When using the Blackberry Playbook Facebook App, the chat feature keeps disconnecting, then later reconnects.  What would be causing this????

what security are you using on the router. is there a firewall? Is there any particular network like home or work. try a hot spot like starbucks or mcdonalds and report back.

    Its High Time Since Im Trying With This Issue, And None Of The Forum's Solution Has Worked Out For Me.

    I am having the exact same issue!  I have placed numerous calls to Verizon for help (TechSupport) and also in store tech help.  My phone is working,  I am able to pullother apps.  For some reason, I am unable to log in to FB on my Blackberry application.   I get an unable to log in service code 2406.  This then generates a text message with the code 32665 and a whole bunch of Chinese letters.  I have no idea what is going on or why.  I am able, however, to log into facebook on my phone if I go through the internet browser and log in this way.--
    Very confused---Before, I was just able to hit the FB application button and it automatically signed me in--I had to noever enter email or passwords.  So, I am FRUSTRATED!!  mMy phone has been security wiped 4x, and facebook reinstalled--problem still happens111 HELP--Blackberry/FB--any fixes I am not aware of??

  • Facebook App - Problems with Newsfeed & Missing Notifications/Messages

    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I continue to have two frustrating problems with my Facebook for Blackberry app that I installed directly via RIM's website:
    1. I am always missing notifications & messages on my blackberry. Sometimes they come through and other times they do not. Right now my blackberry said I had no new notifications or messages, but when I logged onto my Facebook account on my PC it showed I had 2 new messages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook app three different times (each time also removing & reinstalling my battery). After doing this, it seems to work consistently for a short while (maybe a week or two) and then starts missing notifications & messages all over again. This is incredibly unreliable and frustrating - RIM really needs to fix this.
    2. My second problem is that on my blackberry Facebook app I continue to see posts from apps that my friends interact with in my newsfeed that I have blocked on my main Facebook page (i.e. games like Farmville, Hidden Chronicles, various horoscope apps, etc). If I have blocked them on my regular Facebook account and they do not show up in my newsfeed when I'm logged into Facebook on a computer, why am I seeing them on my newsfeed on my blackberry? Again, this is a very annoying problem and really needs to be fixed.
    I hope someone in the forum can help me wth these issues.

    I haven't tried the older version of skype yet. But I did try one thing that worked, it's just not ideal. Basically I set up a new account through skype and then logged in through that account. Everything worked perfectly fine. I could send and receive messages and everything updated like it was supposed to. Altough I obviously had to readd all my contacts and group chats, which was a pain. I logged out of that account and logged back into my original one and it was still having the same problems. I have absolutely no idea why a new account will work fine but my old account won't. But if you want to keep the updated version of skype and don't mind all of the hassle of making a new account, that's one sort of solution.

    Since updating AppWorld has nothing to do with the Facebook app there is no way to know why your Facebook app won't work. Did you update anything else after updating Appworld? Do you have a BB data plan on your account? This isn't always necessary any more but either wifi or some type of data plan is required for the apps to work..

  • Blackberry contact app on facebook not enabled

    I recently upgraded the software on my BlackBerry Bold 9930 to version 7.1.0. Following that I also upgraded the Facebook app to version 2.0.0.58. I'd like to enable the "BlackBerry Contacts application" so that my device contacts are updated with information from Facebook, but that option is grayed out and I cannot check it. Any suggestions?

    I have seen other posts on this problem as well. I certianly expect to get a refund. I understand the no refund after you download policy, but this app was supported by the apple store, and worked for less than 48 hours. It was on the to 10 apps for awhile. If the apple store does not verify the software before they put it on for a paid download, I am certian we can expect a refund.

    I have the Facebook app on my Curve. Can you just see the News Feed posts or can you also delete (or hide) the posts like I can on my PC)? If so, I can't find a way to delete (or hide) them.

  • Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones app not working!

    So, I recently updated the facebook app to v.3.2.0.12 on my BB Curve 8520 and I seem to be having some trouble using it since then. It was working absolutely fine this morning, but now when I open the app, it's taking too long to load the news feed, and is not loading any of my friend's wall, or mine at all. Neither is it opening the chat. It keeps retrying but it never opens!
    Any immediate help with this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    First thing... Go to the Facebook for BlackBerry > Options > Logout. Close the app and reopen and log back in.
    Second, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

  • Facebook app not working and my blackberry world has completely disappeared, help please!

    Hi guys, I'm in a real stooper, my facebook app. Was due an upgrade but soon after the upgrade it stopped working and everytime I click on to the icon it crashes the phone so I have to switch it on and off again to get it working, it then displays an error message. I've also noticed that my blackberry app. World icon has totally disappeared.
    I really hope someone can give me some advice as I don't really know where to go from here and who to contact, please help!!

    use the browser to go to facebook and log in scroll down to the bottom of the page and down lowd the app from there
    after take your bt3 out  after botting  your  app will work

  • MY BBM , BLACKBERRY WORLD, FACEBOOK APPS AND OTHER IM APPS STOPPED WORKING ON MY HOME WiFi CONNECTION

    Please I am wondering if anyone will have solution to my BBM problem , I am presently using my blackberry on home wiFi connection as I have ended my contract with my network provider(virgin). The BBM, IM applications ( yahoomessenger, window live, AIM, talk) ,my facebook apps and blackberry world were all working fine even with different wifi connection. But recently I am unable to use all these above mentioned applications more importantly my BBM as I needed it badly to communicate. Initially , I thought it was the internet connection at home but I found out the browser and two other applications I have are working perfectly. I don't know if anyone will have an idea of any solution to this problem. 
    I would appreciate any effort towards solving this problem.

