  • "The BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot connect with this device." after repair

I download the Desktop Software for BlackBerry onto my Mac Book Pro for the first time.
After installing I connected my PlayBook. I get the message "The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device."
The program suggested I repair the device software, so I did. After that I set it up and ran the updates.
When I plug it back in I get the exact same message.
    What should I do next?

I also cannot connect to my two playbooks using desktop manager on mac.
One of the two playbooks is now shipped back to rim for repair (see here http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/5MP-Playbook-Camera-Blackscreen-Errors-Ha... The issue of desktop manager not being able to connect to the playbook started with this playbook when the repair I was prompted to to stopped 1/4 way into it. Multiple retries did not make any difference.
Since then, I have tried connecting my other (functioning) playbook to the same mac but when I plug in usb cable I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg and prompted to "repair". I am definitely NOT going to "repair" this one. So I uninstalled the desktop manager and reinstalled it to see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately it did not and I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg.
If anyone has any suggestion how this issue can be resolved that would be great. I think something is stuck on the mac and is not getting wiped out when desktop manager is uninstalled. Thanks.

  • Blackberry 9900 will not connect with Blackberry Desktop (v 6 or v7). I am running Windows 7.

I am running Windows 7, and have a Blackberry Bold 9900.  This has some music on but most importantly my work diary and contacts which I synchronise through Desktop.  I also use it as an external modem and tether my PC through it if I’m somewhere with no wireless.
Yesterday, I did these things during the afternoon:
    ·         Connected a Bluetooth device to my PC (headphones)
    ·         Needed to load a series of drivers for Windows for this to work
    ·         Upgraded from Blackberry Desktop 6 to 7 (following prompt when connected)
    ·         Set up a Bluetooth connection between my Blackberry and PC.
    The next time I connected:
    ·         On The Blackberry smartphone I got the normal Blackberry is plugged in message, with normal options (USB Drive / Sync Media / Charge Only), and software opened as usual
    ·         But I was prompted to Connect Your Blackberry Device (with link to troubleshoot connection).  Clicking this, I was taken to a page which suggested I check the cable etc. (which I did, all OK) and “...turn off synchronization applications or antivirus applications temporarily”.  I disabled Avast, which made no difference, and I don’t know what a “synchronization application” is
    ·         Other aspects of the connection are working (i.e. I can still download photographs from the Blackberry, and still see it as the ‘F:’ drive)
    I therefore conclude that:
    ·         Cable / physical connection is good (also tried a different cable - no change)
    ·         Something I had changed had corrupted things, so:
    ·         Uninstalled Blackberry Desktop v7 and replaced with the version I had been using successfully until yesterday (v6)
    ·         Removed the Bluetooth connection to my Blackberry.
Made no difference, so checked Blackberry help forums, which confused me more.  One thing which I did discover, was that in Device Manager, although Blackberry is visible attached to PC (and says it is working correctly), it DOES NOT appear in the list of Network Adapters (I don’t know if it did before, but one answer in the tech forum suggested this is significant – though not sure why or what to do about it)
Any help would be very welcome – been at this for ten hours now and making no progress!
    Many thanks
    Clive

This worked for me after several hours on the phone with Blackberry Support.  I hope it works for you too:
Finally got it working again! Re-downloaded the desktop software (but when you start it up, make sure to uncheck the automatic update option). While that was downloading, I was instructed to go to microsoft.com and search for and download .NET Framework 3.5. Once you click to download that, there will be an offer to download 2 other items. One of which will be Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Web Installer). Click to download that too. Once they are finished downloading, run both files. .Net Framework 4 Client Profile will take longer and will ask you if you want to repair or remove. Choose repair. The repair took several minutes, but once it was done, I clicked "Finish", opened the BB Desktop Software, UNCHECKED THE AUTO UPDATE OPTION, and plugged in my phone. Once windows finished installing the drivers, Low and behold! The Desktop software recognized that the phone was connected! I hope this helps you resolve your issue as well. When it again offered me an update I clicked to update later (meaning never!). Best of luck to you.

  • Dg4odbc connection with Sqllite Expert Personal

    Dear All,
I have linked ms Sqlserver with oracle by dg4odbc. Now I am having other assignment to connect oracle 11 with sqlite database by dg4odbc.
During installation of Oracle Gateway  I did not find the name of "SQLite" in available component list. Is it known with different name.
Please share step by step procedure to make connection with Sqlite.
    Thanks

You want to install the gateway on the 64bit Windows platform, so you need to install the 64bit Gateway release. The first gateway version available for 64bit windows is 11.2. It does not matter if you install the base release 11.2.0.1 or any patch set (like 11.2.0.4 I provided). All versions show when you execute the setup a product in the product list called Database Gateway for ODBC. That's the product you have to install. It is the only gateway that will work for you.
When you have installed the gateway product, you only got the Oracle gateway software installed. In addition you need to get from a 3rd party vendor the ODBC driver. As you have installed DG4ODBC (64bit) on a 64bit OS you need to make sure you also have a suitable 64bit ODBC driver installed on that machine for your sqllite database.

