BlackBerry Messenger and Mac
My Father has a blackberry and he sent me a link to download the blackberry messenger so we can talk via my computer and his blackberry, but you can only download it with internet explorer, and I don't have that on my Mac, obviously, so does anyone know any other way to get that same program, or one that will work, on my computer?
Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly but from what I get Blackberry Messenger is a IM client for the phone itself and not a chat client for the computer. You however will need IE on Windows because it uses Active-X controls.
Your Father should be able to install it directly to the Blackberry (by choosing the correct client you want to use as a chat platform ie. Yahoo, Google Talk, AOL etc.).
At least that's what I understand it to be. It's for his phone. You shouldn't have to download anything unless you want to use a chat client you don't already have.
Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I recently purchased a BlackBerry Storm and I had some questions about it working with my Mac. I noticed in the support pages that I would have to update my OSx 4.5 to OSX 5.0 or something higher in order to use the software to be able to get my Itunes on my BlackBerry. I am willing to do that. It's not that expensive but I want to know that if I do that, will that take care of some issues I am having. Pocket Mac does not work for me. If I run OSX 5.5 and above will that take care of the problem and allow me to sync my Mac and BlackBerry? Will I be able to run the program that allows me to put my ITunes on my BlackBerry? Right now I am running version 10.4.11 on a Power Book G4.
I love the phone and am still getting used to it and all the features.

Paid for iTunes will not (those purchased iTunes). You can remove the DRM from the purchased iTunes and they will work fine on the BB.

Blackberry messenger and internet
hello
i am new to using a blackberry, i am on pay as you go on orange so how would i get blackberry messenger it is already installed but i think it needs activating but not sure. Also how do i access the mobile internet, i can only get on it when connected to my home internet

With hundreds of carriers in the world each with dozens of different data plans, it's impossible for us to answer what services you should or should not have. But, typically, Pay-Go plans don't include the services you are attempting to use. But, only your carrier can answer for sure. Contact them.

Blackberry Bluetooth and Macs don't mix
One of the best features I had with a Nokia smartphone was how effortlessly it would sync with my bluetooth macintosh using iSync. Just absolutely painless.
The Blackberry Pearl has bluetooth -- but it won't communicate with a Mac with either Missing Sync or PocketMac. This seems such a natural fit (yes, even if one is supposed to use USB to keep the BB charged).
RIM -- there is so much potential here. Please don't let the opportunity go by.Its true, Bluetooth communication with Pocketmac and BlackBerry isn't currently supported. As you say, it'd be nice if that'd change in the future. Honestly, I'd be suprised if it didn't.
I have talked with Mac users who have had sucess transfering thier Address book to the Mac, but bidirectional communication generally dosn't work. -
Can anyone explain to me what I am doing wrong. I cannot get Blackberry desktop manager on a mac to populate my ICAL application on my mac with the events from my blackberry calendar. It used to work fine with PocketMac, except it often doubled up all of the events.
I select the calendar I would like to be synced, It says it is done, no errors. but my ICAL never gets any of the dates. I am debating going back to pocketmac, even though it often doubles up all my contacts often.
IS this just an issue b/c I have an 8330, and its an older model BB? I love my BB but I am in real estate and need my contacts and calendar to be synced throughout all my devices
If you can help I would greatly appreciate it.
JoshMy client is having precisely the same problem with the Blackberry 8330. She can't get calendar events that have been created or added on the Blackberry device to sync to iCal. It seems that calendar events created in iCal on her computer to sync to her Blackberry device properly.
Any help is appreciated.

im using a blackberry bold 9000 and a mac laptop, i used to be able to sync all my data but i upgraded my bb tru windows. after that i can't sync the bb to my mac already. pls help. what will i do?

