Blackberry Assistant is mute!

I have installed the latest 10.3.1 on my passport and since then the blackberry assistant does not speak (it is completely mute). This is useless and dangerous and not acceptable for a 'premium' phone that I paid $800 for! I have blanked the device, reinstalled the os with no luck and went through all of the settings for BB Assistant. Please help!!!

Please be explicit about the OS level you have installed...OS versions are always 4 octets, not 3. And there are many many improvements in the different 10.3.1.x versions, including the most recently released one (only this most recent Friday).
Also, please tell us exactly how you "installed" the OS...there are several methods, each with different potential issues.

Blackberry Assistant, function and features

When using the blackberry Assistant to dictate a E-mail or message, is it possible to insert a line break?
Also is it possible to control or adjust the punctuation being inserted/use? For example, when you say double quote the assistant inserts the HTML #quote; tag verses simply the " symbol.
Also, is there a reference document of the possible Assistant commands that can be used? Its impossible to click or tap on the info "?" icon when you can't see it.

Blackberry Assistant, features and functions

According to the Blackberry Classic user guide, when using the Blackberry Assistant and working with E-mails you can: Send an e-mail, reply to an e-mail, and search your e-mail messages. However I'm unable to search or find any E-mails using the assistant in that it responds that no E-mails were found. If I issue the command "read messages' the assistant will search and notify me of any text messages and request further direction such as read, reply etc.
Now, I have the Hub configured to display all E-mails, messages etc. in separate folders only but given that text messages are being read I don't think this should make any difference.

I do PowerPoint presentations very often... it is a pain to bring a pointer, and have the pointer work at every business meeting. it would be grand to have a pointer bulit-in with smart phone.

You want to delete Assistant? It's a core app. Can't be deleted, at least not as would delete any other app.

Blackberry Assistant and Reminder Notes

There appears to be an inconsistency between creating a new Reminder note manually and when using the blackberry Assistant. When manually performed, your given the ability to provide a "title" to your note in addition to the content, whereas when using the Assistant your prompted merely to provide the content of what you wish your note to say. Unless I'm not doing it right.

I found additional inforamtion on the BlackBerry Web Client to set up email accounts to be wirelessly extended to your handheld including MSN, Hotmail, AOL, Outlook, Notes, IMAP or POP3/ISP email. Email is redirected wirelessly to your BlackBerry Handheld so you can send, receive, forward and reply to messages while you're on the go. You can also view popular document attachments on your handheld.
Is anyone useing this with Lotus Notes, does it work?

Disable Blackberry Assistant greeting text when connecting via bluetooth

My Z30 updated to the latest OS 10.3.1.1581. Now whenever in connects to Ford Sync via Bluetooth I get a text message greeting telling me what day it is. This is getting annoying real fast. Can anyone direct me to how to disable the greeting?

I’m getting the same thing on my Z10 “incoming text message from BlackBerry Assistant”. I’ve deleted a few dozen of these messages off of Microsoft Ford Sync already. They just keep coming every time I connect my Z10. I can’t find any way of stopping it either. Checked all my options within Sync and my Z10. Does someone out there know how to turn this initialization message OFF?

Guys, here's the problem, I just updated my blackberry to 10.3.1. but, when i use blackberry assistant, it's just not responding. For example, when i say, "Open Blackberyy world". it says that "cannot find blackberry world app" or something like that.

My problems are more.
I updated the 10.3.1.1565 on my z10 two days ago, and my life has been a hell.
Firstly, my battery runs down completely within an hour, I had to buy a new battery thinking the one i had gotten drained
Secondly, some of my contacts do not load fully, and so do not open
Thirly, alot of the apps frezzes or they delay in opening
I have to consistenly reboot and it's getting frustrating, i wish I can go back to the old software.
Please someone should assist

Change in voice commands for Blackberry Assistant with version 10.3.1

The change in the voice activation commands have a massive impact in my work productivity as I can no longer voice dial without touching the screen while I am driving. Now with a voice command say "call and a name" it comes back with possible multiples for that contact because of similarity , (or not as I have found on occassion), it will not speak the multiple contacts but just displays them on the screen and doesn't let you initiate another call until this question is answered. It is ilegal to touch the phone in Australia so this makes it almost impossible to make a call whilst driving without breaking the law!
The old version in BB os 10.2.1 used to reply with the phrase "did you say" and repeat back the interpretation of what you said and wait for you to say yes or no before moving on to the next option. the old version also used to allow you to select voice dialling only. You could also by saying the word "exit" at any time leave voice dialling on the old version at any time. BB assistant keeps repeating its last request until you manually exit the application by closing it by touching the screen.
How long will it take Blackberry to reverse this backwards step or is there a work around?

