Blackberry, new firmware.. Where to put in requests?

Where can I put in requests for new firmware functions?
I'd love to be able to load a webcal calendar from my job's mail system unto the Blackberry, but we don't use exchange right now and the only way to do it is to go through Google Calendar (i.e. forego completely the "This data belongs to the company" concept).

Here is my opinion, for what it's worth:
Of the three items to occupy your money (CPU, RAM, storage), I would definitely rate CPU last.
I would almost certainly rate RAM first.  The only exception would be if you are very close to using all your storage space, or run the risk of using close to storage capacity while you own the new machine.  Personally, I'm on top of housecleaning to make sure that never happens.  If you are the same way, then definitely spend your money on RAM.  Otherwise, consider a storage increase.

  • Where to put feature requests?

    Hi!
Just wanna ask if somebody knows where I can send my feature requests für iTunes. It is simply anoying when told that a file can't be found in the location where the library was told a file is saved. When I wanna see where it iTunes is looking for the file, I only see: "nicht verfügbar" (in English: "not available").
Or is there an other way to see the last known location of the file?

Hello there, am new here and very stressed, i have an Imac core i3 which is logging off itself after a few seconds of login, it goes back to the login menu where i put the password. I have tried to repair the os but my pioneer rom is not reading the disk. I press the :c" button on startup but its not picking up the disk in the rom, i have tried to put the disk in an external rom but same answer, am starting to think that my os disk is bad. Please help me.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

No you will not lose any data. However a pop up will come up telling you if you want to sync with this computer, and that if you do, that it will erase the data. Just click "No" and you can still update your phone. I've done this a few times.

  • New Firmware for Zen. Where is

I remember during Christmas Break, when I first got my Zen (8gig, now upgraded to 6), I saw new firmware updates every week. Its been nearly 4 months without a firmware update. I liked the new features they kept adding, but stopping suddenly at only copying items in my SD card to my Zen and seeing ONLY my photos is NOT the best Creative can do. I love my Zen, but surely, someone in Creative's team can fix something about the Zen freezing (you know, fixed by using the paperclip reset ) or add more SD card functionality

"...any update would probably affect millions of Zen users..."
Not if they chose not to install it.
Re the integrated SD question. I don't know if it's deception, per se, but it kinda felt that way to me too. I don't think its an unreasonable expection that that you would be able to access the stuff on the card through the regular menu (music, etc.). I've seen a variety of players with expandable storage and Creative's is the only one I've seen that keeps the card memory separate. It's just different, and not what many people expect.
Another thing that is different and unexpected about this player is the faulty "resume" functionality. Oh, it will remember where you left off all right, and start there the next time you turn on the player, as long as the next time isn't more than 2 hours later. Overdri've media includes the Zen on its list of compatible players (one of the reasons I bought it), but it's only compatible in the sense that it will play the DRM WAV files. This flaw in the resume function and the fact that a bookmark loads only the single file containing the bookmark, i.e., it doesn't remember that the file you bookmarked is part of a playlist, makes it a frustrating experience.
I know most people use the player for music, but the audiobook & podcast world has been getting more popular for the last several years, and it would seem like Creative would want to to take those uses -- and users -- into consideration when designing firmware for their products. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to return Zen in favor of the **other mp3**, but I certainly won't recommend it to anyone if they plan to use it for anything other than music.

  • RE1000 WPS BUG - Request New Firmware

I have noticed that when I turn off WPS in the extender, I can connect to the extender but only for 3 mins, then it connects back to the router.
I think we all need a new firmware with this bug fixed.

I am seeing this issue as well on 3 RE1000 units. We should be able to disable WPS without causing the RE1000 from losing connectivity every 40 seconds or so. The loss of connectivity only lasts about 3 seconds but that is disruptive to the functionality of the extender. I am using hardware version 1.5
    Firmware
    02/13/2012
    Ver.1.0.02 (Build 1)
Is there an updated firmware to resolve this issue? If not I will have to return these units

  • Where is my n73 new firmware update

i heard that new firmware for n73 was released from nokia (V4.0723.2.0.1/06.06.07)and i tried to update my n73 firmware, but my NSU keep telling me that i already install latest firmware and i check on my phone, but that too disappointed that my n73 still not up to date (V3.0704.1.0.1). I want my n73 firmware to be update. It's not fair to users like me.
I hope nokia will overcome this problem.. I want my n73 firmware to be update.

