Blackberry 9930 on 4G-LTE Sim Card Swap

My wife and I are considering switching from AT&T to Verizon. However, I am unable to have a phone at work with a camera due to security restrictions. All the managers at work have company supplied Blackberry Bold 9930s on Verizon.  I currently have an older unlocked Blackberry that I switch Sim cards (AT&T) daily to be able to have the Blackberry at work and my Galaxy S3 at home. I do not get as good of signal as the Verizon service/Blackberrys. I just purchased a new unlocked Blackberry Bold online.
If we switched to Verizon, would I be able switch the Verizon 4G-LTE sim card between a new S5 and the Blackberry Bold 9930 so I could have a phone for work and for home? Or is the Verizon service on the 9930s still only CDMA based since they are not newer 4G phones? Also, please note that I do not have internet access at work either to be able to do anything on MyVerizon.
I have been to a Verizon store  and Best Buy and have not gotten a straight answer nor have I found a definite answer searching the internet.  I would hate to switch services and not be able to have a phone at work or easily switch phones daily.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out, Frechles11. We want you to always be able to easily manage your account. The SIM card on the Verizon Blackberry Bold 9930 is designed for international 3G use not 4G so the SIM cards are incompatible.
Thank you,

  • Re-use of LTE Sim Card

    Hello,
I first want to start off by apologizing if this has been asked before.  I've paged through several discussions and haven't found my answer yet.
I know that in the past, the ability to do a hardware swap and "re-use" a SIM did not exist.  If you gave your LTE phone to someone else, or activated one for the first time, you had to have a brand-spankin' new SIM or else it wouldn't work.  I've heard rumors that Verizon recently gave consumers the ability to use the same SIM through multiple transactions, but I have yet to have someone who's actually done this confirm the rumor.
Anyways, I'm looking to use the upgrade from a spare line on my account to purchase the iPhone 5.  As most probably know, this new iPhone uses a Micro SIM, which no other phone has used in the past.  I'm going to upgrade this spare line, then put it back on the flip phone it's on now and pay $9.99 a month on my Family Share plan.  Finally, I'm looking to put the iPhone 5 (and Micro SIM) on the line I personally use.
Will I need to acquire an extra SIM from Verizon to complete this transaction?  Something tells me that when I put the spare line back on it's flip phone, the SIM will be junk.  The reason I don't want to do a "buddy upgrade" on Verizon's website is because I have unlimited data I want to keep.  I'll need two transactions to be able to keep it.  I'm 100% willing to buy another SIM from Verizon, but would like to know if this is necessary before I get all giddy when the iPhone comes in the mail.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have great news, GirlGenius88! You will be able to utilize the upgrade from your eligible line and activate the iPhone 5 on the number of your choice. The best part is that you will not need a new SIM card. When the phone arrives go to www.vzw.com and activate the device. I hope this helps.

  • HTC Incredible 4g LTE - SIM card needed

Hello - I have an HTC Incredible 4g LTE, I need a SIM card.  How do I go about obtaining one?
    Thanks

Visit your local Verizon Wireless corporate store or call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 or *611 to request one or you can request online during the "Switch/activate device" process in your MyVerizon account.

  • Upgrading to 4S from 4 - SIM Card Swap?

Will the process for upgrading to the 4S from a 4 include swaping the SIM cards again?

You won't have to swap SIM cards. Your phone is shipped ready to go with a new SIM card programmed with your phone number in it. Once you activate the new iPhone 4S, it will take over and your old iPhone 4 will instantly go to "No Service".

  • Using iPhone 4s in multiple countries (SIM card swap) ??

I just upgraded to a iPhone 4s (factory unlocked, awaiting delivery) from a 3gS (carrier locked). I am currently living in Europe but I travel to North America frequently for work. I was wondering if is is possible, and how hard it is to swap SIM cards so that I can use my phone regularly in Europe and pay as you go in North America.
Any advise or tips are welcome and thanks in advance.
    Coady

It's easy. Just pop one sim out and put the other in.
However, in the US you'll have problems finding a carrier that supports iPhone usage on a PAYG basis. AT&T is the only nationwide iPhone GSM carrier and they don't allow iPhone usage on their PAYG plans, even for travellers.

  • Does the account holder have to go with you to get a 4g LTE sim card?

The sim card in my son's thunderbolt messed up a few days ago and he has his license but he's only 16. Would it be possible for him to go to the Verizon store and get another sim card? Or does the person going have to be 18 and up? Thanks in advance

Could very well be, you could always call the store before hand... in fact, now that you mention it, we have a friend of my wife's on our family plan and at one point she had broken her phone, gotten a new one from another friend and went to the store to activate it herself, so it may not be a problem.

  • Sim card swap

need to send my phone off for repair - can i use my iphone sim in another phone while repair takes place?