Could you please try the steps listed below in order to resolve your issue:
- Try rebooting your Mac and ensure that you log in with an account that has full admin rights.
- Open iTunes on your Mac and accept any license agreements if prompted. Also please ensure that you have at least one playlist in iTunes with at least one song in it. This is required in order for PocketMac to function properly.
- Make sure you don't have any other sync software installed on your Mac such as Missing Sync or Blackberry Media Sync etc.
- Try repairing disk permissions by going to Macintosh HD\Applications\Utilities\ and running the Disk Utility application. Select the Macintosh HD and click Repair Disk Permissions. This process may take a few minutes. After repairing disk permissions, try synching again.
- If fixing disk permissions doesn't work, can you try synching one PIM database at a time e.g. just Contacts by itself? This will determine if the issue is being caused by a particular database. If you find that you are getting the message on one database only, we would recommend clearing the affected database on the device using the Data Purge utilty and then clearing the sync history on the Mac using Sync Clean. Please note, this will delete all the entries on your Blackberry, however once the entries on your device have been deleted, you can reimport the data from your Mac back to your device. To run Data Purge and Sync Clean, please follow the steps 1 and 2 listed in the article below:

After you complete these steps, please configure PocketMac to do a one way sync from the Mac to the BlackBerry (choose the overwrite device option in Advanced Preferences). If the sync is successful, reconfigure PocketMac back to doing a 2-way sync.

Locked Out of Blackberry ID and password Please Please Help
I updated my blackberry messenger and its asking me for my id and password I have tried doing another ID but its not letting me do anything now my messenger has gone and I have tried accessing my app word but it keeps saying that I am locked out for security reasons so there is no way I can access bbm or my app world could somebody help me please. I would like to seek assistance in resolving an issue with my BLACKBERRY TORCH 9810 I installed the new version of BLACKBERRY MESSENGER on my phone and it does not work on WIFI ONLY MODE.
For example I traveled to Mexico and Panama and was on a WIFI ZONE with open access and tried to use my BLACKBERRY MESSENGER and it did not work...I tried to deleting the application and installing a previous version but was not possible. The same issue occurs on a different BLACKBERRY phone that it was working perfectly...but after updating to the new version of BLACKBERRY MESSENGER it did not work.
Please help me resolve this issue.

Why can't I open my BlackBerry Messenger?
I'm having this problem with my BlackBerry. I don't know why I can't open my BlackBerry Messenger. I've tried to plugged out the battery and put it back in but still, I can't open my BlackBerry Messenger. So I did it repeatedly but I can't still open my BlackBerry Messenger. I read all about it on the internet and all they suggested is to back-up the BlackBerry Messenger contacts and upgrade the BlackBerry Messenger. I'd like to do that but how can I back-up my BlackBerry Messenger contacts when I can't even open my BlackBerry Messenger? So I tried downloading the BlackBerry Desktop Software. I connect my phone to it and I clicked on "Back up now". And now it's saved in my documents. But my question is, now that (I think) I've backed up all of my data, can I delete my BlackBerry Messenger and install/upgrade it and still have all my contacts? PLEASE REPLY ASAP.

BarCode on Blackberry Messenger will not send
Hello,
I have a new Bold 9700, My Carrier is AT&T, I downloaded the latest version of the Program,Blackberry Messenger, and for some reason the Barcode will not send, it sends the little blue man.
I did what I am supposed to do, the Barcode shows in the upper left hand corner next to my screen name, however it will not send or show to the other person who has Barcode as well.
When I am messaging the Barcode Shows in the upper left hand corner however it wont send.
Could someone help me with this.

BlackBerry Messenger - Share Prompts
Hello All,
Sorry if this has been answered before (i have done quite extensive searching on it).
Awhile ago I installed the new BlackBerry Messenger and created a group. I am also using NotifyLink to import my calendar from work into my bb calendar. However, everytime a new even comes in bb messenger prompts me if i would like to share this item with the group.
Some times there are 20 or more items that come in.
My question is there anyway to turn this so called "feature" off?

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
1) Register HRT

2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your wireless service provider for formal support.

Hi, i recently got the new curve 9320 and updated my blackberry messenger and after resetting my phone all my bbm contacts display pictures are blank and when shortly before they all had pictures, i have no idea how to get their pictures back and how to get y picture to appear. any solutions?

There's a correlation between the amount of device memory on a device and amount of Group pictures saved. Your's is 40.
Newer devices like the Storm2 and 9700 will save 80.
