Blackberry Calendar "invite attendee" feature

My husband has a Pearl Flip and I have a Curve 3G we are trying to add calendar appointments on both of our phones using the 'invite attendee' feature.  When my husband creates an appointment he just invitee's me and the appointment shows up on my calendar, however, when I invite my husband to a calendar appointment he gets an email with the subject line stating the appointment name but nothing else (no time or date, just the name) and no appointment shows up on his calendar.  Does anyone know why this is happening or how we might be able to fix this issue?
Thank you in advance for your help!

My husband and I are having the same problem. He has a Bold. I have the Storm 2. Any help with this would be doubly appreciated

  • Calendar Invite Attendees

ok i am new to the forum.  I just left blackberry after 8 years and I was shocked there was no way to invite people to a meeting via the calendar.  my question is does anyone know if there is a way to do this and/or does anyone have insider info as to when this feature will be available?  For the record i am hooked on the palm and am rooting big time for the underdog!!

Did you ever get an answer for inviting attendees to calendar events?  I too am a BB user and would like to use the Pre but this is a serious blunder on the part of the engineers.  It may not work.  Thanks.

  • Calendar Invite Attendee

    Hello!
I just replaced my Pearl with an 8900 Curve, but am having problems sending and receiving calendar invites as they are either not arriving at all or arrive just as text messages. This never used to happen on my Pearl a few days ago.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is not working?
    Thanks vm

    Thanks so much.
set up wireless reconcile and done exactly the same set up as my husband did on his new 8900 Curve.
Could you kindly share with us how you exactly did that?

No change to calendar invite status. Thinking I should just get a new handset to make sure.
Quite honestly, the calendar invite issue won't be a handset device hardware issue, it is a Service Book or email issue, something solvable with your own action in setting up the email to device.
First, getting your PIN of the current device may not be all you need to do.
Are you getting your emails to the device now? If so good.
So, go to Options > Advanced > Default Services, and select the email address the calendar profile will be connected to.
Also, Open your calendar and choose Menu > Options, and there also, select the calendar you will be using.
    And save.
Now try sending an invite again?

  • Calendar Invite Attendee without EXCHANGE

I moved from Blackberry to iPhone 3GS last week. I don't use an Exchange Server, but run Outlook on my Dell desktop. All synching has been completed. Question: Is there anyway to invite an attendee from the Calendar functon of the iPhone when NOT using an Exchange Server environment? That is such a basic function I can't believe Apple doesn't provide for this rudimentary capability.

of course it is possible. If you are going to invite somebody on the iPhone you can still add a person with his/her eMail address in full name, e.g.
Wow wow what? Where do you add the invitee?? There is no option for adding an invitee unless you are creating the calendar event in an Exchange or MobileMe calendar. The OP does not seem to have either of those.

  • Exchange calendar - invite attendee option available only on some iphones

    Hi,
    It is quite strange,
I've got an iphone 3gs with the firmware 4.02 and when I create a new meeting, I've got the mention "attendees" (my traduction from the french invités) available which let me invite people at the meeting.
When I take an iphone 3g updated to 4.02, I haven't this possibility...
Is it because the iphone is a 3G model and not a 3gs ? Should I recreate the exchange setup to get this feature on the 3G iphone like on the 3GS iphone?
Thank you for your answer to this strange problem.
    Best regards

  • Sending calendar invites to Blackberry user

I just switched to an iPhone, from my beloved BlackBerry!  I used to send meeting invites to my husband so he would know where and when kids and I woul be, and if he was required to attend or drive, etc, and other necessary information.  How can I send him calendar invites with my iPhone 5?

    Hey insidespin,
This feature would not be available for a POP or IMAP accounts, this feature would require an email account that uses CALDAV or Activesync.
    Thanks.

  • Why do I have the Invite Attendee option in some calendar events and not in others?

I just entered a lot of kids' activities into my Blackberry and couldn't send them to my husband's--the option was not there.  I have previously been able to do this.  In events that I entered prior to tonight, the invite attendee option is still there, even if I hadn't invited anyone yet.  In each event that I entered tonight, the option is not there.  I recently installed the newer version of Facebook.  My husband changed his facebook options (unchecked the box connecting his facebook account with the blackberry calendar application) and his invite attendee option returned.  I tried the same thing, and it did not work.  I also went under default services and changed the calendar (CICAL) to an email address instead of facebook, and that also did not work.  I don't know if I have BES or BIS--how do I find out?  I have tried checking to see if the desktop organizer is using the blackberry wireless synch as mentioned in a previous post, but that isn't an option next to calendar (only ASCII Importer/Exporter or Yahoo).

