Blackberry pearl messenger problem

Hello , I am having problems with my bb messenger on my bb pearl , when I want to type on bb messenger or whatsapp when I press the space button I get this message :"input system error The system is being restarted . " any one knows how to fix this problem ?
thanks.

Sorted now thanks.
It was my fault cos I did not have enough credit on the phone, doh
vodafone always send an sms to let you know when credit is getting low, the only problem is they now send after the limit is too low for the data contract, i must remember in future to keep at least 10 €s on it.
Thanks for the help.

  • Problem with Blackberry Pearl 8130

My girlfriend has the Pink Blackberry Pearl 8130 from Verizon Wireless. She has had the phone for about 4 months and occasionally we have noticed that when she recieves text messages or voicemails the phone will make the alert tone and you see the arrows recieving, once thats done the messages disappear from the phone. When you click on the inbox there is nothing there for text messages. We were just wondering if anyone else with this Blackberry Pearl from Verizon has had any problem like this?
    Thanks!

I guess you did say that her VM's are disappearing too. She's probably running out of memory. Try a hard reset (removing the battery). When you do that it should boost the memory a little bit. It's good to complete a hard reset as much as possible. I try to do it at least once a day.

  • Design flaw in blackberry pearl 8220 audio (voice) - does every phone shipped have this problem?

    Hi,
have a new blackberry 8820 pearl that I am happy with.
The phone does have one big problem.  hearing a person over the phone (i.e.. The top speaker embedded in the flip not the microphone in the phone case proper).
When someone raises their voice a little during conversation the phone distorts the incoming audio (it makes a tinny sound like when a speaker distorts when it is overloaded and yes I am using default volume and have tried it on all volume levels... The phone speaker still distorts incoming voice).
Also called a few numbers and got several people's voicemail announcement... Because people raise their voice just a little bit when they put in their voice mail announcement the phone always distorts the voicemail greeting.
Moved my sim card to a Motorola razor v8.  everything is crystal clear hearing and speaking.  your blackberry pearl flip has a hardware or firmware design flaw... It distorts incoming conversation based on how the person is speaking not just when they are talking with a strong clear voice... But when the incoming speech volume is raised slightly!.
I asked tmobile to send me a new phone.  they did and the new phone does the same thing (i.e.. The handset speaker).  the speaker phone function works just fine and does not distort conversation.
Is this a problem with a certain production run on the phone or does it happen with every blackberry pearl flip 8220?
since the Motorola razor works fine under the same conditions with <no> distortion figured it may be design flaw going to production on the phone. But thought I would ask anyway.. In case this problem has been solved by development in-house.
Please pass this message to engineering and the product line manager responsible for the blackberry flip 8220.  I know if I was a product manager I wouldn't want to go to market with a phone that distorts audio.  you guys should have checked the competition (Motorola and other windows CE phones to make sure the audio on the blackberry pearl is as good or better than the competition).
Hope this helps.  please pass this forward and see what engineering and product management says.  if its a general design flaw it would be good to know.  just wanted my new blackberry (which I like) to work just as good as my Motorola razor.  both are good phones but the audio handset speaker distortion is somewhat of a pain.
    Thank you,

  • Trouble sending files via bluetooth from my powerbook to Blackberry Pearl

I didn't know who else to check first. So I'm taking a chance here. Over the weekend I made the big step of purchasing a Blackberry Pearl 8100. I was looking forward to trying the bluetooth feature. So I paired my phone with my Powerbook G4. Everything good there. I did a test by sending a photo from the phone to the computer. No problem there. Then I wanted to send a backdrop from my pb to my Blackberry. Problem: the computer displays" Device does not have the necessary services." I'm trying to figure out if this a Blackberry or an apple problem. At this point I'm stumped. Before I check with Blackberry I would love to find out if anyone who has a Blackberry Pearl is or had this problem.
    Thanx!

so, i did a little more digging with regards to this problem and found from this forum the answer

  • Blackberry Pearl- Why it's the worst phone ever made

Here's why I think the Blackberry Pearl is the worst phone ever made.
    1. I can't get photo's off of it. My G1 takes a few seconds. I've worked with this Pear for hours upon hours cannot get my photo's off of it. The Desktop manager really bites too no help there. I really dislike this phone. The software just as bad. I guess they were on the move when Desktop manager was getting written.
    2. The phone on occasions would lock on letters instead of numbers. There wasn't an intuitive way to get it unlocked. I found it more intuitive to get a my return from the IRS than it was to get the phone back to dialing numbers.
I'm having my kids dress up as a Blackberry Pearl for Halloween. I'm going to make a Halloween Movie Freddy Kruger attacks people with Blackberry Pearl the topper scene features unsuspecting Pearl user getting tied up and has them attempt to copy their photos off to a PC and the video gets put on Youtube for Christmas.
    Very unsatisfied with your product.
    Don Quixote

