Blackberry Browser Icon Missing, NOTHING helped...

Hey guys, I got my blackberry Pearl 8100 for quite some time now, but for some weeks now I got some Problem I wanna fix right now.
Since I never wanted to use my blackberry browser I didnt even realise its icon was gone, but now I do and I want it back...
I've tried different solutions offered in other threads (resend service book, reregister HRT Host Routing Table and even pull out the power cell while it was turned on and leave it out for at least 30 seconds)
Nothing helped, the Icon is not showing up, not at the Theme Im using where it should be at the home screen and not even in the menu.
I can only start the browser while doing this in the main menu: switch application and then chose the browser.
Ive found something which could at least help to help me, when Im at Options under the Blackberry Browser, then go to advanced options and then under default browser I cannot chose anything at all. Just Empty...
Since the Browser is installed there must be some kind of solution to bring the Icon back, but I dont know how...
On the Home Screen at my Today & Zen Theme there is just an empty place now where the BB Browser Icon should be...
Thanks a lot for your help!

So the icon isn't hidden?
Does it show the IPPP service book is listed?
Does the Browser show as being installed under Options | Advanced Options | Applications?

  • Bridge Browser icon missing - even though connected on BES

The Bridge Browser icon has disappeared off my Playbook.
Before you tell me it's OS2 it's not - the Playbook is connected to a BES smartphone, and I've had OS2 since I first got the Playbook and it's only now that the icon has gone.
I've tried a reset, I've tried re-pairing the tablet and the phone. All the other Bridge icons are there and the tablet is fuctioning normally other than this.
    Any help is much appreciated.

Have you tried deleting and reconnecting your BlackBerry Bridge?

  • Bridge Browser icon missing after the upgrade to OS2

I have suddenly realised that the Bridge Browser icon has been missing from my PlayBook after the Upgrade to OS2. My service provider data plan supports browsing and I use to do that earlier on OS1. Now a days, since I am mainly using Mifi device...did not use Bridge Browser....BUT suddenly realised that this icon is missing.....
Any idea what I need to do to get that icon back on PlayBook? and also use it....

It's really funny...The OS2 manual says that there will be an icon for Bridge Browser....but in reality...you do not require any separate bridge browser icon...Browser main icon works for both...wifi connection as well as bridge connection....
I am surprised, why RIM has not highlighted this fact in its OS2 manual.....
    Anyways....my problem is resolved....

  • Image Button file browser icon missing

Hi there, I've been using C5 this week for the 1st time and have been working through a project. All has gone ok to date, a few niggles along the way but I've run into a huge bug this morning which is wrecking my plan to finish the project.
I'm adding an image button to a slide and have found to my frustration that the file browser in Properties has vanished, pushed out past the properties block, which of course cannot be resized to the right (thanks Adobe, nice UI design there). This means I can't choose any image for my button apart from those already loaded in the preview which is utterly useless. I've attached a screenshot to show what it looks like.
As you can see the Image Button drop down has gone very wide and pushed the folder browser icon out of sight. Simply maddening!
I had been using image buttons all week with out any issues. Yesterday an update appeared (5.0.1.624) for C5 so I applied it. Then this issue started. I have since uninstalled C5 and reinstalled without applying the update and its still doing it. What I didn't do was reboot after the uninstall, maybe I should have done...
Anybody else come across this? if it is a bug its a crippling one!!!!

    Hi Niall-Mac and KiHwa -
This is indeed a CP bug!!! We found this some months ago - it turns out that if you name your button images with a very long file name (35-40 characters plus), it slowly starts pushing the "browse" folder icon further and further to the right of the panel. Add a few more buttons with longer file names to the gallery and eventually it disappears altogether, like you both have encountered (see image).
Workaround 1 (best practice IMO until CP dev team fixes this):
We started creating buttons in a separate CP file, creatively named "projectName_buttons" - this way any time we need a button we go to this file and copy/paste it into our project and we never have to mess with the button gallery in our working (source) file. If the "browse" icon disappears again in our buttons file, we simply copy all our buttons from our "project_buttons" file into a new blank project and save over the old (broken) one.
    Workaround 2 (not so user-friendly):
    1. Stretch your timeline panel as wide as it can go on your monitor (I use two 21" monitors to develop so I can make my timeline rather long)
    2. Undock the properties panel so that it is a floating window
    3. Drag the properties panel by the topmost dark gray bar just above the "Properties" tab and place it just below the timeline until it snaps into place - now don't let go of it just yet, drag it up a tiny bit further - as you do this a blue bar will appear signifying that it will dock to that position (underneath the timeline) - when you dock it to the timeline it will stretch to the same length as the timeline and voila, you can now see the "browse" icon - however, who wants a properties panel that takes up your whole monitor!!!! I certainly don't.....
On a side note, it is very disheartening that once buttons are in the button gallery you have NO CONTROL over them - if they need to be edited you are forced to rename them so you can import a fresh button. This method unnecessarily creates TWO copies of a button in your gallery - the more edits you make to a button the more copies of that button you get in your gallery....some control over the button gallery would be nice.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  • Browser Icon missing