  • Blackberry desktop software doesn't connect with address book

blackberry desktop software version 2.4.0 doesn't connect with address book on a mac os lion (10.7.4). Sync contacts not possible. Use a BB 9500 v5.0.0.841 (plateform 4.2.0.380). Any solution ?

You have both Desktop Software and Link set to open when a device is connected to your Mac. You need to go to the settings of Desktop Software (I don't recall exactly what to do but there should be some settings in the top right corner) and set it to not open when a device is connected. Once you have it set to not open when your phone is connected, make sure that Link is set to open. That should resolve your issue.
Let us know if that helps you.

    Hello !
Kindly take out your battery and do the Power restart for your device.
Once your BlackBerry Smartphone gets restarted then connect your device with USB cable with your PC.
Now open the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!

  • BlackBerry Z!0 continues to shut down when trying to connect with Wi fi

After couple of hours back and forth with Verizon and Blackberry the conclusion came that it was a software issue with the phone. My husband and I both have the Z10's. My phone connects with Wi fi no problem along with our other electronics in the house. His however, shuts down as soon as he tries to connect. We were told by Verizon that we could send the phone back and they would replace with a REFURB and also resign a 2 year contract. This is not going to happen. We would like a new phone or a way to fix the problem. But I'm assuming with the 2hrs he was on the phone didn't fix it. Anyone have the same problem with an EXACTfix? Remember, we spent an hour or more on the phone with Blackberry so we have done all the commen sense tech suggestions.
    Thanks for your help,
    Frustrated

What, exactly, are all the "common sense" tech suggestions? Did you do a security wipe on the device? Did you reload the operating system software?
To be honest, it sounds like a hardware problem on that particular device but knowing what you've already done will help determine the cause.

  • Desktop won't connect with Blackberry

I'm using Vista Home Premimum and I have uninstalled ActiveSync. I have installed vesion 4.5 (4.3 won't work. It starts and then a second later shuts down.) When I connect the blackberry to the USB port, the desktop doesn't connect with it. The computer recognizes the blackberry and device manager shows that it is working properly, but the desktop won't connect.

Although the following thread had XP as the operating system, I believe this might be a good way to isolate your problems. It resolved the problem for them. Please note StoneRivers post.

Sorry to respond that your post is vague.
Did you do a reset to factory?  It takes a day or a few days for a BB10 device to finish sync'ing and indexing and so forth after a wipe or an OS reinstall or upgrade.   If performance is subpar, give it another day to see if it improves.
On the last, I may not understand.  I believe you are saying you are connecting to the device with Link and the computer mounts  the microSD card as a drive but not the device's onboard memory.  Do you have mass storage mode enabled?   If so, disable mass storage mode and try again.

  • BlackBerry keeps beeping all time - Only beeps when the connection with carrier is active.

    Sirs,
    I have a Curve 8900 with the  4.6.1.133 (platform 4.2.0.85).
This device keeps beeping every 10 seconds, I have tried remove the battery when the BB was on, waiting for 1 minute, put it again.
    I have looked all configurations.
I don´t have any idea and want to throw it in the window.
    Any ideas? Hints?
NEW INFORMATION. The device only keeps beeping if the wireless connection with the carrier is active. If it´s disabled the beeps stops. I´m using Claro in Brazil.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I have found the solution. This is a bug beetween a software in the SIM Card from the network operator and the BlackBerry device. It´s already solved. I had to follow some steps to enable and disable a specific feature of the network operator and wait for a dialog box to confirm my operation.
The beeps comes with the dialog box, but the dialog box only apears if you are in a specific screen of the blackberry. If you are in the home screen, it will not appear and you only hears the beep.

  • Bluetooth doesn't want to connect with Blackberry 8830

I hope someone can help. I have a MacBook and a Blackberry 8830 (Curve). I gone through the Bluetooth Assistant and it shows a passkey which I've entered into my Blackberry but the computer never connects with the phone. I want to have Daylite via Dialectic to dial my Blackberry. The only time the computer shows connection to the Blackberry is when I configure the device but as soon as the configuration process is done and you click Quit - the computer disconnects from the phone.
The phone shows that the computer is a Paired Device.
    Suggestions?
    Thx.
    D

Are you using Bluetooth & AirPlay on your iPhone? AirPlay sometimes can connect you to Bluetooth stereo's.

  • Z10 stopped connecting with my Blackberry Link

I am having problems with my Z10. It suddenly stopped connecting to the Blackberry Link. This is happening with my PC and MAC. When connected with the usb that was supplied I cannot even see the driver. I just updated my phone to 10.2.0.425, Model STL100-3 OS Version 10.2.0.1791 hoping this would solve my problem but still does not. It doesn't seem to be a computer OS problem as it occurrs on either computer. My Link is the updated 1.1.1 build 33.  The cables seem to be working fine as when its connected to the AC as it charges.  My wife also has a Z10 so i've used her cables and my sons Q5 and I still have the same problem. My wifes Z10 connects fine to Link, just mine seems to have the problem. Further more when I connect my Z10 Link does not open as it usually would. This problem started about a month ago.  Please advise.

    Hey nrobinson,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
If you connect the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone to the PC without the battery does Windows detect it is connected?
    Thanks.
