Blackberry having trouble playing youtube videos

I own a blackberry curve 8530 and its having trouble playing youtube videos. It plays youtube videos up to 59 seconds and then it stops. It gives me the same error message saying:
"An error has occured attempting to play the media".
I have tried turning on and off my phone, pressing alt+enter+del, and doing the battery pull. None of those methods have worked.
Has anyone had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it? Ive pretty much have tried everything i could think of and none of the forums seems to have a solution.
Is the phone the problem or is youtube?
If you know of the solution, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello hashbrown602,
The following post by Cory from the Inside BlackBerry Help Blog outlines a few steps you can try to successfully play videos from YouTube.
http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2011/03/watch-youtube-on-blackberry/
If you still have issues after going through each of the steps, you may want to contact your wireless service provider to check your data plan settings.
Cheers,

  • Having trouble playing some videos in IE9

    Vista Home Premium SP2
    32 bit
    IE9 and Firefox 7
I am having a terrible time with flash in IE9. I can not access that hardware acceleration feature to turn it off. If I right click on the video box I just get my normal context menu. I went to the page where it gives me the version of Flash I am using. I right clicked in that box and got the correct meny, but the option "Settings" is grayed out so that I can't select it.
Amazon.com provides videos on some products. For instance, Command Hooks. I can go to one Command product and play the video. If I go to another Command product and try to play the video, most times it just continues to show "Loading ..." and sometimes it will tell me I have to download Flash version 9 or above; I already have version 11.
It's hard to explain because it is so whacky. I can play videos on Amazon in Firefox 7.
I can also play videos on YouTube -- most of the time. Whenever I go up to the address bar, click on the blue circle to "Turn off ActiveX Filtering" and the circle remains blue, I know I am not going to be able to play the video.
Under uninstall or change a program it shows Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin.
    Please, please someone, help!

Can you turn off ActiveX Filtering completely: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968 ?

  • Why do I have trouble playing youtube videos?

Most of the time when I attempt to watch a youtube video, it either loads very slowly, or not at all.  I do not have trouble watching videos on any other site. I've got a brand new MacBook Pro running 10.7.4, 2.9 ghz, 8 gb memory. The current download speed of my wireless network is 16 gb/sec. Could someone please advise?

Linc and tori29, thanks for your input, and no, I do not encounter the "currently unavailable" message.

  • Trouble playing YouTube videos

Quite suddenly I cannot play any YouTube clips. I have followed all the online advice, uninstalled and re-installed (it says it was successful) but nothing has helped. I am not at all technical, but after two hours going round in circles, I am desperate for some advice

What do you see for your Flash Player version, OS, and browser info?

    Mine looks like this:

  • My MacBook Pro will not play YouTube videos ever since I downloaded and upgraded to OS X Mavericks. Any suggestions?

I know that this is not an issue with my internet not working, because I have this problem regardless of which wireless network I am connected to. Thank you!

    Try unistalling and reinstalling

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    1. If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    2. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    3. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              •          Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    4. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    5. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    6. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    7. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
    Hope thi helps

  • Trouble playing back videos on my iPod touch

I recently started having trouble playing back video on my iPod touch. I have the most recent versions of iPod software, iTunes, and Quicktime. The video podcasts sync just fine but only play audio...no video. I basically get the first frame of the video and that's it. I have tried restoring the iPod, resetting it, deauthorizing/reauthorizing my iMac (using Leopard), etc. Nothing works. Interestingly, my wife has a nano and she suddenly cannot sync videos even though it was working fine just 2-3 weeks ago. These are basic m4v files that are downloaded from iTunes, so they should work. I believe this started after the last iPod software update but I can't be certain. Is anyone else having this problem?

Try starting video playback under the video section-not the audio section.

  • Im having trouble playing games, dvds and youtube videos. any help?

Im having trouble playing CD games on my Mac. They open and then close right away everything i need is downloaded. I have trouble watching some YouTube videos. Some play and then the others either go in slow motion or dont play at all. I also am having trouble playing DVDs. the DVD play opens then says that "a valid video device could not be found for playback". If anyone can help me out that wpuld be great.

For server issues try using OpenDNS servers. System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS.
Click on the + in the left column and insert the following:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK, then click Apply
    For you reference: http://www.opendns.com
Actually 10.8.3 is snappier than before. Even Safari (updated). Boot to your ML recovery disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Utility.

On my Ipad I seem to be having a problem when trying to play YouTube videos embedded on Facebook.
When I click the links, I get a message saying: "Flash Player upgrade required."
and under it, it says, "You need to download and install the lastes version of Adobe Flash Player to view this content"
and also a green button saying "Get Flash Player"
I get this if using chrome or safari .
I can go direct to YouTube it just works.

The Facebook link to the video is accessing an Adobe Flash video.  Unfortunately, no iOS devices can play flash.

  • Trouble playing any videos on Macbook Pro

So 2 months back, my macbook pro is having trouble playing any type of flash videos, from youtube, embedded videos, pretty anything with flash. flash player is up to date, i can surf the internet and do my work flawlessly but as soon as i start a video, the mbp starts to slow down and the video starts getting choppy. Not sure what else to do before giving up and going to the apple store. I've shut it down and restarted it still having issues. any help would be appreciated! Running OS X 10.8.2

I have been having these same problems. Currently, playing YouTube videos in HD, is not viewable, so I have to watch videos in 240p (gross). My thought is that YouTube has shut down some of the servers in order to push some kind of update. My advice, just wait out the storm and see what happens over the next few days. If the issue is still not fixed, I would suggest contacting Google. In the meantime, you could try and reinstall Flash Player, or change browsers, but from my experience, none of that worked.
    Best of luck!

