Blackberry Curve 9320 keypad and trackpad not working

So I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 and I accidently dropped it down the toilet. Both the water damage stickers (on my battery and on the actual phone underneath the battery) are red. So I put my phone in a bowl of rice in my airing cupboard for around a day and a half to dry it out (I also tried drying it a little with my hair dryer). Anyway, I charged it overnight and when I took the battery out then put it back in, it started up and the screen was working! Of course I was really exited, thinking it would work, only to realise the trackpad and and all keys/buttons are unresponsive. Is there anything I could try to get them to work again? Or if I took it to a phone shop would they be able to do anything? :/

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 keyboard and trackpad stopped working suddenly!

This morning when I was texting on my blackberry I noticed when I was pressing the s button it would press the a button as well. Now for some reason, the a button, which is also the lock button stopped working. I switched my phone off and took out the battery, switched it back on and now it won't light up unless I am pressing all the keys repetitively for about a minute or two. Sometimes when I do get it to light up, it won't let me select anything. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Its definitely not water damaged and it's out of warranty (I just bought it a week ago from family believe it or not!) Thanks.

  • Macbook pro Late 2011 13.3 inch i7 keyboard and trackpad not working bluetooth showing a cross sign and no usb mouse is detected. Almost dead keyboard and mouse. Earlier same problem used to be solved by opening the lower cover and closing it.

My macbook pro 13.3 inch i7 late 2011 edition has previously encountered unresponsive trackpad and keyboard. To solve that, I used to open the back cover and then close it. It has been working fine since that. Yesterday, same thing happened, this time I noticed that bluetooth icon is showing a cross sign across it and keyboard and trackpad were unesponsive. After some time , everything worked fine and bluetooth sign was back to normal. Then , suddenly it went back to the problem. I shut it down by holding the power button. When I booted it again, I could not login because keyboard and trackpad were not working. I attached a HP mouse it didnt work. I opened the back cover disconnected the battery and then connected it again, didnt worked. Since then , I have tried many things and nothing has solved the problem.

    @sanjampet
As you suggested I reset the smc, in the first boot nothing worked. In the second boot, it all worked like a charm. I thought that my problem is resolved now. To test it, I shut it down properly. Next morning, I powered it on, all things i.e, keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth etc. worked and I thought that problem has been solved. When I was just going to visit apple forum to reply you,  the same problem reappeared. A sawtooth cross over bluetooth icon, keyboard not working, trackpad not working,no usb mouse working which worked well when it was fine. I reset smc so many times again and again but same problem continued. Isn't it a problem of the firmware?
Next time when it will work, I will update its firmware.
My macbook was bought in dec2011 so no warranty now.

  • Magic mouse and trackpad not working

All of a sudden my magic mouse and trackpad stopped working.
I tried everything, preferences, bluetooth config, but nothing works.
Sometimes in the mouse prefpane, I get the message that the mouse is connected, then after a few seconds  it shows disconnected.
In Bluetooth config I get the message that the mouse is connected but the wheel keeps spinning and then it says "connection failed. software configuration and bluetooth may be invalid or are not supported".
    Same for the trackpad.
My second mac is also seen, and "connected ?" , but when I try to open the connection it fails also.
System is lion 10.7.5. imac 3,6 Ghz corei5 from 2011.

Found out myself how to solve the problem.
Simply resetting the PRAM and everything was ok.
    Thanks anyway

  • Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working; Mac OSX Unexpectedly Quit?

Hey everyone... I think I may need to stop by the Apple store to figure this one out, but I just wanted to make sure if there was anything I could do on my own first.
So basically, on my MacBook Pro that I got nearly two years ago (late September of 2006) for the past month and a half has had problems. In the beginning, the mouse and keyboard would freeze up and just not work. Restarting the comp did nothing. Some times were worse than others (once it was frozen for 1.5 hours). Then it stopped, every now and then having a few freezes (sometimes when the keyboard froze but the trackpad was still good), but two days ago I had my comp not hooked up to an adapter. When the battery got low, the comp froze. I went to bed and closed the laptop, and the next day it was still frozen. I unfroze it, but then it happened again (I'm pretty sure the same situation... almost no battery)... and it is still frozen, even after multiple restarts.
Also, during the time when freezes weren't as bad, sometimes the keyboard would get stuck on one key, usually the volume up button (very annoying)... then I was told to restart the comp. When I came back, I was told that Mac OS X had unexpectedly quit.
Sorry that was a lot to read, but any help is really appreciated! Thanks!
Not sure if this is also important, but I did spill some water on the keyboard a very long time ago (late December '06)... it wouldn't take this long for that to cause the problem, would it?

