Blackberry Playbook - Unable to open email via Bridge

Can some help with an issue on the Playbook and a Balckberry Curve 8520
I have installed and configured Blackberry Bridge and all seems to be working fine except the email. The email is setup using a Bes express server. Emails are working fine on the device. However when I try to view the emails on the playbook I get the error message "No email addresses have been setup on your Blackbbery Smartphone" yet it works fine on the handset.
Also I can see in the top left corner of the playbook I have 200 unread emails and can see the preview list so it can sort of see them.
Calendar and Contacts etc are working fine.
What am I doing wrong?

Could it be that your company has some sort of policy that doesn't allow a playbook to be used to check the email? Could you try and ask someone from your IT department?

    Currently have access to my company's email via an Enterprise Account established. While emails continue to show up on my BB9930, for some reason I am unable to "open" emails so I can read the content, reply/reply all or forward; either via tapping on them or using the menu option. Interestingly, I am able to "Delete" them, and also am able to "open" calendar meetings. I HAVE NO ISSUES in receiving emails; my BB9930 is syncing up correctly with my corporate email account. ALSO, I can recieve/read/reply to Instant and Text Messages. I have gone through all Options that are available in my phone, thinking I might have pressed a particular option that "turned off" somehow my reading/reply/forward capabilities on emails, but no luck. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks for the detailed information about your issue! It sounds like your provisioning on the network end and on Blackberry's end is correct. We can determine this by the successful connection to the email server and the ability to receive calendar appointments.  If there were a problem on the network provisioning end, you wouldn't be able to set it up at all. There is likely a server setting that needs to be altered, and a call to you IT department may be necessary.
    If you want to set up your Enterprise email connection from scratch, you would need to wipe the handheld first. Instructions to Wipe 9930.  If I were in your shoes, I'd give a call to your IT department first, and if they are unable to resolve it, try the wipe.

    I'm running Mozilla-firefox on a Lenovo laptop. Last night the screen changed suddenly. brief alert about patch. unable to open email inbox to read/send emails. logged off thinking all would be right by morning. today, can access internet, google, etc, but unable to open email inbox. plus the listing of the various yahoo accts has changed the sequence order. please help. i depend on my email for my livelihood. i can read emails on my blackberry so the issue is not my internet provider.

    Winmail.dat files are attachments sent by Microsoft mail applications (Outlook, Outlook Express or Exchange) on a proprietary format called TNEF (transport neutral encapsulation format).  Try this tool to open it - Winmail Viewer.

    I am unable to open emails on my Droid Charge.  I get a message saying that emails won't open because of firewall settings.  I have a yahoo email account using the default email client.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Did you download a firewall/security app on your phone?  If yes check the settings or remove the application.

    I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

  • Z10 all of a sudden unable to receive email via Microsoft Exchange

    I am able to send but not receive email via Microsofe Exchange.  When I go to email account setting for edit, I am not able to "Cancel" or "Save" either get stuck there.  Any one came across same problem & how to fix it?
    On the other hand, I am able to send and receive email in my gmail account.

    AC68, this is a BES10 account, through your company or employer?
    I'd suggest two things, remove the account from your device, reboot and re-add it.
    And, as your BES or IT Admin if you have further issues.

    I am trying to set-up my email but every time I go onto 'set-up' and then click on 'email accounts' it is unresponsive so I cannot open 'email accounts'. Is there a solution or an alternate way to open it?

    Exchange active sync does work on the newest version of bridge. I have gmIl set this way currently and was able to show some attachments at a local pub

  • I am unable to open emails in hotmail via Firefox but can in Internet Explorer

    I can open my hotmail account but cannot open individual emails or delete or compose emails.
    I can however do all this in Internet Explorer.
    I have ensured I have latest Firefox release (9)

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    I installed the OS 2 format and then I threw my device and all the icons disappeared,
    BlackBerry Desktop Manager software installed with the device off after the opening, but now with balloons on the screen freezes Playbook.
    What can I do please help!!

    I have spoken to US Cellular Customer Service. And he said that there is no issue. If I am not using their network, then the PIN might have been released by US Cellular.
    Also I have updated the BB O/S software through Blackberry Desktop software. But once I finished updating the software, I got an message from US Cellular. So I assume my PIN is still with their network.
    Have told my supplier to check with the seller in USA, and am also sending an email to US Cellular.
    Hope I can eventually get the BB 9850 to work.

    my excel files change to XLS and can't be opened by the receipient when I email them, I have to send it to my pc at work, open it as excel from the list of applications, save it as an excel file and email it from work which is highly frustrating. I've heard it might be something to do with the recent purchase of Snow Leopard, Would be grateful for any help.

    Actually Microsoft Excel has changed formatting.  You have several options of upgrading to a more compatible Excel or equivalent*:

    2007 was the big changeover.   So if you are using an old Excel, you probably will run into problems.  Using the Compress command on files stored on the Mac, Winzip on files on the PC will make them more portable for e-mail.  Just use normal compression.  Not all decompression engines have encrypted Zip file support, or 9x compresison support.   On the Mac, add the paperclip icon to your compose new message toolbar via the View menu -> Customize toolbar.  This will bring up a dialog with a Save Windows Friendly attachment when you send a message, so it is more portable for Windows.   Use an anti-virus tool on both sides, as Macs aren't succeptable to Windows viruses, and can carry them back to Windows users.  And there is this recent malware attack:
