Blackberry Maps only partly works; some features not working at all.

I have a new Curve 9360 to replace an older Curve model. Used the BB Maps app a lot for driving directions, etc. while traveling. On my new one, the Maps app loads fine and shows my current location fine. But a couple critical functions don't work at all. Anyone help me out here?
Get Directions
When I select Get Directions, nothing happens.
I should be able to enter Start and End locations, but the selection / entry screen fails to appear.
Favourites
When I select Favourites, nothing happens.
I should be able to open my list of favourite locations, routes, etc., but the selection screen fails to appear.
I've already tried removing and re-installing Maps - didn't help any. Any other ideas, thoughts, suggestions???

Well what are you expecting those keys to do? They have very limited functions in the OS and only some keys work for doing certain things in certain programs.
That is one reason Apple and makers of Windows PC notebooks program them to do Add-On feature things like raising and lowering screen brightness or sound volume.
You can Program the function keys to do certain things in the Keyboard Applet under the Keyboard Shorcuts tab. But most built in functions using the function keys also use another modifier key like the Command/Apple key and the Option/Alt key or the Shift key.

Blackberry Maps doesn't work at all

HI, Blackberry Maps doesn't work. It doesn't Find my location. trying to get BB Maps to work on my Q10-nothing seems to work. On the BB Maps, when I enter the 2 locations for directions, I get the following message: "The beginning of your route is too far away from a road. Proceed to nearest road and try again. (3003)." The first time I got this I was ON a road, pulled over, trying to get directions. It has never worked. I do get the blue dot telling me where I am, so I think the GPS function is working. Someone could help me?

Something sounds quite wrong...if you have already done the obvious things (reboot, updated OS, updated app, etc.), then I'd recommend you seek formal support. That is available by contacting your mobile service provider, your original place of purchase, or an authorized service center -- it varies by region and issue. Since it's a BB-developed app, you need this formal support, and only they have the power to escalate your case up to BlackBerry for their attention.

I have downloaded a trial version of Dreamweaver CS6 to my MacBook. Why do some features not work? I have OSX 10.6.8. I am using this trial version for a class I am taking on coding webpages using Dreamweaver. there are features I am using in class that will not open up or appear as options when I use the trial version. Are certain features locked out until I buy a copy or download a purchased copy?

Trial versions have no functional limitations, though your setup/situation might not be supportive of all functionality. You'll need to identify specific issues to get help with them. You should be posting in the DW forum instead of here if your issue does not have to do with downloading/installing.

Hello?I've SoundBlaster audigy2 zs that work fine for karaoke, recording on window xp. I've another pc that have window vista. I download this soundcard dri've for window vista from creative.com . However, some features of soundcard are not work as same on window vista. For example:- Can't launch EAX console- Creative surround mixer do not have all option to select especially Microphone?EAX console and Surround Mixer are 2 tools I used the most for recording music, sound ( karaoke)However this function work on XP but not on Vista. I'm going crazy on this, I have a long story of self built computers too...
Audigy 2 ZS "correctly" installed, but drivers details on "mixer", "midi" and all the codecs details are "installed but not working correctly".
I'm going to format and reinstall everything to see if it's due to previous drivers for an "onboard" sound card

i'm not sure if there's any suitable cooling pads for your computer but cleaning the fan could be another solution. it may work but it may also void your warranty.
due to it's probably hardware issue, at this point i don't think i have much suggestions for you.

Yamaha RP-U200 only partly working under Leopard

I had been cheerfully using my Yahaha RP-U200, a USB sound output device, for audio output on my macintosh under Tiger. It was recognized by the Sound Preference pane without problems. However, under Leopard, I find that only the sound input features of the unit are supported. It is no longer listed under the Sound Output part of the preference pane. Why was the support for the sound output for this unit removed from Leopard? Am I doing something wrong? Please advise how to correct this problem.

10.5 is a very different operating system, with no guarantees that your device will be supported.
Did you do any testing or check Yamaha's site for info on 10.5 compatibility ?

I want to sync only SOME videos, not ALL... is there a way to do it ? i tryed to did a "smart folder" with iPhoto, for select last 6 months videos, but when i try to sync to iPhone, it doesn't sync none video, the only way is selecting "incude videos" (but i wont want to, because it will sync ALL videos, i only want some of them)

Some features not available to Automatic User

We have 2 new macs running Leopard and are having the same issue with both. As the default automatic user, some features are not available. For example, the eye icon for QuickLook does not appear in any of the windows, such as the Finder. In Mail, the stationary button does not appear. If I create a second user (I also gave it admin privileges), both these features show up just fine. Has anyone else noticed this or is there a fix?