  • My BB Curve 3G 9300 can't play youtube videos on 3G network

I'm having problems watching youtube videos. I open the youtube app, search and select the video I want to watch. When the video tries to load, it shows a message saying "cannot find web address. Verify that this web address is valid." This happens when the signal is 3G (with the BB logo), even if it is at full strength.
It plays normally when I'm connected via wi-fi, but I'm not always in a wi-fi zone. It also plays when the signal is EDGE (no BB logo) but loads too slowly and plays choppy with too much buffering. Therefore, I need it to play when I'm connected via 3G. Soft and hard resets do not solve the problem.
I called my service provider (Globe) and they told me there's no problem with my account, settings, their signal/area of coverage and system or anything else. So they suggested that the youtube application needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled. Is this what I really have to do? How can this be done? I can't find the same youtube app in the BB App World. There are youtube apps there but not the same kind. What should I do?
Here's some info about my device:
    - BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300
    - Country: Philippines
    - Carrier: Globe
    - OS 6
    - Youtube app  1.0.0.40

Same issue here under EDGE. When turning on wifi, it does work. This is strange since it only started to happen a few days ago. Before that, I could stream youtube videos to my curve flawlessly under EDGE.

  • Having Trouble viewing YouTube on your older machine?

Hi Apple forums! today I have a tip for all pepople having trouble viewing YouTube on older machines, say you go to YouTube.com, and you start playing a video, but the frame rate is very slow? so what now? do you just abandon your iBook clamshell and leave it on the closet so spiders eat them up? NO, today, finally there is a solution for all to view YouTube without using the flash player, which slows the old machines down, and opening the video out side YouTube, on a bit lower quaily, but still good quality, this works with all versions of Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, and even Mac OS 8.6, here is how:
Make sure you have the real player installed or any player that will open up 3gp files, Open up Interner Explorer 5 under Mac OS 9, if no Mac OS 9, iCab, OR any browser that will allow you to open the real player. Since we are not using the normal version of YouTube, BUT the Mobile version, you will go to m.Youtube.com, then you can search any video avaliable on the mobile YouTube network, once you are in video`s page, you must Click "Watch Video" and then, Internet Explorer will open up the real player.
And Voila! you have just opened a YouTube video outside YouTube so you can view it nicely, say on a 250Mhz System!
Now, there are some notes, some times the video wont play, and also, not all 100% of the videos on the normal YouTube will be avaliable.
And thats it, thats how you will make your iBook G3 more usable now!
of course, I did this with Mac OS 10.3, so some one has to verify this with a vesrion of Mac OS 9, OR Mac OS 8.5.
I am spreading the word about this tip because I know those people who have those old PowerBook G3s and iBook G3s want to watch YouTube, but cant.
    Thanks!

Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.

Flash player freeze a lot when playing Youtube videos fullscreen from Linux, but plays videos ok from Windows (CPU: AMD APU).
When playing video in default size it's OK (windows and Linux), but when setting video in full screen, on Linux there's troubles: video is hashed (freeze every 3 seconds).

Hi s, well congrats on getting your brother's computer up and running. On your system, you have all correct Flash Player
files for IE and FF, as well as the SWO and SWF.
Since the Install of Flash Player, have you installed any programs that would have added any ActiveX Controls, or any other add ons or plug-ins?
Have you had an opportunity to see if your brother's computer has the issue you have when watching the same websites?
Are you using any ad-block in FF(Firefox) or any pop up blocker software installed?  I can't imagine updating to FP version 10 alone would cause this.
Is this happening only on the BBC website? Does what you watch come thru the BBC website or youtube directly?
We have your brother's computer to use to determine what is going on. If he is able to see the BBC website and what you
are having problems with, then we can rule out the website.
Other browser add ons, anti-virus programs, etc. affect the browser. Even tho, no problem with vs 9. Sometimes updates
can have an affect, even with Windows as we all know:-)
    Thanks,

I am having trouble playing MFX files in Premiere Pro CC. The audio is out of synch. Is there a way to monitor the audio correctly?
    Many thanks

Chances are the pinnacle is producing .avi files or MPEFG1/2 streams - iTunes may know how to decode the audio but not the video. Download Handbrake and try running the Pinnacle files through it and adding to iTunes - use Universal format unless you have a specific device in mind.
    Keep copies of the originals.
Another option might be to try to install Perian.  Can't remember if the Apple MPEG2 plugin allows MPEG2 to be played in iTunes.

  • Having trouble with the video function..

I just purchased the 60GB ipod photo. I'm transferring music files easily. However, I'm having trouble with the video function. I've loaded Itunes 6, reloaded the original setup disk, and have loaded the latest updates for the unit. I can download movies from the itunes store and save them to my library, but I cant seem to transfer the video files to the ipod. Ive reinstalled itunes and the update 6 with no success. After syncing the ipod it only shows the music files even after all that Ive tried. Additionally, there is no evidence of the video function on the main menu after the update attempts. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm eager to get past this problem so that I can start tranfering personal movies and video files.

You Have an iPod Photo, You do NOT have a 5th Generation Video iPod. Get it? You need the 5G model to play video.
If the salesman told you it was the 5G model he lied, was ignorant or both. If video is important or if thats what you thought you were getting you will need to return your 4G iPod photo for new iPod.
