My iphone 4s fell in salt water and not working. What can i do? My location is Russia. Is it possible to send my device to apple-USA for repair?

No, you would have to send it to someone you know in the USA and have them take it to any AppleStore and do an out-of-warranty replacement for $199 USD. Apple will not accept a shipment from your and the warranty is not international.
You can take it to a 3rd party repair shop and have them open it and clean it. But you need to do it quicly saltwater will very quickly damage the components without that phone.

  • Erased backup for imac and can not retrieve purchases thru apple for upgrades of lion, leopard

can not retrieve backup or time machine information for imac which was upgraded from os x 10.5 to lion & snow leopard thru apple store.  I somehow erased everything including recovery disk and when i try to upgrade it says that my imac version is too  old and needs to be upgraded to implement the new version.  However, i can not redownload any of my previous purchases or even rebuy because it my imac is back too old version.

Snow Leopard would have come on install disks, not via a download from the app store. So do you have the disks? You need to install that first before you can download/install anything later such as Lion. If you don't have the disk, you can buy it.
What year/model iMac do you have?

  • Can I retrieve contact info from a database without the BlackBerry

Here's my story---a couple of weeks ago, I dropped my Pearl 8130 into a big cup of water. After it miraculously came back to life, I decided it was high time to BACKUP my contact info... so I used desktop manager version 4.3.0.17 to do so... I only clicked on 'Addresses' which I assumed meant contacts. I kid you not---the VERY NEXT DAY, my poor BlackBerry went into the pool with me. Now, despite the fact that I just mentioned having gone swimming, I actually do not lead a lavish lifestyle... I live in the desert, and I needed to get my poor, overheated toddler into the pool asap. I do have cell phone insurance, but I don't have the $50 deductible to get a new BlackBerry. I am using a used Casio G'zOne Boulder right now. I had SO much contact info though, that I need. So, here is my question. Is there a way to convert the database (IPD File) info I saved into a word document, or some other readable form so I can obtain all my contacts?
    Thank you in advance,
    Crystal

Crystal, Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
Yes, google search for ABC Amber IPD Converter, and use that. It's not free, but the the trial software will handle limited number of records.
If you end up getting a new BlackBerry, you can restore that backup IPD file to your new device.

  • I can't restore my backup files. How can I retrieve them?

If you've ever backed up your files and been unable to access the data you know it can be very frustrating.  Often times users will attempt to retrieve their data from the discs only to find that one of the discs does not work.  At first glance this appears to mean that you can not get back to your data.  Luckily there is a workaround.
This thread applies to backup CDs created using the "backup" feature of the HP System Recovery available through the F11 menu during boot.  For more information on this feature take a look at this document.
You will need to download and install 7-ZIP.  Here is a direct link to their site.
After installing 7-ZIP launch the program and navigate to your CD drive.  You should then see a series of files named *number*.WIM.  Double click on the first of these files and it will open showing your C: drive.  You can then navigate through the files and select the ones you'd like to keep.  To keep the files simply select them and click the "extract" button at the top of the application.

  • Can't retrieve purchased music without a backup...

even though I have a reciept in my email showing that I made a purchase for a particular album. I have an order confirmation number. Can anyone verify wether or not this means that I have to purchase the album again or just enter my information and retrieve my purchase. HELP! This should not be a difficult/costly fix. Surely, if one has proof of a purchase, one can just retrieve the info and restock it in one's library without having to BUY the item AGAIN.

I have to purchase the album again
Probably. Creating the backup was your responsibility.

Apple pays a royalty for each song download, so they usually require that you need to pay as well. Click here if you want to ask anyway.

leave the phone in rice for >24 hours to see if it will recover
you can check itunes as well to see if there are backups there from the top of the screen hit edit (itunes on mac) > preferences > devices , and see if a backup is listed
also check icloud.com to see if you had any of the information backed up there (only possible if have have a 3gs or higher)
also there are data recovery companies that can recover data even from wrecked hard drives but its not cheap, if your interested in that I would say lookup a company called drivesavers, I believe they are authorized to work on even in warranty iphones
    good luck