What a Shame. Flash could have been left in. Many older sites use it and will not be updated anytime soon if ever. Now we have to hack around to get it working ourselves.

BlackBerry Assistent speech recognition on Passport

I asked BB assistant "Blackberry limited stock price". The Assistant asked me back "Would you like to search your device for Blackberry limited stock price". If I respond "Yes", it gives me a lot of small icons, Bing, Google, Yahoo etc. That is the end of searching. If I respond "No", the search is cancelled. Why?
Basically I asked the exact same question as a Youtuber, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdJ4_kxL8v4. His question starts at 7:06. His assistant gives him a price and a correct respond/answer, but not mine. Why? All of my setting are default and connected through Wi-Fi. Thanks for your help!

Blackberry Assistant

With the installation of the newest OS, now when my Z10 connects via Bluetooth to my car radio, a message is sent that when listened to, tells me the current time, and that I currently have no appointments.
If I get in and out of my car 20 times a day, guess what, 20 messages that I must manually delete from the radio. (Voice commands will not delete messages.)
Is there a means of disabling this "connection" message? It's getting very annoying.

Never mind, I've wiped the device and loaded 10.2.1 back. 10.3 was a failure on too many levels.

Recommendations:
The Blackberry Screen Reader setting “silent on call” should either be expanded to include when the blackberry Assistant is operational or a separate switch should be provided to avoid conflicts.
There should be a way to mute the screen reader during video, music play back and while receiving voice assisted directions.
The Blackberry Screen Reader when creating a new Email should resolve to the To field immediately upon the app opening verses the body of the Email as is currently happening.

An Update for BlackBerry Maps is Seriously Overdue

I've been with BlackBerry 10 since day one with the Z10 and I've noticed that the BlackBerry Maps app never really gets any love. This is a bare bones app that has still not gotten the update it needs and I believe many of us feels it is time.
It seriously needs public transit directions and schedule updates and incorporating nearby POI when asked (much in line with what the BlackBerry Assistant does). I'm personally not a person who drives and prefers transit and I find this really frustrating not to have such a great feature built into this app.
The option to view in satellite and and a hybrid of the satellite and standard map view is also important.
Performance updates is needed as it is taking longer than usual for the app to load due to 10.3.1.
Please update the app soon if you want to attract more users.

I've used BeMaps Pro, Google Maps and Blackberry Maps in tandem at one point, but I just don't get why Blackberry doesn't do what Apple did for iOS, Nokia with Windows Phone and Google for Android. It's a native app and a no-brainer that should come standard on any smartphone eco-system!
It shouldn't be hard to provide an update these days, I mean, Blackberry should be able to figure it out why it hasn't been able to attract more new users and actually RETAIN them.
I get the fact that the bottom line for Blackberry is corporate base and security, but to really get them locked in, the native experience is really what matters the most. A user shouldn't need to rely on several apps just to do one thing. I'd say re-invest in TAT and Blackberry World, make it attractive and maybe even make it into a cash cow too.
I find Blackberry Maps more reliable than Google Maps, but am hesitant to say 100% simply because Blackberry Maps feels like Google Maps lite and so does other apps. I don't want to sound like a whiny fan, but please, the phone is supposed to make your life easier, not harder.

BlackBerry Messenger is not working with the WiFi

I'm living in France and i'm now in an other country for holidays and i would like to connect to BBM with just the WiFi but my WiFi logo is in grey so i can go on internet but not on BBM . I've call my operator and they told me that there were a manipulation to do with the BlackBerry who is on the BlackBerry Assistance but i don't find it. Someone could tell me how to talk to my friends with BBM with just the WiFi please ?

Sorry ankush8 but that's not true. All the BB services can work over wifi as long as the carrier allows you to do so. of course, you have to have a BB data package.
