Blackberry ID and Changing Sim cards
Hi
I have a BB 9810 Torch which I use for my business which uses a Vodafone SIM with my business mobile number.
I have also recently purchased a BB Z10 and have been trialing it using a temporary SIM card on a pay as you go data tarrif and temporary phone number (with MS Active Sync to sync email, contacts & calendar with MS Outlook).
I have now decided to swap out my BB Torch and make the Z10 my main business phone.
I have spent around 10 hours over the last 3 days transferring all my data and configuring the settings on the BB Z10 with all my email addresses, calendars & data files etc.
I now just need to swap the telephone number from my BB Torch to my BB Z10. I have a second micro sim and Vodafone are ready to transfer my business mobile number to the new micro sim so I can put it into the BB Z10.
However, I have just been told that there may be a problem with some form of link between the BB ID I use on the Z10 and the temporary SIm card I have been using - and that if I change SIM card I may no longer be able to access all the data I have loaded onto the device.
Please can you confirm if changing SIM cards on the BB Z10 causes an issue with the Blackberry ID or if there are no problems changing SIM ? (As mentioned my ISP is Vodafone UK).
Many thanks.... gp20018
Your BlackBerry ID is attached to your phone's PIN, not the SIM. If you hold a phone with a certain SIM in it and you swap in another SIM, that might affect some elements associated with your carrier but it shouldn't touch anything BlackBerry-related.
Once you put your SIM in your Z10 (which is not the phone currently associated with your BB ID) and you sign in to your BB ID on the Z, you'll be notified that it's a new PIN and you'll be asked if you want to move your BB ID to that phone. A simple 'yes' and you're on your way.
Cheers.

How can I switch my phone from blackberry to galaxy s4 mini? Just change SIM card?
Hi,
I'm using Blackberry curve 9370 and wanna change it to Samsung galaxy s4 mini. I've purchased s4 mini and not yet received it. So, when I receive the new s4 mini, how can I switch it? Just change SIM card? Both SIM card sizes are the same? Or should I visit nearby verizon store? Please guide me. Thanks in advance!Congrats on your new phone MIn-Sun. Since your changing from a Blackberry device to an Android device you will need to make sure all your contacts are backed up. You can use backup assistance to save your contacts and restore them on your Android phone. If you're unsure you can definitely visit a store location in your area. Here are some steps http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/how-to-get-backup-assistant-blackberry/ .

I have Iphone 4 it was work fine in my country (bahrain) i went to UK and i change sim card to O2 and when i came back it doesn't work in my country i think because i update the carrier in Uk its my carrier now 10.0 and the others in my country is 9.0
We had the same problem, but figure out the solution.
You MUST have at least 1 song added to your ITUNE! After you add a free song, then everything else should work as normal!

Changing sim cards without losing music and video on iphone
I have an iphone 3gs, with an Australian account. I have gone on a trip to London and have obtained a payg sim card here. Before I left I unlocked my iphone with my provider and am looking to use the UK sim card. My concern is that if I change sim cards I need to restore my iphone. Does this mean that I lose my music, video and podcast files? All the originals are on my pc at home in Australia. Is there a way that I can change sim cards without losing my media files in the iphone?
thanksI too have an account with 3 Australia (now known as VHA) and am using it in Malaysia during my holidays here. Anyways to your question:
No if done properly you don't even need to restore your iPhone. If your phone is already unlocked just chuck in the new SIM card and that's it. -
After upgrading to the new iOS7, I can't send out sms, I can receive sms, can make and receive call. I have already contacted my network provider, we changed sim card, I have tried to put my sim on other phone, and it's perfectly working. Help me pls.
To be honest not being able to send or recieve messages and data is a carrier issue, not a phone issue since u said that your calls are working, if i were you my first course of action would be to get a new sim card from virgin mobile, or to restore the device as new one more time, if you restore the device as new AND get a new sim card from your carrier and those features still dont work, i would take the device to an apple store

HOW CAN I CHANGE SIM CARD TO NANO CARD?
HOW CAN I CHANGE SIM CARD TO NANO CARD?
Just contact your network provider & they will issue you with a nano sim card & transfer your phone number over to it.
I did this with Vodafone (UK) on my current sim only plan and the new nano sim card was live with my original number within 20 minutes of leaving the shop. -
HT201328 what if u don't want to change sim cards immediately?
what if u don't want to change sim cards immediately?
The SIM card when used with iPhone only contains your phone number and makes connection with the Carrier you have your cell phone account with. You can keep and use your old SIM Card as long as you don't inactivate it with your Carrier. I am on my fifth upgraded iPhone, and I am still using my Original Cingular SIM Card before Cingular bought ATT out, and then decided to change the company name to ATT. So using iPhone SIM Cards is very flexible, you decide everything.

If you enter your password on the ipad too many times and your sim card locks, is there a way of recovery without replacing the sim card?
That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

Hello guys,My first time in community.my problem is that my SIM card was working ok and from today at the left of the screen up shows that is searching for the sim.I contacted the carrier and the SIM card shows that is working.Any suggestions?
Hey NicolasZen,
Thanks for the question and welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you are experiencing issues with “No Service” or “Searching” on your iPhone. The following resource provides some great troubleshooting steps that you may wish to try:
iPhone: Troubleshooting No Service
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4429
Your iPhone may have one of these symptoms:
- iPhone displays "No Service" or "Searching" in an area of good coverage
- iPhone doesn't regain service when returning to an area of coverage
Resolution
If you encounter either of the above symptoms on your iPhone, follow these steps to attempt to resolve the issue. Test after each step.
1. Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
2. Turn iPhone off and then on again.
3. Remove the SIM card and verify that it's a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it isn't damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
4. Check for a carrier-settings update. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Then tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, iOS will ask you if you want to install it. If Wi-Fi isn't available, connect your device to iTunes.
5. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
6. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
7. Restore the iPhone.
Thanks,

The SIM card In my iPhone 5 has been giving me occasional messages that there has been a SIM Failure, there is NO SIM, or that there is an INVALID SIM. Until today, I was able to restart it with no problem and the SIM card would start up. This afternoon the NO SIM message came up and I cannot fix it. What is my next step? I am traveling in Canada now and it is not convenient to come back to the States just to get a SIM card.
Thanks,
LouHi,
Thanks for getting back to me. How can I initiate Verizon sending me a new SIM card? I will be here long enough to receive it if they can send it to me.
I have been trying to call Verizon Wireless, but they won’t take my call from my Skype account and I don’t have my phone.
Thanks again,
