Blackberry Desktop software 6 - Deleting previously connected devices
In blackberry desktop software 6, when you click on the device menu, it lists all prevously connected devices.
Yesterday someone connected their device to my computer.
How can i delete that device listing from the list.
I found that the folder "My Documents\BlackBerry\Backup" contains the backup files in the format: name_of_device_in_bb_desktop.pid.
I just deleted the one file that I did not need.

Blackberry desktop software doesn't connect with address book
blackberry desktop software version 2.4.0 doesn't connect with address book on a mac os lion (10.7.4). Sync contacts not possible. Use a BB 9500 v5.0.0.841 (plateform 4.2.0.380). Any solution ?
You have both Desktop Software and Link set to open when a device is connected to your Mac. You need to go to the settings of Desktop Software (I don't recall exactly what to do but there should be some settings in the top right corner) and set it to not open when a device is connected. Once you have it set to not open when your phone is connected, make sure that Link is set to open. That should resolve your issue.
Let us know if that helps you.

Blackberry Desktop Software not recognize my device
Hello, I speak from Brazil.
After update my Blackberry Desktop Software, it no longer recognizes my device, a Torch 9800. My windows is the Seven. How to fix this problem? GratefullHi all. I had the same problem and spent several hours on the phone with Blackberry Support. Its a problem with the latest update. Here is what fixed the problem:
Finally got it working again! Re-downloaded the desktop software (but when you start it up, make sure to uncheck the automatic update option). While that was downloading, I was instructed to go to microsoft.com and search for and download .NET Framework 3.5. Once you click to download that, there will be an offer to download 2 other items. One of which will be Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Web Installer). Click to download that too. Once they are finished downloading, run both files. .Net Framework 4 Client Profile will take longer and will ask you if you want to repair or remove. Choose repair. The repair took several minutes, but once it was done, I clicked "Finish", opened the BB Desktop Software, UNCHECKED THE AUTO UPDATE OPTION, and plugged in my phone. Once windows finished installing the drivers, Low and behold! The Desktop software recognized that the phone was connected! I hope this helps you resolve your issue as well. When it again offered me an update I clicked to update later (meaning never!). Best of luck to you. -
Want Blackberry Desktop Software to push MULTILANGUAGE Device OS
Hi. I just had to switch to an older Bold 9700 while my Bold 9790 is being repaired. Upgraded the OS via Blackberry Deskstop Software and then realised later that there is no Arabic language option. Is there a way that I can ensure that my Desktop Software pushes the Multilanguage Device OS in the future? I'm frustrated at having to re-load yet another operating system and restore all my data!!! By the way, the link to download the multilanguage software is not easy to find either.
Hello,
Having language availability is a matter of having installed, to the BB, the OS package that includes the desired language, as governed by this KB:
KB05305 Localization support for BlackBerry smartphones
Consequently:

Yes...by installing, to your PC, the specific OS package you desire (as per the above KB). Doing this properly overrides the automatic methods that the Desktop Software/Loader.exe uses, and forces it to use the OS package you installed to your PC, regardless of the results of the automatic methods.
chilkootcindy wrote:

Unfortunately, if your carrier does not automatically offer you the OS package containing the language you need, then your only choice is the manual method, which indeed involves reloading your BBOS (along with requiring the backup/restore/configuration issues you mention).
chilkootcindy wrote:

OK...well, here in this user-to-user community, there's really nothing we can do about that...but all official OS packages are always available via the official download portal:
http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
Good luck!

