is removed and blackballed by Apple.

With Printopia, any printer that you can connect to your Mac will appear on your iPad as long as they are on the same wi-fi network. Try Printopia to see if that border goes away. Good luck!

Outright USB bus power deterioration?

2009 MacPro
I'm so confounded and tired from this I'll just state the symptoms in bullet fashion
• Powered Rosewill hub on one of the 3 rear USB ports: each of the 7 hub ports has been going out one after another the last 2 years. I just pull out a cable and move it to the next one.
• Last couple years whimsical random ports not working (just switched to a dif. port)
• With each upgrade (10.8, 10.9) thought it would solve the problem but doesn't
• Yosemite put me over the edge. I can't even keep 2 thumb drives in the ports for data transfer until one unmounts
• Self powered Toshiba USB 3.0 drive oes pretty good on 27" LED display hub-port
• Almost impossible to even boot with a key held down:Option for boot drive, PRAM zap, etc.
• After CCC boot drive cloned to Toshiba for Yosemite prep, would not pick it up after 'Startup Disk' selected as such and restarted. Defaulted to internal normal boot
• Haven't used the Superdrive in years, even replacement drives would almost never work.
• Four 4tb internal 3.5's running over all 4 sleds perfectly on SATA power. Main boot drive/OS is on OWC DDS 256gb Accelsior on the PCIe slot
I don't know how I'm supposed to run a hardware test seeing as the bootable you're supposed to launch from would not appear anyway.
IF I knew grabbing a USB 3.0 PCIe card to pop into the rear would be a cheap workaround I would gladly do it! WOuld that run on a different power supply than the rest of the USB system, IF the current powering these ports is compromised in strength? But why would even powered ports be dropping out, such as the Cinema ports etc.
Help!!
Don't want to run this to the Genius Bar but if these symptoms can trigger a diagnosis from any of the experienced here it would help a lot

ps - maybe it's a simple circuit thing on the board? A module? The power supply internally? What I do NOT want to hear is motherboard stuff...that would put this at a fix more expensive than the machine is worth!

I'm doing this one primarily because it requires power and one of the useless Superdrive bays (one is a BluRay reader that functioned correctly for all of a week) can afford me that source. Even though some there said that they have a number of spinners running off the PCIe power, (4 port doesn't require additional juice) I still feel more comfortable attaching one with power. I can add their hubs too, one has an SD reader built right in! I'll mount the powered aluminum MacBook version right under my desk.
The one thing though, I believe with all PCIe based 3.0 cards - when the Mac is put to sleep, the power stops and drives get disconnected. I don't think it's a terrible issue for me, since it will be taking a drive for backup purposes. I don't know if it's a USB 3.0 shortcoming or a PCIe thing. But my main boot is an OWC Accelsior SSD and it's on a PCIe card so I have to think it's more of a USB thing.
All the other weird things with the clean install and upgrade are much smoother now. Only thing that makes me nuts is with every OS upgrade I can see a little more lag in Graphics power when it comes to Spaces switching! 512 is about hitting it. Looking at new ones I'm only seeing 3 or 4GB hitting the $240 range. I'd settle for a 1.5 for $100 but don't think I'll find one of those.
With each boot the whole system is running smoother, Lightroom, entire CS6 suite, you name it.
The 3rd party Lightning cables were spotty at best in sync capabilities for that and iPad. My original is stuck in my car head unit. With Yosemite forget it!
Apple blackballed all cables NOT Apple. I borrowed a buddies and my iPad and iPhone read without any issues. "Trust" this computer and finally have all 3 in harmony.
Finally, the USB drives keep dropping with gb's of transfers. 2 SanDisk Fit's can't transfer to each other.
I've come to the conclusion that the cost of a motherboard and labor to install (IF it's the USB controller) I might as well get an identical 4,1 2009 2.66.
and drop my 16tb of internal plus OWC SSD and 16gb RAM. And just sell this one for a hundo less with the understanding that the USB is sketchy!
Makes sense right?
I'll play around with the Bluebery iMac key/mouse and nothing else later on, but I doubt it'll make a difference

Cannot e-print from my ISP

Have tried from 3 different accounts using FireFox and i-phone - but cannot print using my ISP Frontier Communications (my addresses are all epix.net (Frontier bought them out 3 years ago). I can print from my store e-mail (awiweb.com) and from my mobile me account. Is Frontiered "blackballed" for some reason??? Is there a work-around?

Data Overages for first time with no change in usage. What's up?

