  • Q10 Blackberry Calls Fail on Skype

    Just put Skype on my Q10 Blackberry after setting it up on my home computer.   Home computer works fine.  When contacting others on blackberry screen goes dull and says call failed?  Same with received calls.   Contacts say their phone says "busy".   Not sure what to do.   Tried deleting app and loading a new one from Blackberry Apps.

    Dear Readers,
    Welcome to the Community!
    Thanks for your inquiries.   In order for the Skype Community to help you, some more information would be helpful:
    - Operating system (version and updates installed)
    - Skype version used
    - Which wireless carrier you are on
    - Please clarify: are you both attempting to call another Skype user, or a fixed line or mobile number?
    Thanks in advance.
    On behalf of the Skype for BlackBerry team,
    Best regards,

    There is an issue with facetime at the moment http://www.idownloadblog.com/2014/04/17/facetime-connectivity-issues-reaching-ma ny-ios-users/

    Hi, I use facetime regularly with my parents who live outside US and it stopped working. Their ipad2 rings,says connecting..and then 'call failed'. Upgrading their iOS5 (or 6) is not a option as my parents do not know to do this. I came across forums where this issue is mentioned on apple support and cnet.
    Is there another option apart from upgrading ?

    Well, in his defense, his parents bought him the player so I guess we can't blame him. Though the 6 GB versions were available in November so I guess they really did get 'nervous' about Christmas and like to get their shopping done early! Kudo's to you for trying to remain with the Creative line but for what you're looking for it's obviously not the player for you. Creative seems to be fine-tuning their line for the audio crowd. I'm into mp3 players for the audio. Sure, the ability to watch video's and look at pictures on a decent screen is a plus but for me at least, it's all about the music. And with music, 6 GB is more than enough. Heck, 8 GB would have been more than enough for me. I'm a subscriber to Napster-to-go, so I don't feel the need to carry 00 plus GB of stuff on my portable player. I honestly don't understand the desire to watch movies or TV shows on tiny little screens. But you're also talking to a guy who doesn't watch television. What a complete waste of time and brain cells. Probably the **competitor products we can't discuss here** or one of those players would better suit your needs. Companies are definately picking their niche markets carefully and Creative's decision to not offer hard dri've players any more seems to definately be saying bye-bye to that market. I can't say I blame them. Hard dri'ves eventually give up the ghost and are quite delicate for people on the go. Good ridance, I say. Let Apple, Zune and all the others cater to the Z generation's need to be spoonfed their video/TV addictions anywhere and everywhere. I'll pass. It's one thing to be able to enjoy some music on the go and enhance an otherwise dull work day or dri've. But movies/TV shows at work, school, or wherever? Please. Cut the cord! Just my $.02 - YMMV! I am currently in Cameroon, Africa and after arriving here, I added Global services to my plan in hopes to be able to use my phone to call local numbers.  When I dial local numbers in Cameroon, with or without the country code, the call fails.  I suspect it may be that the phone is 3G and this area only supports 2G.  Help!

    cctga,
    We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble while traveling. We definitely want to make sure you have all available options. Here's a nifty agorithm to fill an array of primes, using a forever loop with a labeled continue statement, from Horton's Beginining Java:public class MorePrimes
      public static void main(String[] args)
        long[] primes = new long[20];    // Array to store primes
        primes[0] = 2;                   // Seed the first prime
        primes[1] = 3;                   // and the second
        int count = 2;                   // Count of primes found - up to now,
                                         // which is also the array index
        long number = 5;                 // Next integer to be tested
        outer:
        for( ; count < primes.length; number += 2)
          // The maximum divisor we need to try is square root of number
          long limit = (long)Math.ceil(Math.sqrt((double)number));
          // Divide by all the primes we have up to limit
          for(int i = 1; i < count && primes[i] <= limit; i++)
            if(number%primes[i] == 0)             // Is it an exact divisor?
              continue outer;              // yes, try the next number
          primes[count++] = number;               // We got one!
        for(int i=0; i < primes.length; i++)
          System.out.println(primes); // Output all the primes

  • Thanks this was very useful.. I have a brand new iphone 4s unlocked version from singapore and I am having the same problem constant network fluctuations, no service, call failed, invalid sim, sim failure, bars fluctuating from 5 - 3 - 2 - 1, no signal/ba

    I have a brand new iphone 4s unlocked version from singapore and I am experiencing constant network fluctuations on my iphone , no service, call failed, invalid sim, sim failure, bars fluctuating from 5 - 3 - 2 - 1, no signal/bars searching etc... Ifeel miserable after trying out all the options changed multiple sims, tried multiple carriers, restored the phone back and have set-up as new device but the problem does not get solved... its is so frustrating that after investing on a world's most expensive phone you cannot enjoy the calling features which the phone offers which is the main thing you own the phone for.. Rest of the things are working.. The funniest part I am not able to make calls or receive calls but can access the internet..  I have tried every possible thing and really very frustrated with this iphone of mine...I hope the problem gets solved.. would anyone have any solutions to this problem.. Does it mean one should never update software as I hear that after updating to IOS.5.1 the problem has started coming and same has been with there.... Apple says its a hardware failure which is very difficult to digest as sometimes I get 5 bars and able to make and receive calls but 95% of the time I am unable to. If anyone has any solution I will be very happy if he or share can share the same. Many thanks. its so disgusting to experience this on top of this apple does not support global warranty for the phone as you need to go to the country from where you bought the phone for replacement.. Truly sad state of affairs.. very very very dissappointing.

