Blackberry Curve 8520 won't start

Hello
I have an issue with my blackberry . After upgrading my facebook application , and rebooted , once i see the home screen , i get an error , and the device reboots . I can't get to the options and hard reset because it doesn't let me . Is like a loop , restarts by itselfs , gets the error  reboots again . I can't use my phone . Its a shame to get my phone destroyed because of an update .
Is there a way to hard reset it without accessing it ? I have tried to remove the battery for a few seconds and plug it back in but doesn't work , same error , reboot .
Please someone help me .
kind regards
shak

shak, yes that would be my next try.
Connect to the PC and run the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
You should get a popup to update or repair or cancel.
Click on Update.
This may delete all your information off the BlackBerry, and may restore it. Hopefully you'll get a restore.
If not, you may be starting back with a totally fresh device. If you have a previous backup of the device, you can restore.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 Won't Lock! Help!

I recently purchased a new Blackberry Curve 8520, and it was working great, until a couple of days ago, when it starting not working.
Whenever I'd press the a* button to lock it like you're supposed to, it wouldn't lock.
I tried shutting it off and then turning it back on again, but it still won't lock.
It's really annoying, because I can't put it in my pocket without pocket-dialing someone from my contacts.
Any ideas on how to get it to lock again?

  • My Blackberry Curve 8520 won't connect to my Windows PC!

I have been having problems with my Blackberry Curve 8520 as it won't connect to the computer. I have switched on mass storage mode, all my pictures and such are saved to my memory card. I have installed the blackberry desktop manager and my PC still does not recognize my Blackberry. It just starts to charge and go on the clock face. My Blackberry is the V4,6.1.314..So, basically whenever I connect my Blackberry to my computer it just starts to charge!

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 won't turn on or charge

My blackberry curve 8520 will not turn on,there was a red light on for a minute! Took out my sim card, memory card & battery and tried to charge it then. It came up for literally one second a drained battery sign. Really don't want to send it away, any help would be great Thanks!

Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the charging cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

  • Blackberry Curve 9300 won't start

Hi, I was using my blackberry on low battery, listening to voice notes on blackberry messenger (another user was sending some series of voice messages, one after another), when my other phone rang I've pressed the pause button to answer my other device. When I came back to my device, I noticed it was totally dead. I assumed it ran out of battery, but after 3 hours plugged to the wall charger, I still have no sign of life from the phone, not even the led light turned on.
So I unplugged it and try to connect via USB to the notebook, no answer either.
Is there anything else I can do?
    Regards.

    Hi cacao,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
You may need to start a software reload without the battery inserted then reinsert the battery after the software reload has started. http://bbry.lv/k9pwuZ
If your PC is still unable to connect with the BlackBerry, try the following steps to reload your device software:
    1. Verify that your BlackBerry Device Software is installed on the computer. You can download it from your wireless provider's website in this list. http://bbry.lv/ad7CII
    2. Remove the battery from the BlackBerry. Do not re-insert it.
    3. Connect the BlackBerry to the computer with the USB cable.
    4. Navigate to the file path shown here for your PC OS. http://bbry.lv/nPyBiQ
    5. Open Loader.exe and follow the prompts.
    9. When you have clicked Finish and the application load starts, insert the battery into the BlackBerry smartphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 Won't turn on

    Hi all,
Yesterday my BB8520 froze and I pulled out battery and pull in again after i pull in the phone doesn’t wont to start it just blink my led red 1 long and after series of 4 short blinks.
I read a lot of forums and I tried everything like loader and etc. but the main problem is that my pc doesn’t recognize my bb. I already try with different cables and other pc but steel same story.  I put on wall charger to be charged all night but nothing change as well I pull out my battery more than 4 hours nothing change again it’s any possibility this phone to be putted in some kind of flash mode which will help to be recognized by my pc. And steel I don’t know does it charge my phone when is in this mode because I think that I have only 3 stripes when I pull out my battery.
    Many thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Blackberry curve 8520 won't connect to router/network

My children are unable to connect their Blackberrys to the home network with this new router(Thomson Technicolor 582?)  . With the previous router (585?) all they had to do was scan for available networks and then when ours appeared they put in the password.
But with this one when you scan and find the network and try to connect you get the message "this wireless router supports wi-fi protected setup. To connect using a PIN (which your Blackberry will generate), click Next". Then when you click Next you get an 8 number code. it doesn't give you the opportunity to put in the network password.
Please tell me how to connect the Blackberrys to our network. thanks

    Hi mumsgirl,
When you are connecting to your Wi-Fi® network using WPS with the PIN generated on the BlackBerry® smartphone, the PIN will need to be entered into your router. You should be able to access this by logging into the configuration page of your router.
    Hope this helps.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode
There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:
     http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:
KB05349How to enable, access, and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone
The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Curve 8520 won't turn on all the way, please help!

I have a blackberry curve 8520, i bought it last month sometime.
I woke up yesterday morning and the balckberry was off, and would not switch on after i pushed down the ON button. So I charged it for a while, and still, it wouldnt switch on. Then, i took it off charge, took out the battery put the battery back in and it rebooted. The loading bar went right to the end, and the logo of my service provider appeared. And that's when it stopped loading. All that will show is the logo, it wont turn off, unless i take the battery out again.
I had downloaded an app the night before it stopped working off appworld, could that have affected it? I tried to link it to my computer, but it wont let me remove or add applications.
I did take out the battery for hours, and the SD card. It still wiil only turn on until my service provider's logo.
PLEASE HELP! Any advice would be helpful.

    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

    Gracias!!!

Thank you for your advise, I really apreciate it, I wrote in spanish since I wasn't aware of the other site.
In this case I'd like to get help with my device since it self-restarted and then it won't reload the OS again, it stops on the black screen where the Blackberry logo is shown above the progress bar and when it gets to a 70% it won't move and I need to know if I can do something about it or if I must go to a service center in order to get the device fixed.
I already removed the battery, applied the soft reset and anything is working.