I see there are numerous posts about unexplained data overages. I think Verizon is manipulating the data changes somehow. I have always used about 2 gig a month, but had a 4gig plan. Never went over. Then one morning I had a text that I had used 75% of my date. Somewhat surprised, but I drove to work, none of my devices on. When I turned on my phone it said I had used 90% and within minutes said I had exceeded my data. I called Verizon with a lot of questions as how could that have happened. I was not given a response that made any sense but was told they would increase my data plan to 6gig for no additional charge. I agreed. Now at the end of this month the same thing happened. I went over my 6 gig with no changes in my usage. I do not stream music or watch videos, etc. No way I could have used that much. It showed I used 1.6 gig in one day, that's what I used to use for a month. Something is not right. What agency governs cell phone companies. We all need to report this.

It all comes down to those "pre-installed apps" and their updates that just won't stop downloading.
today, I realized that my phone was running kinda slow, so I went into the application manager and started deleting apps, and their updates. It took me a good hour to get all the useless ones out of the way, when I accidentally deleted all my contacts. Since my contacts was really the only thing I cared about, and now they're gone, I decided to go ahead and do the factory reset. Why not? So I started all over again like it was a new galaxy s5. My contacts came back no problem, and so didn't all those useless apps I deleted, so on my way back to the app manager to start deleting them again... I checked my data usage and how many gigs I had just freed for myself... a whole 8.57G out of 16G now freed up! nice right? Yea, then I see that little exclamation point in the top left corner, it said 30 apps have been upgraded, and there was nothing I could do to stop this, I don't want to go through all those apps and updates for a 3rd time. I thought, how much data is that gonna use? Turns out... 2.74Gs in 20 seconds and that was olny just 20apps, out of what 130 apps? That are being updated regularly everyday
Now I'm starting g to make sense of it now... my parents knew we were being had, for awhile now, just didn't know how. We've been talked into getting a 4G family data plan, charged over 900.00$ verizon bill, charged for data overages where we too don't use our phones for anything other than phone calls, or looking up something on the net. No music, no movies, none of that fun stuff. I see that in a matter of 20 seconds our data limit of 3G is just 1/4 away from gone, and that's just, what? 1 or 2 unwanted updates away from another overage charge? So I try to stop these updates by selecting in the Google play settings "do not update apps" but that simply doesn't work. It seems by simply connecting to WI-FI will negate my command.. and the updates keep coming. Only by shutting off both mobile data and WIFI seems to stop the updates... temporarily. It's hard to explain but it looks like verizon is using Google play app updates to max out data, and verizon is charging us for overages 2 and 3 times a month! They manipulate the data to make money, Stealing, and we're not the only ones, you caught them too ^^^. This is criminal, and something does indeed need to be reported to a proper governing body above verizon.
This has been going on in my family unnoticed for years, until now.
Resulting in ridiculous bills, coupled with false overage charges. Causing nothing but heartache and stress for my family, but we still pay... God I don't know why. But we do, and they just keep Taking.
I found out their heartless corporate bullying tactics against the little people, and you did too ^^^ they just keep throwing new "plans" and "6 more gigs" at us.
They sneak these updates right under our noses, blow up our data and threaten us to pay, or else we'll be blackballed from cable/Internet everywhere.
this is nothing else but criminal, rigging the game.
We don't want more gigs, we want our money and out mental health back!

Access to user's outlook calendar without their knowledge/permission?

No problem. Sorry to seem shady. Ive been a spiceworks lurker for a while, and also, I also felt this was a little odd for a request, but the company handbook does state that any emails/information etc are property of the company, and all of that jazz.
I think i figured it out anyhow.

So, I got a weird request from a manager of a department recently. She wants to be able to view one of her reports calendars (We use outlook 2013 attached to office 365) without their knowledge/permission.
Ethical objections aside, is this even possible? Nothing I have found supports this, and I am perfectly fine telling her that it is not possible. Aside from logging in as the user, and sharing the calendar (which they would be able to see it is shared, anyhow), is this possible?

gotta admit ne pats defense and offense were just too good...couple turnovers and jets = dead ducks ( making that gargling sound in throat as they bit the dust ).

