Blackberry 8830 from Cbeyond unlocked for Sprint Network

Hi, I have a Blackberry 8830 that is locked to Cbeyond.  I am currently on Sprint network.
I purchased the phone thinking that I can use it on Sprint but apparently the phone itself is locked to Cbeyond.
Does anyone know how to have it unlocked to be used for the Sprint network?
Otherwise, is someone willing to buy the phone from me for $100?  It's in great condition and ESN is clean as well.  I would love to hear back on any suggestions.  Thank you so much.

  • I phone 4 unlock for Indian network

Hi, I bought an iphone 4 from Canada in June 2011 from fido carrier but mistakenly upgraded it without preserving the firmware. Now, my gadget is locked for network services. I want to use the set for available carrier in India. I would like to share my set information:
    Version:  5.0.1(9A405)
    Serial No.: 84*******DZZ
    IMEI:
    Modem Firmware: 04.11.08
Please unlock the handset, if possible and feel free to ask for further queries, if any?
    Thanks & Regards
    Dr Vivek Srivastava

You are not addressing Apple here at all.
Apple does not initiate any unlocks at all.
ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can do this.  No one else at all.  Not Apple.  No one bu the carrier to which it is locked.
You will have to contact them and ask them if they offer this service.

  • Blackberry 8830 & Oracle Connector?

    Hi,
Has anyone else tried syncing the Verizon Blackberry 8830 with Oracle Connector for Outlook? I tried installed the BBDM patch from Oracle....but that only seems to work with BBDM 4.1. BBDM 4.2.2 is required for the 8830. Anyone have any workarounds? Or have you had any luck getting this to work?
    --Bill

FYI - I don't think you HAVE to have BBDM 4.2.X for
the 8830s (or any other BB for that matter).
Usually you need the install CD to get the device
driver so that Windows recognizes the device
correctly but after that you can use BBDM 4.1 (with
the Oracle Patch) and Outlook 2003 to sync contacts
    and calendar entries.
I do it every day with my 8100 and setup a customer
yesterday with his 8300. We've yet to run across a BB
that wouldn't use an older version. You do lose some
functionality (Media Manager for one) but generally
thats OK with business users.I can't get this work, maybe you could post intstructions for what has worked in the past?
This doesn't seem to work with the 8830. I install the Desktop Manager 4.1...and it doesn't recognize the device. So I install the .msi package for Blackberry Device Manager 4.2 or the .msi package for "USB & Modem Drivers 4.2". It appears to install properly...but during the install, it removes the Desktop Manager 4.1. If I try to reinstall 4.1 minus the device manager, it will not let me...that is a requited component.
Has anyone had any luck? This is very very frustrating.
I talked to Oracle support a few weeks back, and they said that RIM purposely locked out 3rd party vendors with this release. I have sent a letter to RIM asking them to work with vendors such as Oracle. So if you are having the same issue, please do the same!

  • HT4623 I updated my iPhone 4 and now I can't receive texts unless the person has an iPhone or is in my sprint network. What could be wrong?

I updated my iPhone and now I can only receive texts from either other iPhones or from people within my Sprint network. My friend has a Droid and I cannot get her texts now. What could be wrong?

Your device is broken.  If you want a device that works better than the one you have now, then you'll either need to bring your phone into Apple for out of warranty exchange ($149), or find a 3rd party repair shop in your area and see what they can do, if anything at all.

  • Scan for wireless networks doesn't find Airport Express

    Help please!
I've been trying for days to set up my Airport Express.
When I do the scan for wireless networks, my computer seems to find every network in my block of flats except my AX. I found it once or twice, and then used the AirPort Utility to do the setup. But then it lost the connection on restart. Now the AX connection is nowhere to be found.
Similarly, when I scan for AXs using AirPort Utility it finds nothing.
I don't think it's the AX that's the problem, because I have a wifi blackberry and when I scan for wireless networks on that it finds the AX (although it won't connect). And I don't see how it can be my computer (which is not a Mac) because it finds about 10 other networks.
What am I doing wrong? I'd be most grateful to anyone who could explain it to me in language a 2 year old could understand, because it's all a complete mystery to me.
I use a BT Home Hub for wireless internet, if that makes any difference.
    Thanks!

