  • Impossible to set up email on Blackberry Curve 8300?

There seems no way to set up my email on this AT&T brand unlocked Blackberry Curve 8300.  I can get calls but in email "wizard" setup the only option is for a Blackberry Enterprise Server, which I do not have.  I just want to get my personal email when I am away.  (Maybe I'll just buy a new Kindle...) Is there a solution or should I just sell the phone?

    Cute.
Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • Blackberry curve 8330/ How to use as Modem

Hello Everyone! Please, I desperately need your help. I would like to use my blackberry curve 8330, as a modem for my laptop pc. Can it be done? If so; how? If it cannot be done can you let me know that as well. Thank You all very much! I wait to hear from someone

Depending on your BlackBerry® device model and wireless network, some profiles might not be supported.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 how to disable Edge and surf on WIFI only

    Hi,
Could anybody help me to disable Edge network on vodafone and only phone connects to WIFI when using internet on Blackberry Curve 8520.
    It would be great help!

Just turn off Mobile network. Uncheck the box. Doing that means you can't make phone calls, though. That's the only way. If they're both on and a wifi connection is present it is supposed to use that first but some say it still uses mobile data sometimes.

  • Blackberry Curve 9360: How to fully turn off?

I have recently got a Blackberry Curve 9360 running on O2 UK and the latest update of OS 7 and love it, but want to turn it off over night without setting times for it to turn off and on. I have looked at many posts on forums and want to fully turn it off, as when i click the 'power off' icon or hold down the end key, it just goes into standby. when i set an alarm, it gives me the option to 'turn off' or 'full power off' but they both do the same thing. a battery pull does NOT work as it just turns on again straight away. Help me please!
    thanks,

Ok, I've read what you said.
If you press and HOLD the "end call" key, far right of the trackpad, hold it for about 5-6 seconds, you should get TWO choices, power off and Full power off.
    What do you see?

You should check with your Carrier before doing this as many charge very high fees for this use without a plan, and it's pretty expensive even with a plan.

    Hello Chrissie24,
    Welcome to the forums.
Try not having your device plugged in while you are searching for the application and then when it asks for you to connect your device then connect it via USB.

  • Blackberry curve apps, i cant download still

Hi can someone help, i have had my phone a week now and called several different people ragarding not being able to download apps it just constantly says loading, aparently this is a regular problem but no one seems to be able to help.

    HI again!
There are a few more things to try...starting with the fact that, just a little bit ago today, RIM released version 2.1.0.39 of AppWorld. I advise upgrading to it. You can try simply upgrading or you can use the more tedious process below.
Also, please double check your PayPal account -- log into it from a PC/browser and ensure that the credentials you use there are identical to those you use to log into MyWorld. Also ensure that all credit cards you have attached to PayPal are current and valid...we have learned that if there is any credit card attached to your PayPal account that is invalid for any reason (e.g., expired), it will prevent AppWorld purchases from completing, even if it is not the funding source. Further, there must be at least one (valid) credit card attached to the PayPal account.
We also have heard from some users who report that creating a whole new PayPal account somehow fixes things and allows them to make purchases. I'm not sure why that works, but reports exist that it does.
In addition, you can try this sequence:
    1) Remove AppWorld from your BB (Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications) -- if it requests that you reboot the BB, do so.
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot as described above.
    3) Get a new link and install a fresh copy of AppWorld (from your BB Browser):
    http://www.blackberry.com/appworld
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
    5) See if it now works.
    Cheers!

I get an error message saying that I need to resend the message w/ a proper 10 digit number... Which I have in my address book, but then the phone will add an extra 1 to the #, making it 11 characters, and thus not sending messages.... I have looked through both phone and SMS options and have found nothing that helps.. I have turned off the country code in phone options, resent the SMS, and still had the same problem.  then I took the area code off and the same thing still happened. Please help b/c I cannot text my gf at the moment????!!!
also, it adds a 1 to only certain phone numbers.  i can text almost everybody else just fine, apart from like 3-4 people.

  • Reinstalling software on the curve 8300

I am trying to reinstall several programs that I previously uninstalled on my Curve 8300. The downloaded programs are stored on my desktop. I've reinstalled them on my desktop.  However, when I try to reinstall them on the Blackberry, the BlackBerry Desktop Manager doesn't seem to recognize them and they don't show up on the list of programs to upload. Has anyone had this problem?  any ideas?

  • Problem with installing OS on Curve 8300

Hey everyone ... I just got a new Blackberry Curve 8300 today, and I think I screwed up when trying to update it. I have downloaded the desktop manager as well as the handheld software from AT&T. I have gotten a "507 Error" which I've read means that there is not an OS on the phone. Now, I have gone back and tried to install the software from scratch. When I bring the desktop manager up, it shows that the phone is not connected, even after I click on that USB port. Then, I start to load all the software on the phone with the battery out at first and then I put it in after it begins loading. Now, it says "Connecting to device" and the phone has an hour glass flipping on a white background. Can anyone tell me what to do? It seemed like it loaded the software, but now it can't connect. Thanks!

Nevermind ... I guess I was just being impatient. After about 15 minutes, it finally connected.

  • Curve 8300 - Can't send SMS messages - Email set up?

Hi, my dad has an old Blackberry curve 8300 that was a work phone, it is unlocked and can make and receive calls, and receive sms messages, however I cannot get it to send sms messages.
Is this because he never set up an email address with the Blackberry?
It won't let me enter a personal email address, Is this because it was his work phone and is there any way to change this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi dave12384
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
As it was Work Phone it might have some IT policy enabled on it as a result you may not be able to use those feature .
SMS is Emails service are both different , One comes under Voice level and another under Data Level Services .In order to enjoy Email services on  legacy BlackBerry devices we need BlackBerry Data Plan . When we activate those Data Plan our Carrier push those Service Books to our Device and it will allow us to add any email account on our Blackberry Smartphones. But as your Device is a Work Phone so it may not allow you to add any BIS plan unless those IT policies are removed  from that particular devices .You can refer to this Knowledge base to remove an IT policy but first do a backup of your device  :
KB31291 :  How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software
KB18998 :  How to reset the BlackBerry smartphone to factory defaults
But mind it sometime it is very difficult to remove an IT policy from such devices in which those Policies are deeply coded , but you should try to see if that help.

  • Wifi for curve 8300?

Hi, I'm using an old blackberry curve 8300 since my mobile just broke down. It seems there is no wifi on it and I can't connect to my internet box.
Is it possible to dowload a program that would install it and if yes, could anyone recommend one for me?

    Hello,
    Refer to this please:
    http://worldwide.blackberry.com/blackberrycurve/8300/specifications.jsp
As you suspect, that model does not have WiFi. And what is missing is hardware (the WiFi radio inside the BB). As such, no amount of software can overcome that limitation.
    Good luck!