Did you upgrade from Tiger? If so, the default user is not really a member of group 'Staff', so Finder doesn't get the default Tool Bar. Just CtlClick on the Finder bar and select "Customize Toolbar", then add the QuickLook icon.

Some features not accessible when menu bar is turned off

Have you noticed how some features aren't accessible if you turn off the menu bar. e.g., History > Reload all windows from previous session. There's a "History" item in the "mini menu" but it just opens the history window. This seems like poor design.

I just found out even with the menu hidden I can still access it by hitting Alt+<menu letter>, e.g., Alt+i for history. Or just hit Alt to show the menu.
On the Mac, I guess that would be the wiggly key or whatever you call it.

Display only part of the STRING field, but search ALL field

Hi all,
I have a field VARCHAR2(4000) that holds a lot of text.
When I make a report in APEX, it shows in each row, ALL text, so the report is very "ugly".
I want to limit the display of that column for only the first 60 characters.
I tried to use the SUBSTR function, that worked, but the search option will search for the text only in that 60 lenght characters, and will now search in the rest (not displayed) part of the field.
Is there a way to do this full search and display only part of the field?

You can have the 'substring' column displayed to the user, but have another column which shows the full text lets say it has an ALIAS of "*SEARCH_LARGE_TEXT*" in the report definition(and is among the displayed columns).
You can hide the large text column(SEARCH_LARGE_TEXT) using JS as
$('th[id="SEARCH_LARGE_TEXT"],TD[headers^="SEARCH_LARGE_TEXT"]').hide()
Note: ^= syntax used to match data column even when break formatting used
You can make sure that the column stays hidden even after an IR filter or refresh by binding it to the refresh event of the IR by
$('#apexir_WORKSHEET_REGION').bind('apexafterrefresh', function(){
$('th[id="SEARCH_LARGE_TEXT"],TD[headers^="SEARCH_LARGE_TEXT"]').hide()
change the string "SEARCH_LARGE_TEXT" with your column's alias

IPod Touch iOS4 update - some features not working

While I was updating my iPod Touch with the new software, and error came up in the middle of it but it was at the part where it was resyncing all applications, music, and movies. I am able to use some of the new features including the app folders and making playlists, but not others like changing the home wallpaper. Is there a way I could redo the software update on my iPod to get the features I'm missing? (I already restored it but it didn't help.)

Search Feature in Mail only partly works

Good day,
I have two questions today
1. when I search for a specific sender in my mail for Mac software I doesn't find or rarely finds any of the received messages, basically the search feature FROM doesn't work. When I switch FROM to ALL it will only show my sent messages.
Which setting can I update to fix this?
2. What do I need to use if I wish to search for two words in Mail without seeing results for each individual word?

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
          Envelope Index
          ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Typically, the process takes a few minutes, but it may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. In that case, you may be able to speed things up by temporarily adding your home folder to the Privacy list in the Spotlight preference pane. Remove it when Mail has finished importing.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Synchronization only partly working

Synchronization between my BB Storm and PC is only working for Calendar, and Contacts but not for Tasks or MemoPad. I've checked the obvious - syncronization settings - but am getting the following untraceable (for me anyway) Error Message "Connector Specific Error". Has anyone else experienced this or know of a way I can correct?

Only part of some clips show up in Viewer. Please Help!

Hello FCE4 Experts:
I'm soooo baffled! I've been using FCE4 for three years and haven't had a problem. All of a sudden, a biggy! When I drag a clip into the Viewer window and play it, only a part of the clip has anything on it (the rest is black and silent). For example, a clip might be 25 seconds, but for the first 10 secs, I get just black, and for the last, say, 4 secs I get black. This has never happened before, ever! Anyone have any ideas?
The ONLY thing I've done different lately is that I recently purchased a second external hard drive and have been switching between them for different projects. Could this cause a weird problem like this, or is it due to something else?

UPDATE!
I've checked it out further, and here's what I've discovered:
When I ingested segments of my clips (not directly from my camera, but rather from a DVD back-up disk... which is what I did in this case), it seems that the segments do get ingested in a useable form, but along with each segment comes long periods of black/silent video. Weird!
So, my guess it that, when I'm ingesting only short segments of my clips, I'll need to do it directly from my camera.
FYI: I can ingest the FULL clips (from the DVDs), no problem. It's when I ingest segments of the clips (from the DVDs) that I get weird stuff going on. [And, ingesting from the camera works fine whether I ingest a full or partial clip. It's only when ingesting from back-up DVDs that I have any problems.]
Anyways, that's what seems to be going on. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear 'em!
