Blackberry 9320 battery heats up!

I recently got a blackberry 9320 about a month ago and my battery tends to heat up after a couple of minutes of using it, I don't know what the problem could be...My brother had the same problem with his BB 8520 but only after a year, it later stopped working. 2 weeks after getting my phone I used his 8520 charger because it was much longer then iy charger, then my battery started heating up I don't know if it is charger but I stopped using it and it still heats up PLEASE HELP!!

I think this is normal, but can you take it to the store so a tech can take a look at it?

  • Blackberry 9320 broken,9360 on the same route due to "battery to low for radio use" etc

My previous blackberry 9320 ,which I can't use anymore, aswell as my 9360 that's on the same route as the previous one started out in the beginning with
-battery to low for radio use(which I would turn back on)
Later my memory card couldn't be recognized, after some attempts of "fixing the broken files" as the phone would say, and then "repairing failed"
Problems got worse ,as if I allready can't use a memory card because all 3 got broken somehow, but after that it started saying "battery to low for radio use" then my battery would in a matter of seconds drain and then a message I get atleast 30 times a day "battery drained, shuttingdown handheld". It gets worse, then it says the same message ,but only this time the battery is full, because the phone must be pluged in too a charger to be able to start, and as I call it, then has to be on "life-support"(charging like 24/7). These problems seem to be activated by high radio use or just plainly to irretate a person. I'm very dissatisfied with blackberry and I seek answers. now here comes the catch, I took my previouse blackberry, the 9320, in 2 times to get the software updated and the last time they couldn't say why this is happening , aswell as try putting another(new) blackberry 9320 battery in the phone. It worked for 3 days,no kidding, and the same problems in their stages began.I fear my blackberry 9360 is on the same route and I'm dissatisfied with these products for its expensive and causing trouble. Please help me resolve this problem ???p.s both phones were newly bought since they are contract phones.

Given that you've already begun formal service for this issue, I recommend you continue with that. After all, they said it was fixed, but it's not...don't you want to challenge them on that fact?

  • Blackberry 9320 shuts off and needs to remove the battery to turni it on.

My BlackBerry 9320 keeps shutting off even if my battery is half full. Is this unit/device related, battery related, or OS related defect? Thanks.

    Hello jrcalara
Well.. No one can predict or guess that way unless you  try it yourself some workaround regarding your problem. It may be an hardware / Software / Battery issue but somtime a bad app can also create such issues . So can confirm if recently installed any application before this Problem started ? Think carefully !
If you have then try to boot your device on Safe Mode , On Safe Mode delete any application which you think might be responsible for this issue , from Options > Device > Application Manegement > locate and delete any newly installed 3rd party application , it might help in resolving your issue :
KB17877 : How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
If above fails then try a Good fully charged Batttery and test it on your device , it will reveal if the problem is within your device or the battery itself .
If it's a device issue then you can try an OS reload , which will fix any software glitch .For that you can refer to this Knowledge Base :
KB03621 : How to Reload BlackBerry Device Software and application using BlackBerry Desktop Software
If even after an OS reload problem continues then you can consider your device had a hardware issue , for that you have to visit your service provider to get it fixed.
So, try those thing it will let you know the exact cause.

  • HELP! My Blackberry 9320 keyboard won't let me type with some keys!

    My Blackberry 9320 keyboard won't type the letters: Q, W, R, T, F, G, J, C, and V, my password contains R, please help me as I'm unable or use my Blackberry!

    Hi OllySpyrou
If our BlackBerry ever got wet then we should not try to Turn it ON to see if it works . Should immediately remove the Battery , also SIM  and Media Card. We should place it in a bag of Uncooked rice which absorb the moisture . Should leave it for atleast 3 to 4 days unless we are sure that moisture has been completely absorbed . Then we should place our BlackBerry on any heat emitting surface like stabilizer , Or in the dashboard of a car on a sunny day. Before inserting the battery we should be sure that it is completely dry.
Have you done this after your device got wet ?
Still after following those steps it is not guarantied that our device will be trouble free and will perform as earlier , because when moisture or any liquid substance enter our BlackBerry  it starts corrosion which leads to problem like quick battery drainage , problem in typing and many more .
In all condition we should try to avoid our BlackBerry from any moisture intrusion or any liquid , liquid or moisture is the worst enemy of our BlackBerry or any electronic devices.
If its already too late then you should visit any mobile repair shop to know if they can repair it .
    Good luck.

