Blackberry Curve-Problem with MSN Instant Messenger HELP!

I have the MSN Instant Messenger downloaded to my blackberry. I can send messages out and the recepient receives it but I'm not getting their responses back. Is anyone having this problem and if so, did you find a solution? I had contacted my service provider and wiped my phone and reinstalled the application but it still doesn't work. The weird thing is that it was working but all of a sudden stopped.

yes, this has been an ongoing issue since about october of 2008. however i can't get anyone to help with it . vendor or rim

Router Possibly Causing MSN Instant Messenger Disconnect

I finally got my router working but not it seems that it is somehow causing my MSN Instant Messenger to continually disconnect. Has anybody run up against the same problem and what do I need to configure to make it keep working?

try changing the MTU settings on the router to 1400 .. check whether it helps ... i would also like to know whether all the other applications run fine apart from the msn messenger ...

Problems with MSN Messenger - need quick help

I posted yesterday that I was having some trouble with my Ameritrade stock trading account, it was a java issue and they had me delete the cache in java and my Ameritrade worked again.
Now this morning I'm having problems with MS messenger which I use all day long for my job. When I try to sign in it keeps telling me it can't sign me in and I must not be connected to the internet. Which I am.
Its got some thing to do with my airport wireless thingy. Is there some way to "open" that up. When I unplug it and then replug it back in I can sign in to MS messenger for about a minute but then it somehow blocks it.
It keeps me on the internet but I get a message that I an not connected to .NET Messenger service. It is blocking me on my laptop PC now too. And it behaves the same way. After unplugging the airport I get a quick window where I can sign in but after that it blocks that .NET messenger service.
Is there some way I can open up the airport so I can get on the NET messenger service. Skype and iChat work but I can't use either for my job.
Does anyone have any suggestions (I'm begging here cuz i start work at 9:30 am and I need it working by then!).

Wow this is a mess, I want to add that again i'm sure its the airport extreme somehow. However on my PC laptop I can sign into messenger with an older version of it but when i try the new LIVE messenger it won't let me sign in.
The iMac version forces you to use the latest version so I can't use an older "non live" version to sign in with. I am praying someone can help me figure out what is wrong.

Nokia 6133 Msn Instant Messenger Problems

I have a Nokia 6133 and it comes with Instant Messenger. I use MSN Messenger. when I try to login in on MSN Messenger it connects and loads everything then the done screen comes up and just freezes there. other people can see that im online but i cannot see my contacts or anything. just that one screen that hangs on the done screen. I also get notifications of a new instant message but I cannot see them because it always hangs on the "Done" screen.
any reaons why?

Just unlocked Blackberry Curve 8520 with online code, now cannot make calls or send sms! PLEASE HELP!

I unlocked my phone about an hour ago using a legitimate unlock code from unlocks.co.uk. I entered the code and it seemed to work fine and now my network shows up as Vodafone uk (I have unlocked it from T-Mobile)
It looks as though it is unlocked and I have checked the connections - I have signal and it says I am connected to the vodafone network, however, I cannot make any calls or send texts! If I try to call a number I get the call failed signed and the failed call dial tone. I tried to send a text but it didn't work - the text now has a red X and says 'unidentified subscriber'. I know this is a fault with my phone as the people I have tried to text and call have no problems with their phones/networks.
Please somebody help me! I have no idea what to do! I contacted the unlocking company and they say if I'm sure the sim I'm inserting is active (which I am) then it is likely my phone has been blacklisted, but I dont think it has. I bought it as a pay as you go handset from Argos just a week ago and it's been working fine until then.
I put my old t-mobile sim back in and it seems to work - does this mean it hasn't been unlocked successfully or not?

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. I'm having problems with my ringtones please help

I have tried everything to fix my BB Curve problem even down to the battery.   I have custom ringtones set for my husband and other family members. So whenever they call or text I know who it is.. Now my issue is that if I get a text from my son his ringtone will sound than if I get a standard text my son's ringtone will go again. Not the default for just regular ringtones. I took off my facebook becuase someone said that could be a problem. Verizon sent me a new phone and I entered everything manually so if there was something wrong I wouldn't transfer the problem to the new phone. It's not fixed. If someone could please help me. I'm getting ready to turn my BB off completely it's that frustrating. Thank you for any help.

It sounds as if you are saying that any "non-specific" SMS sender receives that text tone of the last one you have set a personal tone for who has texted you?
I don't know. I can only say that if you use those instructon in the guideline, they work.

