Blackberry Link Two Way Outlook Sync

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew the ETA on the two way syncing between Blackberry Link and Outlook. We are a small business that does not have Exchange and is not overly thrilled about cloud services. That said, all of our contacts and calendar events are synced through USB between our devices and local Outlook profiles.
Sadly, I was told that the new phones would have this capability. However, they do not. Until this software is developed and implemented, we are unable to sync our information.
Thank you for any help you can give,
Preston

No one here knows of the ETA. I hope it is sooner than later, but BlackBerry has not stated.
I'm like you and was performing the wired sync, however I have been quite pleased with the OTA sync workaround using outlook.com, it's not perfect, but it cerainly works.

  • HT1386 I am unable to get a two way calendar sync with my iPhone 4s and my mac's ical.  iTunes syncs my mac's calendar to the phone, but not the other way.  I do not use iCloud and I cannot find any menu for removing sync history as described by others.

I have spent 3 hours trying to get my ical updated on my mac with events added to my iphone calendar. Itunes will sync the calendars from the mac to the phone, but not vice versa.  I have read every post which relates to this problem, but I do not use iCloud, there is no iSync app on my mac, and there is no menu to delete sync history under system preferences.  My mac is fairly new and is running Mac OS X 10.7.4.   I tried to delete the iphone from itunes and start over, but can't even do that.   Now what?  Any advice short of throwing both devices out the window?

For resetting the sync history on a Mac running Lion - 10.7.x if needed.

If you see the Sync menu in the menu bar, skip to step 3:
If you do not see the Sync menu in your menu bar, skip to step 7.
Hold the Option key on your keyboard, then click the Sync menu in the menu bar:
if you see the Sync menu but you are unable to open it, skip to step 8.
    Choose Reset Sync Services.
    Click Reset Sync History.
Test for the original issue. If the issue persists, or if you are unable to open the Sync menu, follow these steps:
In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
    Open Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type or paste the following command on a single line:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync .pl full
    Press Return.
Quit Terminal after the operation has completed (when Terminal returns to the command prompt with a $).

A little more info would help, such as do you have a PC or Mac ?
What is your computer OS ?
Assuming you have a PC, go to Control Panel, Device Manager, see if there are any yellow exclamation marks.
If there are click the + to expand, right click the driver and choose update.

  • FIM PCNS Two Way Password sync between two distinct forests

    Hello Everyone,
i was wondering if anyone had any idea on a way to synchronize passwords with PCNS for 2 AD Forests both ways (from forest 1 to forest 2 and from forest 2 to Forest 1)
    thanks !
    Hitch Bardawil

    Hi Hitch,
There is a setting on the AD management agent that limits the number of resets that will be performed against a given target, i.e.
Specify maximum number of password changes for a 24 hour period.  You could try setting that down to 1 on both of your AD MAs so that it interrupts the looping behaviour.
You'd obviously have to test this out, and consider that if the user changes their password a second time in the same day, it won't get synchronized.  Setting the Minimum Password Age password policy to 2 days could alleviate this risk.
    Have fun testing!

  • Third Party PC Outlook Sync app, and accompanying BB10Sync PC software

    http://rapidberry.net/two-way-outlook-sync-with-blackberry-10-devices/
For above link takes you to an article that details a paid for two way sync Outlook software solution for BB10 users. I do not regard the paid for solution to be acceptable and would hold BlackBerry to their promise of a two way sync solution through link for both PC and Mac users (solution only works for PCs). Why should we pay for something that should have been available for free with the original software!
Subject Title edited to reflect new topic.

I don't think that's what you said. You said "Why should we pay for something that should have been available for free with the original software!"
You don't have to pay for something as a solution. It is a choice.
I think BlackBerry is ALREADY facing the consequences of not having had this two-way sync at the launch and outset of the Z10. There is disatisfaction and bad consumer press and I am sure it is in in someway affecting sales and/or returns.
I personally warned top BlackBerry executives two months before the launch that the the wired USB sync to Outlook was critical and leaving that feature out would result in many many unhappy customers.