  • Blackberry 9320 cursor

I just bought my blackberry 9320 and the cursor is moving all over the screen without me moving it. It makes me unable to text because everytime I type a letter in the cursor scrolls all the way up the conversation. I can't click on any of the apps or icons as the cursor keeps moving! It is not due to track pad sensitivity or anything, so i don't know how to fix it!

    Hi eabrown,
As you told battery pull restart and adjusting Trackpad also did not solve your problem, and since your device is new as you told so it will be better if you get it checked by your service provider or service dealer to rule out any hardware issue.
    Good Luck

  • My Blackberry 9320 keeps on freezing

Hi Please can someone assist me. I purchased two blackberry 9320s within this month and the first week, all was good and the phone worked brilliantly. Now, this phone freezes at least 10 times a day, irrespective of whether I am just playing a game on the phone or accessing something. It is becoming a real pain...had it been just the one phone, I would have said that it was something on the phone but this is happening on both the phones at random times. Is there some software that could resolve this? Is it the phone itself that is the problem? I am not happy with this. The fact that it is less than a month old says something. I don't even download onto the phone and am having these issues. There is not much on the phone at the moment as well. PLEASE HELP

    Ok.
Since there is one common application on both and although they are running at the same time when can try a safe boot.
Try doing a safe boot on device first.
Remove the battery and replace now hold down back key , when loading bar is quarter way release the key. Once booted a message should appear saying your device is in safe mode, click ok. Use it for 4 hours and see if freezes, if it does then we can assume its a app causing problems.
Also have you replaced Sd cards on the devices? And did you format them on the device or on your pc?

Hello I have a blackberry 9320 and i havent used it in about 4 months I tried to charge it earlier it wouldnt charge the red light would stay on for apporoximatley 40 seconds and then it would go off and the screen would stay blank
Can someone tell me a solution as sooon as poosible much apppriciated

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Blackberry 9320 Error after upgrading app world, bbm, blackberry id

    Hi,
I am a newbie and need some help here. I just bought a blackberry 9320 to replace my old 9700. After bought it, I upgrade the app world application to the newest version from app world website and bbm to bbm 7 from appworld app (9320 originally has bbm 6). When activated bbm, before running the bbm 7 it request to update blackberry id app to the newest. Then I managed to restore my bbm contact list through my blackberry id (previously I have bbm 7 on my 9700).
After upgrading then I did the pull battery to clear the memory (hard reset), but after put the battery back and my blackberry booting, it load until displayed "JVM error 517". What went wrong? JVM error 517 refer to hardware software conflict. I tried to hard reset again but the result still JVM error 517. Then I reload the software OS 7.1 downloaded from blackberry website (OS 7.1 for Telkomsel, wireless service provider in my country, Indonesia). And then I upgraded again my blackberry app world & bbm same as I did at the first time I bought 9320, did the hard reset, and JVM error 517 appear again.
Then I gave up and  just reload the OS 7.1 without upgrading any app on my blackberry 9320 and I cannot restore my bbm contact list since it is stored with my blackberry id (bbm 6 doesn't has feature to restore through blackberry id and I never back up my bbm contact list.
Is there any way to restore my bbm contact list through blackberry id on bbm 6? Why after upgrading blackberry app world, bbm app from 6 to 7 and updating to the newest blackberry id app my blackberry went "JVM error 517"?
Please help me to solve this so i can do upgrading without having any JVM 517 error again or restore my bbm contact from blackberry id on bbm app 6.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Stevanuscolonne
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with your previous BlackBerry !
As a BlackBerry lover myself , I 'm glad you chosen BlackBerry again and Bold 9900 is indeed a good device . Its has a good processor and a huge internal memory and ofcourse some good features.
Regarding your Battery drainage problem,  Generally this occurs when applications runs in the background , or because of any unknown Third party application installed within our device . A regular battery pull restart is always advised for our BlackBerry . If we press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will pop up a screen which will show all running programs in the background ,generally five will always there ( Home, BBM, Message,Phone , Browser ) we should always look if any other apps. are running.
Always try to Close Applications Correctly - Avoid using the End key to close applications as this simply minimizes the application and leaves it running in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select the Close or Exit option to exit the application.Don't leave your Browser open on any active webpage when not in use.If programs run in the background it will also lead to overheating and also quick battery drainage. Please have a look at these Article I am sure it will help you a lot in overcoming your problems :

