BlackBerry 8330 BES email Icon missing

I originally setup my Blackberry with Internet Web mail to my work Exchange account.  It worked and I had a message icon and a email icon.  Email form work would not arrive instantly, but would arrive.
We then installed the BES Professional at work and set up the blackberry to connect via BES.  I then would get email messages in my email folder (icon) twice; once instantly (From BES), and later I would get the same message from the Internet side.  I then deleted the Internet email account to stop the duplication; however, the end result was that the email icon disappeared leaving only the message icon.
How do I get the BES email Icon reloaded?  I have resent the service books, and reregistered.  I also reestablished the internet account; however, the BES traffic does not appear instantly as it did at first.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I found my answer on in the following Blackberry knowledge base article "See KB03151 for information about the role of service books in email account integrations with BlackBerry® Internet Service accounts. Because of the way service books function, there is no icon on the Home screen of your BlackBerry smartphone for individual email messages delivered by a BlackBerry Enterprise Server."

  • Blackberry 8330 - Deleteing email off both Blackberry & Home Computer

    I currently have a Blackberry 8330, v4.5.0.186 (Platform 3.4.0.59).
I used to be prompted to delete emails off both my blackberry and my home computer's Windows Mail.  I think after updating the Blackberry, this option was no longer available, which requires me to read emails on my Blackberry and then to have to delete them off my home computer.
Does anyone know of a way that I can restore this function to my Blackberry?
    Thanks in advance.

When you say "updating the BlackBerry" do you mean you updated the software or you upgraded the device from an older device?
When you open an email, scroll up into the headers.  Next to "Received Using" does it list the email address or does it say unknown?
If it says "unknown" you may just need to resend your service books.
Go to the icon on your device that says Email Setup (Manage Internet Email on some devices) and go into the setup for your email.  There is an option to "resend service books."
If it shows your email address then it doesn't hurt to go ahead and resend the service books anyway but then you'll need to:
Go into Messages >Options >Email Reconciliation.
Choose the Message Service in question (there may be multiple ones if you have more than one email address set up on the device.
Then change "Delete On" to "Prompt."

  • Email icons missing

I am having a strange email problem with my iPhone 3GS with OS 3.1.3. Occasionally, when I launch the email app, view a message, close the app, and then restart, the last message will display on screen without any buttons to go back to the inbox. The bottom 1/4" of the screen will also be black, and I am not able to navigate through email at all. This problem goes away if I turn the iPhone on and off, but sometimes it will take a couple times. This problem has happened before on previous OS updates also.
Does anyone know why this happens or a way to fix it?
Here is a screenshot of the problem:
    Thanks for your help.

Not sure what is causing this - I haven't experienced the same accessing more than one email account with every firmware version since the first with an original iPhone and 3G.
If no change after restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup and as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, likely your iPhone has a hardware problem.

  • Blackberry Email - Icons & Emails

Alright so I got a new Blackberry Bold and the guy helped me setup my email address in the store.  I wasn't getting my messages until I had to call into and 'activate' something.  So they did something and I started getting the emails HOWEVER when I created the email address it put that icon with my email address above the icon when I roll over it.  The real problem is that I'm not getting them in that box but instead getting them in the 'Messages' icon instead of the email icon like I did on my Curve.
Did I setup something wrong or *** is going on?
    Thanks!

this has been resolve.  I guess there is an option in the Options --> Inbox Settings --> uncheck the email accounts.

  • Blackberry email icon not opening

    Hi,
I have a brand new Blackberry Bold 9900 and am on Giffgaff with a Blackberry plan. When I try to click on the email icon in the setup section, it won't open. I have received an email registering my phone with the network and one from Blackberry service saying my account is now active. I would like to register my personal email.
    I have tried:
    1. running a diagnostics test
    2. registering using host routing table in advanced options
    3. going onto mobile.blackberry.com per a lot of forum advice to see if I can find 'communication' and register my email that way
    4. going onto blackberry.com and trying to register my email using PIN and IMEI - it says that I am not registered with the network
    5. taking the battery out while on and rebooting
    6. I have looked for a factory reset, but there appears only to be a security data wipe
I have also tried the online verification using my laptop and I have clicked the 'less secure' setting on my gmail to allow my blackberry to access it. It verifies some accounts but the email icon still won't open
I also, through my Blackberry browser went to www.blackberry.com/integrate and I am getting an 'unknown error' message
Beginning to think it's a Giffgaff problem not a BB problem as everything is pointing towards me not being registered - despite information otherwise!

    6. I have looked for a factory reset, but there appears only to be a security data wipe
Security Wipe is BlackBerry's own Factory Reset, It will delete all your Smartphone's Data.
try going to http://giffgaff.blackberry.com/ and register an account then you can use that to setup your Emails. If that doesn't work then I suggest you contact GiffGaff and tell them about your issue, your BIS plan probably wasn't provisioned properly.

