Blackberry 8520 wont charge

I have an 8520 and I just came home from the hospital.  I have upgraded to the 5.0.0.822 op sys the phone battery died before I was able to get home.  When I go to plug it in after getting home it will not charge or even lite up when plugged in.  I have tried plugging it into the wall and the computer but I get the same reaction from both and that is nothing.  I have tried to pull the battery and it is still the same.  Does anybody have any suggestions for this? I am on the at&t network also.

Solid green? I'm not at all sure what that means. Try this...while still hooked up to the charger, remove the battery. Wait 5 minutes and then put the battery back in.
Good luck!

  • Blackberry 8520 wont turn on

My batter deid yesterday and i was unable to charge my phone for the whole night. I got a usb port and started to charge it on my laptop this morning. But only the LED red light comes on and it has been charging for over 2 hours now. I keep doing a battery pull but the bb still wont turn on. Please help me?

    Hey Stacyb22,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I'd suggest trying a different battery in the BlackBerry and if it still doesn't respond, contact your network service provider for exchange/repair options.

  • Blackberry 8520 wont sync previous dates in calander

    Hi there,
It is the 23rd June as I post this. I dont know why an appointment I entered on the Blackberry last week  wont sync in the usual way to outlook. The appointment was on 21st June. Also an appointment I entered on Outlook calander last week, also for the 21st June wont sunc on the Blackberry. Would be grateful for any help. I dont appear to have had this problem before. The sync was attempted this afternoon.
    Mikey

    Hello,
This occurs because a few settings may be off on your BlackBerry smartphone and on your BlackBerry Desktop Software. Have a look at this article http://bbry.lv/jQ9ha2 to make sure appointments are set to be kept forever and then navigate to BlackBerry Desktop Software and re configure the synchronization settings http://bbry.lv/jxCCRQ Make sure in step 7 you select to Transfer all scheduled items.
    Thank you

  • Blackberry 8520 wont open

ok so i was sendin a ping and my phone froze so did a battery pull. after which inseted it and it turned on. however, i am stil unable to put in my password to open the fone... the buttons are not responding, but i can see ow many calls i missed and pings and msg that i received. what is the problem?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
Good luck and let us know!

    PLEASE HELP ME
    Thank You
    Nathan

    Hey hakmilton,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest contacting your network service provider to look at possible repair and exchange options.  Since you tried a new battery and the LED won't come on, we can not even try reloading the device software.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • MY blackberry curve 8520 wont work ) :

    Hi.
I found an issue with my blackberry 8520 a day ago.
I texted my friend, Before going to sleep The letter key " A " was working perfectly fine.
I woke up the next morning, and i went to put my phone on charge because it was on 11%
When i came back, a friend had left me a message so i was going to reply him. I was going to reply  "ya"
and i was stuck with " Y " i couldn't type A at all. With this, my phone would auto lock itself, and i had to press any key till any box would prompt and allow me to continue. I couldn't answer any calls as well. So i did a restart and i couldn't switch back my phone! I then took off the battery and tried it again Nothing helped after that reboot. I have got no idea how i should fix this.

It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath, gym locker, sweaty face or pocket can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out.
    Does this sound likely?
It really is more common than you think.
    1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
    2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
    4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
*Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
*On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
*On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

  • Blackberry 9630 tour wont charge

My blackberry wont charge when I plug it in to the wall charger the battery sign comes up with a blue liightblo left it in for the night nothing happened. So I bought a new battery and then it started to work again, and it charged find . The other day I ran the battery almost flat but plugged it in but then it quit charging and then the phone died and it started all over again the blue ligthblo comes up both wont charge, does any one else have this problem

    Blue light, not RED light?
Odd, the blue light indicates a Bluetooth device is connected.
    Try this:
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage).

  • Blackberry 8520 totally broke, help?!

ok so one day my keypad started going funny, like the buttons were pressing by them-selves and it was writing random letters to my BBM contacts, so I removed the battery and lifted the front off of the phone, I moved the keypad a little bit and the keys were okay after that, but when the blackberry screen loaded up after id put the battery back in, my phone will not come on! It gets past the blackberry loading screen and goes onto the initialization (whatever it is) and then my screen fades off (like what happens when you don't touch your phone for a long time and the screen fades off) but if I try to press the buttons it still fades off, because my phone totally turned itself off, it wont charge so it eventually became extremely dead and it wont let me charge it, so I put my cousins battery (he also has 8520) and it came on, but the screen still fades away, I've only had the blackberry since November and I've had to have it repaired twice!!! Its not even a year old and I've had nothing but chaos, I'd really appreciate it if somebody could help me out or give me a solution as to what's wrong with it!! Please please please somebody help me

Use the BB Desktop Manager to back up your device data.
After that, go to this article in the support community from tmobile's website. http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2072
The article will show you how to reload your 8520's software using the Application Loader. That should fix the problem if the screen is not physically damaged or defective. If this does fix the screen problem, reload your phone's data back into the 8520 using the Desktop Manager.

