BlackBerry 9220 trackpad is working intermittently

Hi BB Team,
Good Day! I badly need your help as I can't use my phone that much.. My phone's trackpad suddenly not working. Therefore, I check all the forums and search for possible solutions. So far, Here are the things I have done.
1. Hard Reset - Done with so many times , removed the battery, media card and sim card for more than 5 hours.
2.Safe Mode - Even I am in a safe mode with the phone still trackpad won't work.
Up until I found about "updating the software" thru Blackberry Desktop Software - I was able to update my phone successfully, Then hard reset again and my trackpad back on working,.
HOWEVER, it's coming back to my previous issue again. Mostly my trackpad is stack up and not working then later on it would work again. The trackpad sometimes work sometimes not.
Kindly Help me on this. Your response will be much appreciated!

  • My MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) trackpad stops working intermittently on Safari.  It works after closing then reopening but stops again.  Curious?

While using Safari or Firefox my trackpad 2-finger scroll stops functioning after working normally.  Trackpad works fine with all other applications.
Seems it might be a setting or software problem.  Any resets needed?

    Howdy mandasaureezy,
If I understand correctly you are unable to successfully boot past this gray sreen when using the built in monitor on your Mac unless you boot to your Boot Camp partition even after resetting your SMC and performing a Safe Boot. I would next use the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve or isolate the issue here, named:
Mac OS X: Gray screen appears during startup
It's a pretty big article so it can be a bit daunting, but just take it step by step from the top and you should do just fine.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,

My blackberry 9220 was perfectly working for the past 8months, after finding out that there's a new update for os, i tried updating mine. I fell asleep while updating my os that i didnt notice if the os was successfully updated bt wen i woke up in the middle of the night, my phone won't start. When i tried charging it, the red led light lights up then the initial screen where you see the "blackberry" word and load bar below it starts bt only flashes and turns off. It keeps repeating. I tried going to a phone technician but they said they cannot reformat my phone because it doesn't turn on or completely turn on in the first place.. What should i do? Please help me.

I am currently using a blackberry 9220 the headset that was given to me with the device is creating  a problem now. While I am listning to the music the tracks are getting paused, sometimes it just jumps to the next track or some times the voice command activates automatically.
I am not really sure if this is  a mobile problem or the headset problem. Kinldy help me

    Hi siddartha,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Does the issue occur when listening to music without the headset and when using a different headset? I would recommend testing this first to rule out any issue with the headset itself.
    Thanks.

  • Strange case:  trackpad working intermittently - with solution.

    Hello Everyone,
I am posting this one in case someone runs into this weird problem.
Recently, I started experiencing problems with my trackpad (MacBook Air - mid2013). The symptoms are as follows:
    - Left click stops working. Althoug right click is workine fine. Left click would start working again once in a while.
    - Mouse pointer correctly follows trackpad.
    - All other trackpad gestures working fine
    - Going over the dock doesn't produce the "lense" animation ( ! ).
    - Sometimes, a re-boot would fix the problem but usually not.
    - The mouse works perfectly fine in the "user selection" screen after the re-boot (left-click works).
I read many threads on the forums here but nothing solved the issue. Because the problem was:
    - I had a USB mouse (Magic Mouse), that was ON, under a cushion about 3 meters from the laptop. And somehow it was interfering with the proper functioning of the trackpad.
    - Getting the mouse from under the cushion and close to the laptop solved the problem.
This case was so strange that I felt I should write something about it.
    Aghiles

I found a solution via users comments on another website: For keyboard problems you have to zap the PRAM; for trackpad problems (including trackpad button) you need to re-set the Power Management Unit. Details at: http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n14449
This seems to have solved my problem completely. For added trackpad functionality though I have also added SIDETRACK - which provides scrolling functions and the ability to tap in just one corner of the trackpad in order to left-click, or right-click. There will be less button pushing in general therefore from me in future!

Sadly, I cannot resolve that for you...no one here can resolve that for you. Except to tell you, as I did above, that them telling you to come here to this forum to seek formal help was not correct...whether it was a lie or something else, I cannot know. But that information was definitely not correct.
    Cheers, and Good Luck!

  • Blackberry 9220 not starting

I had kept my blackberry 9220 in my hand bag while i was in a lecture. After an hour I wanted to check time but it wasnt working. i removed battery then tried to turn it on but it didn't. I connected it to wall charger but it still isnt starting, even LED isnt flashing.

The scenario goes like this sir. My BB has been automatically switched off because my battery has totally been drained for a long day of use. After almost 30mins, I charged it and stay it for about 2hrs of charging. Ive noticed after two hours that there is no led light existing, even the screen of my bb indicating that my unit is charging. So I pull my charger and I attempt to turn my phone on by simply pull-out my battery and returning it back to the unit but I wait for couple of minutes but it doesnt turned on. The next day i borrowed my friends bb9220 full-charged battery which is the same unit i have right now and insert it in my phone but unfortunately it doesnt turned on...So I also checked my battery by inserting it in my friends unit, it was fully drained but when i charge it the led light turns on as well as the screen of her phone indicating that the battery is charging which it doesnt happen in my phone. So when i read this forum, i followed the 4h15m trick but nothing happens. That was the scenario which I think my bb9220 encounter some problems. Hope you can help me for this.Thank you and God BLess...

  • IBook g3 trackpad not working

Hi. The trackpad on my iBook G3 works intermittently. When it isn't working I can still move the cursor slightly (half an inch with what seems like five minutes of furious effort) and the "click" part of the trackpad works. I tried using a USB mouse, but it didn't work. Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    Hi, Brent,
You'll be more likely to get a useful response if you ask in the iBook G3 area. This forum is intended for older, pre-G3 hardware, and so isn't like to attract much traffic from those with iBooks.
    Good luck.

  • Blackberry 9320 trackpad

I've the bb 9320 and the trackpad works... but depends on weather and the case of my hands... if its sunny... the trackpad will move slowly.. cold works better... also is it meant to be loose because it seems to make a noise of hitting the sidrs while scrolling and moves a lot... and sometimes the trackpad will freeze.. tried battery pulls, cleaning etc... but maybe its just me being paranoid ??

  • Trackpad stoppped working

So I updated to the latest OS from Telus for my 9810. I want the hotspot capability. My problem is the trackpad stopped responding ater I updated.  no probelm I roll back and everything works fine. update again and same issue.
Anyone know where there is an updated OS for the 9810 that has the hotspot working AND the trackpad still works? I am getting seriously cheesed off and have NO desire to upgrade since I am only half way through my contract and it will cost me a fortune to upgrade to a Z10

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I do not know what OS packages have exactly what you require, but you can try them all until you find the one that works. To do so, start at the top of each device forum -- there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software
Good luck and let us know!