I  do nto have  the Browser Icon on my 8700 desktop..  does it need to be installed ?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you do happen to have a data plan and it's still not working, try the following:
Go to options > advanced options > host routing table > click in on your trackwheel > select register now
This should provision your data services.

  • Blackberry drive icons missing on PC

I'm new to this BB stuff, an old Treo user.  I use my Sprint 8330 with two computers.  The one at work I consider my primary that I usually sync from and the second at home secondary that I generally sync to.  When I hook the curve up to either I hear 2 of the "USB hookup sounds".  I assume one is for the phone and the other the media card in it.  However the PC at the office shows no icons corresponding to the phone and the one at home shows 1.  The one at home apparently represents the media card, because if I take the card out of the phone and hook it up to the PC,  I get both USB tones and though the drive icons still shows up, I get the message to please put a disc in.
I keep hearing that people can drag and drop files onto the phone, but I'm a little confused about this.  I think I have read some people saying they get two drive icons, one corresponding to the phone and the other to the card.  I feel like I really would like to know what I'm supposed to have and how to get it.  Can anyone give me anything definitive on this?

Actually that didn't solve the problem, but I did get the answer through my local Sprint store.  It goes like this in case anyone has a similar problem.  When you hook up the BB to the PC, it places the card in the device the next available physical drive letter.  At work, I have as my "I" drive a mapped network drive which has to have that designation to pull images into an electronic medical record app.  It turns out that i have all the letters through H assigned to physical drives already (a floppy, a Zip drive, 2 hard drives, a CD drive, a DVD burner, and a multicard reader that uses 2).  We found that if you go right click My Computer/Manage/Disc Management, the card (which is what was missing)  will show up with the letter designation that was "hidden" by the mapped network drive.  Then, simply assigning it a different letter ( I chose K just to keep it one away from anything else) is simple and fixed it up fine.
I really don't know why the EMR developer chose a drive designation that low, I think it would have made a lot more sense to start with "Z " which is what I use at home for a folder I use from the server at work.  I sort of think it makes sense to assign physical drive designations starting with A, and network drives backward from Z.  Surely to god, 26 should be plenty to work with and it would cut down the confusion.
BTW, I think that BB hides the letter for the device memory to keep us from messing with system files and really screwing things up.  Their software can install and remove things from it, but it keeps dummies like me from deleting something harder to fix.  Probably not a bad idea, really.

  • Curve 8330 Missing browser icon

The browser icon is missing from my home page.  No icons are hidden.  When I check under applications for browser it shows it as installed.  HELP!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Was it there before and just went missing? If you change to different theme (Options | Theme) is it still missing.
Try reregistering the device by going into Options | Advanced Options | Host Routing Table. Select the bold entry, hit the menu key and select Register Now. That should send a registration message from your carrier to the device. Afterwards try removing the battery for 30 seconds.

My ipad mini doesn't have a web browser! Help. I can't access the internet or iTunes or the app store. The web browser icon isn't even there.Anyone know what to do?

I'd maybe try doing a search for Safari on your iPad first (swipe to the left to search). If it shows up in that search you can go to Settings > General > Reset and choose 'reset home screen layout' which will put it back where it would be by default.
    All else fails? Restore it.

If you have a external USB enclosure - trying installing your hard drive in that enclosure and connect it to your usb port - restart your macbook while holding down the options key.  If you Macbook boots to your desktop then you have a faulty cable.  If you get the same error, then your hard drive just died on you.
    good luck.

I have lost the blackberry hub icon from my home screen. I can access the hub, by going through the messages icon.

There is no "hub" application in AppWorld.
Why would you suggest this, knowing it is not possible and no in app world? You can easily check app world yourself before posting this.