  • Outlook sync problems

Hi.  I've recently purchased a copy of Office for mac, but I can't seem to get outlook to sync with my ical.  In the sync services, Outlook doesn't show up in services to sync.  any ideas?  I would have thought that this was quite a simple thing to do.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here is a KB that discusses that error:

  • Blackberry Link for Q10 with Outlook Sync has very poor performance and not good Functionality

I am wondering if anyone has tested this software. Blackberry Sync software for my previous phones were wonderful. I can sync my contacts and calender in a very short time. With this new Blackberry Link it takes about 1 1/2 hours Plus to complete. And when it does complete - it duplicates entries which I did not want.
Plus what is missing is the following:
        1. I am not able to say Update both Device and Outlook any longer. This functionality is gone.
My question: How does it do a two way sync if I only have a choice to use what I have on my phone or on outlook only
I want to be able to update my Outlook contacts with changes and addition I made on my Q10 phone and update my device with changes I made to Outlook.
Why did Blackberry remove this very flexible choice? Plus Blackberry Link has very poor performance.
I work for a large company and I do Enterpirse Software testing daily. Performance is the number one complaint for customers on top of the UI and functionality.

    Thanks for the reply.

A thing I noticed when I opened Descktop Software for the first time since the new Z30 is that the old application thinks it is looking for a Z30.  I havent even opened the application since before I got the new device.  The only way it could think I have a Z30 is if it is using a lot of the same files as Blackberry Link.   That is some pretty terrible software development practices in my opinion.  I'm going to take your suggestion and uninstall both apps, run a registry cleaner and reinstall BB Link and I bet it works a lot better afterwards.
    EDIT 12 March 2014 7PM EST
Still all of the same errors with regard to syncing outlook contacts and Schedules.  I will post all of the error messages I recieve here as I see them.  Application is always started by connecting device with USB cable.
    "Sync was unseccessful
Caught _com_error exception. Description(): Error in MAPILogonEx: MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED; Error(): -2147467259 (0x80004005); ErrorMessage(): Unspecified error; Source(): XCPCRdmptn.RdRDOSession"
    REBOOT
Change to sync contacts only, 1-way sync to computer, always use device data
    "Sync was unsuccessful
CPreferencesManager: Configuration Value for /Preferences/Account_1_65537/DevicePin not set in TransConfig.xml for translator RimBB"
    REBOOT
Application went through the whole process and hung for about 15 minutes and then completed successfuly syncing contacts only.
Change to callendar only.  Sync completed successfuly.  No hang or errors. very quick.
A new recurring appointment on the device was not transferred to the computer.
    Sync callendar again, completed successfuly.
Appointment is still not transferred to computer.
So far I've spent an hour tonight trying to sync my contacts and appointment changes from just one day.  I'm not thrilled.

  • Sync Q10 to Outlook Contacts & Calendar - Clicking on "Configure" Causes Windows to Shut Down Blackberry Link

I'm trying to sync my contacts and calendar from my Q10 to Outlook on my PC.  I have downloaded Blackberry Link and connect my Q10 via USB.  When I ran the sync it set up a new contact group on my BB in the name of my PC but doesn't copy the contacts from my BB to my PC.  I now have three contact groups on my BB (work, gmail, & now PC).
On the Calender/Contacts sync screen, under Settings, there's a "Configure" link beside both Contacts and Calander.  Saw a Youtube video that says this is where to go to set the sync to two way but every time I click on this link a Windows box pops up saying BlackBerry Link has stopped working and it needs to close.  I've deleted and uploaded Blackberry Link several tiems but it still hapens.
I have explored the solution from www.bb10outlooksync.com but there are indications that this may wipe out the contact data on the Q10 on the initial sync so not comfortable running this yet.  Having an equally difficult time trying to figure out how to backup the contacts on my Q10.
I also don't want to send my contacts to a website so looking for a USB solution.  Can anyone help with this?