I want to join the fun here and list all the different reasons why I'm very unsatisfied with this phone.
The actual phone part of this phone is pretty slow.  It accepts a phone number almost 3 times slower than I can type it in.  Even typing a name on their handy search bar takes forever to get a result.  If I type to fast, it just ignores a couple of my numbers so I have to delete and retype, at the same super slow pace.  I'm guessing that it searches all sorts of contact and history lists to give me cool suggestions, and that's what makes it so slow.  Either way, it irritates me to no end that the basic reason I have this thing is slow as dirt.
All 3rd Party and Blackberry apps require the Blackberry data service.  Even though there's WIFI on this phone, you simply can't connect to anything except the Browser (and even the Browser requires some setting changes to bypass the upsell screen).  This phone CAN do 3rd party services and other applications without the Blackberry data service, but they just don't allow you to.
Sometimes my phone just turns off.  I don't normally mind the 3 minute boot up process, but when I'm in the middle of something and my phone turns off for no reason, it just compounds my frustration.
The keyboard freezes up all the time.  After a good 1-5 minute "please wait clock", I finally get a message saying there was an error and my input application had to be reset.  Sometimes it doesn't quite reset all the way and I have to pull the battery and again wait for the long boot up process.
Its a little unreliable.  Besides the phone turning off at random and the keyboard freezing, I still have problems other problems.  My bluetooth turns off and sometimes doesn't come back.  Once I had to get a new phone sent to me in order to correct that problem.  Pressing buttons doesn't always get a response, especially the green "call" button.  If the phone is bogged down, it just ignored commands, which is pretty frustrating especially if you press a button and accidently double enter a command that is both the "on" and "off" options.  Also, sometimes the screen fades out (like its suppose to) but doesn't come back when you press keys.  Or the external notifications just don't turn on.  It somestimes just doesn't read my memory card.  The zoom feature on my camera also got stuck.
Other small gripes involve having no caps lock, the SureType never learning from my typing ("Hey" always goes out as "Get"), its overall slowness, the looseness of the back casing, the low quality camera, and so much more.
I don't suggest this phone to anyone.

  • Blackberry pearl 8120 screen auto shut off

    Hi,
The screen of my blackberry pearl 8120 shuts off automatically (almost once every day). When this happens, I have to press the start button and it would come back to the main screen with in few seconds and get registered with AT&T. I have updated the device software, removed the media card but still have the problem. Please let me know how to avoid this.

  • MMS Help -- BlackBerry Pearl 9100 on Telus

    Hi,
I have a BlackBerry Pearl 9100 on Telus Mobility in Canada on a 3G HSPA network. I am having problems with the multimedia messaging (MMS -- picture and video messaging) on my phone. I am able to send pictures and videos without any problems. But when receiving messages with pictures or videos inside, my phone removes the content, saying it cannot be displayed on my handset. Is this a feature the phone doesn't support, or could it be Telus?
    Thanks.

    Hey mybrokenbb,
    Welcome to the forums.
If the BlackBerry is only a month old then I would suggest contacting your point of sale for options.

  • Pearl 8120 Problem

I have purchased, a blackberry pearl 8120 from t-mobile in replacement of my 8100... but unfortunatly i had to exchange the phone twice, and did the same problem. THEY BOTH WOULD NOT except any of my Micro SD Cards. Why is that? ive tried 3 different SD CARDS and formated them to the phone... it just kept on restarting over and over and over. now i have lost 200dollars DUE to the poor 8120 Hold to the MICRO SD Cards. Please tell me if someone has already figuired out what was going on.

i dont really have a solution to your problem but something u could try is to leave the card in, remove the battery then replace. but first, if you dont have anything important on your card, i would delete/format the entire card the try it this way you'll start off with a fresh card.

  • Blackberry pearl 9105

this is the second blackberry pearl (purple) that my mum has had to purchase this year and the same problem has occured yet again...
first it starts off with the battery not charging then it suddenly stops working altogether it was sent back to o2 to get fixed and they have sent it back stating that its unfixable something to do with the circuit board..
now when we left it into the store the phone was in good condition which also states on receipt that o2 gave us however when we were contacted by the repair team they stated that it was damaged beyond repair now how can the phone be in good condition on the outside without a scratch on it however the circuit board be damaged beyond repair that means its phyiscally damaged but only the inside...
now my mother is a pensioner not exactly a teenager and keeps the phone in a case in her bag so how she could have damaged the inside an not the outside ive no idea... when the first one stopped working mum was offered a refurbished one at the cost of £100 and the second one was insured and regardless of the insurance that she has on it they will not give her a new phone or a refund..
now this doesnt say much for o2 that even though ur insured they will not either fix your phone or replace it but just leave a pensioner with no phone an insurance policy which is worthless according to the repair team.
i hope someone at blackberry can help as its already cost over £300 for the two phones and the insurance but we are getting no help from o2

