  • Error when running the application in BlackBerry 8830 Sprint Simulator

    Hi,
I have created a web dynpro java application and when I tried to run in the BlackBerry 8830 Sprint Simulator, I am getting the following error
I am trying to take data from the R/3 Server through RFC Model,
    Error:
HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error
An unexpected condition was encountered which prevented your request from being fulfilled. Hi Mathan,
You can configure the proxy server by following these steps
Make sure that MDS is stopped.
    1. Go to installation folder of your MDS. Like for example in my case
        "C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.0.2\MDS\config"
    2. Open the file rimpublic.property with a notepad/textpad.
    3. Under section "# [HTTP HANDLER]", Change the following 3 properties
        a. "application.handler.http.proxyEnabled = true" from false
        b. "application.handler.http.proxyHost= proxyname"
        c. "application.handler.http.proxyPort=portnumber"
After this you can restart the MDS and try to access any web link. Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Siva.

  • Can not sync my Blackberry 8830 with MacBook using Pocket Mac for BlackBerryto Entourage 2008

I recently purchased a Verizon plan with my new BlackBerry 8830 Curve. I also downloaded pocketmac for blackberry with the Verizon technical support person. He spent almost 2 hours with me yesterday. We still can not sync my Blackberry contacts and calendar events to my mackbook on Entourage 2008.
This is the message I get:
[02:20:57.110] Could not lcoate the Microsoft Entourage Office Synchronization Tool.
[02:21:01.076] Could not lcoate the Microsoft Entourage Office Synchronization Tool.
PS, they even typed in locate incorrectly.
Can some help? I am stressed out that I only have one location where my contacts are located- the BB
    Thanks
    Henry

Guess what ? Pocketmac for Blackberry just released a new version this afternoon. 4.125.
I downloaded the new version and it now has a sync for Entourage 2008 and it works BB to Entourage 2008 and Entourage 2008 to BB.
Thanks to them for finally fixing this major flaw

  • Firmware Update for my blackberry 8830 world edition with Bell Canada

Hi does anyone know if there is firmware update for the Blackberry 8830 world edition with the carrier being Bell Canada?  I am running version 4.2 and I know there is 4.5 but I am not sure if this applies the my phone with Bell Canada. When I boot up my desktop manager and checks for updates and says that there is no update.  I don't want to update if it is not necessary and not be able to run my blackberry.  If I am able to update where would I go to get the 4.5 update?

You have to repair Desk Manager or unintall and reintall DM, but this time uncheck "Auto update" and anything that refer to "update" the reason why I mention that is because everythime you run DM, it goes online and check for newer version and put this file "vendor.xml" in the Blackberry Common Folder, and with that file in place, it will block the program from installing the newer version from a difference cell company..
From what I see 4.2 is the only version that is up to date for a 8830...but if you have a 8820, you can update to 4.5.

  • Blackberry 8830 World Edition -- won't play internet video

I cannot get my Blackberry 8830 World Edition to play internet video, such as YouTube videos, etc.
When I click to play them on my phone, I get this message:
"a problem occurred when trying to render page"
    Can anyone help?

If I'm not mistaken, you need OS 4.5 to do that and OS 4.5 has not been "officially" released yet despite what RIM tried to suggest in an email they sent out the "Blackberry Owners Lounge" members a month or so ago. I'm running the latest beta of OS 4.5 and it runs Youtube vids with a small tweak.
Unfortunately, you'll probably just need to wait until RIM finally gives us 4.5 officially.

  • Need help syncing Entourage - PocketMac - Blackberry 8830

    Hello,
I am new to Mac and am having a bit of trouble. I installed Entourage and Pocketmac and am trying to sync Entourage with my Blackberry 8830. I can sync my Calendar and Contacts without a problem, but neither my Tasks nor my Notes will sync at all. I have searched around online and have not found reference to this exact problem anywhere. I would like to get this resolved as soon as possible and would appreciate any advice, tips or fixes anyone may have.
    Thank you!

I have the same equipment (MacBook Pro) and 8830 and I'm getting the same results!! I also unchecked the "Tasks" and "Notes" and it synced fine. Since I'm using the "Getting Things Done" method, i'm going nuts without my tasks!! I hope a solution is found soon.

  • Blackberry 8830 World Editiion Software

I have a Blackberry 8830 World Editiion Smart Phone. I need to reinstall the software and would like to get the latest version. When I get to "Select a Device" I see the 8820 but not 8830. I selected the 8820 software and installed it. Now when I use the device I can highlight all of the applications but not select any. The telephone still works but I can' access anything else.
Is this a coincidence or did I mess up by using the 8820 software?  If so, how do I get the 8830 software?
    Thanks for the help.

