Blackberry Curve - white screen

Hi
I have a Blackberry curve, if not mistake the 9800.
i was charging it and all of a sudden the i see that the screen had gone white.
I removed the battery put it back the screen still remains white.
since it has a password i cannot unlock it.
whats the best option to get it back as normal.
It has been used very safely , no problems except for battery draining out fast. Other  than that it looks like a new piece, coz i take good care.
Guide me how i could get it back working
Thanks

Hello jpkurian
White Screen may appear because of a hardware issue or a poor Battery , As you already mentioned that your Battery drains out  very fast which is a symptom of a poor battery . Can you arrange a Good fully charged BB battery to test it on your device , it will reveal if the problem is within your device or the battery itself.
9800 is a Torch model !

hello my blackberry curve 8520 screen has gone white and funny  circle icon has come up with reload softwear 552 at bottum of screen what do i do as it wont do anything ive tried battry pull and turned back on and it still brings that up
    Solved!

It seems that you have not installed the correct blackberry software for your device, or might be select the incorrect carrier for your blackberry handheld. You need to download the correct blackberry software with your service provider and before installing the software, disconnect your BB device from the computer and then install it with proper administrative privilege.
After installing the software on your computer, make sure to hard boot your blackberry handheld before connecting it to your computer. If the same problem persists, then use JVM Loder to complete wipe your blackberry device memory then connect with the desktop manager and install the software.
    Good luck..!!!

  • BB Curve White Screen Problem

    Hi,
My BB curve 8900 cannot boot up. There is a white screen and clock runs forever. I downloaded an application from Worldmate yesterday, and the handset worked fine. All of sudden, it showed "Cleaning Memory" and ever since it has been showing a white screen with the clock. I even tried removing the battery, the memory card, etc to re-boot, but its not working.
I use the Blackberry Desktop Manager ver 5.0.1.
    Please help.
    Nav.

Sorry for the late reply my BB had water damage so it was in rice for the past 48 hours and outside work I had no connectivity. Did you put in the device password that is being requested? Also have you done any software upgrade or not?
If you have not done an OS upgrade you need to download the latest OS version for your carrier. If you changed carriers there is another way to load software without using desktop manager or removing the vendor .xml file. First thing first, there is a post with a solution as well that you might need to look at before proceeding:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Smartphone/Upgrade-OS-on-phone/m-p/39417#M...
Is the computer managing to read the device? If so you might need to by-pass the desktop manager and load software directly.

  • 8520 Curve White Screen

My daughter's 4 months old 8520 Curve went to white screen.
    Keys work.
    Red Light flashes.
    Battery Pull
    No difference.
Desktop Manager recognised BB including identifying the the PIN and a full back up run.
Ran a complete wipe and OS reload from Desktop Manager.
    No Difference.
    Ran:
"If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black or white screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
    No difference.
So unless you can suggest an alternative I am going with a hardware defect and a repair/refund??

  • Blackberry 8530 white screen

My phone is at a constant white screen whenever it tries to power on, whether it be plugging it in, plugging into a computer, or just turning on the power. I tried doing what it says to in this thread ( http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Curve/Curve-8520-stuck-on-a-quot-white-screen-of-d... ) but it doesn't work, because my laptop  recognizes my phone as a blackberry. What can I do? D:

Did a battery pull fix your issue? Temporarily
Apps installed and their version if possible. (Go to Settings, then Options, then applications):

My Question is if anyone can help me with the White Screen issue I am having, I took my phone into a shop to get it repaired the water indication on the screen had changed to pink and they said that they will clean the device and get rid of any water damage, before I had it cleaned it would go white screen very often but now it has been cleaned it I can use the phone it only seems to do it when I attempt to make a call, I have to perform a battery pull to get rid of the solid white screen, then when I restart the phone it lets me make a call. The staff in the shop I took it to said the screen seems to be working perfectly fine and that if the clean does not fix it then I will have to have the screen replaced which I dont see will help if it is working fine.
So I would really appreciate any help with this problem
    Thanks

    Hi Noncommercial,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
To rule out any possible software issue that may be causing the white screen to occur on your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9300 smartphone, please try to back up your data and perform a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software. For further instructions, please see the following KB articles.
For Windows®: "How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows" http://bbry.lv/GI9beY
For Mac: "Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer" http://bbry.lv/J0UN1U
Please test to make sure the issue has been resolved before restoring any data from your backup file.
    Hope this helps.