Does booting up in [Safe Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455?viewlocale=en_US] help at all? This boot mode checks the disk on startup and disables non-apple start up items and certain kernel extensions.

  • MacBook keyboard and trackpad not working

    Hi,
I have had my MacBook for about a month and it has been great. However yeasterday the keyboard and trackpad stoped working. I have been abble to use it with a usb keyboard and mouse, but obviously this is not a permanent solution. There seems to be no connection between the computer and the mouse. The lights on caplock and numlock don't work and in System Preferences> Keyboard and Mouse there is no trackpad option. I assume an internal connection has come appart but I don't want to open it up as I am not perticularly experienced in these maters.
    Any feedback would be apreciated

OK, I have had the same problem. I had a look on these forums, but the best thing to do is call Apple Support. They told me to do the following:
    Unplug the mains adaptor
    Remove battery
LEAVE the machine for like 50 seconds.
HOLD Power button for at least 5 seconds.
    Install battery
    Attach power adaptor
Before turning the machine back on, hold down: Option Key (Alt. with the switch symbol) Control (Apple symbol with square thingy) P and R.
While holding these press the power button, KEEP holding them, and the machine will restart again, chiming again, KEEP holding and the machine will restart a third time: on the THIRD restart and the THIRD chime, release the keys, and the login screen should come up, and machine should be OK.
This is what worked for me.
Incidentally, last night the machine stopped recognising the keyboard and trackpad, but responded with external devices, but this morning, it wouldn't even start. This solved both issues, it is so far working fine.

  • Stuck at login, Keyboard and Trackpad not working.

I don't know what happened, but this morning, all of a sudden my keyboard and Trackpad stopped working. I have recently upgraded to Lion and ever since had some minor issues here and there, but this is something really new. I suspect the last update did something, but I'm not sure. Thanks to my friend, he let me use his Mac to post this. I'm totally puzzled about what to do. The keyboard works just fine prior to OS X load, I can tell this because when I hold the Option key the boot manger window comes up, but both keyboard and Trackpad stop working during the login phase. I'm confident that this is a software issue, I just don't know how to fix it

I have found, when this problem exactly occurs. In order to reproduce this problem, click on Apple icon and then Restart, untick Reopen windows when logging back in. After system is restarted the keyboard and trackpad will not work, and the only way to solve this is to manually restart your Mac, by holding down the power button.

Hi, I'd recommend checking to make sure that you still have a Blackberry Data Plan by contacting your Network Provider (i.e O2)

  • Curve 8520- email and bbm not working

    Hello,
Over a month ago i started having this problem with my blackberry curve. My bbm wont send or receive messages, at all. So I deleted my only contact which was hubby, and tried to add him again, but the request is just pending and he hasnt gotten a message to accept me at all. Soon after my emails stopped working as well as facebook. I could not send nor receive emails. I might also mention that I have a wi-fi conection working, i can use the browser and all, but the wi=fi symbol doesnt light up, it just stays dull.
So i deleted the email account I had on the phone and took it into the vodafone shop I got it in. I received the phone back this week with a latter telling me they could not find these problems and that the phone had been updated and was fixed.
It was not. So i pluged it into my laptop, tried updating and all that, also brought £10 credit incase that was the problem. Still nothing. Emails, BBM and facebook are things I use often on my phone and I would love it if anyone had any suggestions, maybe I have my settings wrong?

Hello Amy and welcome to the Community!
Its pretty hard to understand how you lost the Blackberry Service. Kindly contact your Carrier and check if your BIS is active. You should also check if your data coverage is ON and the wireless service indicator appear as GPRS/EDGE. These indicators appear in uppercase if the BIS is up and goes back to lowercase when you lose the service.