  • BlackBerry 9320 unlocking itself randomly

I purchased a BlackBerry 9320 last week, and at the start of this week the phone started to unlock itself when ever it wanted, even if it was on the table and not being touched. I restored the phone to its factory defaults and this has made no difference in trying to resolve the problem. Can anyone help as this is draining my battery which is needed for work.

I noticed with my 8520 it would sometimes come on even though it was not touched. This was when it was new. Which eventually stopped , reason being that newly bought phone still have not settled or rather the Os has not.
Too make sure its not an app , one can boot in safe mode by removing the battery and hold down "back key" when the phone is booting up when the battery is reinserted. You can release the battery once the loading bar is quarter way. This will prevent all 3rd party apps from booting up and monitor from there.
Also even 3 battery pulls without doing a safe boot can solve the issue.

Similar problem encountered with the other BlackBerry 9320 Users. My handset automatically shuts off even if my battery is full. Seems that this is a common problem with BlackBerry users. Is this a handset/battery factory defect or OS incompatibility. How can I resolve this concern?

  • Battery heating

I have the original battery that came with the Thunderbolt.  I noticed if I'm using mobile web for maybe over 20 minutes or so, I can feel the battery heating up.  Is anyone else experiencing this with the original battery?  Is this "normal"?  I don't notice it heating up when I just text or use the phone for voice calls.  It's past the 14d period when I can return the phone.  My laptop was doing the same thing (heating up), until finally it "burned out" the inside and has had to be repaired several times.  I'd HATE for the same thing tohappen to my Thunderbolt, especially since I have 2 years with it.  (Footnote:  I did not purchase the extended warranty.)  Help!!!

Download from the market "Battery Monitor" application and it will show you much more information about battery including its temperature. Normailly working battery temperature (not during charging) range is from 80F (27C) and should not exceed 105F (40C). If your battery is getting hotter than 105F during normal operation, you are risking of damaging not just a battery but also internal components of the phone.

  • Yellow Battery Heating up

Has anyone run into the Pearl battery heating up?
My has done it a couple of times where the whole device is heated up because of the battery, I take out the battery, put it back in a minute later, it cools down, but the charge has completely drained. Then everything works normal again.
    It's only 6 months old.

I think you should resolve the issue quickly...otherwise this would damage your device.

  • Ingress software or iPhone issue over app crash and battery heating up

    Hi all
As you know the ingress games requires you to keep the phone while moving around to recharge the XM, and of course that reduce dramatically the battery, so I do carry a battery pack or two.
Recently, when the phone is kept on for a few hours my iPhone 4s automatically shut down, or even crash the ingress app. and the phone heats up after kept on for over just over 3 hrs, and sometimes beyond this the phone shuts down.
Does anyone have this battery heating up issues or automatic shutting down after hours of keeping the phone on even connected to a battery pack?

While on the HOME screen double-press the Home button. The Quick Launch bar will appear on the bottom of the screen. Hold any icon until they all display "-", then tap the "-" on each one until they are all gone.
Next, reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears.
BTW, this assumes your phone is not jailbroken. If it is then that is your problem, and you will have to find solutions somewhere else, as it can't be discussed in an Apple-hosted forum.
