No to Balckberries. Windows-based PDAs have players (most
recently a version of FlashLiite 2 for Win Mobile 5) and the Sony
Clie (I think) had a player at one time.

Blackberry and PDA Java Applications

Is it possible to use JDeveloper to develop java applications for Blackberry and PDA devices?
A colleague of mine has recently started developing a prototype application using the IDE that is available from www.blackberry.com but it is a "bit clunky" therefore I would like to know if JDeveloper can be used to develop and deploy applications to these devices.
I'd appreciate your thoughts and suggestions, along with any additional resources that you could point me in the direction of that are related to this area.

I've had a look at the link that you posted. It appears that JDeveloper will only allow you to create applications for:
Dell-Axim
Siemens Sx56
Hp-2220
that are running specific operating systems.
We are attempting to write applications for a variety of different blackberry devices, not palms.
Have you or anyone got any further information/ideas?

XMAM3.0 Laptop and PDA together

Hallo there!
We are facing a problem with the 2 Versions of xMAM3.0 SR4. There is a version for Laptop and one for PDA. What are the differences? i.e. filesize is identical?!?
Some employees in our company will use xMAM on a laptop and others on a PDA. So we need both versions deployed. SAP note #1046823 says:
"MAM 3.0 laptop and handheld UIs can not function correctly when both deployed on the same MI installation."
What exactly does that mean? Do we need 2 MI installations on 2 middlewares? Or does it mean, that we can't deploy the 2 versions (Laptop/PDA) on one MI client instance?

The difference as far as my knowledge goes is only w.r.t the UI and nothing in the underlying architecture. The laptop version makes use of the large screen available which was not to be the case in earlier versions. The UI has been developed taking into account the SAP UI guidelines.
What the note says is that you cannot have both laptop and pda version installed on one client. You wouldnt require 2 middlewares but just that one MI Client(say laptop) can only have laptop version of MAM installed on it and cannot have PDA version installed on it as well. So if you have laptop, just install laptop version and on PDA just install PDA version.

Synching Blackberry and Windows Live Mail

Hi.. I am new to the world of Blackberry and not very technically minded !
I would be very grateful for some help with the following please:
I use Windows Live Mail for all my email addresses. When I delete an email from Blackberry this does not delete in Live Mail. How can I set things up so that when I delete an email from Blackberry it deletes the email from Live Mail too?
I would like to keep calendar on my Blackberry that synchs with a calendar on my laptop.. so information is viewed the same on both Blackberry and laptop and updates both ways regardless of where the information is inputted.  Is this possible to do and how?

Reconciliation between your BB and your email server will be governed by this KB:

From what you are requesting, it indeed should be possible. Therefore, please also check this KB:
KB13509How to reconcile email messages between the messaging server and the BlackBerry smartphone
and ensure that you have configured everything correctly. Also be sure that you are waiting an appropriate time length...it has been witnessed for deletion reconciliation to take up to 8 hours at times (it varies quite a bit based on a number of factors).

For this, it is indeed possible, but again depending on circumstances. You can reconcile your BB to the following desktop calendar applications:

Assuming you already have one of the compatible applications and it already has all of your data, then I suggest the following steps. It is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
1) Download, to your PC, the RIM Desktop Software:

2) Install the Desktop Software onto your PC
3) Start the organizer configuration:

I got a new blackberry and it has a new pin with it. How can I get the new pin in the desktop manager? it keeps coming up with the old pin asking if I want to sinc with the new one but than it doubles my calendar entries...

In some cases, it has been discovered that updates (from AppWorld obtained apps) require additional steps in order to install the update. If the update will not install, please attempt this:
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications > highlight the app > BBKey > Delete
AppWorld > MyWorld > Login > highlight the app (if it shows at all, in any state) > BBKey > Delete
Use either your PC (via Mass Storage Mode) or your BB (via Media > BBKey > Explore) and find any references (folders, files) to the app. Delete whatever you find. Search both your Device Memory as well as your Media Card.
Use the above AppWorld user guide link to re-install the app -- a new registration/activation key should then be provided
If that does not work, then please return to these forums (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/) and register an account so that we can provide you with direct assistance.

Why can't i put an out of office on my iphone email? Blackberry and other android phones will allow this feature.

I just purchased my iPhone, one thing I don't like is that with my Blackberry it allowed me to put an Out of Office reply to my emails. I thought the iPhone was a leader!!! Blackberry and other Android phones can do it.

