Blackberry 8520 wont sync previous dates in calander

Hi there,
It is the 23rd June as I post this. I dont know why an appointment I entered on the Blackberry last week  wont sync in the usual way to outlook. The appointment was on 21st June. Also an appointment I entered on Outlook calander last week, also for the 21st June wont sunc on the Blackberry. Would be grateful for any help. I dont appear to have had this problem before. The sync was attempted this afternoon.
Mikey

Hello,
This occurs because a few settings may be off on your BlackBerry smartphone and on your BlackBerry Desktop Software. Have a look at this article http://bbry.lv/jQ9ha2 to make sure appointments are set to be kept forever and then navigate to BlackBerry Desktop Software and re configure the synchronization settings http://bbry.lv/jxCCRQ Make sure in step 7 you select to Transfer all scheduled items.
Thank you

I upgraded the Pages version on my iPad and iPhone some weeks ago. The App has not synced previous data on both AND it's unstable on both. Luckily I didn't upgrade on my Mac where the old version is working ok!

You need the new versions of both to sync data between them. If you don't have the new versions on your Mac, they will not sync.
BTW, the new versions do NOT overwrite the old on Mac. When you install them, the old versions are retained.

  • Blackberry 8520 wont turn on

My batter deid yesterday and i was unable to charge my phone for the whole night. I got a usb port and started to charge it on my laptop this morning. But only the LED red light comes on and it has been charging for over 2 hours now. I keep doing a battery pull but the bb still wont turn on. Please help me?

    Hey Stacyb22,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I'd suggest trying a different battery in the BlackBerry and if it still doesn't respond, contact your network service provider for exchange/repair options.

  • Blackberry 8520 wont charge

I have an 8520 and I just came home from the hospital.  I have upgraded to the 5.0.0.822 op sys the phone battery died before I was able to get home.  When I go to plug it in after getting home it will not charge or even lite up when plugged in.  I have tried plugging it into the wall and the computer but I get the same reaction from both and that is nothing.  I have tried to pull the battery and it is still the same.  Does anybody have any suggestions for this? I am on the at&t network also.

Solid green? I'm not at all sure what that means. Try this...while still hooked up to the charger, remove the battery. Wait 5 minutes and then put the battery back in.
    Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
Good luck and let us know!

  • I've had a problem with syncing itunes, when i sync it dosent sync songs previously deleted it just greys them out, which is great but if i want to add a new video or song from my computer it wont sync it will just grey out and wont play. now all my songs

ive had a problem syncing with itunes recently. when i delete a song on my iphone when i sync with my computer it still syncs but just greys out and is rendered useless. thats great unless i when i want to add new music or videos from my pc to my iphone it wont sync and will just grey out. i looked for solutions and one said that deleteing all your music from the usage in settings would fix it, well now when i sync all of my music is greyed out. ive tried adding all of my songs manually into my ipod instead of syncing entire library and nothing. (also when i select to sync music nothing shows up in the usage bar (normally 3 gigs)  might help) could someone please help?

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

  • I shifted from a windows to a mac.. I want to add songs to my ipod tpuch 4th gen.. but if i try to sync with itunes it says my songs will be replaced by the new songs.. Is there any way that i can have my previous data safe??

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    iOS: How to back up
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

If you do happen to lose any purchased content, you can always redownload it from the iTunes Store again at no cost via iCloud.  See this article for information.

  • Blackberry 8520 - Generic Data Plan

I just recently purchase a 3G generic data plan for my blackberry 8520 under a mistake. I understand that this plan is not suitable for bbm or any other RIM services, however I expected that I could still use third-party application like Whatsapp, Opera Browser, etc, based on facts from (http://www.ehow.com/how_7664566_use-blackberry-generic-data-plan.html, http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_to_use_BlackBerry_on_Generic_Data_Plan).
Can anyone help me to explain a further setting for this phone? I contacted my carrier but they have no idea how to set a generic data plan to work on my phone!

  • MY blackberry curve 8520 wont work ) :

    Hi.
I found an issue with my blackberry 8520 a day ago.
I texted my friend, Before going to sleep The letter key " A " was working perfectly fine.
I woke up the next morning, and i went to put my phone on charge because it was on 11%
When i came back, a friend had left me a message so i was going to reply him. I was going to reply  "ya"
and i was stuck with " Y " i couldn't type A at all. With this, my phone would auto lock itself, and i had to press any key till any box would prompt and allow me to continue. I couldn't answer any calls as well. So i did a restart and i couldn't switch back my phone! I then took off the battery and tried it again Nothing helped after that reboot. I have got no idea how i should fix this.

