Blackberry 8820 - External Screen Shows Clock but no other indicators (texts, email, facebook)
I have a BB 8220 Flip and last night my indicators stopped working. My phone was charging, I picked it up and all of a sudden it went black - everything. I pulled the battery and reinserted and since then, none of my external indicators are working. I've checked the settings and everything is correct however, my envelopes don't pop up with the preview message for my emails, my profile pics don't pop up when a text message comes in...and the same thing with my facebook messages.
Please help!!

Try another battery pull and if that doesn't help switch to one of the stock themes. If still no go then reinstall the stock themes and BB attachment services.

Sounds hardware-related. Have you got a SuperDrive? If so, boot from that to test.

You probably don't need to do that.
How to Remove MacKeeper or use the Uninstall option in MacKeeper.
To erase and reinstall:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -
External screen shows guest user screen instead
When I connect an external screen via TV, I can't get my own logged in user screen to show up. What keeps showing up instead is the Guest user screen, which I'm not even logged into. Any advice on how to get my own user screen to show up? Thanks I advance!
Press Command+F1 to mirror your built-in screen on the TV.

Today I was updating my phone to the newest IOS 7 and after it finished downloading. An error showed up on my screen telling me it was unable to update. So I decided to just unplug my phone and maybe do it later but on my screen I have a USB cord and the iTunes logo asking me to connect. So I hooked it back up and still at this point my iTunes will not connect and when I unplug the phone the screen stays the same. I have tried turning off the phone and restarting and both times the screen goes back to the connect screen.. How can I fix this?
I have tried the steps to fix it but no solution! Please someone tell me what to do!

1/3 of the screen shows nothing but black
I searched all over the internet, and I am afraid I am the only person who has encountered this problem.
I was watching a movie through air video, and the video freezes. When I hit the home button, 1/3 of the screen is still showing the frozen frame of the movie. No matter what I do, that section of the screen continues to show the frozen frame.
I turn the iPad off then back on, that section now is completely black. The iPad works fine except for that section showing nothing.
I have gone into general settings and reset, and I have held home and the lock button to reset as well. Nothing has worked.
How can this be? Did the application fry the video connection or the display? It seems quite impossible for an application to affect hardware this way. I am also overseas in a country where the iPad has not been released yet, I feel very helpless. Please help.Next try is to connect to your computer and do a wipe and restore. First try restoring from you backup (iTunes makes one automatically). If that does not fix it do a wipe and restore to factor new configuration without any apps or dat/files installed to see if it works that way. If that does not work, make an appointment at an Apple store or call Apple Care.

External Harddrive showing Empty but isn't
Before I went to bed last night, I started transferring some of my iPhoto libraries from my MacBook Pro (Oct '09) to an external hard drive. When I woke up this morning to make sure everything had been copied properly, I found the drive unresponsive and I was unable to eject it.
I reboot my laptop and after plugging in my drive, I was horrified to find that the drive was no longer recognizable. I believe the data is still on the drive because it is a 400Gb drive and it says there are only 262GB available.
This drive contains all of my family photos that have been organized. Luckily, I have most (if not all) of the photos backed up on either CD, DVD or another drive. However, they are not organized and I really don't want to have to repeat the organization process which took quite a while...
Does anyone have any ideas how to recover the information on the drive? Since it isn't show any folders at all, I am not sure how to proceed.I reboot and connected to the first drive (400GB WD My Book) to be sure that absolutely no applications were running. When I tried to copy files from one drive to the other, I got the following error:
The operation can’t be completed because the item “Ellas iPhoto Library” is in use.
If I try to copy an iPhoto library file from the second drive (640GB WD MyBook) to a brand new directory on the same drive, I get a file exists error:
The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name “iPhoto Library - FULL” already exists.
It seems to be hit or miss on copying a file to a new location on drive 2 (640GB) and drive 1 (400GB) is pretty much inaccessible. On the new connection, running disk utility produces a new message:
*Verify and Repair volume “WD - 400GB”*
*Error: Could not unmount disk*
Any operations on the 400GB drive cannot be completed because the "files are in use". Nothing other than FireFox is Running... -
Screen shows image, but is very bright white, and very hard to see.
hello, i have a 4gen nano with a screen that is a bright white most of the time, with a barely visible display. i can see enough to navigate where i want to go, but is is very difficult. on rare occasions the screen returns to normal, randomly, but returns to its white condition soon after. any ideas on what is causing this would be very helpful. thank you

As I was using my laptop it suddenly died on me. I tried turning it on several times but I couldn't get passed the grey screen with the Apple logo on it and a loading bar underneath. At this time I could access the Recovery Disc Assistant or the Mac OS X utilities (not sure what it is called). I partintioned the Hard Drive into one partition and ran a disc check. Everything was OK so i rebooted the laptop. The grey screen showed up, but this time instead of getting an Apple logo i got a blinking folder with a question mark on it. I could no longer access the Recovery Disc Assistant and I'm stuck. What really ***** is that I have IB exams tomorrow and some of my crucial notes are on this laptop... Please help.If you partitioned the drive, you deleted all the data on it. Restore from your most recent backup.

Suddenly, I have found that I am not able to download and either save oor run any type of files (except .txt). The screen shows themdownlaoding, but they neither "save" nor "run". have searched (including hidden files), but they do not exist upon the computer
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.<br />
Do not forget to re-enable the scanning in your anti-virus software after you are finished with downloading and installing.<br />

Sign in screen showing "Other User" and blank picture in Build 10049
In 9926 and 9974 builds, sign-in screen properly showed my picture and my account name and welcome. I don't use a password so it skips on to the desktop automatically. No problems. Starting with 10041, that screen shows a very big "Other
User" and doesn't show my picture. The various available Account Settings all show what should be there like in prior builds. There is only one account on my machine so there is no account listed as "Other User". I didn't complain
in 10041 because I hoped 10049 would cure this but it did not.
Any ideas?Yes, Yolanda, the screen looks like your example., The local policy logon disable instruction does hold. I tried it both enabled and disabled and didn't help. However, i made another account with the following results:
Upon Shutdown or Restart, I still get "Other User" with blank picture like your screenshot.
If I then "SIgn Out" which produces the Lock Screen and then click on the screen, I get the correct sign-in with my MS account and picture shown. First time I've ever been able to get that correctly.
If I change User's to my new test account, it shows properly with account info. If I then click on change user to my original account, it then shows the proper account info AND my picture as it should.
Other User never shows as an option on User list but continues to appear when Shutdown or restart is used!
Thank you very much for your continued interest. However, I don't believe either of us should waste any more time with this hoping that it will somehow disappear in the next build installation.

The problem is 2 things:1: The PC, now loops in "Recovery mode/diagnose-pc"2: Now we can't access BIOS because of External Screen is VGA, but if we close the lid, we will see,only the loop "Recovery..." My friend have used his Laptop with and external HDMI screen for some time,then he noticed that it got more and more virus behaviors, like: acting like its hacked,someone takes over his mouse and so on. So he decided to do Recovery of his pc and then we can make it work in External VGA Mode,but not in HDMI anymore. Reason for not working in HDMI anymore is because of Windows have those drivers maybe? (external mouse and keyboard installed) Tries to start computer on F10 or fn+F10 or F2, (laptop keyboard) and then close the lid.Same on external Keyboard.