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Firstly...a clarification for you. These forums are not any part of your formal support. Except in rare circumstances, these forums are not a communication channel between end users and RIM. Rather, these forums are a community of end users trying to help each other out as best they can.
All formal support starts with the wireless service providers and authorized resellers. They are in complete control of all support, including warranty. While what you describe sounds to me to be not very nice, it should be governed by the terms of the contract between the end user and O2...I suggest you check into what that is...and then escalate with O2 to higher levels of management who hopefully will see the light and offer better assistance.
They can indeed escalate into RIM as well, but RIM would normally not intercede in the dealings between O2 and an end user as that is 100% governed by the contract between those two parties...and, contractually, RIM has no part of that dealing.
There also are often consumer advocate arenas available, generally through governmental institutions. But these are so localized that I've no way to guess what might be available in your case.
    Good luck!

  • Unlocking the BlackBerry Pearl

I have a BlackBerry Pearl from when I was with ATT phone service but now I have switched to T-Mobile.  When I called ATT to get them unlocked they gave me the unlock codes then told me that they cannot make it work and that I needed to contact BlackBerry directly that it is not their problem.  Can anyone please tell me how to unlock a BlackBerry Pearl if the Provider won't?
    Thanks
      Andrea

    hello,
    you have two issues.
first issue : allow your device to accept a SIM card from another carrier.
that is what is called unlock the device (it's also called "de-SIMlocking")
once that is done, you can use any SIM card in the world to use your device. What you will be able to do with just that :
    make/receive phone calls
    send/receive SMS
second issue : configure RIM's servers so that the dataflow gets to your device, through your new carrier.
it's called "release of the PIN", the PIN being in this case the serial number of your device. It's an 8 characters code.
you have to call your previous carrier, and tell them that you need the PIN released so that your new carrier can take over. You may need a proof of purchase of the device.
once that is done, you can link your BlackBerry Data Plan (the new one at your new carrier) to your device, using the BIS website of your new carrier.
then you have a full featured device.

  • Emails deleting themselves on Blackberry Pearl after a few hours

I have set up an Email account on my Blackberry Pearl for a UKmail Exchange email account so I can see my emails on my Blackberry. However after a few hours the incoming emails are deleting themselves only leaving the sent emails. Emails are deleting themselves before I can see them.
I've looked in Email Settings but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to stop them. Has anyone had the same problem?

Check and see if your WiFi is on. I had (have) the same problem when I leave it on and go to work. The phone constantly searches for WiFi and the battery at a record pace. I turn it on only when I am at home or where I can access WiFi, other times I leave it off.
I also hear the Ebay app is a huge drain.
I also limited the home pages, I had over twelve that i think were constantly updating. I limited it to one.
Maybe one or all of these will help.
    Regards.
It's always funny when it's someone else.

  • Random restarts on Blackberry Pearl 8120

Yes, I have a Blackberry Pearl 8120 that I got used for fifty dollars after my old Blackberry Pearl 8100 died. Anyway, to make a long story short it randomly resets itself. The screen goes black, and the LED in the right-hand corner goes red...and then it turns on a few seconds later with a white screen and an hourglass in the center. After a minute or two, it reboots the homescreen and operating system as if nothing happened.
This happens at random intervals, and I do not know what is causing it. Sometimes it will happen several times in a row and other times it will not happen for several hours. It can happen at any time whether you are in the middle of a phone call or if you simply have it on a table and you are not even touching it.
I have done the following steps to determine the problem:
    1. I have removed the media card to determine if that was the problem - No change
    2. I have removed the SIM card to determine if that was the problem - No change
    3. I have reinstalled the operating system - No change
    4. I have tried clearing the message log - No change
    5. I have made sure that the battery was not loose - No change
    6. I have switched batteries - No change
    7. I have tried wiping the memory - No change
The only apps I have on it are the original ones that it came with. I do not know what else it could be as I have done all that my carrier suggested. I would rather not have to get a new phone as I like this phone and I do not need all of the extra stuff on it that newer models have. If anybody can help me with this issue, let me know.

    Hello Neurovore,
    Welcome to the forums.
From the sounds of it you have done everything there is to do. One question, when you did the software reload did you restore a backup file? If the answer is yes the I would suggest doing the software reload again and this time do not restore the backup file and test to see if you have the same issue. If after doing the software reload you still have the same issue then I suspect that it is a hardware issue and you will need to contact your service provider to see if they have a repair center than can look at the device for you.
Hope this helps. Have a good day.
