Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
Hopefully something there is helpful!
Cheers!

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 a few months ago.
Up till then I was happily able to sync mac Contacts and Calendar to my Blackberry Curve 9320 via Blackberry's Desktop Manager (for Mac).
Since upgrading the software tells me to that Mac Sync Manager is turned off. I know it isn't because everything else is syncing.
When I hunt through your support I find that there are solutions for this problem for other Mac OS versions but not for Maverick, so please tell me how I can once again use my business phone happily as I did before upgrading!
Many thanks

BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which is synchronized with the desktop applications on the Mac computer (for example: Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly to or from the desktop applications on the Mac computer.
Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, therefore, it is not possible to synchronize Contact or Calendar information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on these versions of OS X.
For more information on SyncServices and OS X Mavericks, see the following Apple Support article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5847
Note: BlackBerry Desktop software 2.4 is still supported for use with Mac OS X v10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.

Why doesn't BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronize my BlackBerry contacts with my iMac Address Book
Hi there, please help! I am trying to sync my BlackBerry contacts with my iMac Address Book. I used BlackBerry Desktop Software and did a two-way sync, but my Address Book is still empty. The images on my BlackBerry copied to iPhoto, so the sync 'worked' here but not for the contacts. Thanks!
Hello AdalaMichelle and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
What OSX version does your Mac have? What's your BlackBerry Desktop Software version?
When you set up your Mac, did you enable iCloud for your Mac Address Book?
Is your Mac or your BlackBerry Address Book blank?
Did you enable wireless contact sync on your BlacKBerry when you added an email account?
Thanks!

Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working
Blackberry Torch 9850 on the Verizon Wireless Network
Blackberry OS: 7.1 Bundle 1737 (v 7.1.0.580, Platform 5.1.0.429)
Windows 7 Home Premium, SP11 with an full admin account
HP Desktop computer
For some unknown reason whenever I attempt to execute Blackberry Desktop Software version 7.1 the application returns the following error: "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working: A problem caused the program and notify you if a solution is available." The last successful use of DM was on Sunday, October 7, 2012 when I synched my phone and did a backup of the device.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the application; uninstalled Microsoft .Net Framework version 3.5 and 4.0 then re-installed .Net Framework; then re-installed DM under a new admin account and still getting the same problem. I even went as far as uninstalling Office and re-installing office and still getting the same problem. Whenever I uninstalled DM I did a manual uninstall where I removed all registry keys associated with Research in Motion including folders and still getting the same problem. I Googled the error and the articles worth reading I have already the things they mentioned.
NOTE: I have done a lot more troubleshooting that is listed. But since I did so much to get this to work it will take me an entire novel to list all the things I have done to get this app to work again.
Called VZW and they got me in contact with RIM. RIM did pretty much the same things I did and after spending 7 hours on the phone with them they concluded I need to reformat my drive. When the tech made that suggested I wanted to reach thru the phone and knock her teach out of her mouth. Suffice to say I am not able to get DM to work on my machine and there appears to be no apparent reason why the software will stop working. Not have DM work means I cannot synch my phone. I have one personal computer and I am not going to install DM on my laptop because it will do me no good since I need to synch it with Outlook which is on my personal desktop. I cannot install my personal copy of office on my work laptop because it will probably cause other issues.
Anyone have any suggestions how I can get this application working on my desktop. It was working before and all of a sudden it stopped workinghttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206

Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac won't open
I've downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac to begin synching my new Torch but when I try to launch the software, I get the following message.
"The document “BlackBerry Desktop Software.mpkg” could not be opened. TextEdit cannot open files in the “Installer package” format."
Has anyone encountered this and had any luck getting it to open?
Any advice appreciated -- anxious to update my contacts and fully use my new phone!Hi choochoo2,
Have you been able to try using a different USB port or to retry connecting after reinserting the BlackBerry battery? If so, try reinstalling the Desktop Software and retrying the connection.

BlackBerry Desktop Software error when trying to run from my computer desktop
Hi: I have installed the BlackBerry Desltop Software ver 6.0 on my Dell Dimension 4700 PC @3.4 GHz which runs Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and has 1GB of RAM.
Each time I have tried to start the software from the desktop icon, I receive an error message saying that BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and need to close.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, how did you resolve it? Any assistacne would be most appreciated as I wish to synch my Torch with Outlook 2003 for contacts and appointments!!
ThanksHello,
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
Some have reported that there are more registry keys to remove than are discussed in that KB
Others have reported the use of a registry cleansing tool to also be helpful
3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchronizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
5) Install DTM to your PC
6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

Blackberry Desktop Software Error 0x80043ac9
Hi all,
I have a 9800 Torch and I use a wire/cable sync with the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Software 6.0.2.44. It was working fine but now I am getting a message as it syncs the calendar that reads "Error Encountered. Error Code 0x80043ac9. Check documention."
Of course, I can find no such documentation. I have tried to delete my Contacts. Backed them up, deleted them from device and restored them. No luck. I did same with Calendar. No luck.
I have stopped the Calendar from syncing now and it works fine but of course my Calendar is no longer syncing.
Suggestions anyone please?I'm having the exact same issue with my Torch and Outloock Calendar. Blackberry is worthless to me if I can't sync. RIM, please help!!!

