It means that the "Wireless Signal" to the mobile network is not selected. Open the Tray and select Manage Connections and be sure that the option for Mobile Network is selected.

This means your device need to be connected with your carrier network. In other words, SIM card need to be inserted and device should be turned on and connected.

  • UNLOCKING THE BLACKBERRY DEVICE

    Dear Sirs,
I travel a lot and like to take my blackberry 8900 curve with me and when abroad use a local sim to make calls etc., as it is significantly cheaper to do this. I have asked my service provider to do this but they have tried and failed in fact their attempt lead to my blackberry being blacklisted. This has now been lifted. I have received a new IMEI CODE from Vodaphone, with procedure instructions-
1 turn off the radio on the handset. Failure to do this could result in the handset becoming unusable. I however do not know how to disconnect the radio, in fact do not think I have such a facility. Pls clarify.
2 Go to advanced options-SIM CARD AND TYPE IN MEPD. I have tried that and nothing appears on the face of the phone. The sim card brings up Security disabled ID;-BLANK and on the next line a 20 digit number and two further lines, phone number blank and another line reading unknown number.
3 Type? mep? press and hold the ALT KEY and press ?2?.
    4. you are now prompted to type in the unlock code.
Since I cannot go, past item 2 above the whole exercise is futile and terribly frustrating.
Pls help- the IMEI CODEon the phone.
Could someone send me proper details to sort this. It would be a great help as I am very frustrated with Vodaphone.
    Many thanks
    Homi

  • My battery died then it still shows radio off even its full charged , pls help!

My battery died then i charged it and still the phone is radio off and the battery  is full, and just shows the home page and i cant go to the menu or do anything ??!!
cant even connect to the pc
    thanks in advance,

Then you've got a bricked dead device.
You can try again to try to wipe and reload the operating system if you want. You will need to use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
And if any of that doesn't work, I'd return to say it's a moisture problem. I've seen it all too often. IF it is moisture and you continue to use the device, you're just damaging it further.

  • Apps won't install: BlackBerry Desktop Mgr failed to validate your BlackBerry device update

Just tried out the new Desktop Manager for Mac and it seems to blow up when trying to either install or uninstall applications.
    I get the following error:
BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to validate your BlackBerry® device update.
Validation failed because a module marked for add (net_rim_platform_resource__pt) is not available on local disk
Some users have reported success with uninstalling an app first, but no luck with me.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi,
I've had the same problem and I have figured it out...for me anyway.  Make sure you have the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Manager and obviously the lastest software for BlackBerry Torch also.  So, ths is what worked for me...
connect phone to computer and click on Applications (top right)
    click "Check for Updates"
click "Show Other Versions" (if there are no updates for phone)
    chose "BlackBerry 6.0  6.0.0.246 (Current Version-Reload)
    then select
Once this has reloaded and your device is restarted go back to Applications and add/delete (by checking or un-checking) what you want.
*Warning:  I had a fair amount of trouble with error messages or something having to be reset, but after going through all the red tape and turning my phone off and on again a couple times it worked!!
Hope this helps or at least gets you started.

  • My blackberry keeps tuning off

Whenever i listen to music my phone just turns off. the screen either goes white or black and now it wont turn back on at all ive tried taking the battery out but it just loads for a few seconds then turns off again. help!!!!!!!!

    Hi lucyd
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
From what you described it appears that you should try a new battery,to see if that's a battery issue . Have you tried that ? Or start your device on Safe Mode , then play the same ,see if your device turn off itself.
KB17877 : How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
If even on safe mode it trun off then you might have to replace your Battery with a new one.

  • Blackberry 9320 shuts off and needs to remove the battery to turni it on.

My BlackBerry 9320 keeps shutting off even if my battery is half full. Is this unit/device related, battery related, or OS related defect? Thanks.

    Hello jrcalara
Well.. No one can predict or guess that way unless you  try it yourself some workaround regarding your problem. It may be an hardware / Software / Battery issue but somtime a bad app can also create such issues . So can confirm if recently installed any application before this Problem started ? Think carefully !
If you have then try to boot your device on Safe Mode , On Safe Mode delete any application which you think might be responsible for this issue , from Options > Device > Application Manegement > locate and delete any newly installed 3rd party application , it might help in resolving your issue :
KB17877 : How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
If above fails then try a Good fully charged Batttery and test it on your device , it will reveal if the problem is within your device or the battery itself .
If it's a device issue then you can try an OS reload , which will fix any software glitch .For that you can refer to this Knowledge Base :
KB03621 : How to Reload BlackBerry Device Software and application using BlackBerry Desktop Software
If even after an OS reload problem continues then you can consider your device had a hardware issue , for that you have to visit your service provider to get it fixed.
So, try those thing it will let you know the exact cause.

  • Blackberry keeps turning off! UGH HELP

My blackberry has been doing great for a year, but 2 weeks, I would fully charge it all night, and then it would shut off after about 2 hours, even if I didn't use it and I would have to put it in the charger for it to work again. Now, it's shutting off after FIFTEEN MINUTES of using it, and when I put it in the charger and it goes through the whole 3 minute restart, the battery says it's full, and again keeps closing after 15 minutes. I haven't download any new apps or anything, so can anyone PLEASE help?

    Hey Daliadalia,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
I would suggest to do a clean reload of the BlackBerry® device software as shown here:
How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry® Device Software for Windows
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320
If the issue still persists after the clean software reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry® Technical Support Services for further review and support.
    Thank you.

  • How do you sync iCloud (contact, calendar, task) to outlook 2011 for Mac? and how do you make seemless sync between iCloud to Outlook 2011 to Blackberry device or an iPad?

I have three device: Macbook Pro (OSX 10.7.5) for work; an iPad and a Blackberry for mobile. I used mail, iCal, and Address Book combine with mobileme (iCloud) to exchange data such as contact, calendar and task from my Mackbook Pro to my iPad but never to Blackberry. The problem is my boss was asking me to change to Outlook 2011 for Mac because some of the email that I sent from Mail did not appear in my client's Blackberry. So how do you sync iCloud (contact, calendar, task) to Outlook 2011 for Mac? and how do you make seemless sync between iCloud to Outlook 2011 to Blackberry device or an iPad?
    Best regards,
    W. Sasongko

  • Adobe Interactive Form on BlackBerry device

    Hi,
I am trying to open an adobe interactive form (generated by SAP and Adobe LifeCycle Designer) on my BlackBerry device.
Instead of the document's content I get the following message:
When opening a PDF document containing an XFA form on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone the following error is displayed:
This document is an XFA form. XFA forms cannot be filled using the Mobile Adobe Reader.
Is there any possibility to open and maintain the document anyway or what is adobe's strategy regarding this scenario?
Thanks a lot and best regards,
    Thomas

They haven't really announced it, because there is no product to announce. Rather the opposite.
There are no conversion tools, so far as I know.
XFA forms are a non-starter if you want portability.
AcroForms are a nightmare in themselves, because the functionality is limited in Adobe Reader and varies between absent and weird in other products. No idea about Blackberry support.
You will not find a simple recommendation. Rather, you need to use Acroforms and carefully test everything (EVERYTHING: no assumptions) on every platform you intend to support.
Yes, rather unsatisfactory, but until Adobe realise that the future is platform equivalence or irrelevance, this is where we are.
