  • Blackberry Calender and Email Issue

I have a Curve for my work.  We don't use outlook, and instead use two different types of systems for our email and calendar functions.  I have the phone synced to both.  I set them up yesterday and they each seemed to work fine.
Today the Blackberry keeps sending out messages about different appointments, most of them appointments that are way in the future. Two everyone whom I have a calendar connection with... Almost like it's reconfirming what's already been confirmed.  Any ideas how to stop it?

Did you change the date and time of your device?

  • Blackberry 9300 and 2012 4Runner Bluetooth marking emails as "unread"

I recently synced my Blackberry 9300 with my bluetooth in my 2012 Toyota 4Runner. The functionality is fine as far as receiving calls and emails; however, every time I get in the car with the blackberry, about 10 random emails that were already marked as "read" become marked as "unread" on my Blackberry and in my Outlook.
    How can this be fixed?

    Hi all,
I have the same problem happenning on a 2012 Toyota Rav 4 Limited, issue is really anoying when you receive high volume of e-mail like I do and be forced to go trough them to re-mark them as read once or twice a day.
To get rid of the erroneous message count the only solution that I have found so far is removing the battery from the headset. I have check with the IT crewl at the office and they do not have a clue why this happening, I have paired my BB with other vehicles (other than Toyota Brand) to see if is handset related and there is no issue.
I will approach the Toyota dealer as well to place a claim.

I've just got a Blackberry 8900 and I only seem to have a hotspot browser and not a blackberry browser and so I can't look at blackberry help!
I also can't set up my email. I only have one option and that's the "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server"
I've tried resetting in the host routing table in options but it hasn't worked. Any ideas?

@mpb1610 so your on BIS? as oppose to the threadstarter which is on BES? have you check the options in your browser and see if there is an internet browser in your options? or you only have hotspot browser?

  • Blackberry and emails

just wondering if you send and emai from a blackberry is it encrypted like a bbm ?
does the email go through the blackberry server and get encryted ?

Email messages sent between the BlackBerry Internet Service and the BlackBerry Internet Service subscriber's BlackBerry smartphone are not encrypted. When transmitted over the wireless network, the email messages are subject to the existing or available network security model(s).
When you log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service, the data is transmitted over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection.???
    Not sure what this means?
Are emails sent from my BlackBerry phone Encrypted?
BlackBerry internet service? Is that the little BlackBerry logo Icon we see on our screen in the top right hand corner?
Does that mean we have encryption when we send an email or bbm?

    Hey emma53,
    Welcome to the forums !
Are you still having this issue? If so then you may to try to back up and complete a clean reload of the device software as shown here http://bbry.lv/cG8oer. Before you restore your data test to see if the notifications are back.

  • How do I use hotmail via Blackberry services and not via phone network so not using up my data?

    Hi,
I have a new Blackberry 9360 and am having trouble with it. They said in the shop that I can access my yahoo mail without using up my 250mb of internet data, so can access it using the Blackberry services rather than the internet. I can't work out how to do this and can only seem to use the email through the internet where the messages come into my 'Messages' on the 'Home' screen, therefore I'm using up my data every time I open an email message when it comes in.
Can anyone please help me as I'm wishing I could go back to Nokia at the mo!
    Many thanks.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
They gave me the impresssion in the shop that I could access my existing yahoo hotmail, send and receive messages on it for free via the BlackBerry services and not use up my data allowance and they didn't mean the Blackberry email which is a different thing. Have they misled me with this?
    Many thanks for any advice.

  • I have one blackberry id and two blackberry's but can only receive e-mails on one device!