It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath, gym locker, sweaty face or pocket can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out.
    Does this sound likely?
It really is more common than you think.
    1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
    2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
    4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
*Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
*On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
*On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

  • My BlackBerry Curve 8520 Wont Turn on With No LED

My Blackberry Curve 8520 Wont turn on and there is no LED flashing, i have tried pretty much everything and nothing seems to be working, tried a new battery, tried using the USB and the mains charger, tried leaving to charge for 8 hours, is there anyhing i can do to fix it myself as i dont have themoney to replace the phone or pay for a repair
    PLEASE HELP ME
    Thank You
    Nathan

    Hey hakmilton,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest contacting your network service provider to look at possible repair and exchange options.  Since you tried a new battery and the LED won't come on, we can not even try reloading the device software.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Can't sync outlook data to mac apps, very disappointed in apple!!

This is just another issue that lion seems to have brought on.  Don't even get me started with photostream being a POS and the cloud a clunky mess... this might get a little long winded so i appologize.
so here is my question/problem, as a PC user moving over to a mac, i have been running outlook as my email, calander and contacts for a while now on snow leapord (which in my opinion is a superior OS than lion).  Now that this really super fun thing called the icloud came along and the new 4s, i thought this would be a great opportunity to upgrade so i can keep my email, calander and contacts up to date on the fly since i'm all over the place with work and often forget to sync my phone each evening and might miss a meeting the next morning since it never got from my computer to my phone's calander.  So at the apple store when i purchased the new 4s they said to upgrade to lion so i could use the cloud.  So i wasted my money and upgraded so i could use the cloud (now my mac is slower).
Now, i told the genious at apple to sync my contacts, email, calendar with the cloud.  1 hour later my outlook was deleted, i had no emails and my contacts were not merged.  Then finally they said, well you can't get your email to sync, we can't get your calendar to sync and your contacts wont sync.  They then told me i had to move all my data out of outlook into ical, address book and mail to use the icloud.  So i said move it.  Mail will not accept the library file from outlook to move all my email data over, so that's a BIG FAIL.  Since i can't move the outlook library file over, also i can't move my calendar over, so that again is a BIG FAIL.  Then i said move my contacts over since i have several hundred, and they couldn't do that either, another BIG FAIL.
But, what really ****** me off is they kept blaming it on microsoft!  my argument is that THEY sold it to me, it is distributed by Apple and has Apple on it and it says OUTLOOK FOR MAC!!!  I said they sure did sync manually on snow leapord!
So i wanted them to put snow leapord back on, and give me my money back since the whole reason i upgraded to lion was to use the cloud and that's a fail. They wouldn't!
How in the world do i get my outlook data to sync with my iphone 4s?  I find the three seperate apps (ical, address book and mail) to be cumbersome and i enjoy doing all my work from one program!  Honestly, the ical works OK and the mail is OK, but address book just plain *****! I have contacts that are on my phone that are not in outlook and i have contacts in outlook that are not on my phone.  Try having a client call you in the office as you are walking out and you tell them that you will call them right back, put the contact into your macbook, sync, walk out and get on the road to call only to find out that the contact never sync to your phone!!

    alexfromhigh point wrote:
If apple puts their name on the product, they should stand behind it and make sure if they are putting it on their proprietary machines then it functions correctly and works with their other products as advertised.
I read enough on icloud that was published at the time to make an educated decision.
I know when i purchased my pc it came with a CD to install whatever edition of windows was originally installed on it so i could always reload.  And that was only what i suggested to the apple genius when even he suggested that it was wrong that i was sold the products and none of the reasons i purchased the products work!!
Now, with that said, i still like my macbook.  I still like my iphone.  I just need apple to step up and stand behind their stuff!  Just write a patch to fix this data transfer issue.  If it's a microsoft problem, work with them to get a fix.
In my opinion, the iphone is the #1 smartphone out there and as of now, outlook is the #1 email/calander/contact software out there.  They should sync.
That may be true, but not with iCloud (Outlook 2011 is neither recommended or supported), Use Outlook with Exchange, then your iPhone Outlook combination will work as you expect it to.
