Blackberry browser trouble

I have a Pearl 8120 and i've tried to use the browser through my home wireless network and everytime i try to use the browser it loads one page then when trying a new page i get,  "A problem occurred while trying to render the page"
I've tried clearing the cache through the browser options then i tried to take the battery out and let it set for a few minutes then put the battery back in an the browser still does the same thing what should i do to fix the problem.

I had this problem last night.   I was able to access a regular 'non BB homepage' by navigating 'to recent page and then the "go to" button magically appeared.
After this got to be super annoying,  Idid a battery pull.  So far so good.

  • Uable to open PDF document in proper format on blackberry browser

We are trying to open a document hosted in MOSS document library using blackberry browser. The document type can word, excel, power point, pdf. But when we are trying to open PDF document using blackberry browser the document is displayed as long string of text message rather than PDF document and strips all the formatting.
But if we email the same document and try opening that in blackberry then it works fine. Please share your thoughts, how we can properly render these documents on blackberry browser. Because this is a show stopper for our solution approach in which user can open any document on his blackberry.

  • I can't browse using my blackberry browser (wifi connection w/ BB curve 8520)

    good day!
i purchased a blackberry curve 8520 (w/contract) from one of the telecommunication companies in my country - philippines. everything started all good until one day i can no longer open/use my pre-installed blackberry browser.
everytime i click on the bb browser logo, the screen just does nothing... nothing loads up on my phone.
then i tried opening the bb browser throgh the task manager panel a message appears stating: "your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries. please contact yor service provider to enable the browser on your device"
i have tried rebooting the phone several times, both soft and hard.
can you give me any solution for my problem? TIA.
P.S. i have unlocked my phone so i can use it on other carriers. but the problem started a month before i did so. my two friends also have the same phone (bought the same day as mine) and they are not experiencing the same problem.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here are updated instructions, including notations of the required response from each step. If the response arrives correctly, you move onto the next step. If the response does not arrive correctly, you drop out of the process and contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Regarding blackberry browser PDF loading issue?

    Hi All,
I have uploaded a PDF file on server and in blackberry browser m providng the URL for that particular PDF. I  have used BlackberrySessionFactory and ServiceRecordHelper class which are provided by RIM.
The problem is sometimes browser doesn't take much time to downlaod PDF.
and in some cases browser takes much time to download.
I am not able to figure it out what exactly the problem is.
Is it because of network speed or is there some other issue??
Would be of great help if somebody can send a reply.
    Thanks.

    Hi sumit,
I am facing the same issue. Are you trying to view the pdf in the browser of the simulator or the actual device? For me, the browser does not render the pdf at all in the simulator. Apparently I need to have BES to view the pdf on the simulator browser. Here's the post that says so:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-Development/Viewing-PDF-through-simulator/m-p/25503#M81
If you can view the pdf on the browser of the Simulator without the BES, then I need to ask a few questions.
    Much Obliged.

  • BlackBerry Browser Issue

    Hi,
I am trying to Hit a Sharepoint URL in the BlackBerry Browser when we Hit the same URL in the Internet Explorer a Pop-up will appear and will ask the Username and Password and it is working fine in WEB BROWSER ON THE DESKTOP. But when I access the same URL in the BlakcBerry Browser then the Pop-up is not appearing and a Erro rmessage is shown Stating "Http Error 401:unauthorized access. Problem occures loadin the page....."
But when I enter the same URL in the BlackBerry Simulator Browser then it working fine and shows the Pop-up to enter username and password and goes in side.
I also cross  checked in the BlackBerry Browser Options and the POP-UP Blocker is not checked, and the Pop-up for entering th user authtication is not Displaying...Pls help wht might be the other options.

Ok, I did a little more digging.... here's what I found.
I turned off ALL radio connections except for WI-FI, so I am connected through my home internet.
I can still browse perfectly fine to all websites, for example:
      m.cnn.com
      m.youtube.com
      m.google.com
However, when I try to browse to...
       m.rogers.com
       m.motime.ca
I get the following dialog box *immediately* popping up (extremely fast, almost as if no network traffic was involved at all, making me think it is coming directly from my phone):
"There is insufficient network coverage to process your request. Please try again later." [OK]
That means to me that the phone has a list of sites, perhaps provided by Rogers, that MUST connect through (or simultaneously have access) through Rogers data-plan service. This way, Rogers is somehow able to provide your phone number directly to these websites.
So my question is, did Rogers not inform anyone about this? How do we block this, where is the list of sites that need a phone data-connection to work, which will not work through Wifi only? I was not surprised to see that "m.rogers.com" needs your phone data connection to work.

  • Blackberry Browser Icon Missing, NOTHING helped...

Hey guys, I got my blackberry Pearl 8100 for quite some time now, but for some weeks now I got some Problem I wanna fix right now.
Since I never wanted to use my blackberry browser I didnt even realise its icon was gone, but now I do and I want it back...
I've tried different solutions offered in other threads (resend service book, reregister HRT Host Routing Table and even pull out the power cell while it was turned on and leave it out for at least 30 seconds)
Nothing helped, the Icon is not showing up, not at the Theme Im using where it should be at the home screen and not even in the menu.
I can only start the browser while doing this in the main menu: switch application and then chose the browser.
Ive found something which could at least help to help me, when Im at Options under the Blackberry Browser, then go to advanced options and then under default browser I cannot chose anything at all. Just Empty...
Since the Browser is installed there must be some kind of solution to bring the Icon back, but I dont know how...
On the Home Screen at my Today & Zen Theme there is just an empty place now where the BB Browser Icon should be...
Thanks a lot for your help!