I am not sure but this might help:

  • Can you sync iphone contacts with outlook two ways?

When I sync my iphone with outlook using itunes, one contact is not syncing.  The initial sync went fine but subsequent syncs deleted one contact from the desk but left it on the phone.  Is there a two-way sync setting I am missing?

    Hey Mark
    I'm Michael and I work for connex.io.
We were also constantly having problems with our address books, so we decided to build our own solution. connex.io is a service that syncs two-ways between all of your devices and services. It also de-duplicates, cleans completes and automatically updates your address books on all of those devices. So whenever you make a change on any of them, it automatically gets changed everywhere. So you only have to connect your address books once, and you will have your contacts always with you. No need to connect your device to your computer or sync manually.
If you want to check it out: www.connex.io or you can send me an e-mail if you would like some more info: [email protected]
I hope this helps you out.

  • I've got Blackberry Link installed, but I can't get my BB to sync with my Outlook contacts

I've got Outlook 2010 installed on my laptop.
Blackberry link appears to have installed properly.
When I try to sync my Q5 with Outlook I don't get any error messages, but after the process is completed I check Outlook and none of the contacts have sync'd from my phone to Outlook (but it has successfully sync'd the existing contacts from Outlook to my phone).
Edit: should probably mention that my email address is a gmail account, and most of the contacts in my BB are being pulled from my gmail contacts.  Does that make a difference?

Not sure if the above link will help, worth a look.

  • Failure to sync contacts and calendar from Outlook through BlackBerry Link after update

    Hi everyone,
I have both z10 and z30. I have been syncronizing my Outlook contacts and calendars to both of them through Blackberry Link. My z10 automatically updated several days ago and I lost everythiing on the phone including contacts, calendar, texts, phots, etc. And then the same thing happend to my z30...
Now I am trying to sync my Outlook contacts and calendars to them through Blackberry Link as I always did but it turned out unsuccessful. It stops at 'Getting status from Blackberry calendar' and it also pops out a message saying 'BLACKBERRY-7D1B Sync was unsuccessful. An error has occurred during an attempt to access to device data.'
I already tried to reinstall Blackberry Link and reset my phones but neither of these worked out.
    Please help. Thank you!

This is exactly what I am dealing with. Blackberry Link will work great for awhile and then something happens and I can not sync my contacts. I have spent many hours and days trying to fix this to no avail. BB support has been great but I still go through a long process each time. This week I finally gave up and started using the Microsoft Hotmail Outlook Connector since my company does not offer Active Sync or Exchange. It works flawlessly. I would dedfinitely check it out. If you swith to a Widows Phone or Android this is one of the options they recommend you use.
In a nutshell Link is awful and BB should be ashamed of the product they put on the market. I will only use it for syncing pictures and documents. Good luck!

I would love that feature. I can't stand useing my computer with a single wall paper anymore (I have 500 anime pics that i rotate between every 2 mins ) If you could make the vision rotate background every x minutes or every time the player is turned on, it would be totally amazeningly sweet!!!! (i might have to go out and buy one then :P)
I just hope that creative has better firmware support with the vision than they have had with the touch.
    Once again, great review

  • How do I set up itunes sync with outlook to "replace information on this iphone" only? I do not want to do a two way sync.

I am tired of fighting sync incompatibilities between Outlook 2007 and I Tunes, and no longer want to do a two-way sync.
I still want my Outlook contacts and calendar on my iPhone and use advanced setup in iTunes to "replace information on this iPhone" only.
iTunes only offers the ability to do this on "the next sync only". Is there a way to set up iTunes to "replace information on this iPhone" every time I connect my phone?

    Hi there Greg,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to always replace content on your iPhone 5S with content from Outlook on your PC, to do this you’ll just have to Reset the Sync History in iTunes as shown below.
Troubleshooting Sync Services on Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010 - Apple Support
    To reset sync history:
    Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button.
If the issue continues and you know all of the data is on the computer:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
    Click Apply.
    Cheers,
    -Jason