I need the old Blackberry Desktop software 6.1 for PC Urgently!!!!
I upgraded to the 7.0 software as prompted by the auto-upgrade setting. But it did not work for me! It was stuck at the last step forever. I did it over again 3 times, and it did not work. I restart the computer, recovered my system to a few days ago. And my 6.1 software was still not working. It showed an error.
I went home, bring out the installation disc from my Torch package. But it was a mini-CD and point me to download the 7.0 software! Every attempt to reinstall or repair the old 6.1 software were "Rolled back".
I have never been so ferious with Blackberry EVER!Richmondmac wrote:
If I remove the new version 7, should I try to reinstall a prior version from the link above? If so, which one? I have a BB9700.
From your PC > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, remove your current BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Reboot your PC (Start > Turn off , etc)
Upon startup, download this file: 610_b034_multilanguage
Install that file by double-clicking on it and following the prompts.
Now, try your normal sync. You MAY need to setup your Desktop Software SYNC parameters to Outlook again as before.

Blackberry Desktop Software will not Sync with Outlook
Hello,
I recently installed Blackberry Desktop Manager 7.1 for Windows on a PC and it will not allow me to sync with outlook calendar, memos and contacts. It will however sync windows Contacts, if I try to select the option to sync with calendar or memos it gives me an error that now compatible software can be found and to visit blackberry.com/desktop/docs. I am running Outlook 2010 32bit in Windows 7 with the latest Blackberry desktop software. I am not to familiar with Blackberry so any help would be greatly appreciated!Well I believe I have figured out the answer to my own question, I ended up having to do a repair installation for Office 2010 and I was able to sync from outlook to the Blackberry.

Blackberry Desktop Software V6.0.2
I just recently joined the RIM Blackberry family. I've installed the latest version of the Blackberry Desktop software, but am having trouble loading the program.
I get a Windows error report...
"BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Does anyone know what issues the program could be having? I've downloaded the program multiple times, re-installed, repaired, and tried to contact Blackberry. I'm incredibly frustrated. Anyone else having this issue, and possibly knows how to fix this?OK I FIND SOLUTION FROM FIRST TIME. I was in January already registered under nick name HONGKONG
and here is solution what work first time. But now after DMupdate again DONT WORK.
I had all the same problems as everyone else on this thread, but it was just as simple as renaming Rim.Desktop.Services.PolicyManager.dll to Rim.Desktop.Services.PolicyManager.dll.old and then back to Rim.Desktop.Services.PolicyManager.dll it worked.
The file is located in:
C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Desktop\Modules\
I can only say RIM, I never buy again BB units. Bye [keep it courteous please]. -
Hello All,
Is there a Blackberry Desktop Software for MAC OS 10.4.11? Or something equivalent?
I recently switched from a palm treo to blackberry but didn't anticipate syncing issues with my mac until now. The current BB desktop software seems only compatible with MAC OS 10.5, so I'm in a difficult position.
Please any suggestions are deeply welcomed!!
Thank you.
HillmanNo, sorry, there is not.

Blackberry Desktop Software crashes on startup
I am running Windows XP on an Intel-based Mac through Boot Camp. I have only recently had this issue and cannot resolve it. I have Blackberry Desktop Software installed on my Mac as well and it runs fine, but I also need it for the Windows side because my company runs Lotus Notes and they subscribe to Blackberry Enterprise Server, so I need to routinely sync my phone with my Lotus Notes Contacts and calendar.
Here is what I receive:

The strange thin g is that under "error report contants" it shows the "system info" as Windows NT build 5.1, very strangeSame situation, same problem. ?? I only tried to use my Parallels windows instal becaue my mac version desktop software refused to delete applications or update. What is up with Blackberry and macs?

Considering your issue only seems to be with contacts, I would suspect there may be a corrupt/invalid contact entry in your Yahoo account. My suggestion is to first setup a one-way synchronization from the BlackBerry to Yahoo, then do the opposite. This should indicate where the issue is originating.
As well, check your Yahoo address book for any blank or incomplete contacts. Contacts that are missing a first name, last name and company name cannot be synchronized to the BlackBerry and could potentially cause hang-ups or a failed synchronization. A contact must have at least one of those three fields filled out.
Thanks!
