  • Blackberry Pearl 9105 3G keyboard / keypad replacement

    Hello!
I've just bought Blackberry Pearl 9105 in England. I live in Russia so I would like to replace original english keyboard with russian one (OEM russian Blackberry keyboard ordered in China).
Can you advice some manual or video showing how to do this? Can't find something helpful yet...
    Thank you!
PS. Using Blackberry 9105 (not 9100) with T9 keyboard. Before I found some video showing keyboard replacement on 9100, but the construction of 9105 is different so I afraid of breaking the device.

My pearl 9105 3g has stopped making calls and sending texts I can't receive them either when I go on service status it says mobile voice status not available and connection not connected any one know what to do plz?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Best!

  • Blackberry pearl 9105

this is the second blackberry pearl (purple) that my mum has had to purchase this year and the same problem has occured yet again...
first it starts off with the battery not charging then it suddenly stops working altogether it was sent back to o2 to get fixed and they have sent it back stating that its unfixable something to do with the circuit board..
now when we left it into the store the phone was in good condition which also states on receipt that o2 gave us however when we were contacted by the repair team they stated that it was damaged beyond repair now how can the phone be in good condition on the outside without a scratch on it however the circuit board be damaged beyond repair that means its phyiscally damaged but only the inside...
now my mother is a pensioner not exactly a teenager and keeps the phone in a case in her bag so how she could have damaged the inside an not the outside ive no idea... when the first one stopped working mum was offered a refurbished one at the cost of £100 and the second one was insured and regardless of the insurance that she has on it they will not give her a new phone or a refund..
now this doesnt say much for o2 that even though ur insured they will not either fix your phone or replace it but just leave a pensioner with no phone an insurance policy which is worthless according to the repair team.
i hope someone at blackberry can help as its already cost over £300 for the two phones and the insurance but we are getting no help from o2

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Firstly...a clarification for you. These forums are not any part of your formal support. Except in rare circumstances, these forums are not a communication channel between end users and RIM. Rather, these forums are a community of end users trying to help each other out as best they can.
All formal support starts with the wireless service providers and authorized resellers. They are in complete control of all support, including warranty. While what you describe sounds to me to be not very nice, it should be governed by the terms of the contract between the end user and O2...I suggest you check into what that is...and then escalate with O2 to higher levels of management who hopefully will see the light and offer better assistance.
They can indeed escalate into RIM as well, but RIM would normally not intercede in the dealings between O2 and an end user as that is 100% governed by the contract between those two parties...and, contractually, RIM has no part of that dealing.
There also are often consumer advocate arenas available, generally through governmental institutions. But these are so localized that I've no way to guess what might be available in your case.
    Good luck!

  • Tethering blackberry Pearl 9105 to PC running Windows 7 - error message that " the specified port is not open "

I am trying to tether my Blackberry Pearl to my PC using Blackberry Desktop Manager.  The phone is recognised and connected. I choose the Vodaphone Contract connection profile but keep getting a message that "the specified port is not open".  The RIM virtual modem ports used are COM3 and COM4 and my modem is configurred as COM 3 ,
Is there a port conflict with something on my PC ? or something that I can do to force a port open ?

    Hi Don,
I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
    BEFORE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
    AFTER:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.
    Regards,
    Rave

The exact and complete error message is critical to helping you...there are something like 10,000 possibilities, it'll be so much faster if you provide the exact and complete error message. If you can re-create it, then do so and provide that message.
    Thanks.

  • Blackberry Email Being Phased out - why santyclaus

    Hi All,
Perhaps someone from Blackberry could let us know why they would phase out the blackberry email server and accounts? This was the only account I could rely on working.  Is there some other solution they offer?
PS. For a Blackberry "Classic" I just bought, its not very classic to find this out...
Thank you from a loyal but puzzled business user.

There are plenty of free email accounts out there. There is no real reason to have them anymore. I recommend Outlook.com, which supports Exchange Active Sync (EAS) for Blackberry 10 devices. GMail dropped their EAS for free users a couple years ago so GMail users are left only with IMAP sync which is not that great.

  • BlackBerry Pearl 9105 track pad fault following software upgrade

Since 22 Feb 2015 track pad and buttons like camera no longer work within most applications. Seems to be directly related to faulty automatic software upgrade that so many users are complaining about. Track pad works for 10 minutes after each hard reset, then stops working again.  Please can BlackBerry resolve urgently, as phone is now practically useless.