  • Long story short, Iphone dunked in salt water

OK, I'm stuck and don't know what to do....
I'm search and rescue and were pulled a guy from the atlantic today (deceased).
He was washing up on the beach in the wave action so I had to grab him and keep him from being pulled back out.
Problem is, the wave pulled me in to about mid calf. My Iphone 4 was in my leg pocket.
It got a dunk in salt water. It was in an otter box, but a couple drips came in the headphone port.
Yup, it's dead. It started heating up so I pulled the battery after taking hte back off.
After taking the phone apart a bit more, I could see where one of the connectors had burnt/corroded.
A though drying and cleanin g and I put it back together.
    Now, nothing. Great, just great.
I try to hook it up to Itunes and it recornizes the phone!
Great I think, at least I can back up my apps, contacts, etc.
I click sync and it stops at "back up". I have a passcode on the phone and it wants it entered.
Well, no screen or touch screen because the phone is dead. Even tried tapping hte screen where teh numbers would be....no dice.
How can I backup my phone in it's current state without entering the passcode on the phone?!?
Please help, theres a lot of important stuff on my phone for my work.......
Also, once I replace the phone can I get my backed up files on to the new phone?
The original phone is a 32 gb Iphone 4 with the latest updates (5.1.1) but I'll probably have to go with the newer 4 S at a 300 dolalr purchase, a 279 dolalr buyout of my current contract and another 3 year contract....my service provider is nto willing to do anything to help me out either,
Boy that great customer servie from Bell/Aliant for a customer of 13 yearsisn't it?
Boooooo Bell/Aliant. I'm seriously considering a new provider now.....

There is nothing you can do if the phone is non-functional, which it is. If your data are backed up then they can be restored to a new phone.

Just so you won't feel bad, no one is going to help you when a phone is submerged in salt water. You might as well have hit it with a sledge hammer.

  • Minimal Salt Water Moisture - phone won't charge now... :(

    Hi there guys,
I had my phone in a waterproof 'IN DEPTH' (more like resistant) case yesterday and brought it into the water yesterday. When I took the case off I noticed some moisture in the case and on my phone. Was only slight. The phone worked untill it ran dead but will not charge. Tried to charge but got an error message.
Any Ideas on how to repair it or BIG QUESTION: Will Apple replace the phone for $199 aprox? Would be delighted if that is the case. It would soften the blow
Thanks for any help you can give.
    Cheers,
    Pat

If you got salt water inside your phone, you can kiss it goodbye. Salt water is one of the most corrosive things there are. Yes, your phone qualifies for an out of warranty replacement. Your profile says you have an iPhone 4. Cost for an iPhone 4 is US $149. US $199 if an iPhone 4S.
Make an appointment at an Apple store.

Sorry, iPhones exposed to Salt Water, are pretty much destroyed. Salt Water is one of the most corrosive elements there is.
Make an appointment at any Apple store & they will do an out of warranty exchange for US $269.

  • So my iPhone 4s got wet with salt water while I was at the beach.

I didn't turn it on after it got wet. I let it dry before I tried turning it on but it did not work. Is there a fix that I can do? Also, how can I open up my iphone? The screws on the bottom are shaped sorta like a flower.
And please do not suggest that I send it to Apple. Thank You

Do whatever you want then. It's probably never going to work again.
amazing isn't it? "hey i messed up my phone, can you tell me what to do, except don't tell me what to do". i live 5 minutes from the beach and i'm there all the time but my iphone never gets near there. not just the salt water, it's practically impossible to keep from getting sand in it.

  • What do i do if salt water gets into my iphone

I was using a waterproof case for my iphone 4 and somehow salt water still got into my iphone!!!
What can i do to help my iphone get better.
    PLEASE help.
    Thank you xx

Sorry, but salt water is one of the most corrosive things there are. Even if you successfully dry it out, it will continue to corrode. Take advantage of Apple's out of warranty replacement, cost is US $149 for an iPhone 4.

  • Z10 Can't Retrieve BlackBerry ID - Cannot backup or download apps

    Hi there,
I've googled this like crazy but havent been able to find an answer.
My new Z10 can no longer retrieve my blackberry ID. I set it up originally and it worked, I was able to back it up once and download a few apps from appworld. But since the 8th my device has stopped associating it with my blackberry ID.
    - When I try to download an app it tells me:
    - When I go to settings > BBID it just says "Retrieving BlackBerry ID properties..." and stays at the loading screen forever.
    - When I plug it into the computer and open BlackBerry Link, it will not backup because it wont associate with a BBID
I've tried restarting, I've tried battery pulls. I havent wiped because I cant backup and I'll lose all the info i've added over the last week.
    Thanks

    Hey culturist
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Are you able to access your BlackBerry ID from a computer by going to www.blackberry.com/blackberryid?
Also when was the last time you could access your BlackBerry ID?  Do you have a data plan with your BlackBerry Z10 or just connected via Wi-Fi?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • My iphone fall in salt water. is it repairable ?

my iphone fall in salt water.
    is it repairable ?

Salt water is particularly bad and will undoubtedly cause a fair a bit of damage, you could try placing the iPhone in a zip lock bag of dried rice for approximately 5 days, resist the urge to turn to it back on. There is no guarantee and it maybe beyond saving but worth a try. Unfortunately water damage is not covered by any warranty, however, I would contact Apple and consider an out of warranty (OOW) replacement. I'm not sure where you are but here in the UK OOW replacements are about £149.
