Blackberry Data Back Up

Dear Friends,
Can someone help me with this issue when ever am trying to backup my data to my Laptop Pc through Blackberry Destop software it keeps hanging when it get to this stage (Backing Up Smart Card Option 1of1 Record)
Thank You
Afolarin o

In the Desktop Software, change the full backup to Selective Backup and check everything except the Smart Card Option.
You can also try to clear just that database using Desktop Software, as well. Then try a full backup again.

  • Viewing backed up Blackberry data

This is going to be areally stupid question I know. BUT! I have backed up FULL from my blackberry bold 9700 to my laptop, using the blackberry desktop software. It tells me it has backed it up to Documents\Blackberry etc etc. The reason for doing this is that my 16 month old 9700 has just developed what I understand to be the 'White screen of death' and providing blackberry the company don't try and tell me that I've dropped the phone (which I most certainly haven't) I am hopeful of getting it sorted under the 2 year guarantee that the guy from 02 has just informed me that I have. (I haven't taken out insurance). The question I have is that I had a number of items in the memo section of my blackberry that I would quite like to retrieve but they don't seem to have backed up! bearing in mind that I can't see anything at all on my 9700 screen (apart from white of course) is there anyway I can get at or back up my 'Memo notes'???????

  • Problems with the O2 blackberry data package on my Curve 3G.

I have already informed O2 about this but they claim that I should be used the blackberry support services, but nothing there helps me!
I got my Blackberry Curve 3G on September 9th this year and I put on the Blackberry Data Package bolt-on onto my phone on September 16th. I then received a text to say they've taken £5 from my credit and it will be up and running in the next 24 hours. Its now September 19th and my BBM is not working at all and I am extremely upset with the services and behaviour I have received from both O2 and Blackberry.
Is there any way you can help? If this fails, I shall be forced to go back to the shop from where I got my Blackberry from and ask for their help.
    Many thanks, Jade.

  • Software update data back up problems

    Hi,
So I've just got around to updating my 9360 to what I think is 7.1
After I deleted the unused languages and created space for it, the phone started a data back up But when it got to 15% it just stopped and didn't move, I left it all evening (so about 4hrs) and still nothing, so I turned it off and took the battery out. I put it back in again and the back up started again, but this time it got to 8% and stopped , I left it over night but nothing.
Any ideas? Because the phone is rendered useless until this is finished. Oh and also, I've tried plugging it in to mycomputer to updatethrough the software but obviously it won't connect
    Thanks, Tim

There are two methods of recovery for you to try:
    One:
Open Blackberry Desktop Software & Connect your device with PC using USB cable, without inserting battery.
You will get three option Retry, Update Or Cancel, then click on update.
Once it is to the stage of the update "initializing handheld", then insert battery.
If this does not work, and you remain stuck on the backing up the Social Feeds database, go to the second method below.
    Secondly:
Start your BlackBerry in Safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Modehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow your handheld to connect. If you are prompted to upgrade, cancel the upgrade for later.
IF you cannot connect or your Desktop Software does not recognize your device while in Safe Mode, please follow the directions here to force the detect:  Article ID: KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
Go to Device > delete > SELECT DATA > select to delete both the Social Feeds and Smart Card databases, and follow the remaining prompts to complete it.
Now, you can return and click to upgrade the device through the Desktop Manager, or reboot the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue the over the air upgrade.

  • I cannot restore back my data back to my Q5 ! PELASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im in the middle of a huge problem where i have become desperate and lost, here is how it all began, first of all i received an alert that a new update is available for my Q5 which is 10.2.1537 when i started to downloanding it i received an error that built in memory is full WHICH IS NOT! secondly i thought in order to get the latest update i had resolve this memory error by WIPING OFF the mobile so i did a FULL DATA BACK UP while it was running OS 10.2.0.424 , and then DID the full WIPE, but it took around 6 HOURS!!!! after the wiping process i tried to download the new update 10.2.1537 and it was successful, i connected my q5 to my laptop and opened blackberry link (latest version) selected the BACK UP FILE which i made before the wipe , BUT IT WAS UNSUCCESSFULL ( the alert message was this : this dats file isn't compatible with the version of the device software that you are currently running, update your device software and try again) WHICH i did downgrade to the previous version OS 10.2.0.424 and tried to restore the data file, but it WOULDNT WORK! please HELP im in desperate need for your help ive got my whole life on this mobile and right now im isolated!
the following day what happened is, i did try what was mentioned in the link BlackBerry 10. Restoring Backup after a firmware downgrade. i did exactly the same but it FAILED, and i got this error (there could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the device is turned on and connected) and then device restarts afterwards, hence, i started to get this error message after i updated to latest OS 10.2.1.539 but when i tried to restore the back up when i was running the previous OS 10.2.0.424 the error message was ( the back up isn't compatible etc... ) this is really confusing, my device is working just fine and its properly connected with no problems, ive been searching and looking for solutions all over the internet but no luck , im really exhausted ive been working on my q5 for almost 26 hours, im just praying to get this fixed.

Same Here..after upgrade won't restore, I did backup with blackberry link and it was a successfull backup..I brought it to the service centre and ask the to restore it for me with no success as well..they even downgrade my phone to 10.1...no success..please find the bug on your OS or BlackBerry LINK to fix this..my data is very important to me..BTW BlackBerry protect also doesn't do a proper backup..only my previous BlackBerry (OS 7) backup is available for restore..this is the second time I lose data to BlackBerry (before was in my Dakota)...