  • Email Icon and application missing

I seem to be missing my email icon as well as the entire application....don't know what happened to it but cannot send or recieve email anymore....any help will be appreciated.

You need to download the 10.5.8 combo updater, then software update just in case anything is missing.   It doesn't matter if it is over the top of a previous similar download.    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3606.

  • Missing email icon

I've just updated the software on my Curve 8520 and one of my email icons has disappeared. I did have two, one work (Microsoft Exchange) and one personal (Hotmail), but now the Hotmail one has disappeared. I have tried to delete and add it again several times (along with turning off and on again between times) and it  accepted everything and said it would put an icon on the desktop, but it hasn't. The phone is clearly picking up the emails to Hotmail because I have new message notifications, but no way to get at them.

  • Missing persona email icon

Recently reloaded software to support enterprise activation for a new enterprise.  My personal email is being received in the main inbox as well as my enterprise mail.  However, I can't seem to get my personal email icon to display (thus I'm not being notified of new messages).  Do I need to go through software reload again?

    Hi there!
    I suggest the following steps:
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.

  • Message/email icon went missing from my screee on my Palm Pro

The message/email icon in my today screen does not show anymore. Even is a click on the message button on my phone nothing opens. When I go Start - Programs and look to the message icon it does not show.
Something happened in my phone and I think this function was deleted.
    Anybody had this problem?
    Thanks
Post relates to: Treo 750 (AT&T)

I tried everything, checked all the settings and nothing would work. Like said, something went wrong my phone because it deleted everything that is related with messaging.
The only way to fix it was to do a hard reset and install everything that I had in my phone before.
I knew something was wrong because every time I tried to turn off and on my phone it will still say I have a voicemail message even tough I did delete all of my messages the night before.
Thanks god most of my stuff is in my mini expansion card.
But still, very strange what happened today with my phone.

  • Groupwise alarms show up as 57456854 min on Blackberry 8330.

We are running BES for GroupWise 4.1.6.13 and Groupwise client 7.03 on all PC's.......seems that when an "alarm" in Groupwise calendar is set to hour, it will not sync correctly across to the Blackberry 8330 model......Instead, it shows as "57456854 min" on the Blackberry ??  Are there any fixes out there that will cure this issue?
That number can manually be changed on BBerry, but isn't practical to do that with several entries.  If anyone has any suggestions or know of a fix, please let me know....greatly appreciate it!

    Hi,
All your new mail shows up in the queue, They also show up in the globes icon with your email address under them.
When you delete, reply etc form the main queue, it is reflected in the "globe" email accounts as well. You do have a few options like creating drafts, saving emails confirmations. Etc.
Basically all messages SMS mms and email along with missed calls will show up in the main message queue.
Maybe I'm not explaining it right I don't know what the Verizon guy was talking about because there are no "filters"
setup. I have four email accounts, hence for of the email globes, I took them and put them into a folder that effectively clears the clutter. If you look at the design concept, it makes sense that all correspondence would go to one place, rather than hunting for emails in seperate icons.
    Does this help?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Logman has suggested some great advice.
Here is a very thorough way to search for unopened messages.
From the main message queue do a search:
    service=ALL SERVICES
    folder: ALL FOLDERS
    show: ONLY UNREAD
    type=ALL
    Thanks,

  • BBM and email icons won't disappear

My bbm and email icons won't disappear even when there are no messages. How can I fix this?

    PlayBook OS version?
    BBM version?
    bridge version?
please list so it can help others
I currently dont have the issue but am up to date on all the above.
To get BBMessenger on the PlayBook, you need 3 things:
Bridge update (1.0.0.83, I recomend 1.0.0.93 which is latest)
PlayBook OS 1.0.3 or higher (best to get the latest version of PlayBook OS.) current is 1.0.5.2342
BBM update (5.0.3.22) available on App World via your smartphone.
Links for Bridge if your carrier blocks it in app world.

  • Email Icon "be gone"?

    Hi All,
Anyone know how to remove a email icon after all emails have been read. I have this icon and even after I Reset the " Mark Prior opened" it still sits over the top. I have reset the phone in every one possible but it still there?
Anyone have a way to delete this icon.... Please.

Tips for clearing that unread message... try them in order.
If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
    Try these options:
    * Open your main Messages folder and highlight today's date, click the menu key and select Mark Prior Opened.
    * Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or with the BlackBerry powered ON, remove the battery and reinserting the battery)
    * View Messages > Saved Messages
    * View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
    * Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
    * Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)
    * Connect to Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced. On the right-hand pane is the list of data on your device. Scroll to the email messages database and highlight it, then below, select CLEAR. This will clear your device of all messages.
    * Wipe and reload your OS.