  • My 2012 Macbook Air Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working

This all started last weekend when I installed the latest updates from Apple. The reboot and startup went fine, and nothing happened for a couple of hours, but while I was reading on the Kindle app (fullscreen), the trackpad stopped working. The keyboard stopped working too. Only the power button worked.
Since I received both a Growler and Notification Alert while this was going on, I assume everything else in the background is working just fine, but the keyboard and trackpad simply are not working. I rebooted the machine and it was working just fine. I dismissed it as a one-off occurance.
However the same issue occured a few hours ago, this time with the Safari screen full-screen. Since I was home, I've added a regular USB keyboard and mice, and that's how I'm typing this out on my Macbook Air at the moment
Like I said, this all started after I installed the OSX 10.8.4 updates onto my machine. I've never had a prior issue with the keyboard and trackbar until yesterday.
    Any advice?

  • Macbook Pro Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working

few days ago, my Macbook Pro keyboard and trackpad started to act very oddly.
Basically, the keyboard doesn't work at all. I press down the keys, and all I get is that error message sound. The volume and display brightness keys seem to work, but almost all of the others just won't type anything. it-s like any key command or alt would stay pressed so when i click any key its trying to perform other function instead of just typing the letter. that-s probably the reason why the trackpad is also being very odd. When I first turn on the laptop, it seems to work as normal. I can click on an application, and it opens. But about one minute after the laptop first starts, it's like anywhere I click on the trackpad is a right-click. To open an application, I click like I normally would but instead of opening, a menu pops up as if I right-clicked. This happens in Finder and everywhere else that I've tested (for instance, I can't drag any Finder windows to different positions on the screen, because it acts as if I right-clicked instead of left-clicked), no matter whether I tap or click the trackpad.
I have reset my permissions, but that didn't fix anything. I verified the hard drive and it said there were no problems. A big issue is that I can't do anything that requires me to type in my password, since I can't type anything. I tried to reset the PRAM, but I don't think that it even registered me pressing the Command-Option-P-R keys when I booted up, so i just removed the battery for a while, i am not sure that did anything at all.
i tried to reinstall the os, i had mavericks and i installed a fresh mountain lion but the problem persists. i recently installed virtualbox and the keyboard seems to work right as long as i do not press any of the following keys command, alt, shift, etc.. if i press any of them same thing happens. i found that if i connect a usb keyboard everything works, but when i use the inbuilt keyboard the problem is back and a i have to connect disconnect the usb keyboard to be able to type or use the trackpad normally.
    any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Macbook Pro Keyboard and trackpad not working - SOLUTION!

Recently my Macbook Pro of 3 years suddenly stopped working -- or at least the keyboard and track pad did. I plugged in an external USB mouse and and keyboard and was able to use it but it was of course cumbersome. Thinking it was a software issue like the one that used to happen to my old G4 desktop I reinstalled the OS but this did nothing but cause a lot of extra work. After doing a lot of hours of research I finally began reading that people were finding a solution by replacing their "topcase" (the topcase includes the keyboard and trackpad). This is a $300 fix and not knowing if it would even work I didn't want to try it and be wrong!
To make a short story longer I found a website (which I have no affiliation with) called www.powerbookmedic.com who sold the cable only so you could do your own fix for about $35. They provide basic video but not an exact step by step to replace the actual cable -- just how to get to it.
I will warn you that the components are tiny and I recommend buying the Mac tool kit and pry tool to help you through it. Even so I broke a small component but luckily it still works. In the end I now have a working Macbook Pro and some extra tools for the next time. I stripped a screw so had to spend another $15 and buying anti-static tape, although not necessary might be a good idea. Total cost to me was about $60 with tools and everything.
It is not very hard to do the replacement but it is tricky because the components are so fragile and I did not have a video to properly describe how to open up connectors -- hence why I broke one. But if you are patient, savy and need to save a few bucks it can be done.
PS- I have rebuilt desktop Mac's before but this was the first time I ever opened up a laptop. I used the video's provided at http://www.powerbookmedic.com/ as much as allowed.
    Good luck!
