Blackberry 9900 bricked with red LED flashing

My cell phone Blackberry 9900 was bricked last night. No special usage or status before. Now it can't be turned on any more, just the LED flashing. I have tried many ways to re-turn it on, not work. It even can't connect to computer. the computer is able to find it just when the red LED is lighting!
What happened on my phone? What can I do next? I must turn it on!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
Remove the battery
Wait 15 minutes
Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Phone stuck on loading screen, red LED flashing, will not turn on.

So I just bought this phone two days ago and have not dropped it or anything, it keeps flashing on the loading screen then just turns off and the red LED light goes off like I am receiving a message. It will not start up, i've tried charging it some more, i tried removing the battery and yeah.. i'm just not sure what else to do.
I've had a horrible time with this phone(The guy I purchased it from told me it was activated, then when I called virgin a day later they told me he forgot to...), and im really not sure what to do, please help :/
Thank you, any info is appreciated.

We can certain try troubleshooting. I know that some people may just prefer to send it back if it's not working when they first get it. The steps to reload the OS are as follows:
First download and install the Desktop Manager from here (4.7 without Media Manager is recommended): https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Next download and install the handheld software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
Afterwards try reloading the OS by connecting the device to your computer, open the Desktop Manager, then go into the Application Loader. This will open a wizard that steps you through reloading the OS onto your device. More detailed steps can be found in here:
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-how-install-or-upgrade-new-rim-operating-system-os
If the device isn't recognized when you plug it into the computer then try using the following 2 methods to reload the OS:

  • Red LED flashes continuously

I have the BlackBerry Bold 9650, it's a CPO purchased a year ago, used off and on till June, and has been my primary phone since June.  Up to now it's been fine, and I've gradually added apps and goodies...  Anyway, the last couple of days, it seems when I get a phone call my LED will flash red, endlessly.  I cannot find a way to get it to stop short of pulling the battery, and my battery depletes quickly if I don't do this.  **additional info - the touchpad becomes very sluggish as well, once I receive a phone call after a battery pull.  This is getting to be a bit more than an annoyance, having to pull the battery after every phone call.
There have been numerous app updates the last couple of days too, and one was for BeBuzz, so I'm thinking maybe that's the culprit.  It seems to be working normally though (the customized lights for contacts I have set do work) and I've gone through settings and don't see what it could be.
Anyone else have any ideas?  Or a simpler/faster way to get that red LED to stop flashing? I checked all messages, emails, missed calls, etc and I cannot figure out what is making the LED blink so I can shut it off!!

Hi SuzyQ! I'm used to you resolving everyone else's issues, (LOL, yeah, me too!) so I'll be more than happy to help you with your Blackberry. First, I just want to make sure you have the latest software version on your Bold, which was released 1/10. I believe that update was for the 9930 - I've got the 9650.  I am running OS 6.0 and it says my software is up to date.  If not, here are some options to manually download the update and also a list of the benefits of the update. If you do have the update already, do you notice this starting afterwards?
Do you have any missed calls, voicemails or new emails when this happens? No, I check all of those and cannot find anything I haven't opened or checked!  That's the frustrating part - not knowing why that light is flashing so I can turn it off. Try removing BeBuzz to see if the LED is still flashing and keypad sluggish after receiving calls. I may just have to do that, though I'm using the paid version - I'll back up all my contacts first because I do NOT want to have to set them all up again.  I don't get a lot of phone calls - mostly text and email, but it's annoying when it happens.
I have not seen any other reports of this issue. If the issue is still occurring after updating software and removing BeBuzz, then I suggest backing up the phone and completing a security wipe on the Blackberry.   Would really rather not go there if I don't have to! Make sure to test making and receiving calls before restoring your data, to make sure no corrupt data is restored. I would recommend backing up just the important info like contacts, calendar, emails, etc.

Thanks for the response Marquia - I was just thinking it hasn't happened today, but then, I haven't gotten a phone call today either.  So it may still be an issue.  I think I'll wait a few more days and see if it continues to happen or if it was just a weird glitch.  I really am enjoying the Bold, and this is really the first problem I've come up against!  I'll let you know when / if it gets resolved and what works or doesn't work.

  • Red LED flashing on my curve?

