BlackBerry Maps Denmark

I just got the Z10 phone, and I really really love it. One thing I hate about it though, is the lack of map data for Denmark. The maps app is useless here in Denmark. So when do you guys roll out an update to get full map in the app? There isn't even an alternative app in BlackBerry World.

OK, I understood Denmark was covered in BlackBerry Maps, sorry.
I see Denmark specifically stated as a covered country, here:
http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/20079177/?countrycode=US
In your BlackBerry World, could you please search "maps", I do see several free and paid mapping applications, which state all countries and all carriers.

  • Problem loading BlackBerry maps

    Hi.
I've only just bought my 8800 and it's driving me crazy. It was supposed to be loaded with the maps, but wasn't. I tried downloading them from the BB website, but got the message that no BlackBerry device was found. This was despite the desktop manager telling me that I was connected. After trying different USB ports on the computer and still getting no success, I tried the same thing on my laptop. I again received the same message that no BlackBerry device could be found, even though the desktop manager was again telling me that I was connected.
What do I do? Please help.

    Hi,
The Blackberry Maps program only works in certain countries - other countries just show a blank  "green/grey" screen. if you zoom out to max you can se the map of the world...
To download maps, you need to have a Working Blackberry Data connection.
Do you get emails to the handset using BIS or BES?

  • BlackBerry Maps on Torch 9810

I just upgraded from a Torch 9800 to Torch 9810. When I open BlackBerry Maps I shows my current location but the BB button the return key don't do anything. On the touch screen the search and Get directions don't do anything either. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it using BB Desktop and it is the same no change.  The only thing I can do is press hang up to get out of the app. But the app stays active. I can see it on switch applications and there is no way to close it.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not sure if that's a common problem or not but because it's obviously a software glitch, you should try a battery pull if you haven't already.  Battery pulls are recommended quite often in these forums because they do wonders at solving many minor issues.  So with your phone powered on, go ahead and remove your battery.  You can then put it back in a few seconds later.
Let us know if that helps you.

  • An Update for BlackBerry Maps is Seriously Overdue

I've been with BlackBerry 10 since day one with the Z10 and I've noticed that the BlackBerry Maps app never really gets any love. This is a bare bones app that has still not gotten the update it needs and I believe many of us feels it is time.
It seriously needs public transit directions and schedule updates and incorporating nearby POI when asked (much in line with what the BlackBerry Assistant does). I'm personally not a person who drives and prefers transit and I find this really frustrating not to have such a great feature built into this app.
The option to view in satellite and and a hybrid of the satellite and standard map view is also important.
Performance updates is needed as it is taking longer than usual for the app to load due to 10.3.1.
Please update the app soon if you want to attract more users.

I've used BeMaps Pro, Google Maps and Blackberry Maps in tandem at one point, but I just don't get why Blackberry doesn't do what Apple did for iOS, Nokia with Windows Phone and Google for Android. It's a native app and a no-brainer that should come standard on any smartphone eco-system!
It shouldn't be hard to provide an update these days, I mean, Blackberry should be able to figure it out why it hasn't been able to attract more new users and actually RETAIN them.
I get the fact that the bottom line for Blackberry is corporate base and security, but to really get them locked in, the native experience is really what matters the most. A user shouldn't need to rely on several apps just to do one thing. I'd say re-invest in TAT and Blackberry World, make it attractive and maybe even make it into a cash cow too.
I find Blackberry Maps more reliable than Google Maps, but am hesitant to say 100% simply because Blackberry Maps feels like Google Maps lite and so does other apps. I don't want to sound like a whiny fan, but please, the phone is supposed to make your life easier, not harder.

  • Urgent question about blackberry maps

    Hello All,
I need help in Blackberry maps, If I click on the blackberry map anywhere, can we get the coordinates for the clicked position? Also can we get the geolocation information(street name etc) for the clicked position programmatically?