Please tell me who is the email provider, Google, Yahoo, etc.

Houston, we have a problem! The first version of Facebook that came out, had a bug that changed the default CICAL
to Facebook. In Default services the CMIME and CICAL should match the main email address, that is also the main
    address on your PC.
Go to the calendar and once started, menu key, options. Calendar options is the name of the screen. You will see a calendar
for each email address, and one for Facebook. Highlight and click each calendar, not the number of records in each.
If you a a calendar for Device Default, let us know the records for that one as well.

If your phone is a personal phone you setup your self, you're most likely BIS. I don't think this will be related to
the wireless sync. Please tell me what Calendar do you sync with. Outlook, Yahoo, etc.
Please go to options, advanced options, applications. Find Facebook and click on it, scroll down and tell me what
    version it is. OK?

  • When I invite attendees to an event the organiser's email address is not the one associated with that calendar; what can i do?

    I use a couple of calendars in lightning; two of them have different email addresses associated in the calendars property page;
when i create a new event in one of those and try to invite attendees, the first member of the event is usually the email address associated with the calendar the event is created in.
with one of my calendars this works fine; and when i change the email address associated to that calender the organiser of events changes accordingly.
with the other one it does not. instead it shows an email address that i do not have configured in any of my email accounts nor have in any of my address books (but it is in fact setup as alias of the correct email address on the mail server, but how would thunderbird find that out?). when i change the associated email address to that calender the organiser of events is not affected, it still shows the wrong email address.
i have tried searching for the email address and significant parts of it in the thunderbird profile directory, to no avail.

  • Blackberry Calendar duplicates entries when receiving invites

When some (not all) invites are sent to me by email, my Blackberry records the invite as soon as the invite is received (not when it is accpeted), and then when I accept the invite in my Outlook (2010) software, and sync, the calendar entry duplicates in the Blackberry.  The Outlook calendar only shows the entry once.  As a result, my Outlook will show one  entry but Blackberry will duplicate the same entry.
If I simply just sync after the invite is recieved on my blackberry (i.e. when the blackberry records the entry) it will not appear on my Outllok calendar.  To have it show up on the Outlook calendar I need to accept the invite in Outlook.  However, as stated above once I do that and sync, the Outlook accpetance will duplicate on the Blackberry calendar.
Just verified, if I also receive an invite and don't yet accept it in either my Blackberry or Outlook, it shows up in the Blackberry calendar, and if I sync before I accept the invite, the sync duplicates the entry in the Blackberry calendar and it doesn't show up in Outlook as being accepted.
    Any ideas?

Might lead nowhere but as you have 8300s that have no Lotus notes issues and you have one 8300 that has an issue you have them under your control.  Take one of the functioning 8300s and do a sise by side compare and note with the errant 8300.
One place to check and confirm settings is Options>Date/Time
Check to see if both units have the same settings.  Quite frankly all else being equal that is the only area that I can think of that would account for a one hour time variance.

  • How can i invite attendees to a calendar invite

How can I invite attendees to a calendar event?  Just got an i-phone 4 after being a BB user for 10 years...UGH

    Hi sesaeteurn,
I have an article for you that will explain how to invite others to your calendar:
    Invitations - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/8/#/iph82c5721ca
Invite others to an event. Tap an event, tap Edit, then tap Invitees. Type names, or tap to pick people from Contacts. If you don’t want to be notified when someone declines a meeting, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Show Invitee Declines.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • Why was the option to invite attendees removed from Calendar??

With the new Samsung "upgrade" we can no longer invite attendees using Calendar.
And Google calendar only uses @gmail account, you can't add your biz email account.

