Blackberry link OSX 1.6 Snow Leopard

Hi,
Got my new Z10. I can only download the newest version which requires Mavericks (10.7). Is there a version for 1.6 available?

Re: Q10 won't transfer all of my photos and videos Options 2 weeks ago
I have both PC and Mac Book Pro, I only use BB Device Manager on both to transfer my Media. I did install BB Link on my PC to better help at the Forum, but will not install BB Link on my Mac, as OS 10.9.4 has enough performance issues and I do not need more right now, hoping it will be corrected with Yosemite but not very confident.
That said, here is how I transfer Media, (I suggest not using Drag and Drop), you may try this way: Connect your phone, if BB Link opens close it. In Finder open All My Files, on the Side Bar under Shared (might be Media) you will see your phone listed with (example: 293-574-67-103) under that your phone will also be listed (example: blackberry f-734) if you do not see one or both right away wait, be patient, It is preferable to wait for both but after a few minutes if only one is there click on it.
Your phone files should open, open your Photos Folder, from the Finder Menu click Edit, Select All, click File, Open, should open with Preview, from the Menu in Preview click Edit, Select All, click File then choose Move To or Export (Selected) Move will remove photos from folder, Export will keep photos in folder. When moving or exporting click the drop down menus for more choices, you can even use the Side Bar for more choices also.

  • TA48312 How can I download Mac OSX 10.6 snow leopard

    Hi ,
I use to Mac OS X v10.5.8 but I want to update to my MacBook and I need to Mac OSX v10.6 snow leopard... ???

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Mac OS X Snow Leopard is not free. It can be purchased in a DVD at the Apple Online Store > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Before upgrading, make a backup of your files onto an external drive with Time Machine. After upgrading, open  > Software Update to install Mac OS X 10.6.8, so you will be able to install iTunes 11.1.4.
If you want to upgrade to OS X Mavericks, see > http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade

  • Will Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard work for a windows Computer....???

hi. i am wondering if i could buy MAC OSX 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD and put it into my windows Computer and erase windows and put MAC on it? i just bought an. HP Pavilion Slimline about 1-2 weeks ago. and it has. AMD Athlon II X2. With NVIDIA Graphics With Cuda.... Will it work??? please let em know....

Snow Leopard requires an Apple Macintosh with an Intel CPU. I doubt that even with extensive, license-breaking hacks you could get it to run on an AMD CPU.

  • Adobe CS for OSX v10.6 Snow Leopard

    Hello Mac People,
I have a late-2006 MacBook Pro which I recently upgraded to OSX v10.6 Snow Leopard. It currently has 4ram and the 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
What is the "best" version of Adobe CS for this system?  If I understand correctly, there are some problems running older versions of this software (like CS2).

I'm not sure what you mean by, "is it safe." Correct you are that the disc was intended exclusively for use with the computer with which it came.
And, you cannot install OS X on non-Apple hardware. Not only will that installer disc not work on a non-Apple computer, but it is illegal to try and use it. Such a use is prohibited by the software license for OS X.

  • HT1338 After reloading OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard iMac wont install updates

iMac wont update after reinstalling OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard

If I recall correctly the gray bar could indicate that a firmware update is installing, or that the system is checking the hard drive.
I've run out of suggestion since without the Install DVD's we can't boot the system to run Disk Utility in order to verify the hard drive. It might be a good idea to give Apple a call to see if they can help you get a set of replacement install discs.
The other option is to find another working Mac and connect the two systems via a compatible Firewire cable. Once connected turn on your iMac with the issue and hold down the 't' key in order to place the iMac into the Target Disk Mode. This should allow your other Mac system to mount your iMac's hard drive as an external volume. If nothing else it would allow you to backup your important files.

  • Installing OSx V10.6 Snow Leopard on another computer?

Can I install OSx V10.6+ Snow Leopard on this server that has windows on it, with no problem? I reffer to the CD I got with my MacBook Pro 13" OS install. Will something go wrong if I boot it with the CD?   I lost the password to it, so I hear I have to reinstall the OS, but the OSx SnowLeopard I own is the only OS I have to install on anything. Is this bootable?

I'm not sure what you mean by, "is it safe." Correct you are that the disc was intended exclusively for use with the computer with which it came.