My dad was into gymnastics pretty much entirely ( a little into figure skating ). not baseball or football. bowling a little as a " do it " sport, not a "watch it " sport. The only "watch it " sports us kids did ( only had 1 tv ) was gymnastics and skating olympic stuff mostly but some other competitions too.
Gymnastics is weird in a way...( as was my father ). It is extremely personal ( about beating your "self" ..doing better than you did " before" ).. very individualistic ...even though you are on a " team "... it's just points mostly for the team to win , accumulation of individual scores... father was very anti weight lifting, very opinionated about these things to his kids... so even when I got into wrestling, for example, or football ..in high school, he was very critical of any weight lifting that was part of the practice and training. He " coached " or " taught " gymnastics on Saturdays at my high school in a sorta unofficial (unpaid ) position...so me and my brother got sorta hooked into that more than doing football, wrestling etc. In fact, we started doing gymnastics when we were like 1 year old.. and it is so stated in some newspaper clipping by howard cosell (when he was a newspaper columnist before radio ) interviewing my father after a ny athletic club gymnastic competition ( trials for olympics sorta thing )... " Yes, Howard, I have 3 children, and they are already doing floor excercises and some tumbling... kirk, age 3, rodney age 2, and susan age 1 .... " that sorta thing. We were famous !
We could roll on the floor with pet dog real good !
This gives you general idea how I never got into "watching" football seriously, or baseball...I am basically ( like my brother ) a sport idiot re: following football and baseball like normal american kids. Of course I did follow favorite teams for a while in high school... ( oakland raiders were my favorite with a couple other teams kinda floating in and out of my interest ) but I have only been to 2 pro baseball game, never to any pro football game, and only 1 college football game ( army navy as guest of family who's son went to west point .. they got season tickets and tailgate spot etc ).
Baseball games were 1 polo grounds where the only thing I remember is having a hot dog and I dropped my plastic thing of mustard and for some stupid reason stomped on it... and it squirted mustard like it was shot from a canon onto this lady's leg ( stocking ).. and she yelled at me and I felt bad and said I was sorry and she tried to get it off but I think her leg was stained with mustard forever.
Other baseball game was yankee stadium box seat next to yankee dugout roof as guest of guy who's brother in law owns the boxes complete with free parking nearby and tickets to some yankee club after games. fancy seats ( 4 of them ). I put my beer on the roof of the yankee dugout, it was like right in front of me. I got a ball thrown to me by a yankee after pre-game practice ( as they came to dugout to start game ). Actually he faked me out at first...went to throw, I ( startled by his hand action ) put my hands up fast to catch.. but he didnt throw ( like faked me out )... but then as he disappeared under dugout roof his hand came up and flipped the ball right to me ( which of course I caught since I am so quick with my reactions due to rolling with dog when 2 years old ).
So thats my only baseball story of any interest. It was the game " after" the boston yankee game with the pine tar incident in boston with billy martin.. so this was the next day IIRC in ny with boston again... yankees won. and didnt have to do tricky stuff to win ( like complain about pine tar ). The mustard story doesn't get told often.
So now you know that I am a total idiot re: sports in general due to total immersion in gymnastics, and most of THAT was just doing it, not following particular athletes ( though of course some became sorta famous at the olympics etc ) We had high bar and parallel bars IN THE BACK YARD ! LOL... I once saw a friend try a giant swing ( we had no mat.. just grass ) and fly off and landed about 20 feet away ... he let go cause all the skin on his girly hands got ripped off as he was twirling around... goes to show you... be careful when trying new things.
His eyes had rolled up into his head so you could only see " white" for a little while... but then he came back to life ( whew ! ) . We quit for the day doing gymnastics.
Sooo, in answer to your question.. given my idiocy about these matters.. the Jets ( from Titans at polo grounds and 1 season I think at the new Shea Stadium --where the METS were ) with change in ownership and all that going on... could have been from west side story ( cause I think there's a long history of some stadium dreams over on the west side of manhattan ( which would be a total nightmare for traffic by the way ) ).. and since it rhymes with METS maybe.. and also maybe because when you go to shea stadium all you can hear most of the time are GIANT JETS FLYING LOW OVERHEAD on way to and from LaGuardia Airport which is like 100 feet away from home base.
A lot of New Yorkers liked the Jets at first because Joe Namath go them to the superbowl and won, much to the surprise of everyone on earth and mars too.. but really because it was a ny stadium instead of NJ ( everyone in NY makes fun of people in NJ ). The giants suffer for this cause a lot of people call them the NJ Giants. And now ( of course ) a lot of people call the Jets the NJ Jets too... since they left shea stadium ( which was a mess because they had to go on road games till the METS were done playing baseball...and then that stadium on the west side got blackballed again by a couple lawmakers in Albany ( they actually OWN the city and state, Sheldon Silver and some other guy ). Im not really up on that whole history of west side stadium but in part the cablevision guys who own madison sq garden dont want competition. They got it with the javits center for conventions but not for sports teams.. so I guess they're happy for now.
Now we got citi field and met life field and will probably rename the midtown tunnel " JP Morgan Tunnel " soon... but as I say, .... I don't go to any of these games and travel as little as possible so who cares.