    Have a look at this it might help

  • Unlocked Blackberry Curve - Not allowing phone calls - UK

    Hi all,
    Recently took ownership of new blackberry curve 8520 which was locked to Orange network. Have unlocked and tried using my existing phone sim (virgin), and presented with "call forwarding conditional" then "authorization failed"
    I tried a friends sim (they have a working BB), and this time I got "call failed" - For both sims, wifi works fine...
    Anyone can offer any advice what I should and can do? I was thinking the BB might be still previously registered which might be the problem?
    All answers much appreciated
    Big thanks

    Hello,
    It is possible that the unlocking did not succeed...you can check via this FAQ:

  • 8700 Call Failed

    I have a 8700 unlocked. Phone in branded Orange and I am using a Vodafone Contract Plan sim in it.  I am unable to make or receive calls. I keep getting Call Failed I cannot received text either.
    I have completely nuked the phone using jl_cmder, I get GPRS appear on the screen and at least 4 signal bars. I have upgraded OS to 4.5, I have no IT policy etc on the phone. But still cannot make calls
    Can anyone help.

    Hi,
    Thanks for that information.
    That means the problem is with your carrier. Its nothing to do with BB!
    Check this by putting the SIM Card into another mobile and try to make calls.
    You got the same message, didnt you?

  • Blackberry won't send/receive calls or texts but can still access internet.

    Hi,
    I have a blackberry curve 9300, it's with Orange but has been unlocked and has an o2 sim in it.
    A couple of weeks ago I lost the phone so I called o2 and they deactivated the sim then sent me a new one, which works perfectly fine. A few days ago someone called up my Dad saying that they had found my phone, but due to it having a lock on it they had to wipe the handset in order to get contact details. I got the phone back, put my sim in it and it won't do anything. It's recognising the sim fine but I can't send or receive calls and texts, yet I can still go on the internet. It used to work absolutely fine before I lost it, so I can't understand as to why it's suddenly not working. I went into o2 this morning but they wouldn't do anything as it's an Orange phone, and Orange wouldn't do anything as it was unlocked, so I'm stuck.
    Any clue as to why this is happening?
    When I try to send a text it has a red X by it and says - Retries Exceeded.
    When I try to call it instantly says - Call Failed.
    Your advice is VERY much appreciated! Pulling my hair out here - I miss my Blackberry and am currently stuck with my old LG.

    Calls and SMS are carrier functions. Your first step should havw been calling your carrier.

  • Supplementary Service error: general error/ Call failed

    Hi, guys please help, am very frustrated as I am not able to make or receive any calls or sms's. Everytime I try, i receive an immediate message saying " supplementary service error. or "call failed". When everybody else calls me it goes straight to voicemail.
    I tried the battery pull, I did the security wipe, I called the service provider, nothing seems to work. has any of you ever experienced this? what did you do? please advice.
    Under "manage connections" on the main menu, i checked the "service status" and it says not connected under "mobile voice". Other applications work very well, such as facebook, whatsapp, bbm and google talk.

    Hi Makhasane
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
                              There are no specific  workaround regarding this error but From what I have noticed  in most cases this " supplementary Service error " is resolved after replacing a new SIM , So I prefer you should try that option Or if your device is still under warranty contact your service provider.

  • My iphone 4 says call failed and message failed?

    It was locked to orange but just had it unlocked to work on my T-mobile sim. Had this issue even before I got it unlocked. I have just bought this off of somebody and it keeps saying call failed/call ended just after I have dialled and then when I try to send a message it says message failed, however, I can get onto the internet using my signal alone and not connecting to Wi-fi. Incredibly confused as to why this isnt working. I have full signal. Done a full restore on 2 different computers still with no result. Really at the end of my tether with this, someone please help.
    Operating system 4.3.5
    Thanks

    I faced similar issue where I was getting signal, able to receive calls, use all data services but everytime i went to make a call it said "Call Failed"
    You need to try to go to Settings>>Phone>>>Show My Caller ID>> Ensure it is On.
    Even if it appears on try switching off and on.
    Mine was not allowing to switch off and on but something I did worked and then able to make calls.
    Also try Settings>>>General>>>Reset>>Rest All Settings
    I faced issue of not being able to make calls after switching my sim card from postpaid to prepaid. First it dint recognise the sim at all then on pluggin in to itunes i was able to activate and atleast receive calls, use all data only everytime i tried makinng a call it said call failed.
    When i restored to factory settings it worked. However on restoring my backup i faced the same issue.
    Apple local support was most unhelpful saying that i had to forget my data and work with a new phone without contacts, apps, etc

  • Call failed error

    Recently my phone stopped being able to make toll free 800 calls, local and long distance work fine but when I tried to call my bank and other companies 800 numbers I get a call failed error , not sure if it is my phone scewing up or what but I used to be able to call toll free numbers and all of a sudden was not able to anymore. Any suggestions or tips

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    Anytime random strange behaviors creep in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Best!