If there are lots of other networks in the area you are probably getting a lot of RF interference.
Can I also add, the AX has relatively weak signal compare to some of the desktop wireless routers due to its size and small power source. If the interference is really a problem, AX might not be your best solution. You should consider upgrade the AX to something more powerful like the AEBS/n. Get the N version so you have a choice of moving your wireless network out of the crowded 2.4GHz band and move it into less populated 5GHz band.
    Just my 2 cents.

how to get factory unlock for iphone 4s in india..iphone 4s is from  spain on orange network..

Well, you've got a real mess on your hands with no easy solution. See, you're gonna have to go back to Spain to activate your phone on Orange's network, then request Orange to unlock it. You won't be able to do anything with that phone but use it as a paperweight until you do so. And no, Apple can't help you, nor can anyone here. Good luck.

  • Is it possible to use a blackberry q10 from sprint on the verizon network?

Can the phone be "flashed" over or unlocked for use on the verizon network and if so how do i go about doing so. I'm not sure if this question has already been asked sorry for a repeat if it already has. Thanks.

Because the new BlackBerrys are "world phones", they have GSM radios (T-Mobile and AT&T) as well as CDMA radios (Verizon and Sprint). Sprint and Verizon will never allow a device they did not sell themselves on their network, but the GSM carriers don't operate that way. They "lock" the phones they sell to their own networks, but once unlocked you can use a GSM phone on any GSM carrier's network. Verizon BlackBerrys come with the GSM side unlocked so they're ready to operate on T-Mobile or AT&T right out of the box.

    Hi,
I have created a web dynpro java application and when I tried to run in the BlackBerry 8830 Sprint Simulator, I am getting the following error
I am trying to take data from the R/3 Server through RFC Model,
    Error:

    Regards, Mathan MP

    Hi Mathan,
You can configure the proxy server by following these steps
Make sure that MDS is stopped.
    1. Go to installation folder of your MDS. Like for example in my case
        "C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.0.2\MDS\config"
    2. Open the file rimpublic.property with a notepad/textpad.
    3. Under section "# [HTTP HANDLER]", Change the following 3 properties
        a. "application.handler.http.proxyEnabled = true" from false
        b. "application.handler.http.proxyHost= proxyname"
        c. "application.handler.http.proxyPort=portnumber"
After this you can restart the MDS and try to access any web link. Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Siva.

  • Unlock 8520 for other networks???

    Hi,
    I have a BlackBerry Curve 8520
    v5.0.0.1036(Bundle 1682, Platform 5.2.0.104)
I have entered the NAC from my network provider(Vodafone) and the device says it unlocked.
When I put a SIMcard from another network(O2) into the phone it requested a NETWORK MEP CODE.  At first I thought it was asking again for the NAC and wasted a few attempts entering that number to no avail.  I then followed the online instructions to the engineering Help screen on the phone to obtain the MEP code.  I then tried to enter this code but it would not accept this code either.  It will work without any problem with a Vodafone SIM as always but still asks for the NETWORK MEP CODE when I try a SIM from O2.  It now says (0 attempts).
Is there anything I can do to resolve this to unlock the device?
I have contacted Vodafone who say there should be no need to enter any code other than the NAC they provided me with.
I have contacted O2 who say they are not familiar with the problem but that the problem is with the device and probably needs to be sent somewhere to be unlocked.
    Any help/advice gratefully appreciated.
    Thank you.
    J

    Hi,
I have the same problem, and seriously ned help, i ahve only 4 attempts left and am being told to pay Vodafone €20 get it unblocked!
Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please see this helpful thread to start:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Unlocking-your-BlackBerry-Gu...
If you use up all of your chances to enter the correct unlock code, there is nothing further you can do. Even if you happen to have now the correct code, it is useless. Only the factory can now (legally) unlock your BB. Typically, I've heard that the cost of having RIM do this for you will be greater than the cost of just buying a new one. But, you are able to ask them...see here:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/programs/technical/incident.jsp
Note, however, that this process will start with a fee...
If you obtained your unlock code from somewhere but it was incorrect, your recourse could be with them -- however, they may well question why you exhausted all 10 attempts before contacting them.
If your BB was already MEP locked and you obtained it from a source that represented it as being able to be unlocked, then your recourse would be with the seller you obtained it from.
    Good luck!