  • Blackberry 8830 wireless synch help

Can someone give step by step instructions to configure my device so that it syncs to my laptop
wirelessly as my USB is bad.

    lp4birdie wrote:

    Wireless data synchronization prerequisites
    • Verify that you have synchronized your organizer data using the synchronization tool of the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager. For more information, see the BlackBerry Desktop Software Online Help.
    • Verify that your BlackBerry device is associated with an email account that uses a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that supports this feature. For more information, contact your system administrator.
Synchronize organizer data over the wireless network
    1. In the address book, calendar, task list, or memo list, press the Menu key.
    2. Click Options.
    3. Set the Wireless Synchronization field to Yes.
    4. Press the Menu key.
    5. Click Save.
To stop synchronizing organizer data over the wireless network, set the Wireless Synchronization field to No.
    About synchronization conflicts
A synchronization conflict occurs when you change the same email message or organizer data item on your BlackBerry® device and in the email application on your computer.
If you reconcile your email messages using wireless email reconciliation, on your device, you can set whether the email messages on your device or the email messages on your computer take precedence when an email reconciliation conflict occurs.
If you synchronize your organizer data using wireless data synchronization, the organizer data on your computer takes precedence over the organizer data on your device when a data synchronization conflict occurs.

  • Blackberry 8830 from Cbeyond unlocked for Sprint Network

Hi, I have a Blackberry 8830 that is locked to Cbeyond.  I am currently on Sprint network.
I purchased the phone thinking that I can use it on Sprint but apparently the phone itself is locked to Cbeyond.
Does anyone know how to have it unlocked to be used for the Sprint network?
Otherwise, is someone willing to buy the phone from me for $100?  It's in great condition and ESN is clean as well.  I would love to hear back on any suggestions.  Thank you so much.

  • Blackberry 8830 & Oracle Connector?

    Hi,
Has anyone else tried syncing the Verizon Blackberry 8830 with Oracle Connector for Outlook? I tried installed the BBDM patch from Oracle....but that only seems to work with BBDM 4.1. BBDM 4.2.2 is required for the 8830. Anyone have any workarounds? Or have you had any luck getting this to work?
    --Bill

FYI - I don't think you HAVE to have BBDM 4.2.X for
the 8830s (or any other BB for that matter).
Usually you need the install CD to get the device
driver so that Windows recognizes the device
correctly but after that you can use BBDM 4.1 (with
the Oracle Patch) and Outlook 2003 to sync contacts
    and calendar entries.
I do it every day with my 8100 and setup a customer
yesterday with his 8300. We've yet to run across a BB
that wouldn't use an older version. You do lose some
functionality (Media Manager for one) but generally
thats OK with business users.I can't get this work, maybe you could post intstructions for what has worked in the past?
This doesn't seem to work with the 8830. I install the Desktop Manager 4.1...and it doesn't recognize the device. So I install the .msi package for Blackberry Device Manager 4.2 or the .msi package for "USB & Modem Drivers 4.2". It appears to install properly...but during the install, it removes the Desktop Manager 4.1. If I try to reinstall 4.1 minus the device manager, it will not let me...that is a requited component.
Has anyone had any luck? This is very very frustrating.
I talked to Oracle support a few weeks back, and they said that RIM purposely locked out 3rd party vendors with this release. I have sent a letter to RIM asking them to work with vendors such as Oracle. So if you are having the same issue, please do the same!

    Hello,
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Bluetooth doesn't want to connect with Blackberry 8830

I hope someone can help. I have a MacBook and a Blackberry 8830 (Curve). I gone through the Bluetooth Assistant and it shows a passkey which I've entered into my Blackberry but the computer never connects with the phone. I want to have Daylite via Dialectic to dial my Blackberry. The only time the computer shows connection to the Blackberry is when I configure the device but as soon as the configuration process is done and you click Quit - the computer disconnects from the phone.
The phone shows that the computer is a Paired Device.
    Suggestions?
    Thx.

Are you using Bluetooth & AirPlay on your iPhone? AirPlay sometimes can connect you to Bluetooth stereo's.

  • Bluetooth Keyboard and Blackberry 8830 - Can they pair?

I have a co-worker with a Blackberry 8830 and he is looking for information regarding pairing that with an Apple BT keyboard. In fact, he already purchased one and has asked me to try and make it work. I have had NO luck, obviously.
I believe at least one of the problems to be the fact that the BT keyboard uses an 8-digit rotating key for the pairing. Is there a "backdoor" key that will always work on these keyboards? I'm mentally answering this question even as I type it...probably not.
Anyway, if anyone has worked on this and wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction, I'd certainly appreciate it. My Google skills are turning up nothing. Thanks!

    Eureka!
I got the two devices talking by:
-On my MacBook, I started to pair the BT keyboard
-On the Blackberry, I initiated a search for devices
    -Both systems found the keyboard
-Started up the pairing sequence on the MacBook and got the key BUT DID NOT ENTER IT
-I let the pairing sequence time out on the MacBook
-By this time, the Blackberry had also timed out and was asking for a retry
-Selected "Try Again" and entered the key displayed on the MacBook screen
-Also entered the key on the BT keyboard and pressed "Enter"
    -BOOM - paired....
Now the bad news...even though the devices are paired, I cannot use the keyboard for input. Back to the drawing board!