Why can't you? Simple..Apple doesn't include that feature.
Download and use iMExchange instead.

Mismatched versions of Labview and PDA Module

Last spring we received the update of labview 8.2 to 8.2.1 and we bought labview PDA 8.2.1. We installed the whole this week. When I try to run\build the VI, the error "Mismatched versions of Labview and PDA Module" appears.
I looked on the forum and found a similar case but it updated Labview and LV PDA. I never had LV PDA 8.2. I try to install LV PDA 8.2.1 with LV 8.2 but it is impossible because it is not the same version.
Do you have an idea of the cause of the problem?

You will have to install LV 8.2 first then update it to 8.2.1.
Reboot your PC.
Install the LV 8.2.1 PDA toolkit (know that the toolkit also requires some other programs, mainly MS ones).
This should work.

Wow.. i thought I bought a good phone. But reading the JBenchmark for the SonyEricsson T610 wasn't fun at at all. Are other phones really up to 3 times faster? Anyone with experiance from testing with other phones?

Integrate BlackBerry and CUMA by Wifi ?

I need to build a demo to our clients, and this is our stage:

BlackBerry 8900Bold (with Wifi)
Our problem is that when we downloaded the OAR File we can't find some software compatible with the gsm network (Argentina), and I'm thinking install "Cisco unified Mobile communicator" in Blackberry and integrate it with CUMA by Wifi, because I'm inside the network and this is only for demo purpose.
Can you say me if it's posible integrate Blackberry with wifi and Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage out of gsm network ?

We have CUMA set up in a lab environment with a wireless network simulating the Internet and ASA as the TLS Proxy. We have CUMA working with a Nokia smartphone over the WiFi, but the blackberry just does not want to work.
We are getting an error when trying to launch the application: Certificate Error. A valid certificate is required. App will now exit.

The setup , as was mentioned, is basically the same as a Wimndows Mobile device. You need mail server name, your domain login and credentials You will also need to check you wi-fi connection and be sure you can get rhough whatever enterprise proxy servers you might have. If you have 3g I would use that and not mess around with a proxied network, if that is an issue for you.
One additional caveat....adding another mobile device significantly increases the complexity of your mail delivery system. There are articles on the Microsoft kbase that talk about Outlook calendaring best practices. Watch for calendar consistency issues. You might consider running Outlook in online rather than cached mode, or at the minimum deleting and rebuilding your cache file.

One day with my Blackberry and I hate it - Wifi Problem

I bought my first blackberry and setup the wifi network. He find the wifi net and I start to download some things. I lot of time after I discover wifi not working only data traffic of cell phone company. When I made Wifi diagnostics I never get the Ip address of the router. I have a dlink - 524 and works with 4 notebooks in my house but don't work with blackberry. What's the problem?

That is correct. IF you only want to access your WiFi data, and use the WiFi hotspot browser.
So, connect to a WiFi router. Make sure in the Manage Connections screen you see the name of your WiFi router and white dash.

Now, on your BlackBerry go to Options > Advanced > Browser.
Set the Browser to HOTSPOT, and save.
Now you can use your browser on the internet and that's about it. No email, no BlackBerry Messenger, no Facebook app, no BlackBerry Maps.

TS1398 Have Wi Fi at home and for some reason over the weekend it stopped working on ipad and iphone but works on blackberry and 2 x computers......help

I have Wi Fi at home, over the weekend it stopped working on our Ipad and Iphone, yet it still works on Blackberry and laptop and desktop, have tried forget this network, have tried reset network settings but looks like nothing works, The Ipad and phone show the "mushroom" bars as if connected, yet it doesn't display the family wi fi network as normal,.....help

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 tonight and initially had the same problem. I could send a text via iMessage only through cellular network; not my wifi. After fooling around with the settings for an hour or so, I THINK I solved the problem...
According to an article I read online, iOS 6 unifies your phone number and Apple ID. Therefore, if someone sends an iMessage to your phone number, you could hypothetically receive it via an iPad or Mac. In my case, I didn't have my cell number listed on my Apple ID account. Therefore, when I connected to my wifi, iMessage tried to access my number via my Apple ID. Since I didn't have my number listed, iMessage subsequently didn't work.
I logged into my Apple ID, added my mobile number. I also rest my network settings under 'settings,' 'general,' 'reset,' and 'reset network settings.' Then, I restarted my phone. Under my message settings, I selected 'send and receive' and made sure BOTH my phone number AND email address were selected. Everything SEEMS to be working fine now...
