Blackberry curve 8320 spinning hourglass forever end ever

I have a BB curve 8320, version 4.5.0.81
I have visited Tmobile, they replaced the SIMM card.  I have a 4gb memory card, yet my phone is constantly in the "spinning hour glass mode" and unable to use.  I thougth perhaps it was something to do with service in the Austin TX area, but it happened  the entire week I was in Colorado and California.  This makes the phone useless--what to do?
The only solution I have found is to remove and reinsert the battery but this is a  pain and soemtimes it does not work.  My phone is spinnign right now!
And yes, I do a quickpull on it nightly as suggested by T mobile.

Ahh sorry
correct keystrokes would be ALT+Right-Shift+DEL
and 2206859bytes translates into roughly 2.1MB which isn't alot and may be leading to the problem itself. I would recommend cleaning out some memory on your device, after deleting some of your unused files, cache/cookies, old memos, old texts, anduseless apps... pull your battery and re-check your memory. and see if that helps aswell.
Divide your Bytes by 1024 twice and thats how many MB (roughly) you have

  • How can I get Video Recording! on my Blackberry curve 8320 ???????????? HELP PLEASSEEEEE

Hi, Im a bet stressed out i just got the blackberry Curve 8320 from Tmobile and realized it has no Video recording however the person that sold it to me says they downloaded a program like a converter or something and they used to have video recording on it.  Can you please tell me how i can get video recording on mine Please. Thank you.

to use video you need an upgrade. The name is handheld device software OS. I believe you have 4.2. 4.5 is required.
You have to wait for TMobile to release the 4.5 OS.

I have may icons but not one for Video Camera.  I have one for Media and when I click on it there is an option for videos but can't figure out how to record from this location or perhaps this option is only for watching videos.  Thoughts/suggestions?  Also, how do I check software version?  Thanks SO much!

  • Blackberry Curve 8320 able to work in China?

    Hi everyone,
I am totally new to the Blackberry world and have no idea if this question is ridiculously stupid, stupid, moderately intelligent or ground-breaking (I doubt the latter).  Anyway, I was wondering if it were possible for a Blackberry Curve 8320 to actually work in China?  I plan to buy one from the US and use it in China and also later in Aus.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Benjamin

If you're using the GSM version of the blackberry you will be able to use it overseas. However, you will incur roaming charges and per message charges if I'm not mistaken. I have a supplier from Germany that travels to China and most of SE Asia a lot and he has no problems roaming. So long as the country you are going to has blackberry service (China does and so does Australia) you will be able to roam there. If you want to take advantage of cheaper local call rates, then you will need to unlock your phone so that you can insert a local SIM. Other thing to note is that some countries, I know here in Indonesia they do, have pre-paid blackberry service. I just don't know if that will work even with an unlocked phone because your PIN will still be locked to your service provider. Does anyone if the PIN can be easily transferred from one provider to another?

Instructions for using your BlackBerry as a Tethered Modem can be found here.
You should check with your Carrier before doing this as many charge very high fees for this use without a plan, and it's pretty expensive even with a plan.

  • Problems syncing Blackberry Curve 8320 with Outlook 2007

Hello all. I have a problem that seems to be somewhat common. I've done some searching through the messages but so far, no luck.
I just got my Curve 8320 and I installed Desktop Manager 4.5 that came with it. At work, the calendar I want to use is in Outlook 2007. It's a work calendar but this is not a work phone. Anyhow, it wouldn't work at all, but I changed one of the options on the phone (based on a comment here) from "Facebook" to the other option (my personal email, not associated with work or Outlook 2007, but that was my only other choice).
Then it began pulling records from Outlook to the phone, but approximately half way through it gives me this error under a window called "Intellisync": "The operation terminated unexpectedly."
I can't get it to go any further than this. Any ideas?

    Morning.
Let's try this.  Read through this thread.  You probably have a corrupt record somewhere in your calendar.

  • Please help with Blackberry Curve 8320

    Hi Everyone...
I am new to this forum and I am fascinated with my Blackberry and I just want to get it work to my standards...
1st. I have a 8gb MicroSDHC in the phone, I did format the card, but for some reason, the phone is only showing 3.3gb instead of 8gb... I am running on the latest Firmware which is 4.5 something...
2nd. I always get disconnected when I am using Windows Live Messenger... Is there any reason why? Does anyone know?
    Please advice...
    Thanks in advance...

According to the list below your device has to support 8 Gb card.
below there is a list with card size limits for a partucal OS versions.

This new removable drive represents your sd-card from your device.
Format this removable drive with FAT32 filesystem on your desktop computer.
When you'll connect your device to computer later - make sure that device keyboard is unlocked.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
If, by the highlighted section, you mean your BB cellular telephone number, there's nothing anyone here can do. That is 100% a carrier function...your new carrier must work with your old carrier to shift the number over. If they say that they cannot do it, then there is no one here that can provide you anything different. I do, however, recommend you get a better explanation from Boost...under the federal number portability rules (I'm not sure that's the correct nomenclature), you are supposed to be able to shift your mobile number from carrier to carrier, but I don't know if there are any restrictions on that. You should ask for more from Boost.
BTW -- there is no way for you to do it yourself...only the carriers can do it.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Spinning hourglass, Blackberry never finishes booting up