  • Firmware Update for my blackberry 8830 world edition with Bell Canada

Hi does anyone know if there is firmware update for the Blackberry 8830 world edition with the carrier being Bell Canada?  I am running version 4.2 and I know there is 4.5 but I am not sure if this applies the my phone with Bell Canada. When I boot up my desktop manager and checks for updates and says that there is no update.  I don't want to update if it is not necessary and not be able to run my blackberry.  If I am able to update where would I go to get the 4.5 update?

You have to repair Desk Manager or unintall and reintall DM, but this time uncheck "Auto update" and anything that refer to "update" the reason why I mention that is because everythime you run DM, it goes online and check for newer version and put this file "vendor.xml" in the Blackberry Common Folder, and with that file in place, it will block the program from installing the newer version from a difference cell company..
From what I see 4.2 is the only version that is up to date for a 8830...but if you have a 8820, you can update to 4.5.

  • PIN unlock for data access on blackberry

I have got a blacberry pearl 8100 from TIM,Italy. now I want to use it in India. The phone is unlocked in terms of voice and sms but I cannot use data/internet. My service provider tells me that the PIN is locked with TIM and unless they release this I cannot use the blackbeery services.
Can anybody help me to solve this problem???
    taposhkb

I am having the same issue with an 8830 from Verizon. Voice calls are working great, but BB data plan is not working.
I contacted Global Support, they told me that Verizon locks the PIN of their blackberries (different from phone locking), but they can't release it because Verizon just doesn't do that. She did not make it clear whether it is a software or hardware lock. "Data Lock" seems to be a good term for this to differentiate from "Phone Lock".
But she told me that she knows for a fact that if I were to switch providers and go with Cricket, I can take it to a Cricket store and they know how to unlock the PIN!! Because she's done this herself.
Just to make it clear, this is the situation where the phone is already unlocked, but another GSM provider is unable to activate the data plan because of a PIN lock somewhat tied physically to the phone (i.e. calling your provider won't help because they will tell you that your PIN has already been released from their and RIM's databases).
If anyone manages to resolve this issue, please do post the procedure.

  • Sprint BlackBerry 8830 - how do we get in to debug mode...?

I have searched for two days everywhere and can not locate how we enter in to debug mode on the 8830.
I need access to the Rx Ec/lo and the SID#, currently I can only get signal strength in the home screen by pressing the ALT+NMLL (changes the graphical signal indicator to the numerical one, i.e.  -80)
Please, I could really use some help with this so we can diagnose the repeaters on our corporate campus.
    Thanks,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well, to answer my own question, I have now found the answer.
Unfortunately, the 8830 and some of the other newer BlackBerrys do not make it easy to get this type of engineering information.
    You must:
    Have a login/password to  https://www.blackberry.com/EngineeringScreens/ (updated 5/30/2008)
On the BlackBerry pres ALT+CAP+H and leave it on this screen.
Once logged in to the link on #1, you will be asked to enter your PIN#, Uptime and Zip code of where your device is.
You will then receive a unlock code that is specific to this information (if you exit out of this help screen on the blackberry, the uptime number will be different thus your code will be different.)
Then enter the unlock code on the BlackBerry, holding the ALT key for numbers, capitals are not necissary.
This will give you access to the Trace Mode Engineering App
    Select "Radio Engineering" screen
    Select "CDMA Engineering" screen
Select "Operational Info"  (2nd line ec/io, 3rd line rss)
Scroll down to "Neighbor Set Details" and get 1st line Active Pilot, 2nd  through 20th will give Neighbor sites with ec/io for each.
*This code will only work for 30 days, then you will need to get a new code in the same way.
    I hope this helps everyone!