    BBM requires an active BlackBerry data plan. As for others, try downloading the latest version of App World from www.blackberry.com/appworld and then update your Facebook and Twitter apps, most should work via WiFi only.

  • Unable to retrieve full contact screen by clicking track pad/ Facebook app update coincidenc​e?

    Recently I discovered that when I navigate to a particular contact (it just happens to be the people I talk, email, text with most often) their information doesn't open up when I click on the trackpad.  This only seems to be happening with specific contacts and not the majority of people in my address book.  At this point I can only get my frequent contact's  specific information (phone numbers, email addresses etc) by clicking the trackpad to find their contact name, clicking again on the menu key (I cannot click view either) and then selecting email, call, sms, mms etc and only then can I do the specific task.  This is a new problem so I'm wondering if I've turned off some feature on my frequent contacts when I updated my FAcebook app on my phone.  Help!!

    Doubtful.
    I assume you're speaking of viewing those contacts from navigating to the Address Book?
    Try a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner:
    With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    Often such a reboot will fix most glitches like this.

  • Facebook app download error

    I've tried to download Facebook application from blackberry site to my 8520 through desktop and connect my 8520 to desktop using USB cable as instructed. But after browser verified that 8520 connect then I press download, browser crash. Always happen like this.
    FYI, somehow I can't download Facebook app directly from my 8520 so I choose download through desktop. I'm using windows 7, blackberry destop manager 5 and device version 4.6.1
    Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

  • Removed Facebook App - Lost all of my previously synced emails

    Hi All,
    Not sure if im posting in the right section but if not please let me know.
    Got a Curve 8900 in the uk on orange and was having a few problems with the calendar (when you added a new appointment it showed as a facebook calendar appointment no matter which book you used), so i removed the facebook app to see if that was causing the problem.
    Once i had restarted all of my previously synced emails have gone including all of my saved messages, is ther any way i can get this information back? Any ideas why this has happened?

    ok, so do this:
    On your BlackBerry device, go to:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
    From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
    Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.
    From your desktop PC:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
    North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
    WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list
    3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

  • Can't get Facebook App to work on Bold 9700

    I have used the Facebook app on my Bold 9700 the past couple of years.  Recently, after an upgrade of the Facebook app, I can no longer get Facebook to work on my phone.  I have installed and uninstalled the app numerous times.  I have done many hard boots by pulling my battery.  Nothing I try seems to work.
    When I go to options>applications>add ons it shows that the Facebook app is downloaded onto my phone, but the Facebook application has disappeared from my Applications folder.  If I uninstall Facebook, the Facebook app icon re-appears into the Applications folder.  When I install the app again, it disappears from the Applications folder once again.
    If I go to Blackberry World>My World.....Facebook shows as being uninstalled.  If I click on just about anything in My World.....my phone crashes and has to reboot.
    Some serious glitch going on.  Is this my phone only or is anyone else having troubles with Facebook and My World after recent upgrades?  Facebook is about the only app I use frequently and I would hate to not be able to use it ever again on my phone.

    I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.
    You may also need the use of these tricks:

  • Facebook App v3.3 Error - HELP!

    I have a Torch 9800. I tried to upgrade earlier today to the new Facebook App v3.3. I rebooted my phone when prompted, and when my phone started up there was an Error message that said something about java.lang. Now my Facebook app is gone, and Blackberry App World will not open. I tried rebooting again, but the same thing happens. I also tried to install the Facbook app from App World online, and it says installation failed. What do I do now? Thank You!

    Yep, everything was working just fine. I got an App World notification for a Facebook upgrade, so I went to App World and started the upgrade. After it was done it prompted me to reboot, like it usually does after some upgrades, and I did the reboot. When my phone came back on, right away there was an error msg that popped up. It said "Uncaught Exception java.lang.error" And that's when I noticed my icons had all shifted, because the Facebook App icon was gone. So I tried to go back to App World, but I touch it and click on it and it just refuses to open now. The only place I could even find the Facebook App was listed in Application Management, so I deleted it. Then I went to Facebook.com on my browser and tried to download the app again, and it took me to App World online, instead of through the actual app, but the Facebook App downloaded, and again I got the same error msg "Uncaught Exception java.lang.error". So, I deleted the Facebook App again, but for some reason App World will not open. (And yes, we have a data plan, and yes, "3G" is at the top. We've had these phones for almost 2 years, and nothing like this has ever happened.)
