Blackberry Link Backup

I have been trying to perform a backup of my device (Z10) and it seems to stall when it gets to an Android app file and never completes. Is there a problem with backing up a device with Android apps. Can you please advise how I might get around this issue. I never used to have a problem,

I have been facig this issue for last few days and it's absolutely insane to retreive my own BB Z30 backup via Blackberry Link. I beleived this is 1 User Interface which connect BB to computer (Win. or Mac or Other devices ) and make your life easy.

What does BlackBerry Link Seetings Backup save

just wanna know
what information the setting backup in blackberry link save??
only the phone setting or more??
i mean such as
contacts
messages
BBM contacts
and if yes
if i did i restore , will it replace my existing information
or will just add the old to the new?

I would also like to know exactly what is saved by the Link Backup & Restore process when only the "Settings" option is chosen.
I have been searching here on BB Support, the knowledge base etc and cannot find where this information is provided.

KEEP GETTING "Unsupported 16-Bit Application" when trying to download Blackberry Link. Im trying to sync music into my new Z10. here is the whole error message:
"\??\C:\User.....................cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows comapatible version is available
Any know how to transfer music without using this Blackberry link? Is there a quick fix to my problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just download the Link application directly to your PC, not with your BlackBerry connected.
There's no need for the connection while your simply downloading the install file.

Can't see device photos in Blackberry Link

I have tried several times to copy photos from my Z30 to my PC using blackberry link, but the photos don't display in Link. When I click the pictures icon, it says that there are no pictures in my picture library, which is not the case. I was able to complete a device backup using Link, so that feature of the software appears to be working. However, would like to be able to tranfer device photos to my PC. Any thoughts on what to do? Thanks.

Without using Link, connect yourZ30 to the PC.
On your PC, click on My Computer.
Do you see the two (device memory "flash" drive and the SD card as connected drives to your PC?

Software update by blackberry link in windows 8

Can anyone help me to sort out the software updates for my Z10 using blackberry link installed in my laptop with windows 8?
I cannot see the 'install updates' link ......!!

With your Z10 connected to the PC, and running Link, do you see the Z10 connected in the bottom of the window (it should show as a tab at the bottom of the Link window)?
If so, then at the upper right, click on the gear icon for Settings. You should see the RELOAD OS functions in the screen now.

Wifi and BlackBerry Link Synch

I think it is generally understood that there currently exists a problem whereby you can not synch media via Blackberry Link unless you first turn WiFi off on the Blackberry and then connect via USB cable. So what I am wondering is will this be addressed soon and how ? By a new release of the OS or by a new release of BB Link ? I was hoping it would be fixed today when I installed the new BB Link release but it still is an issue to be fixed.
Is there anywhere we could look to see a list of accepted bugs (known problems that will be addressed at some point). It seems to me that there are a lot of wasted cycles by every new user asking the same questions as they discover the bugs themselves. If we had such a list we would check our problems there first before making redundant forum entries.

What is your computer OS ?       What virus program do you use ?

If installation is ok you can backup much of your data but not all data untill you resolve your issue with Link.
You can backup other data that Device Manager does not with:   http://worldwide.blackberry.com/ap/protect/
which is already installed on your phone.

Z30 issues with Blackberry Link

I recently upgraded from a Z10 to a Z30.
Issue #1
When I transferred all info from the Z10 to the Z30 using Blackberry Link it changed the name of the new Z30 from the name that it came with to a name of my Z10. Is this normal? Can I change it back to the name it had originally without confusing Blackberry Link? Does it even matter?
Issue #2
When I connected my Z10 to my computer and opened Blackberry Link there was a dropdown menu along the botton of the frame and one of the choices was "back up". Now with the Z30 that dropdown menu menu box is not there but along the left side that says that my Z30 is connected and one of the menu choices is "backup and restore". Is this the same thing?

Restoring with Blackberry Link

Help please,
Moved to Blackberry Classic. I have groups setup in my contacts to do group text messages. When I back with Blackberry Link and then restore the Classic from the desktop the groups are removed.
Had a Bold 9900 with Balckberry desktop before and there was no problem with the groups staying in tack on a restore.
What I am I missing?

I understood the above from your first post, more info is needed to troubleshoot your issue so answering the questions I asked might help.

Blackberry Link - not recognizing device and does not allow synching calendar and contacts

I cannot get Blackberry Link to work properly on my laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro. It takes a very long time to open and it does not allow me to sign in saying there is no internet connection and I cannot get around resolving this issue. That is problem 1. Problem 2, Blackberry Link sometimes recognizes the device and sometimes it does not. Problem 3, when I do get Link to recognize the device, (it can backup), synching the calender and contacts on the device to Outlook does not work. I try to do a one way synch from the device to outlook and it processes but Outlook is not updated (outlook has no contacts or calendar events as I want to pull them off my device).
Any ideas? Thanks.

Has anyone ever actually got BlackBerry Link to do anything?

I have great fun wasting my evenings trying to sync music to my device.
So far I haven't succeeded, but one day I hope to be able to sync a few tracks.
I got quite excited when I saw wireless sync was available. But I'm afraid that feature is virtual. It appears only to exist in the mind of some developer inside BlackBerry.

What doesn't work, it doesn't connect to your BlackBerry?
BlackBerry Desktop Software or BlackBerry Link displays the message "Update Could Not Be Completed" ...
or How to perform a clean uninstall of the BlackBerry Desktop Software or BlackBerry Link
and then reinstall again the latest version.

It sounds like those images might have synced to your PC and are not also resident on your PC even if they have been deleted from the handheld z10.

Windows 7 crashes when using Blackberry Link

Have installed and re-installed...did successful backup and device update ....then crash reappeared...
Suggestions?

Blackberry link media sync problems

Hi Blackberry Support,
First of all, it's interesting that RIM brings a new style smartphone Blackberry Passport to gain additional market shares but the support has a structure for lifestyle people. In case of the main goal to develop extraordinaire products for business users i think is this not right way to get these customers.
Now to the sync problems, the using Plattforms are used:
MAC OS X 10.10.1
Blackberry Link Version 1.2.2 (Build 11)
Blackberry -8C40 / Software Version 10.3.0.908
Following bugs will be found:
1. to sync music from mac to passport are partly not operate (from approx. 100 titles are 60 on the device, sometimes nothing)
2. to sync calender & contacts are not operate in both ways
3. to make backups from the device sometimes operate
4. to sync videos - only self made videos operate not iTunes movies
5. the hole programm sometimes shut down by error report (Apple defect note is available)
So please give me a advise or a solution to resolve the Problems.

Hi Guys and all the customers out there,
Answering the Question after 10 days discussion to resolve the issue in case of Blackberry Link with Blackberry support is definite "NO" not at all!
5 up to 8 Support People are communicate with me in case of the issue. Nearly nobody read the informations that i get from me. Again and again they ask me the same and i repead the same question "Did you read my message" but nothing more going on. Whatever grow with an support over 140 signs platform named Twitter?!
My experiences over 4 weeks with Blackberry Passport and Blackberry Support exhibits, the device including the operating software are good. The support are not goal-directed, it is more an sorts of stall to winning time to resolve the issues in the backround. These are against the customers unfair and untransparent.
It would be better to say, yes we have problems with our link software and we will resolve it asap.
The Company spins with this politics, the costumers decline this and sell the device or changing to another system.
This is the main challenge for RIM to come back in the market!
So for erverybody, before you desides to buy a blackberry device, take a accurately view to the supportforums!