    So the icon isn't hidden?
Does it show the IPPP service book is listed?
Does the Browser show as being installed under Options | Advanced Options | Applications?

    Hey khaled10,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Do you have the 'Load images' option enabled in the browser? Open the Browser> Press the Menu Key> Options> Under Web Content enable 'Load Images'.
    Thanks.

  • No Blackberry Browser and I can't put my email in....

I've just got a Blackberry 8900 and I only seem to have a hotspot browser and not a blackberry browser and so I can't look at blackberry help!
I also can't set up my email. I only have one option and that's the "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server"
I've tried resetting in the host routing table in options but it hasn't worked. Any ideas?

@mpb1610 so your on BIS? as oppose to the threadstarter which is on BES? have you check the options in your browser and see if there is an internet browser in your options? or you only have hotspot browser?

  • Close Blackberry Browser using WML

I have deveIoped a purchase requistion approval app for blackberry users, using NW04s sp13. After the approval is saved I am trying to close the browser programatically. I have tried using both of these:
    wdThis.wdGetRAComponentBBInterfaceViewController().wdFirePlugOut_plugExit("http://CloseBB.html");
    WDClientUser.forceLogoffClientUser("http://CloseBB.html");
but neither closes the browser on the blackberry it closes fine in IE. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Joe,
You can try these things :
    1. Instead of navigating to your page call google. Put logoff-URL as http://www.google.com. Doing this you will ensure that redirection is working fine.
    2. If above thing works then try giving the complete URL of your html page. i.e : http://server.com......
Also post the code of closeBB.html here. There may be some javscript event you might have which is probably not supported by Blackberry Browser.

  • Problems to download Blackberry Browser with Services Book

Greetings, I have problems to download the Blackberry Browser. I wiped my blackberry in 3 times and it can not install the Blackberry browser. My blackberry only recognizes Internet Browser and I have many issues to download some links by example Facebook's links because it shows Disabled Form or links can only download using my blackberry. I sent more than 5 times Services Books to my blackberry but Blackberry Browser is not installed. I use desktop manager of Blackberry and also it's not installing the Blackberry Browser. I would like , how can I download the Blackberry Browser to my blackberry without Desktop Manager or Services Books ? I appreciate your help.

another option you may have is resettofactory
    start- run- type:
    cmd
    press enter
    type:
    cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
    press enter
    type:
    loader.exe /resettofactory
    press enter
    please perform a backup first
test your browser before you restore your backup, and to be ssafe I would do a selective restore
open DTM, go to backup/restore- advanced
    top left click on file-open
find your backup, it will load on the left side
you current working BB will be on the right side
transfer ONLY the absolute important databases from the left to the right(address, cal, phone logs, messages, sms, tasks, memo)... dont do any that you dont know and dont do any OPTIONS ones

  • Guide to BlackBerry Browser Keyboard Shortcuts

    Hello all,
CIO.com published two valuable BlackBerry tutorials this week, and I thought I'd share. This one breaks down some of the most common BlackBerry browser shortcuts, as well as few little-know ones, like how to enable JavaScript for individual Web pages.
The article doesn't include ALL the BlackBerry browser shortcuts, but it's definitely worth a look.
    Check it:
BlackBerry Browser Shortcuts: Killer Keyboard Tips & Tricks
    AZA
    Device: BlackBerry Bold 9000
    Carrier: AT&T

in the browser, I was not aware of the following shortcuts :
V to find next (after doing F)
J to activate javascript once & reload the page
apart from that, a complete list is available at http://www.stinsonddog.com/

  • Blackberry browser / jdeveloper

while trying to access the URL of the Parts Demo app (ONLY TUTORIAL available on the universe to develop mobile applications using jdeveloper) getting below error .
started the app in embedded OC4J and it works fine in IE, but when trying to access it using Blackberry simulator browser i am getting the following error
    500 internal server error , java.lang.nullpointer exception at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.ui.laf.base.xhtml.xhtmllafrenderer.renderstyleattribute
    etc. .....
the message is pretty long and i am not sure how to post the image of the error , because not able to extract it as text from the simulator screen
    Thanks

I need more info from the stack trace to take a wack at this. Also, what is the current emulation setting for the Blackberry Browser? Is set to the default or Mobile IE? Also, is the ADF Device Repository library loaded in your current project?

  • Blackberry having trouble playing youtube videos

I own a blackberry curve 8530 and its having trouble playing youtube videos. It plays youtube videos up to 59 seconds and then it stops. It gives me the same error message saying:
"An error has occured attempting to play the media".
I have tried turning on and off my phone, pressing alt+enter+del, and doing the battery pull. None of those methods have worked.
Has anyone had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it? Ive pretty much have tried everything i could think of and none of the forums seems to have a solution.
Is the phone the problem or is youtube?
If you know of the solution, your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello hashbrown602,
The following post by Cory from the Inside BlackBerry Help Blog outlines a few steps you can try to successfully play videos from YouTube.
    http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2011/03/watch-youtube-on-blackberry/
If you still have issues after going through each of the steps, you may want to contact your wireless service provider to check your data plan settings.
    Cheers,