  • Can't set up BBM - "no blackberry data"

Sorry, it didn't seem to have a spot for any details. I got a new Leap yesterday, having had a Z10 before that. They did the conversion of all my data in the Bell Store using my blackberry ID. Everything seems to have gone fine, except when I got home I tried to set up my BBM, and as soon as I hit setup, I get the message: No blackberry data. BBM is unable to connect to the server. Please try again later. I have done previous suggestion posts, and retorted the phone, I have turned it to airplane mode and waited then turned it back on,etc. I have tried it over our WIFI and over my cellular network. It worked completely fine on my Z10. I also can't connect to Blackbery Protect, exact same error message. Please help, any assistance would be greatly appreciated! It should be noted that I do NOT have the blackberry symbol in the top right corner, by the carrier strength.

FYI - just thought I'd post the ultimate resolution on this issue.I know when it happened to me, I searched this forum (and the crackbery forum) and could never find an actual solution and if you read this thread, it seems as if it was also unresolved. However, it ulimately resolved itself - about 24 hours later, I received texts from Bell (my carrier) that they had changed my plan/contract, and then suddenly the "blackberry" dots appeared on the top screen beside the Wifi signal, and suddenly I was able to set up BBM and Blackberry Protect.So....it appears that while my device was up and running, and I did have service (cellular, without wifi could still access the browser, get emails, etc.), my carrier hadn't officially "transferred" over my phone ownership I guess, and once they processed it, all worked! So, if it hpapens to others....be patient, and/or call/confirm with your carrier that they had indeed transferred it over.  I thought that was covered since I did it all in the carrier's actual store, but I guess they still had to do something behind the scenes.

That would leave me to believe you have no calendar data on your device.
Go back to your home PC and Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced and select ONLY your calendar database to restore to your device.
    1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.

  • TS3988 My wife bought an iPad Air and synced contact from our PC (Outlook), now all our contacts in Outlook have gone and we have to go to iCloud to get them, and even then they are a bit jumbled. How do I get my data back onto my PC?

My wife bought an iPad Air and synced contact from our PC (Outlook), now all our contacts in Outlook have gone and we have to go to iCloud to get them, and even then they are a bit jumbled. How do I get my data back onto my PC?

If you can see the iCloud contacts in Outlook, you can copy them back to your PC by selecting all the contacts (click one, then press Control-A), then drag and drop the selected contacts to Contacts under My Contacts on the left sidebar of Outlook.
If you want to copy your calendar back to Outlook, select your iCloud calendar on the left sidebar of Outlook, switch to the list view (select View from the ribbon, then click Change View>List), select your events (click on a single event, then press Control-A), then control drag and drop them to Calendar under My Calendars on the left sidebar.
Then you can sign out of iCloud on the iCloud control panel and your local copies will still be there.  If you want to add your iCloud email account back to iCloud, you can do this with these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864.

  • If someone has wiped my ipad and changed passwords on icloud how do i get my data back

if someone has wiped my ipad and changed passwords on icloud how do i get my data back? please could someone help me out thanks

How did they wipe it?  By using Find My iPad and performing a wipe?  If so, that means they have your icloud ID and password, not a good thing.
You could try connecting it to iTunes and performing a restore from iCloud.  But if they changed password, then you are out of the loop.  How did they get your password in order to change it?

  • IOS 8 upgrade gone wrong - how do I get my data back?

I was upgrading my iPhone 5S to iOS 8 today using iTunes. Halfway through iTunes through an "unknown" error and recovered my phone back to the factory settings. I don't have any backups on either iTunes or iCloud (don't ask why).
I did a search for data recovery tools and it seems there are many out there that claim can get data back. Has anyone used any of these data recovery tools. Can they recover data in this situation?
I have lots of contacts, Messages and Notes which are gone forever if I can't recover them.
    Many thanks.

If your phone is back to factory condition, there's nothing to recover.
I won't ask why you didn't make a backup before upgrading as you requested.  Doesn't mean I'm not baffled.

  • I backed up my ipod. I then updated it but all of my data is still gone. How do I get my data back??

I backed up my ipod. I then updated it but all of my data is still gone. How do I get my data back??

Were the app in your iTunes library? If not the app data in the backup has no place to go. Redownload the apps in your iTunes libaray
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    and then restore from backup.

Otherwise, try restoring from backup again.
If still problem that means the backup does not include the data.

I just got to school after getting a new screen put on my 13in macbook pro. when i opend up my macbook there was only a apple simble and the loading sing with a bar at the botton it took fovere to load, one it loaded and opend up there was a few options to pic from saying i could get all my datata back, i got confused and called the tec support where they wanted me to spend 90$ to back up my data, i feel as if they fixed my screen my data should be there when i go on it. I am a broke colage studend and need to get my work done. To sum it all up How do i get all my data back that happend to get lost while my screen was being repaird at the apple store?

Apple has a 90 warranty warranty on all of their repairs.  You should take your computer back to the repair shop.  Or call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775.  Wait for a human to come on the line and ask politely and firmly that you want to be transferred over to the Customer Relations department.  Tell them your issue.

  • How do i get my data back if i restored my ipod touch

how do i get my data back if i restored my ipod touch

The backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.
    Redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
and then restore from the same backup again.

  • I deleted a calendar tab. How can I get the data back?

I accidently deleted the calendar tab of my wife and deleted all her apoointments on her iphone and the iMac. I am in ****. How can I get the calendar data back=?

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

If i restore the phone how can i get my data back and how can i check when i last backed up my phone

If you have been syncing regularly as the iphone is designed, then you can sync the data back.
Regardless you will have to restore the iphone.