  • Blackberry 8320-white screen--HELP

Daughter dropped her phone from a distance of less than a foot to the ground.  Her screen is now all white.  Can receive a call but cannot do anything else due to screen being all white and not visible to anything.  Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it.  I have tried taking battery out, sim card out, charging it, repeating the above steps.  It seems odd that the TMOBILE employees have no idea what it is and that I cannot find a place that will fix it.  I beg you experts to solve my problem.  This small drop should not have caused me all this!!!
    Thanks for your help

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Sorry to hear about the screen. If you have insurance with the carrier, I'd have it replaced.
If not you can either send it out or replace the display yourself.
I have left a link to a repair video as well as a reputable place for repair.
It's up to you, personally I would send it for repair.
    Thanks

  • Blackberry has white screen

anyone know my blackberry screen is white and a soloution to fix it please??
i fell off my bike and landed on the side which my blackberry was and now the screen is just white :/

    Hi
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem. If not then more information will be needed before making suggestions. Please provide as much as you are able of the the following
    Blackberry Model.
    Carrier Name.
Do you have a Data Plan?
Operating System Version go to Menu > Options > About - it looks like v5.0.0.681
Memory for Device and SD Card Options > Memory
    Any error statement or code.
The Exact nature of problem - the more info the better.
When this started and whether it started just after an update or new App download and which App/s theme/s download.

  • Blackberry curve 9220 screen light blinks

i was just typing a msg and suddenly screen turns out to white, then after few seconds it started blinking. I dont know what hapens. Sometimes it works fine. but sometimes not.
    i had tried
    1. Wiping data
    2. battery pull

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • 8520 curve white screen? HELP

can anyone help? I had my phone in my pocket & it stopped working - well the screen was all white with some coloured lines down the side - as i had not damaged it myself i sent it away to tesco as it is only about 7 months old.  They informed me they couldn't do anything as it had suffered physical damage (must b very sensitive is all i can say!!) they said when i phoned it was the LCD so i opened my phone up - to discovered they hadn't even done that - the caps were still on the screws!!! but anyway i ordered a new LCD but the screen is still white as before - any1 got any other suggestions on what i could try? it is a curve 8520.

    Hey,
I have the exact same problem. So annoying!!! I was wondering if you found out how to solve the problem?
and also I tried the link you provided and that didn't work either

  • Blackberry curve 8520 screen problems???

hi, i have a 5 month old blackberry that has not had any water damage (i checked the white stickers)
a month ago small green and black vertical lines started to appear on my screen, but since then they have gotten worse, its almost like a color 'veil' in that section of the screen as things still show up behind it, it is now doing the same thing in a diferent place and im worried that eventually i wont be able to see whats on my screen
    is the screen under guarantee??
will this problem still fall under guarantee??
    thanks

I'd check with the carrier about this.  I don't think a battery pull will help, but you can try.
Also you can check with RIM as another option:

  • Blackberry Curve Flickering Screen

    Hi
My curve has developed a screen flicker, not a screen refresh type flicker but one that is like, screen on, screen off for 1 sec, screen back on, screen off for half second, screen on etc etc.
Really annoying and have now switched to other phone until i can get this one fixed. I guess its a hardware issue but has anyone else any knowledge of what this is and how to fix.
I read somewhere that it may be a display ribbon that needs replacing but am really clueless on this one.
    Lee

    Hi Leevis
    Welcome to the Community
It may be a hardware issue but have you tried Updating or fresh reloading of your Device software. If not I would suggest that. If that fails I would even reset it to factory setting to rule out any Conflicts with third party Application.