Actually what we are doing is converting Oracle Forms code into java code and i cannot open and change the code that is being called by the User_Exit built-in.
So i want to know is how i can still keep the same functionality, without changing the Pro*C code into java, or some other native code.Since what you have in hand is an user exit I dont think you can use it straight away from Java Forms unless you do not have any Form specific things.
In User exits we can do thigns like getting and putting values from/to oracle forms items and there are also provision to pass error and other related information between the forms and user exits.
this is actually accomplished by having some internal API's ( these are invoked by the user_exit builtin in Forms) in Oracle Forms. And this is predefined and there is nothing much to know how this functionality works. And Oracle itself does not support User exits( if there is any interaction with Form) in Oracle Web Forms. And user exit has many Oracle specific libraries linked to it during compilation.
Knowing this you should first know whether your user exit is Oracle Forms Dependent. If it is I think you dont have much options than rewriting your user exit.
On the other hand if it does not , then I think you can easily get rid of the error and other handling information( if present in the user exit )and recompile it as a standalone Pro*C executable and the call it natively since it is noting but a C program in the compiled state.
OK but regarding the connection you have to go back to Java and ask whether there is way to pass a conection context to a native C program( dont mention Proc or Oracle Forms here)
So start finding whether your exit is Oracle Forms dependent. If not you can take it easy except for the connection thing which I am not . But if it is dependent then I think u have to start rewriting.
    Good Luck

  • Blackberry Maps & UK Post Codes

I'm struggling to  make the most of Blackberry Maps on my 8520.
When I try to search for an address using a post code, it only recognises the first 4 or 5 characters depending on whether its a 6 or 7 figure post-code. So when I try to put in my home address it locates a place 3 miles away from where I actually live.
When i try to enter town and county I keep getting a message saying they are not recognised.
I have only managed to save my location by manually finding it on the map.
Any advice please - and is there a Blackberry Maps instruction manual anywhere??

  • Blackberry maps route

    hello,
i use blackberry maps on my 8310 curve. if a choose route everything is fine until my route has nodes with special chars like äöü or ß in it like böhmissche straße or berlin-neukölln. these are correct in the xml-file (that i see if i use the simulator, extract see below)

Here is one way to do it.
Search on the address or touch location on map. Tap to get place details. Tap 3 dot icon bottom right. Tap plan route. Tap the reverse route icon. Tap My Location. Enter search term or address.....
I don't see an easier way to do it.

  • How can I download Blackberry Maps in my 8800?

It appears that my Blackberry 8800 device did not come with the pre-loaded Blackberry Maps, as I cannot activate the Maps (GPS) or find the Maps in the Service Book list. Is it possible to download the Maps into my phone? If so, how do I do it? I contacted my service provider (Thailand) and its technician advised me to wipe out the device and reinstall the applications from the CD rom included in the product package. I am wondering if there is an easier way to download the Blackberry Maps. Please advise.

Hello RtawaiSteve and selcome to the forums!
You should be able to get the maps application on yoru device by going to the below link from your device
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/features/blackberry_maps.jsp#tab_tab_overview
Once you are on the page you should see a Download BlackBerry Maps now option.

Last I read, no BlackBerry Maps is not available in India
And the data source is actually TomTom, not Google Maps.
I'd recommend you use Google Maps, personally, they are a bit more flexible and feature-rich than BBMaps.

  • Blackberry Maps for 8900 Curve

    Hello,
I am having trouble getting the BB Maps to work.  After downloading the file from BB site When I finally got the icon on the device and I try to launch it I get the message:
"Error starting net_rim_bb_lbs:  Module 'net_rim_bb_lbs' does not match codfile timestamp of sibling module 'net_rim_bb_lbs-1'"
    Some Information about the system:
I do have a data plan
I have 2 instances of the BlackBerry Maps in the applications list (lbs1.2 and 4.6.1)
I do have the service book for BBMaps  (BlackBerry Maps - EU [LbsConfig])
    I am using DM 4.7
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the BBMaps application with the DM a few times. Always with the same message as above.
    Help me find my way!
    Thanks
    Shawn

Tm2022, AT&T disables the BBMaps icon.
    Try this trick I found:
Go to Options > Screen/Keyboard > either Right or Left convenience key.
Now select right or left and set that to BlackBerry Maps. Do you have that choice?
