"BlackBerry App World is not currently available in your country"?

I've been getting this message in the last couple days when I try to launch App World on my PlayBook. I am in Canada. What gives?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

On the contrary, it's not odd for an IP for a wifi router to show some odd location, like Los Angeles, etc., especially if you were connected to a hotel wifi source, a starbucks, or something.
Anyway, you got it sorted, that's good.

Do you have a SIM card in the device (some Verizon devices do come with one inserted, and in the past that might have been the cause of the device being recognized as NOT from the appropriate carrier.
Remove the SIM card if you do have one (for Verizon, the SIM does nothing for you anyway as long as you are not traveling internationally).

  • Commerce is not currently available in your country/region psn

Good day,I tried to purchase content from PSN store through PC but once I get to Order & Pay and confirm, this appears. It happened to me week ago as well.I managed to purchase content by buying it directly on PS3 store but I would like to know why this happens because I don't want to miss some content because I won't have console with me. My PSN in from Czech Republic and the content I was trying to purchase were 2 games (Natural Doctrine and Surgeon Simulator) from Black Friday sale.

Here is my fix for this problem. I use credit card as payment methods. When ever I get that message"commerce is not currently available in your country/region psn" I go to Account Management Site: https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/liquid/confirm-sso!input.actionLogin and go to Account > WalletYou will find Payment Methods section. The you can add new Credit Card or edit your curent Credit Card info.If you already have Credit Card added press Delete and then Yes.Then Press Add Credit Card and add same card you just deleted. And that will fix the problem temporarily.I say temporarily, cause it will work for about 10 days and the you will start getting same message. Then it's just the mater of doing same thing over again.I guess that Sony's servers automaticly "sing out" your credit card for safty reason.Any way I hope that this works for you.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please check this page to ensure you meet the minimum requirements (including if it is available in your country):
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/download.jsp
I do not see Yemen listed as an available country for BBWorld...which begs the curiosity as to how you were able to previously use it. Perhaps the prior version of it you were using was certified for your country, but now your country has dropped from the list
It's actually impossible for anyone here, in this user-to-user community, to know for sure the answers to any of these questions. All we can know is that Yemen is not listed as an available country, and hence cannot be expected to function for you. We cannot know if it was previously listed but has been dropped, why that may have happened if it did, nor why you were able to previously use it. All we can know is that you cannot expect it to function based on the information we have available.
Do of course be aware that AppWorld is merely a portal, vending apps developed mainly by others. As such, it is not usually your exclusive procurement source -- there are others that you can try:
    AppWorld in selected countries
    MobiHand everywhere in the world
    Handango everywhere in the world
    BPlay everywhere in the world
    GetJAR everywhere in the world
I have found that there are very few apps that are exclusive to AppWorld. You can search the on-line catalog and then search out other procurement sources, including quite often the developer website itself.
Lastly, do understand that BlackBerry does not have unilateral control over the availability of AppWorld. They have to ensure that they and their partners meet local laws and legislation for operating an e-commerce system -- and that can take time, especially given the necessary governmental involvement of each jurisdiction.
    Good luck!

  • Help- 5 yr old messed with the settings and now App world will not open....

My lovely daughter decided to mess with the settings. Not being able to read- she just did a bunch of touching pictures... JOY... now when I go to open App WOrld it tells me "Blackberry App works is not currently available in your country". We are in America, and the other PLaybook in the house still functions as per normal.
Any ideas what my 5 yr  old pressed????

If you backed the Playbook up on your PC using the Desktop Manager software, you should be able to easily restore it.
You can also do a wipe on it, and then re-initilaize it back to its birthday.

  • "the item you've requested is not currently available in the indian store"  error while trying to open App Store/iTunes on iPhone

    Hi All,
Whenever i try to open the App Store/iTunes store on the iphone, i get the error  "the item you've requested is not currently available in the indian store".
This happens whenever there is link for an App that i want to download and it happens for each and every app which is easily available on iTunes from PC. I dnt know what the problem is because of my friends who has an iPhone is able to access it, so its even more weird. The only difference is that she has an legally unlocked iPhone and i have the "other one". Please help...because it is very frustrating to everytime go on to the PC to download an App.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • TS3297 iTunes puts up a message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Hong Kong Store." I had not requested anything from the HK store at that point, and I have never used any store other than the HK one. How I can clear that messag

I've been running iTunes on WinXP for years with few problems.  I have all my iTunes files on an external USB drive. I just bought a new PC running Win7, 64-bit.
I connected the external USB drive to the new PC and installed 64-bit iTunes on it. When iTunes started up, I pointed it at the iTunes directory in the external drive, using Edit > Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Media Folder Location. It showed a progress bar that it was updating the iTunes Library. I signed in and authorized the new machine. I have one spare authorization.
Then iTunes put up a message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Hong Kong Store." I had not requested anything from the HK store at that point, and I have never used any store other than the HK one.
When I click OK, the iTunes Store page remains blank, apart from saying "iTunes Store" in the middle of the page.
I went to "View My Account" and pressed the Reset button to "Reset all warnings for buying and downloading items", but that doesn’t fix this particular warning. I also tried Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Warnings and Rest Cache.
But still, every time I click the “App Store” button in the iTunes Store window, the message appears. If I click the Books, Podcasts or iTunesU buttons, these display normally.  So I’m stuck with being unable to purchase apps, other than through my iPad and iPhone.
If I move the external drive back to the XP machine, the same thing happens.  If I go to another PC - a notebook running Vista - everything is normal.
Any idea how I can clear that message?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Further info on my question above.
I have tried re-validating my credit card, which apparently fixed it for some.
I have also tried uninstalling, re-downloading and installing again.
Neither of these steps fixed the problem.

  • Logic pro 9 not currently available in the Australian store

Not sure if anyone can help as this seems to be a bit of a recurring issue worldwide from what I can tell (across various countries stores), but here goes.
My MacBook recently died and I am now using a new iMac. Amoungst other programs, I had purchased Logic Pro 9 from the Australian App Store in early 2012 and had installed it on my old MacBook. Given the MacBook no longer boots up (I know, a different issue to be sorted out another time), I know find myself needing to install it on the iMac.
When I log into my Apple account/ID, 'Logic Pro' appears under the 'Purchases' tab, hgowever when I select the 'Install' button on the right, it doesn't seem to do anything (it greys out and then goes back to the original button state saying INSTALL). I then click on the software title (i.e. Logic Pro) on the left-hand side of the screen and it presents a message as follows:
Item Not Available - The item you've requested is not currently available in the Australian Store.
I spent considerable money on this product and do not wish to buy the new version (i.e. Logic Pro X).
Is there a way I can download a version of Logic Pro 9 from the Australian Store?

Its worth noting that while Logic Pro 9 itself will not be available in the App store to purchase.. because it is no longer sold (which is what you saw when you clicked on the icon itself) it should still be available under the purchased tab.. (which by your description, it is) so you can download and install it again, having purchased it prior to it being discontinued.
Make sure you have run iTunes first and signed in there using your Apple ID and password..and authorized tthe new Mac via the iTunes menu option... and you may have to agree to the terms and conditions first before you can actually downlaod it from the App store's purchased tab... This is a known quirk of how the App Store works.... that you must agree to the terms and conditions on a new Mac and may have to authorize that computer in iTunes before the App Store app will function correctly.