I searched the forums but none of the "spinning hourglass" problems seemed to match mine.
    I have a Blackberry Curve 8320. It's not even a month old.
I routinely plug it into the USB port of my desktop computer to charge it in the evenings. Just now - perhaps an hour ago - I noticed the screen blinking on and off. At the same time, the computer started making its "an item has been connected to the computer" beep. Every time the screen flashed, the computer would re-detect the Blackberry and make a "found new item" beep. I looked more closely at the BB and its screen was totally gray with a spinning hourglass in the middle. The red LED was on. Then everything would go dark (the screen and the LED) and the computer would beep twice, then the BB lit up again with the same hourglass and LED. Over and over again. Turning off, rebooting itself, rebooting for maybe 6 seconds, then turning off again.
This literally happened out of the blue while I was doing nothing BlackBerry related on the computer. Heck, the Desktop Manager wasn't even open. I was playing Everquest 2 if for some reason that matters.
Of course my first thought is to hard reboot - pop the battery, wait a few minutes, and put it back in. No luck, still endlessly rebooting.
Most solutions I've read seem to suggest that my BB operating system has gone corrupt, or that I simply "need a new phone." I guess I might be able to get a new phone, but I'd like to recover my data. But since the BB won't stay booted and connected to the computer, the "Backup" option never even lights up on the Desktop manager. It's a gray unclickable button.
I tried plugging the BB into the computer while its batter was out, but that doesn't seem to be helping. The Desktop Manager still can't find it.
Has anybody ever heard of this problem? Like I said, the most astonishing thing is that the BB was just sitting there in front of me when it stopped working. Literally nothing was being done with it - it was just charging.

Yes, I installed the tmobile handheld software onto my computer. Nothing looks any different in the Desktop manager, though.
What version of the desktop manager are you using? It seems like you have some buttons I don't.
Here is exactly what I do:
Remove battery from BB and plug it into the USB port. Several "dings" let me know something was detected (I actually count several connect - disconnect - connect dings before it finally settles down)
From the main menu of the desktop manager I can see that it's version 4.6. It says "Device Connected PIN: None" at the bottom of the screen. I can click on this and manually select the USB-PIN for my bb. But it still says "None" after I do that.
    I click on Application Loader.
I now have two choices: Add/Remove Applications or Update Applications. I think I was mistakingly clicking on Add/Remove earlier, because I do see an Advanced button under Update Applications.
So I go to Update Applications. There is nothing on the list - it says "No Software Update is Required for your Device."
There is the Advanced button! I click it and it brings me to an interface that looks almost exactly like the Add/Remove Applications one.
I see only one application on the list, a little shopping list app I downloaded last week. I select nothing and click Options.
Now a popup window appears. First it says Backup Options and has an option to backup my data automatically. Second it says Device Data Options and has 2 options which are grayed out and I can't click on them.  I can click OK or Cancel to get back to the previous screen.
After this I'm not sure what to do. I haven't checked the 2 boxes the instructions say to check (without telling me what those options are!).
    edit:
I can also see an "Options" button on the Update Applications page, but it's grayed out and I can't click it.

  • Unable to use Curve 8320 with new pay as you go orange sim card

Hey everyone. If someone knows the answer to my dilemma, please help.
My dad just gave me his old Blackberry Curve 8320 Smartphone. He's hardly ever used it and it's been in a draw for a long while, anyway, today I bought an Orange pay-as-you-go sim card for it and having checked the blackberry is all charged up, have now tried it.
No matter what option I pick on (wizard set-up, help, Call Log and all the others), it comes up with on the screen saying:
    My number
Then my dad's old number and a six digit number.
I don't know what to do and neither does my dad, so please help and thanks.

    Welcome to the forums j9wolf
    1. Was the phone previously with Orange? It may be locked to a specific carrier.
    2. Can you make calls with the phone even if it shows the wrong number on there?
Also take a look at this article for steps to use before buying/selling a used blackberry: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05099

  • Recovering Deleted Photos from Blackberry Cure 8320

I have a Blackberry Curve 8320 with T-Mobile and I had took a few photos with my camera which I have deleted and I would like to recover them back.  Note:  The photos I took were saved to the phone itself, I was not using a memory stick.  When I connect my phone to my computer as mass storage, no files are in it.  What do I do?

You can TRY to use the free PC program Zero Assumption Recovery, and let it "look" at the device memory and see if it can recover any deleted files. I don't think it will, but it is really your only hope to try.
And if it doesn't, then they are gone.

  • Ical not syncing with Blackberry Curve when using iCloud

I recently signed up to sync my contacts and iCal with iCloud. I manually sync my Contacts and iCal using hte BlackBerry DesktopSoftware. Since around the time I activated iCloud, I do not see any new events on my Blackberry Curve 8320. Contacts sync fine. Also, the BB DesktopSoftware shows a calendar that I had created on the MacBook using BusyCal but has since been deleted and no longer shows on iCal.
I have spent hours with the BB Tech support (on Mac) and they have told me that it is a known issue with the Sync Server software on 10.7.4 when also using iCloud. They say this has been fixed in MacOS 10.8.
Anyone else has seen this issue and is there any other solution without having to upgrade to 10.8? I am perfectly fine with NOT using iCloud if that is what I have to do. I just want the manual sync to BB to work with iCal.
Is there a way to "reset" the Sync Server software to its original state?
    Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Since I don't have any definitive confirmation from Apple or BlackBerry on whether Mountain Lion will fix this or not, I simply deleted iCloud from my Mac and now everything syncs properly.

  • Change of owner for curve 8320

I received a Blackberry Curve 8320 from my daughter when she decided to go to an I-phone. I have set up an account with Rogers Communications, and on-line I have change the ownership of the phone in Blackberry Protect website.
I cannot manage to get through to the Protect site with the phone (message keeps saying the sites not available) so I can't change the information on the phone. As a result I can't set up my e-mail account, because I keep getting a message that it can't connect to the site, even though I have successfully got the WiFi working.