Hi rouin - Although Nokia has released an updated firmware for the N73, it will only be for a certain product codes (you can find your product code under your battery compartment).
If you received your phone as part of a contract then your phone will be tied in to that network operator - e.g. Vodafone, Orange and so on. If this is the case then you will have to wait until they authorise the release of the firmware for the N73 - there's no way around this unfortunately.

  • Missing tracks with new firmware 2.11

I'm guessing that I can't be the only person on here who has had trouble managing the music on their Zen Touch after upgrading to 2..0, but I can't find any posts that mentions it. IMO the new firmware is terrible in the way it changes the way Mediasource shows the music on your player and even if you use Windows Media Player or the Windows Explorer type utitily the system of folders is rubbish as well.
Has anyone had issues with whole albums missing or ID3 tracks not showing correct information since moving to the latest firmware? When i connect my player to my PC I have a few albums which show on my PC as being on the player but when I'm using the player regularly when I'm out and about the albums are missing.
One other request. Can you guys tell me how you are transferring music to the player now? I would be interested to know if you do it through Mediasource or via copy and paste using explorer? If you do the latter where exactly do you put the music? Do you put it in the music folder under "media", and also do you put the artist folder in there or just dump the albums in there?

I could not believe how much of a **bleep** up the team at Creative had made upon installing the firmware update. Im not at all happy with the fact that it is not reversable either... It really blows ey mate?

But only in app store when I choose download the new release of a app, it request the password of the old apple id, and i can't switch this apple id to my apple id.
Where i should change for this?

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.

  • New firmware for 350N?

I check once in a while and the other day I saw that there was a new firmware listed for the 350N.  1.04.3 I believe.  I downloaded it, but did not get around to installing it until tonight.  Just on a whim, I checked again before proceeding, and saw that the old one was listed again.  I know I am not imagining things, since I have the file.  I can only conclude that they pulled it back.  Was there problems?  It would not be unprecedented.
Either way, I am not installing it until I see it offered again!

I may have been the culprit in getting the new firmware removed. I tried to install the new firmware via a wirelessly connected Mac. The upgrade failed, and left my router in a dead state (flashing power light, not initting the http server.) I tried to update the firmware manually via tftp, but forgot to set binary mode. My interactions with support were prompt and courteous, but not mac friendly.
Net result was that when I discovered my blunder (after hanging up with support), I was able to tftp both the old and the new firmware into the router using a wired connection. I currently have the new 1.04.3 firmware installed and it has solved a ton of intermittent outage issues for me. 802.11n was useless in my neighborhood until this update, so I can't say enough about it. If you don't have the currently offered firmware, you might want to dl it, but as soon as linksys re-posts 1.04.3, I would rec trying it.
If any Linksys techs are monitoring..... I know that Mac's aren't well supported throught your tech support proceses, but here is the correct way to bring back a router from the dead using Mac OS 10.x
---- new tech procedure for support of any tftp update to router firmware using a Mac OS X box ----
    - first, note the tftp is installed on all 10.3 and greater OS's (may be earlier, but am not certain), so all of your apple customers should be able to complete this procedure.
    - second, note that the wireless connection to a dead router is obviously not available, but this might not make sense to a Mac user who expects everythign to just "work".
-third, note that this presumes the existence of a viable firmware version on the users machine. Have the user move it to their home directory or someplace where they know where it is. Procedure (version 0.a)
1 - connect via ethernet cable to the router
2 - open the system prefs, go to network and set up a manual IP of 192.168.1.105 (or something)
3 - open the terminal.app located in the /Applications/Utilities folder, and perform the following:
4 - change directory to the location of the firmware you want to install. if it has been moved to the home directory, this step isn't needed.
5 - type the command ls this should show the contents of the directory and verify that the needed firmware is present. note the name of the file.
6- type the command: tftp 192.168.1.1 this should connect you to the router
7 - type the command binary this should set the transfer mode to binary, the correct way to upload firmware
8 - type the command put this will upload the firmware. a message indicating successful transfer is all that is needed.
9 - reset the router by unplugging and plugging. the new software should boot.
please double check my process, but this worked for a couple of installed and reversions. for my 350N t