  • Having trouble syncing calendar and inviting attendees to events

I am a Yahoo! mail user with an iPhone 4s and I'm having two problems with my iPhone:
    1. My calendar is not syncing properly. It seems to work fine between my Yahoo! mail calendar and the iPhone calendar. But when I add an event to the calendar from my iCloud account, it only syncs to my iPhone calendar, not my Yahoo! mail calendar.
I have a bunch of events that appear in both my Yahoo! mail calendar and my iPhone calendar... but they are not showing up in the iCloud calendar. I feel like there's some kind of missing link between my iCloud calendar and the Yahoo mail calendar. I can't figure out how to connect the two.
    2. I don't have the option to "invite attendees" to events I create from my phone. However, if I create the event within iCloud, I get the option to "invite attendees."  I want to be able to invite attendees from events I create on my phone - why isn't the option available?!
I have looked under Settings > iCloud and the Calendars is ON.
I have looked under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and the the Calendars are ON there as well.
    Please help!

I had the same problem this morning. Can't find a permanent fix yet, but was able to sync the calendars by going the the info tab in iTunes and scrolling down the page till you get to a section that lets you overwrite your iPhone with your computer. This is a one-time action, per iTunes. After clicking Calendar in the list, I was able to sync successfully. Hope this helps temporarily.

  • IPhone 3G sending calendar invites possible?

Just got iPhone 3G - my first venture into Apple Land and no doubt not my last. I was waiting for this to come out to replace my blackberry for work. Everything is EXCELLENT so far and definitely superior to my BB. One MAJOR problem I (and other BB owners) are trying to figure out is how do you create a calendar invite then email it ("INVITE") others to your meeting/calendar entry where they can respond with an accept/decline/tentative. Any ideas? Is this even possible? It is such a key component to BB and would be so disappointing if this feature was missed. Thank you very much to anyone that can help me with this!!

Apple does not comment on future products or features (or complaints).
    From the iPhone 3G manual:
"If you have a Microsoft Exchange account set up on iPhone with Calendars enabled,
you can receive and respond to meeting invitations from people in your organization.
When you receive an invitation, the meeting appears in your calendar with a dotted
line around it. The icon in the lower-right corner of the screen indicates the total
number of new invitations you have, as does the Calendar icon on the Home screen."
    And:
    "Tap Accept, Maybe, or Decline."
This means that answering invitations should work if you are connected to a Microsoft Exchange server.
It does not work if you're using MobileMe, because MobileMe is only "Exchange for the rest of us". And it does not work if you only use iCal with no server support. In short, if you are using iCal, you're out of luck.
Even if you use MS Exchange, you could only respond to invitations. You can't create them.
There's more. If you view an event on your iPhone, you can see the names of the attendees. You cannot see if they accepted the invitation because there is no status symbol. You can't see if you accepted yourself.
    Have fun!

  • Cant Send Calendar Invites

Cant Send Calendar invites ... the Button is grayed out any suggestions.

But it's not that the "send" button at the bottom is grey. The part I'm trying to use is the "invite again" feature from the drop-down menu next to each attendee, where it gives you the options of "edit attendee", "remove attendee", "open in Address Book" "invite again" and "send email".
As of my experience, it only highlights if the attendee has refused the invite. Not the most practical.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Cannot invite attendees to a BB event created on handheld.

I was getting error KB19454 when trying to sync BB Desktop Manager. This happened two times and the only solution at this point is to restore my handset. This isn't something I'm willing to do regularly.
The way around this was to use Google Calendar in conjunction with iCal, Entourage, Google Sync and Spanning Sync. I got all the programs talking to one another but now I'm unable to invite attendees via my handset for events I create on the 9630.
I used to be able to send invitations with my default email address. Now my only option is to send an invitation with a Blackberry Messenger Group.
    I have five calendar groups:
-Groups (the only option I can select to invite contacts)
    -Device Default
    -Gmail
    -Work account
    -Work account
This immediately started happening when I started using Google Sync.
    Anyone have any thoughts?
    Equipment being used:
    -Blackberry Tour 9630
    -Macbook v1.1
    -Entourage 2008
    -iCal v3.0.8
    -Spanning Sync v3.0.4
    -Google Sync (on handheld)
    Thanks in advance!

Got a solutions for you that worked for me because I have the same annoying problem.
    1. sign in to iclould on the website www.icloud.com/
    2. Go to your calendar
    3. You'll noticed some extra benefits of creating invents here instead of iCal app.  You can actually invite attendees!!  Also, when selecting a day for your event, it pops up a calendar and you just click on the day you want.  On iCal you have to manually type in the date numbers.
    Hope this was helpful.