  • Unable to change permissions on Hard Disk Drives after rolling back OSX Lion to Snow Leopard

Are you able to help me?
I had several problems with permissions and a series of other serious issues after upgrading to Lion, so I did a clean re-install of Snow Leopard 6.4 (from disk), upgraded to 6.8 and still had permissions problems which I have made worse by doing what I thought made sense - giving my administration user access to all hard disks and time machine back-ups. I emphasise "hard disks" because I have an iMac 27" i7 and 250GB Flash Drive provided by Apple where I keep OSX and aplication files.  Thus the Flash Drive (FD) becomes the boot disk, not the Hard Drive.
Changing preferences on the Apple HD (not FD) and the Time Machine Backup HD to my user name (with administration privaleges) has had the reverse effect of not giving me access to anything other than my OSX system volume on my 250GB Flash drive!  I can only see my files on the hard drives with the root user (which I have used for the first time ever to get that access).  But using the root user does NOT allow me to change permissions of either my Time Machine backup disk or the Hard drive on my iMac !  Why oh why??
Googling for solutions suggested using iRepair to change permissions but that gives me a "boing" when I try with no effect - at least a "boing" is more feedback that the Apple Finder's response to my attempt to alter permissions in the "info" window!
Oh! and of course I have unsuccessfuly tried the Disk Utility as well, which does come back with errors - that appear to be "safe to ignore" from Apple Support's website!
I originally posted a slightly different message to this one to  https://discussions.apple.com/message/16955471#16955471 because it appeared to have similar issues. It appears as if my problem is unfortunately quite unique!

So the background to this situation:
    1. The user had OS 10.6.8 installed on one volume, while his actual users home folders stored on a second volume, this is fine but can sometimes cause issues during/post upgrade to 10.7
    2. The user upgraded to 10.7 and while his home folders were still being accessed, he no longer had permission to change or modify them.
    3. The user downgraded to 10.6.4 again which broke the link for his users completely.
    4. In an attempt to change the permissions for his information he had the (common) mistake of changing the permissions of his root level of his drive, this did several things, in addition to negatively effecting his OS, it also locked the drive mount points in his (hidden) /Volumes/ folder.
    5. the steps taken to help rectify this issue:
    A. Open Terminal.
    B. TYPE:
    chmod -N /
    chmod 1775 /
    chown root:admin /
    C. Reboot computer
    D. Open Disk Utility.
    E. Repair permissions on the boot volume.
    F. Also the following commands were run on her second drive to allow him access to his stuff again:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg /path to drive/
    chmod -R 775 /path to drive/
    chmod -RN /path to drive/
    chown -R username:staff /path to drive/
Once the permissions repair is complete the Users can be readded to the System Preferences>Accounts pane and the paths to home directories located in his second drive using the "Advanced Options..." section, but due to the time the permissions repair was going to take this step will be posted tomorrow.
Also each user will require Terminal commands to make the permissions unique for each user: (this must be done PRIOR to the users being added in System Preferences>Accounts.
    chmod -N /
    chmod 1775 /
    chown root:admin /
sudo chflags -R nouchg /path to home folder/
    sudo chmod -R 775 /path to home folder/
sudo chmod -RN /path to home folder/
    sudo chown -R username:staff /path to home folder/

  • Could I still use the "find my mac"-app if I downgraded from OSX Lion to Snow Leopard?

In the beginning of 2012, I had the great misfortune of getting robbed and all my recording equipment was stolen, including my macbook pro 17" running on OSX Snow Leopard.  I was able to buy a new macbook, same as the old one, but with the OSX Lion.  It didn't take long before I noticed that it wasn't running as smooth as the previous OSX.  At first I thougt it was the hardware; Steve Jobs had just died and I thought the people at Apple felt like they could finally ditch the high standards that were once enforced upon them and go Windows on our *****.  But I soon learned it was the software.  After re-purchasing my recording-software and trying and failing to install it, time after time, I got to a point where I just wanted to smash the whole thing and throw it out the window...  Fortunately I managed to get a hold of myself.  Now, I still want to get rid of the osx Lion and downgrade, but I don't want to have my stuff stolen again at some point and then find out that not only will Apple not pay out the insurance I payed for, but also I can't find my macbook anywhere, because I don't have this stupid application anymore because I downgraded.  So, I was wondering if there's any chance to have the best of both worlds. (or the best of one world and then just the other/previous world)  The only thing that's good about Lion is the "find my mac"-app.  All the rest utterly ***** ***!!
    Sincerelly,
    a very disgruntled mac-user.