Hi. I have a blackberry curve, I don't use it for anything other than calling (it was my sisters) so I don't have internet activated and I don't text or anything on it. But suddenly the red LED lights up every now and then and it does not turn on. The screen is all black. I've tried taking out the battery, putting it back in. I don't know, I'm confused. What could be wrong with it?

That is a message indicator light.  Voice mail, missed call, text message, blackberry message, etc.
He/she stated they don't have internet activated, so it would not be BBMessenger, and I do believe this might be more of a problem with the BB restarting than an alert notification.

  • Download dictionary within Kindle app causes Notification red LED flashes like crazy

I'm not sure if it's a Kindle issue or BB10 OS issue, but it was kind interesting on my Z10 when it happened.
I've installed the Kindle app from  appworld and I downloaded a free book, touch any content would prompt to download a dictionay for it, confirm it and the Notification red LED started to flash like crazy until the download was completed.
    Have a great weekend.

It must have been a thriller that you were downloading 'cause you don't get that from heavy drama novels.

  • Error 6 while restoring iPhone 6 with red screen flashing

I was trying to update to iOS 8.0.2 which failed. Since then, I have been trying to restore my device to the earlier version. While I try to restore, iTunes would say "extracting software" after which it would say "waiting for iPhone" and then I get this "An unknown error has occurred[6]" On repeatedly trying, once I got an instance when there was a scary red screen flashing right after the apple logo that shows when booting the device. And this loop of "red screen flashing" and "the apple boot logo appearing" would continue forever. Anybody else face such problems? Any solut

Error 1015 is usually a downgrade error. If you are restoring to 4.2.1 firmware then this is most often due to iPhone having iPad baseband. Did you get this iPhone from someone else? If this is the case you will need to search the web for help. Search for iPad baseband, 1015, etc.

  • Red LED Flashing

I have no new messages, no alerts recently.  The LED just decides to flash around ntill i pull the battery.  What's going on?

There is likely an alert for something you are missing.. Facebook or some app you have forgotten.
Time it next time, how long with the ghost alert blink the LED red?

  • BB shuts down, no reboot possible, red led flashes

    Hi there,
    I've got the following problem:
Suddenly my BB turns off, then tried to reboot itself, but there was only the white screen with an hourglass.
Then it turns off again. Now the red light is flashing three times - small pause - two times.
I even removed the battery but the problem still exists.
    Can you help me?
    Greetings,
    torak

SOFTWARE NEEDS TO BE RELOADED ON THE DEVICE..
Try this to put the software on device..
Open DTM - then application loader. on the first screen, connect the blackberry WITH THE BATTERY OUT.
Leave it for up to 3 mins till you see the pin number flash under connections.
Then press next and then replacement the battery.
The follow the steps found Here.
This of course will only work if you actually have the Device software installed to the computer as well.
To check if you do, open up desktop Manager - Help - About Desktop Manager - Click Device Software Tab.
In here you should see the software installed to the pc listed.
If not, go to http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/do ... _sites.jsp to download the software specific for your carrier/device.
Failing all this, your carrier should have escalated the call to RIM to do a javaload over the phone with you before they authorised a replacement device. Oh well not to worry.
RIM do a javaload when the application loader won't recognise the device, with or without the battery in it.
Also make sure there is no other power going to usb devices and if a laptop, have it plugged into ac power.
Good luck and let us know how you go!
If your issue is resolved, put a checkmark in the green box that contains the resolution.
    OR
If it was just/or also really helpful - Give it a Kudos.. Go on Mate.. Help the rest of the clueless blackberry user world find their answer too..

  • Dc7700 small form factor - I get 9 red led flashes when trying to turn on computer.

I have replaced the power supply and I continue to get the same 9 red flashed.
If I push the power button twice in rapid succession I get a green led but I do not get any monitor feed nor does the hard drive get accessed for booting.
    Please help!

    Hi:
    9 beeps could mean:
    1. Check the voltage selector (red switch) on the power supply to make sure it is set for the right voltage.
Unplug the A/C power cord from the PC and wall socket. Change the voltage switch to the correct voltage.
Wait 30 seconds and plug the PC back in.
    2. Replace the system board.
    3. Replace the processor.