Okay.  So not an OS upgrade.   Sounds like you are talking about BlackBerry Protect and it is set to perform a backup on a weekly interval.  Or else you are connecting to the Desktop Software and it is set to perform a backup weekly.
It is likely the problems occurring around the time of a backup is coincidence.   Not saying 100% it isn't somehow related to something you did, just it probably didn't happen because of a backup.
So here are some thoughts: The trackpad starts working again after a hard reset.   Again, there could be more involved, but this fact suggests it is possible the issue could be software.   Here is what I would do.
    1) Do a full backup.
    2) Do a clean OS reinstall.  See http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320
    3) Perform the setup and log in with Blackberry ID as necessary.   Do not restore backup.  Do not install add-on or third-party apps.
    4) Test for a while, for an hour or so if possible.  Hopefully there is no problem.  If there is, try a hard reset and see if that corrects the problem.   It isn't good news if the problem still occurs and is corrected with a hard reset, but it may be useful information to a technician.
    5) Assuming there is no problem in step 4, restore the backup.  Again, test for a while.   Launch apps, browse around in device settings, put the device through paces.   Hopefully there is no problem.  If there is, then it's a reasonable suspicion that the problem is associated with corrupt data or settings in the backup.  So, if there are problems in this step, do a security wipe and do a selective restore and restore personal data such as address book and calendar, but not settings and customizations.   Test again.
    6) Install apps, most needed first, one at a time.  Test before installing the next app.   If you have the problems after installing the app, delete the app and test.
Good luck.  Recognize that it is very possible the track pad and buttons are failing or have failed.  I'm sure repairs can be made, but I'm not one to best advise on that.   There are DIY videos and so forth on the Web, and some parts vendors provide instructions.  Another option is to find a shop and get a diagnosis and estimate, provided the cost is reasonable.

  • Damaged charger connection on Blackberry pearl 9105

The connection that I plug my charger in to charge my phone has come loose and will no longer charge my phone. I had the phone august 2011 and was wondering if this is covered by the warranty ,

    Hello,
Only your warranty service provider can make that judgement. From what you describe, as long as there is no obvious physical damage on the outside of the unit, it will likely be covered. But you need to go see your warranty service provider for that evaluation -- and that provider is the same place from which you originally obtained your BB.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry Pearl 9105 contacts

Hi, can someone please inform how to restore all information fields for contacts, as my device now has no field to put phone numbers, @mail adresses, or birthday dates.
If someone has encountered this situation before, will appreciate feedback
    Thanks

that's an issue I've never seen.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    now, try it again.

  • Sound quality/speaker problem Pearl 9105

My Blackberry Pearl 9105 seems to have a problem with the speaker. I can hear people OK but the sound quality has gone really strange - kind of buzzy/robotic and when I ring out, the dialling tone also sounds buzzy and strange. Will I need to take it to be repaired or can I sort it out myself?
    Thanks

    Hi megan_c,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Have you tried reinserting the battery and testing again? If that doesnt resolve it, try backing up and performing a clean reload of your device software. http://bbry.lv/bpv7DT Make sure to test for the speaker issue before restoring any data from your backup file.

But I still have the same problem.
    Currently I have:
    BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.1323 (Multilangauge)
    Package Version: 5.0.0.1323
    Consisting of:
    Applications: 5.0.0.783
    Software Platform: 6.2.0.75
    1. I tried to download the latest software from here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=02A32AD2669E6FE298E607FE7CC0E1A0
    2. Installed on my PC before connecting the device
    3. Deleted Vendor.xml from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    4. Connected device and closed BB Desktop Software
    5. Executed Loader.exe from the same place
    6. It was connected to device and showed me a list with all the applications installed on it
    7. I clicked next
    8. No actions are required
    9. Click on Finish and no change to OS
I tried to do all this with internet and Ethernet cable unplugged, no change.
I read something about Data Plan, but have no idea what is that...
    Please help.
    Kiril.

on step 1 are you talking of this file?
    9100_9105AllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel2114_PL6.6.0.151_A6.0.0.481_Telus_Mobility.exe
after step5 it should prompt you with a list of OS to install (maybe with just one line). Do you confirm that it is the one above in my message?