Questions about Blackberry Curve 8330... Please help. NEW USER

I have recentley purchased the blackberry 8330 (Verizon). I seem to be having a lot of difficulty with the browser. For some reason I cannot access many websites or click on links from my email. the message that is coming up reads, "A problem occurred while trying to render the page." I don't understand this and cannot seem to find help anywhere on the net. I was also wondering if anyone has used to the curve with missingsync. I just purchased it last night and I am also have difficulty getting my blackberry to sync with my mac. Sorry for all the questions, I am very new to the Blackberry device. Any help would be greatley appreciated. THANKS!!

Check whetehr your browser supports java or not. Perform the following -
Go to Internet Browser -> click menu then Options -> Browser Configuration -> check Support JavaScript and Allow JavaScript popups.

Having problems with USB cable, please HELP!

While trying to download aim/aol I was having problems with my USB cable and my phone being connected, it was like they were showing they were conneted but when I tried to download aim it said no drivers were recognised. My phone was giving me the option when the USB cable was plugged in asking me if I wantd to do something to do with the media mass storage.
Anyway, once the drivers were downloaded to my comp and I plugged USB cable into my phone and comp i'm no longer being asked on my blackberry about the mass storage, my phone doesn't seem to be recogniaing tht it's linked up to my computer at all even though it's showing the little plug thing in my blackberry and coming up on the computer.
Is there anybody out there who can help me?!

Hey, guys! I am new to this forum and need to find some answer for my Blackberry phone.
I have a Blackberry curve that seems to have some problems. Every time I attempt to plunge it on my computer, a card error would pop out and asks to format it for using. But, I still have some photos and videos that have not been backed up timely. Are they still recoverable? Do I have to format it? Do you know any way for me to firstly copy off all these photos and videos?

1). Do not format your Blackberry phone before you’ve recovered all your stored photos and videos back. In your case, the formatting process may erase everything on your phone memory card and make your data gone permanently.
2). Never save anything new on this phone memory card in case that any new file would rewrite your original data.
3). Plunge this phone to your computer and download professional phone memory card data recovery program to get back all your lost data back.
In fact, as I know, there are many similar data recovery tools that can help rescue inaccessible data back form a “Not Formatted” phone memory card, especially some phone memory card data recovery freeware, such as 4 Card Recovery Freeware, Recuva and TestDisk, etc.
4). Format this phone after the successful data recovery process to see whether the card problem can be fixed.
5). Never forget to back up everything important at least on two cards or drives in the future.

Problems with all apps, pls help fast!

Hi, I have BlackBerry storm 2 9520 and I have a problems with applications. All applications that connect on internet have problems(for example: whatsapp, blackberry app world, facebook..), when i restart my device they work 2 days and then again they don't work. Applications that don't need internet connection work fine, i download them and i can use them in any time..HELP

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should talk to your mobile service provider for more detailed and formal support.

How to set up facebook chat on my blackberry curve 8520 with tmobile

Hi all,
I am new to the chat forum. I have just bought a new blackberry Curve 8520 mobile. I am on pay as you go with tmobile. I am trying to set up a facebook chat on the mobile phone with no success. Perhaps I need someone to help me with the basic instructions. I have set my email and am receiving them.
Can anybody help, please.

the "Facebook for BlackBerry" application does not support facebook chat.
but other applications like IM+ do support facebook chat.

Blackberry Curve Drawbacks with Macbook Pros?

I am considering getting a Blackberry Curve(again). I got one about a week ago but wasn't able to use the Blackberry as a tethered device(basically use the internet on my macbook pro laptop through the blackberry. It would sign on for about 45 seconds then disconnect
I've been reading and seeing different programs you guys have mentioned. I was wondering if anybody has experience with a Blackberry Curve and a Macbook Pro and have some advice. Didn't know if I needed one of these programs to sync the connection between the two better.
I am going to get the unlimited tethered plan which gives me unlimited internet and the ability to connect my laptop to the internet through the Blackberry Curve Modem device.

I tried this attempt thinking that yeah the airport needed to be turned off because it could've been causing interference but that didn't solve the issue either.
I know that when I talked to the support line at Cingular they looked it up(and also e-mailed me the link) showing that the Cingular Blackberry 8300 was only compatible with Windows vista, xp and so on, did not say Mac OSX but I didn't know if there were applications out there for Mac that could trick the phone or whatever into syncing up and allowing the internet. Does anybody have a 8300 and are able to get internet on their Macbook Pro? Thanks Rich though for the help. If ya got any other ideas definitely let me know, and Verizon may be a bit different then Cingular, not sure.

BlackBerry Q10 problems with contacts after OS .10.3 Upgrade

I need urgent help. I have serious problems with BBQ10 aftre 10.3 update.After upgrading to the new OS, my contacts became all messed up.
1 I now have doubles, triples, and quadruples of the same names in my contacts.
2. Many names and/or numbers have vanished.

Due to the number of problems with "upgrading" to this OS level, I suggest you try the very clean and very forceful AutoLoader OS Reload:

Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)