  • Blackberry 8520 dead

HI so i have this blackberry 8520, its not working. Dead, no blinking green light, no red light. It was working fine few days ago but suddenly i felt that the battery's hetting hot, literally. after a few hours, battery was already drained. I tried charging it but it wont charge, so i decided to buy a new battery. I used the new battery then my phone came back to life! HOWEVER, i noticed that the new battery is getting hot also just like what happened with my previous battery. I woke up in the morning and saw my bb dead again. Now, im trying to charge it for 2 dAYS cause i heard from a friend that her bb would usually charge 2 days if her battery was drained.   What should i do? Can THIS PROBLEM BE FIXED? I suppose that the fone's not that busted cause it works when the battery is new but it would just drain the battery.  HELP! thankyou so much!

I would also like to know what is wrong cause my bb is doing exactly the same... HELP please?

  • Blackberry 8520 curve hangs, suddenly white screen comes and the only solution is to re-insert battery with power source on?

My Blackberry 8520 curve suddenly hangs giving a white screen and when i restart it - the screen remains white. After i put it into charge - then only a successful start is done. So the only solution as of now i have - is whenever my blackberry hangs - i need to remove the battery - insert it again - and immediately put it into charging via USB/Electric-Power. Even if i re-insert the battery - the white screen comes - unless and until i put it into charging Earlier i was guessing - my battery was weak - but no such problem. pls advise.

  • 8520 wont find orange network

    8520 wont find orange network
ive done all i need to if i do a network search orange dont come up it was working before

If you simply can't find the network, that's a problem you should take up with Orange, or try from a different geographic area. Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Right now, there is a known data issue in Europe where you might be located, causing an outage of BlackBerry data for email, messenger, etc., but if you can't get a signal, that's a totally different issue.

  • New battery wont charge

I just got a new battery in the mail today and it wont charge!! theres a battery icon with a red X through it . help!
    Amy Tice

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully that "new" and "known good" are not necessarily the same...while rare, a new battery can certainly be defective. Further, only by finding someone else with an identical BB with no issues can you actually trade batteries and narrow down if the problem is the battery or your BB.
Good luck and let us know!

  • New Playbook wont charge - what can I be doing wrong

Hi there, so frustrated Im about expire!, bought my daughter a blackberry playbook for christmas.  After much waiting yesterday for me to get advice from my internet provider on how to connect to the internent (which we've now achieved), I find that it just wont charge.  We put it on charge yesterday and I now realise it didnt charge at all.  Its saying it has no battery power and cant do any more start up until it reaches over 20%.  However, I dont see what I can be getting wrong here!, although Im not techy, there are two leads which came with it, one to the electricity point which Ive connected into the middle slot on the three at the bottom of the playbook and when then failed to get any reaction Ive tried connecting to me laptop without any reaction to the playbook either.  Its brand new purchased from a big electrical retailer and opened only yesterday.  what a disaster, is it a dud.

My first suggestion would be to immediately return and exchange it at that big retailer.
Alternatively, LEAVE it connected to the wall outlet charger (not the USB > PC charger).
Leave it connected for 24 hours... every 3-5 hours, press and hold the power button only for about 20 seconds. Eventually it will boot on up, but first must reach a certain charge level.
You will see the blinking red and perhaps yellowish LED light, and perhaps a symbol on screen of "no battery". That means the battery is drained, but it must reach a certain charge before powering on.

    hey guys,
im afraid my beloved torch starts eating his own allies
when i try to charge it, it wont charge, the charging symbol wont appear and it already killed two chargers!
    i
have no idea whats going on, if i would change this part:

would you say it would help?
    thanks...

No, it really doesn't answer the question, so let me rephrase the question.
Are you CERTAIN the charger is actually dead,
    OR
Do you think the USB port on the handheld device is dead?
You could connect one or both of the chargers to another device to see if it charges.
Or, use a friend's charger on your 9800 to see if it charges.