    Wayne,
If you have another GSM cell phone available, you can put the SIM card into your other phone and use the other phone until their iPhone is repaired or replaced.
This information was pulled from the iPhone Service FAQ:

    Hope this helps,

  • Sim card swap over

Please help... I have broken my iphone4s so have put my sim card in my husbands old iphone4 but it doesnt seem to recognise me... i am still receiving all his texts and emails etc but nothing of mine is coming through - what do i need to do?

Did you delete all his email accounts and set up your own accounts?  Email accounts have nothing to do with the SIM card.  Similarly, if you are using iMessage, the account is set by whichever AppleID is currently logged in under message settings.  If it shows his AppleID, they you are still using his iMessage account, and you need to tap his AppleID, log out, then log in with your iMessage AppleID.

the sim is only need for making calls and using your carrier's data so an iphone without a sim is simply a more expensive ipod touch

Congrats on your recent upgrade actionkatie! I am sorry to learn of the difficulties you are experiencing with your Samsung Galaxy S4. Let's get to the bottom of this because we want you to love your phone.
I understand you have done all necessary troubleshooting steps that should have enabled you to send messages to iPhone users without them having to disable iMessage. Have you tried contacting Apple Support regarding the inability to send a text message to iPhone users? Apple can be reached at (800) 275-2273.
In addition, do you get a certain error message when your WiFi stops working? Have you verifed that Auto Switch network is disabled? To disable this setting simply to go Settings > Wi-Fi > Tap the Menu Key(to the left of the home button) > Select Advanced and it is called `Auto network switch. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please feel free to reach out to us for further assistance.

  • Iphone sim card swap?

My Dad has recently upgraded his old iphone 4 to a 5c and now doesn't like it because of the colour. I have an iphone 5 (not s or c) and would be willing to give him it (he wants it) and use the 5c. Simple question is there any reason I couldn't do this? He is on t-mobile and I'm on Vodafone but both phones would appear to be unlocked.
    Thanks for the help.

First, both phones MUST be officially unlocked for this to work, so verify such. Once done:
Back up each phone, next follow the directions here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5661
Turn each phone off, swap sims, then restore each phone from the backups made when you started. Call your respective carriers & make sure they have the proper IMEI number for each account...they don't care what phone you use, only that you pay your bill.
That's it, that's all you have to do.

  • Sim Card...4G LTE

Ok, I realize in a way I'm going backwards by going from a Droid Bionic to a HTC Trophy.  I'm not very happy with Google's policy changes basically.  My question is, can I use my 4G LTE sim card in the trophy?  I know a 3G won't work in my Bionic...wondering is backwards compatible.

The HTC Trophy does have a slot for a standard SIM card, but only for global use. It's a different SIM card than the 4G LTE SIM.
I have a Droid Charge and an HTC Trophy. Trophy's SIM is for global roaming only

  • Copying contacts name and number onto SIM card

Hi. Firstly I know there are topics* on this, albeit outdated and offer no real solutions.
    This issue need serious attention.
    Scenario
BB Curve scroller is broke, can't scroll up/down.
Backed up my contact list to restore later when I get my fixed phone back.
Meanwhile, to use a replacement phone, I will need some contact names + numbers on my SIM.
I cannot count on the replacement being a BB, don't count on sync.
    Solutions
Copying a few contacts one-by-one is _not_ an option, without a scroller this is impossible.
Example: Home screen > press "c" for contacts -> filter to contact > menu > press "v" to select view > can't scroll to the number to actualize the 'copy to SIM' menu action.
So, how can I copy my contacts to the SIM card?
    Notes
Reading the older threads, there is very unhelpful biased rude remarks about how this requested "feature" is not 'important' enough or a real requirement for modern phones.
I say this house is built on wobbly foundations. This is the base of HID (human interaction devices), cross communication and transfer of data.
I'm disappointed in RIM for locking down the device in such a way - so many folks ask for this feature, because it is a standard around since the first of cellular phones.
SIM card may only have 32K of storage, but I still expect them to keep a name and a number if I need.

Unfortunately, I don't either. If you delete the MobileMe account from the iPhone, I believe you'll erase all of the contact info on the iPhone. If it's not in MobileMe either...well, that's not good!
One possibility for the contacts data (but not the calendar data). Contacts are backed up when you sync the iPhone (not to your Address Book via sync with MobileMe active, but in the iPhone backup made by iTunes before a sync). There's 3rd party app, MobileSyncBroswer, which can export the contact info from the iPhone's backup file on your hard drive. You'd need to buy a license to actually export the contact data, the free version lets you see part of the contact info so you can make sure it's there.

  • My phone is displaying "no sim card installed".

My iphone 4s is not recognizing the sim card as being installed. How do I fix this situation?

Spoke with Apple Care this morning and they had me go to my carrier to have my sim card swapped out.  Apparently this is not all that uncommon.