    Hi all,
I have a problem! I have one blackberry id and two blackberry. I have given my old blackberry to my wife.
I have just setup my new phone but whilst setting up my e-mails on my new phone we have noticed that the e-mails have been transferred to my new phone but have stopped working on my old phone.
The odd thing is my wife had a previous blackberry and we were able to both get the company e-mails on each phone.
The message that appears when e-mails have been transferred to the new phone is there is another device registered to this blackberry id and only one device can receive e-mail.
How can I unregistered my old phone from the blackberry id and re-register it under my wife's details and hopefully receive the e-mails on both phones?
Please help as its vital for the business.
    Cheers Nick

Hi woodbe and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
The BlackBerry ID is only designed to work on one device at a time. Your wife can sign up for a new BlackBerry ID by going to www.blackberry.com/blackberryid.  Also, to receive email on her device, she will have to have a BlackBerry data plan configured with your wireless network provider as well.
To change the BlackBerry ID on her device, you can back it up using the BlackBerry Desktop Software, then perform a security wipe from Options>Security.  Upon the reboot, sign in with the new BlackBerry ID, then you can restore the data using the BlackBerry Desktop Software again.
    Thanks.

    Hello ecosh,
You can't use your BBM and email using Wi-fi, unless you have an active BlackBerry data plan. May I ask, does it work before?
    Thanks.

  • BBM and Email

    Hello,
I bought a curve 9320 yesterday. Initially the BBM and email worked fine, now neither of them are working. Internet calls and texts seem to be okay....not sure how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support....something perhaps has gone wrong on their side with your account.
    Good luck!

  • P9981 issues in BBM and email

    Hello,
I have recently bought the P9981 through eBay. However, I am facing issues with BBM and emails.
After I have received the phone and I updated the BBM and the software I recognized that the BBM wasn't working although I have a BlackBerry plan with At&t that is working just fine with my old bold blackberry 9900.
I have contacted the seller and he told me that BBM wouldn't be working because there is no BIS/ BES on this device.
After I updated the BBM I am not able to access the BBM because it shows a message saying
"Cannot Set Up BBM" and other times it shows "Setting up BBM" but it doesn't set it up !
I've searched for solutions online put I found nothing.
I called At&t and make sure that everything is activated but still it didn't work.
Although when I first started the phone I was able to access the BBM however, it wasn't working when I tried adding people.
I am not sure if I would be able to make it work !
    Please advice !!
    Thank you,

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
There's nothing to add to your BB per se. Using the BB-specific services is a matter of your carrier providing those to you. And there are some things that must happen for them to do so.
Any BB can be used on any carrier that runs the same radio frequencies that the BB is capable of (and I've no idea if your's are such). But, to bring a BB onto a carrier network that they did not sell to you, there are several hurdles to cross:
    1) The carrier must say "yes" to the fact...they own their network and have every right to say what devices will be allowed to connect to it. If they say "no", then that's the end of it.
    2) You must be sure that your BB is properly unlocked from it's originally manufactured-for carrier...see this helpful thread for details:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Unlocking-your-BlackBerry-Gu...
    3) You must get all of your voice level services functioning on the carrier, before you even try anything about data
    4) You must subscribe, from the carrier, to an adequate data plan to enable the BB-proprietary services you desire
5a) If the carrier directly supports your specific model BB, then you can proceed with registering the BB onto their network, generating the proper Service Book delivery to your BB, and proceeding to function.
5b) But, if the carrier does not directly support your specific model number of BB (which, from what I can tell, the AT&T network does not automatically support the 9981), then the challenges are much greater as most carrier systems will not deliver, to the BB, the necessary service books to enable the BB-proprietary data services, even if you do subscribe to them.
So, depending on all of that, your BB may or may not ever fully function on that carrier network. It can be quite tricky to accomplish, especially if 5b applies. So take a look at all of that and decide how you wish to proceed. Most folks wind up just buying a new BB if 5b applies.
The official download portal is what I use to determine if a carrier network natively and automatically supports a specific BB model number:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
But, that should be validated by asking the carrier the specific question: "Does your network natively support the P9981 for automatic registration and delivery of service books?".
Good luck and let us know!

  • 8120 call list and email list resets

I have a Pearl 8120 and the call list and email / SMS list keeps resetting.  It's fairly frustrating since I can't retain emails for long or return some calls.
The software is up to date and I'm using Desktop 6 (just downloaded).
    Any tips would be appreciated.

    1.  First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free?
Now, leaving the device powered ON, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot. What is the File Free now?
    2. What is your Operating System loaded to your device?
Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.4.x.xxx"
    What is yours?