"Find my Mac" is an OS X Lion feature and is not available in Snow Leopard. So if you want Find My Mac in yor MacBook Pro you'll be stuck to OS X Lion.
I don't know what else to tell you other than consider buying Lo-Jack for laptops.
    Hope this helps!

  • Dreamweaver 8 install on Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard

    Hi all,
I have just done a fresh install of Mac OSx Snow Leopard (10.6) and am trying to install our copy of Dreamweaver 8 onto it. However I have now run into a few problems. Firstly it came up with an error message stating that some old format is no longer supported or something. I cant get the error message back up now, as now the CD will not mount within OSx!
Can anyone assist with this? Thanks.

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is once again available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

  • Today's Mac OSX Update on Snow Leopard

    Device: MacBookPro 15 inch 2007
    OSX: Snow Leopard 1.6.2
Updates: "HP printer drivers and Safari"
I just update my System and after restarting it gave me an kernel error.. after reseting the nvram and pram it worked fine again, at least till now.. I just hope for the best :)!
I just wanted you guys to know that this might happen if you update today.. or if someone faces the same issue that he will be prepared!
    cheers, Tom
    up

Did you update to 10.6.2 via Software Update or did you download the combo? If you used Software Update, get the Combo updater instead and re-apply:

  • Fixing Printing for Dell 5210n on OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard

After upgrade to OSX 10.6, printing to Dell 5210n laser printer was no longer working. Drivers are pretty old. Last ones available from Dell website are 2006 (10.4) and were apparently built for Power PC. Running driver install will not fix. Each time printing was attempted the Dell Printer Queue widget reported that: /Library/Printers/Dell/filter/pstopsprinter1 failed.
After much butt scratching and installing and uninstalling of drivers to no avail... I tried navigating to the folder to see what the heck pstopsprinter1 actually was.... novel solution!?! Turned out to be a Unix Executable File (Power PC)... and when you try to run it you get a terminal session pop up and tell you that you need to install Rosetta from the Optional Installs of the Snow Leopard disk. Do it, Restart and it works!!
    Solution:
Install Rosetta from the Optional Installs of 10.6 disk.
    Another one bites the dust......

You need to use the 10.6.8 combo updater 1.1 not the 10.6.8 delta updater which requires 10.6.7.

  • Removing Apps from OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard to make it faster with 2GB

    Hi Everybody,
I have a MacMini 1.1 that happes to have a limitation of memory of 2GB. It is siting as a Set Top Box for our TV.
I am going to upgrade from Tiguer to Snow Leopard. I know I am going to have a performance problem because of Snow Leopard using most of this memory and therefore swapping to VM. It happened to our MacBook.
Yet, as it is only going to be used as a Set Top Box, I thought I could tweek the OS to use as little memory as possible.
    I have two ideas:
    a) Remove all widgets from dashboard (I know they reside at memory and we dont need them).
    b) Remove Mail.app (I imagine it must reside too at memory, or at least some daemon of it, as it must look for mail every now and then).
Is there any other thing I could uninstall/unset so the use of memory of the system reduces to the minimum?
Came on! Enlighten me with your knowledge!!

10.6 with a full boat of App's and Games runs great on our Early Core Duo with 2GB of RAM. The grandkids and guests use for surfing, iPhoto and games, plus it has 30+GB of photos and a 100+GB of music for all to enjoy. One key thing that I did do, was upgraded it to a larger Hard Drive several years ago.
As mentioned by others, you will want to launch very little or no App's at Startup and keep an eye on how many App's are running at the same time to keep from bogging it down.
If it still has the original 5400rpm 80GB Hard Drive, the best improvement would be to upgrade it to a larger and faster 7200rpm Hard Drive.

  • I am running OSX 10.5.8 on a 2008 Imac with  Intel Core 2 duo am I compatible with OSX 10.6 snow leopard, much less Lion and Mountain Lion?

I want to link all my apple products so I can use icloud with ease but I am running OSX 10.5.8 on a 2008 imac with intel core 2 duo and not sure it's going to be beneficial or compatible. Is my desktop really just an external hard drive alreadt in 5 years? I just purchased a mac book pro 2012 and also have a 3Gs iphone I just want to have a happy apple family ; )

Your computer is compatible with all of those OSes, but may need more RAM to run 10.7 or 10.8. As the RAM requirement is the same for both 10.7 and 10.8, don't bother with 10.7 unless you're using software incompatible with 10.8.