"The BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot connect with this device." after repair
I download the Desktop Software for BlackBerry onto my Mac Book Pro for the first time.
After installing I connected my PlayBook. I get the message "The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device."
The program suggested I repair the device software, so I did. After that I set it up and ran the updates.
When I plug it back in I get the exact same message.
What should I do next?
co-founder of Diaree | BB Dev for PictureThisI also cannot connect to my two playbooks using desktop manager on mac.
One of the two playbooks is now shipped back to rim for repair (see here http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/5MP-Playbook-Camera-Blackscreen-Errors-Ha... The issue of desktop manager not being able to connect to the playbook started with this playbook when the repair I was prompted to to stopped 1/4 way into it. Multiple retries did not make any difference.
Since then, I have tried connecting my other (functioning) playbook to the same mac but when I plug in usb cable I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg and prompted to "repair". I am definitely NOT going to "repair" this one. So I uninstalled the desktop manager and reinstalled it to see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately it did not and I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg.
If anyone has any suggestion how this issue can be resolved that would be great. I think something is stuck on the mac and is not getting wiped out when desktop manager is uninstalled. Thanks. -
Hello,
I have installed multiple 3-rd party applications on my phone through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. I am attempting to remove certain applications from the list.
Here is what I experience:
I click on Applications icon. BBDS communicates with the phone and then displays a list of native applications. I click on Install/Remove button. A list of third party applications are displayed. I de-select an application and the hit Start. The phone is restarted. I can confirm that the application is removed from my phone, however, the application name is still displayed under Install/Remove applications. I even clicked on the app and highlighted the application but there is no option to remove the app from the list. When I click on Edit the delete option is disabled. My goal is to remove the 3rd party application from the list completely. Please help!
Here is my system information:
System: Mac
OS: 10.6.8
BlackBerry Desktop Software (Version 2.3.0 (build 12))
My phone information:
BlackBerry Curve 8530
Carrier: SprintHi Bessick
On your Device Homescreen go to Options > Device > BlackBerry ID > login with your BlackBerry ID ,After Login Open BBM and see if your BBM contacts are available .
Or if you have a previous backup then connect your device and run BlackBerry Desktop Software > Click On device > Restore > You can select your BBM contact list to from the list which you can restore back on your device.

Blackberry Desktop Software slows down Network Connectivity on Win 7 start up
Hi,
I am new so be gently..lol
I am running windows 7 64bit Home Premium. I recently noticed that on start up my PC was taking between 10 and 20 seconds to set up it's network connectivity, which previously was almost instant. There were no erros within the event logs to suggest why this was occuring. The last thing installed was the blackberry desktop manager. I uninstalled this, and found that my network connectivity was now occuring almost instantly again.
Is this a know issue with this software? I have searched the forum but cannot find anything simliar, only people saying it was slowing down start up as a whole which is not what is happening to me.
Thanks for any help or advice in advance.
TLEHi and Welcome to the Forums!
Typically, if you have installed the RIM DTM software to auto-start every time you boot your PC, the boot time will increase. Personally, I've found no reason to allow DTM to auto-start...I only launch it when I need it.
To perform a full clean uninstall, see this KB:

Blackberry Desktop Software Failed to validate your blackberry device
Blackberry 8310 was running slow. The people at the ATT store said I need to update the software. Downloaded the newest version to the desktop and when I tried to upload it to the phone received the following message
"Blackberry Desktop Software Failed to validate your blackberry device update"
"Aborting install due to validation failure. Some packages contained unsatisfied dependencies"
I am sure others have seen it. What do I need to do. Thanks MikeGlad to hear. I just did this again last night, and I think I've isolated the specific program that causes the problem, but I can't be sure.
I think it's "Documents To Go".
People might try deleting just that one program first in Options > Applications > Add-Ons if they didn't want to delete everything else too. It's worth a shot.

.Desktop Software does not connect to Blackberry Pearl 8130
On Monday, 12/17/12, I accepted an update of Blackberry Desktop Software to 7.1.0.37 (Bundle39). Since then my computer is unable to connect to my Blackbeery Pearl 8130 through the destop software. The computer sees the Blackberry fine, so there is not a problem with the USB cable or connection. It is the Blackberry software that does not work. How do I revert to the previous version of Blackberry Desktop Software (which did work just fine)?
Forget it. I found an old download file on my computer and installed the software and now it works.

BlackBerry Desktop Software does not recognize my device
My problem is that when I plug my phone into my desktop computer by USB it will charge, but when I go to do anything to by means of BlackBerry Desktop Software the program does not recognize that my device is plugged in. This has been going on for months now that it will not sync, I just haven't desperately needed to sync my phone until now. I have tried pulling the battery and pulling the sim card. I have also tried other USB cords.
