Blackberry bold 9780

I am having a problem with my phone while using Wi-Fi. It shows connected and even whatsapp is working but I am unable to browse anything and whenever I try to browse it gives me an error unable to find requested server.

Are you able to send BBM messages/email over wifi as well? Make sure Blackberry dots logo appears next to signal bar.

    I don't believe that is a feature available on a BB but you should contact your carrier to confirm.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    If that fails to help, then I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe ModeIt may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    Next think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

  • Transfer all data from blackberry bold 9780 to iPhone 5

    I have a iPhone 5 16 GB recently purchased, I need to transfer all data from the Black Berry Bold.
    I need all contacts, documents, pics, E-Mail set-up etc. basically everything.
    I need a seamless transition from one to the other. I have not even opened up the iPhone box yet.
    Does anyone have a simple easy way to do this?
    Only thing I have to work with is the iPad!
    Was thinking of iCloud but have no Wi-Fi connection here.

    If anyone is still struggling with this problem for the iphone 5 I just figured out how to fix it! it wasn’t easy because google sync doesn’t work on a blackberry anymore and outlook doesn’t help if you don’t got it so I had to go the long way and spend 2hrs of my time figuring it out while the actual solution only takes 5 mins!
    So I downloaded an app called "Phone to Phone transfer" there’s other apps like this one but this is the only one that’s available on both blackberry and iOS so its the one I used and it worked, read: 3 steps to transfer all contacts from BlackBerry to iPhone 5
    1) Download the app on your blackberry and sign-up for an account i used an email i barely use and its free so it was all quick and easy
    2) Sync your contacts on your blackberry using the app
    3) Download the same app this time on your iPhone and use the same log-in details as you used when you signed up on your blackberry
    4) Sync contacts again and press download and... that’s it! all your contacts are now on your new iPhone.

    My BlackBerry shuts down after taking 2 or 3 photos. Don't think battery is the issue as there's no problem with normal usage for calling or texting. Can usually last a few days without charging.

    You seem perhaps to already have tried at least some of what is discussed in this thread, but I cannot tell if you've truly tried it all...therefore, I suggest this thread:

    It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Otherwise, it really sounds like you have some major conflict or issues with your Windows OS itself. While quite rare, it's not unheard of needing to completely reinstall Windows so as to get things working well. But, before you resort to that, you should do all of the normal Windows stuff -- Windows updates, check all of your apps for updates, run registry cleansers, run full virus scans, run malware detectors, etc. etc. etc. This very much sounds like a PC/Windows problem more than a Desktop Software problem.

    Please start here:
    KB05305Localization support for BlackBerry smartphones
    If, per that KB, an OS package exists for the language and capabilities you desire, then you can proceed. If not, well, then what you desire is simply not available.
    If it is available, then it is a matter of using the information from that KB as you proceed, and installing the proper OS package to your BB, ensuring that you select the proper language options (usually there are two of them during the OS install) during the install. Then, after it is installed, you activate the language you desire within the main Settings of the BB device.
    For the OS loading, the simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:

    Check carefully the filename of what you select, ensuring as per the first KB linked above that the words in the filename include what is require so as to include the language you desire
    4) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    5) Launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC. If, during the process, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
    Don't forget to backup.
    If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

    Last week, I was just playing games on my blackberry, then that white screen appeared.
    I've changed the screen. But still there is a white screen. Just blank. My phone just appeared normally on Blackberry Desktop as usual. Then, I did the resettofactory, and wiped it. But now, my bb doesn't appear on Blackberry Desktop. What should I do? Please help.

  • I can't print from my blackberry bold to my Photosmart Premium C310a,

    I tried to install the eprint app on my blackberry bold 9780 and i am unable to enter the eprint address of my printer, nor could i find my printer that is on the same wifi network. When i search for my printer on the same wireless network, it does not find it.  When i search for printers i get all fed-ex locations, when i enter the address of my printer [email protected], i get an "invalid printer" error. 
    Did I install the wrong app?  Is there a different free app to install.  Is there a problem with my configuration.   I can print from my apple iPad & iPhone, but i can't get the blackberry to print.
    I am sure it's something simple that i am doing wronng..

    I believe the app you installed is for printing to remote printers that are registered shares such as the Fed-ex stores.This feature is for printing on the go.
    Not really sure if the Blackberry can print via your wireless network,you may need to use the email feature.Don't have A BB so just a best effort.

  • Whatsapp Problems [Bold 9780]

    whats app will not work on my blackberry bold 9780, it will only let me open it when once when i first install it, i get to the first stage where it wants me to enter my number, when i do enter my number and try and go to the next step it will say awating network, and will not move from that stage, ive had whatsapp open for 2 days now and it still says the same thing.
    is there anythink i can do about this?

  • No puedo sincronizar blackberry bold con Outlook 2010

    Tengo Outlook 2010 y windows 7 y blackberry Bold 9780. Cuando intento sincronizar contactos y calendario a traves de desktop software aparece un error "Click to run" y posteriormente me indica que debo usar una versión abterior de outlook ya que la versión 2010 no es compatible.
    Me puede alguien decir si hay solución o realmente no es compatible?

  • Backing up bold 9780 to Mac computer

    I am trying to back up my bb to mac computer.  When I connect the bb to the computer and I enter the correct passwords the bb says connected to desktop but then the message on screen says "failed to connect to your blackberry device - reconnect your device and try again" - any ideas whether I need to change any setting on bb on mac to allow for connection.  Thank you.

    Did the BlackBerry Desktop Software ever detect the BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone?  Also when the BlackBerry is connected via USB, is it charging?  
    Also can you try accessing BlackBerry Desktop Software under a different user account on the Mac?
